Hi All,

This is a difficult time for most women (and men) I think.

Certainly for me, I've waited a long time to get to this stage , having not met Mr Right until the age of 31. Now 34 and got married 2 months ago and now want to complete the family!

So, just started "trying" for a baby and due to my impatient nature, have already started using Ovulation Kits. (Probably not a good idea). I also did the Female Fertility Test and that seemed to have a good result aswell.

I was on Dianette for 8 years and came off of it 3 years ago. My cycles became regular again but every 5 weeks instead of 4. I had previously come off of the pill for 6 months and my cycles were regular, so I guess all this is a good sign.

Anyone else had similar experiences and fallen pregnant quickly? I know everyone's different but any good news stories help move us all along!! .

xx

Hey All,

Well still no BDing for me. Slight spotting again yesterday but my symptoms are now like AF so not quite sure if the witch is arriving or still an end of the MC. Don't really mind if it's AF because it just means that my body has got itself together again very quickly which is good news!! Just would like to know one way or the other.

So we've decided to wait until the weekend anyway, at least my body would have decided what it's doing by then!!

B and Crunchy, you're so lucky!!

I was ready for little ones at 21, but unfortunately I wasn't in a stable relationship and I didn't want to take the risk of being a single-parent family years down the line. So I waited for Mr Right but unfortunately had to wait a very long time.

Because I've got quite a good job, everyone assumes that I wanted a career first and some have even suggested that it's my own fault if I don't have a baby! Nasty people, if only they knew how desperately I've wanted one for all these years!! Ggggrrrrr

Anyway - and breathe.....

bluestarlavender · 07/08/2008 10:50

MAF - it makes me mad to think you've had negative comments about wanting to have a family!! I don't think anyone has a right to judge another person's situation! You guys are in a great position to give loads of love to a small person/people!

Summerbird - I'm glad AF is all gone now!! I hate the cramps though! Let us know when you post some pics!! It is so nice to put a face to the name! I think I'm going to load some too.

Morning everyone! Wow, I have missed so much again!!

Welcome, MAF this is such a lovely thread and it's great that you have joined us!! And congratulations on the forthcoming civil partnership - is everything ready and organised? Eeeek, how exciting! I loved my wedding day, even though I managed to get pretty stressed out in the run up.

I am 27 next week (still 26 now though!!). Got AF yesterday.... Felt really sad all day and also went to the GP about the weird cramping and she thinks I might have a recurring UTI and wants me to have a kidney scan at the hospital am scared!!

Had MIL and SIL down all day too yesterday so didn't get a chance to MN.

Dawn your wedding pics are lovely!! I might try and put some of mine up later on today....

Bonifacio · 07/08/2008 10:58

Ahh Eth sorry the witch got you!! I hope the hospital goes well!!

MAF What a lovely picture!!

Maybe i'll put one of me and DP up one day!

bluestarlavender · 07/08/2008 11:00

Hi Eth,

Definitely go for the scan...I ended up in A&E back in April with a major kidney infection and was admitted for a week to have IV antibiotics. It was a UTI that spread to my kidneys and went undiagnosed!

The scan is fine...you have dye put in you so they can view your kidneys for stones etc. Best to catch it before anything serious! I was very ill and wouldn't wish it one anyone!

eth37 · 07/08/2008 11:11

Thanks BSL, I have got 3 days' antibiotics first and she said to go back straight away if it doesn't clear up.... Hate stuff like this!!

Lovely pic "MAF" -when was your 30th?

makingafamily · 07/08/2008 11:15

We just ignore any negative comments and listen to the good ones

30th was last month and i have to say i am loving 30

Hope you feel better soon BSL

bluestarlavender · 07/08/2008 11:20

Eth - I feel for you!! If you get any pain in your sides (around your waist), go straight back! I stupidly waited for four days taking ibuprofen before having to be rushed into hospital...I was trying to believe I might have pulled a muscle . But I actually thought I might have a kidney infection. So silly of me, cos I made it so much worse!

MAF - great pic!! And congratulations on the upcoming civil partnership! Are you nervous??

Oh and I've posted some pics too!

Bonifacio · 07/08/2008 11:27

WOW BSL great pics!! When were you in Budapest?!? We used to live there! It was amazing!!

eth37 · 07/08/2008 11:32

Lovely pics BSL!! Did you have a winter wedding? I love your dress!

bluestarlavender · 07/08/2008 11:33

B - we were there about 18 months ago. I loved it!! DH's bro was going to run the marathon so we were going to watch him. They were having the presidential elections that weekend and there was rioting the week before so they ended up canceling the marathon. We all went anyway. I particularly loved the cherry ice cream and want to go back for that alone! The spas were great, as were the coffee shops!! When were you there??

bluestarlavender · 07/08/2008 11:36

Eth - Thank you. Yes, it was January, so we went for an icy theme. We were so damned lucky with the weather...it rained and snowed either side of our wedding day and we had lovely sunshine, but it was very cold!
