Hi guys! Opening a thread for those ttc in the new year! I'll be starting again after an MMC in November, fingers crossed that this'll be a lucky year for all!

In the same boat - just started trying again after my MMC in November. Excited and nervous at the same time...

Sorry for your loss and wishing you baby dust

Anya23 · 26/12/2025 11:41

I wish you luck as well! I just got my first period on Christmas Eve, so I'll be starting around NYE🤞

Hello! I’d like to join over from the other thread.

I thought I ovulated on the 19/20th but now slightly more hopeful due to CM it was the 21st/ 22nd? Only managed to dtd on the 21st and 22nd so might have missed my window altogether.

But will try to remain positive and hope it was ovulation day on the 22nd and that I’m still in with a chance. Which would make me 4dpo- and it’s going soooooo slowly!

So for both your losses @Anya23 and @Booksandclocks it’s such a hard journey, TTC.

Anya23 · 26/12/2025 11:56

Thank you @HelloDarknessmyoldfrenemy
Fingers crossed you ovulated later - your ovulation should be on the day you last have fertile cm, and that was also always the case with me, so 🤞you caught something there! One time is enough!

Just in case it helps you - my first period after my MMC (last week) was a bit longer and heavier than before. I think based on everything online this is normal but usually my body is very predictable so I found it a bit disconcerting!

I think I'm experiencing EWCM now (and it would be the right time) but I've never been particularly good at telling!

Thank you! Yes, that's what I read as well - today is the second day but for now it seems normal, not heavy, I hope it won't be much longer either.. For me ewcm usually appears around CD 8/9 and I ovulate on day 11-12..

How is everyone testing for ovulation? (If you are) I just did based on CM this time but was wondering if I should get some tests for next time. Knowing more precisely what day post ovulation I’m on might make the TWW go faster?

hopeful4us · 26/12/2025 17:41

Hi all, joining from the last thread. Still haven't had a withdrawal bleed/period since having my implant removed (4th Dec) so unsure if I'm ovulating yet. We are DTD every other day though as this is what worked first time around. Will test at the end of January and book GP appointment if I still haven't had a period.

Fingers crossed for everyone - 2026 will be a lucky year!

B242 · 26/12/2025 18:17

Wishing everyone luck, I tried to start testing for ovulation this month but had a horrible time with the boots own brand tests! Trying again in jan with the clear blue ones! We’re trying for our first and have literally only just started, so I feel like I have no idea what I’m doing! Any and all advice is very welcome!

Anya23 · 26/12/2025 18:43

I've been using internet cheapies for LH, but I find that it always coincides with my fertile cm appearing, so I might just stop it because it's a waste of money.. We've conceived our daughter once I started looking for ewcm, but for this second pregnancy I've been using these strips as well
Both were conceived in cycle three of trying

Hi Ladies, also coming over from the last thread. Cycle #3 ttc #3. Currently 4dpo, I'm also only tracking ewcm and not using ovulation tests but I think I will get some for next cycle what are the best ones to get? Will do first test 5th Jan as thats when we are home and I didn't bring any tests with me on purpose and we are away at my partners home. Was testing from 5dpo last cycle so will not be repeating that 🤣

HelloDarknessmyoldfrenemy · 26/12/2025 18:56

Ooooh, I’m also ttc baby number 3 @Washingmachine22 . What ages are your other two? I’ve got an almost 4 year old and a just turned 2 year old.
Also think I’m 4 dpo but not sure I can hold off until 5th Jan! Was thinking I might test New Years Day, will have to see if my resolve holds!
I’ve seen the easyathome test suggested as a good cheap alternative to the clear blue but also looking for recommendations!

Washingmachine22 · 26/12/2025 19:02

@HelloDarknessmyoldfrenemy I have a 12 year old from another relationship and a 2 year old. Both were unplanned (was on evra patch) so this ttc is so very new to me. Did it take many cycles for your older two if you don't mind me asking. I was very impatient that first two cycles but starting to relax now and if it happens it happens

HelloDarknessmyoldfrenemy · 26/12/2025 19:26

@Washingmachine22 It took 7 months with my eldest, though only 3 cycles as I have extremely long cycles (PCOS!). Was incredibly lucky with my second, fell pregnant before I’d even got a period, straight after the coil was taken out.

I’m still on my first cycle this time around so in the very impatient stage 😂 hopefully I’ll be more relaxed next cycle if it hasn’t happened. I think I’m especially nervous as I’m not even sure we dtd on the right day and with such long cycles it feels like such a waste if I didn’t manage even that much!

How do you think your 2 year old will take to another baby? Mine is going through a dreadful clingy stage that the moment but hoping that in 9 months/ a year or so time it will all be perfectly fine 😬

HelloDarknessmyoldfrenemy · 26/12/2025 19:32

@Anya23 Good to know the internet cheapies seem to work. Think I might get some if I don’t fall pregnant this cycle, to check if the EWCM does match up with the LH tests. You’re right, testing can definitely be a money pit!

Washingmachine22 · 26/12/2025 19:37

That is lucky, I was hoping that would be me but I'd say age will be a factor as I'm 36 and my partner is 48. We also only managed the day before ov and the day before that as things have been hectic for Christmas, I thought we would have more alone time 🤣 he is quite clingy but Its just development so will grow out of it soon or so I keep telling myself 🙈 how did you find going from one to two with that age gap? When I had my second it was like having my first all over again as my older boy was 10 and so independent so it will be very different if we manage to have another

HelloDarknessmyoldfrenemy · 26/12/2025 19:47

It is harder to find time to dtd with little ones around! Mine is sleeping poorly at the moment and keeps waking up at the most inopportune moments! Almost like she knows something is up 😂 glad you’ve got a clingy 2 year old too, it must just be the age, right 😬🤞

First 6 months were totally fine tbh. Baby slept a lot and spent a lot of time in a sling so the eldest didn’t feel left out, at least he seemed happy. Then my eldest went through a hitting stage that lasted wwwaaaayyyyy too long and that was incredibly difficult to cope with. Playgroups were a nightmare as so hard to police him constantly while breastfeeding. So that was a very very hard year. But now it’s lovely! They are just starting to play together which is so sweet to see. So ups and downs 😂

Washingmachine22 · 26/12/2025 19:58

Aw that's so lovely to hear, I know it will be hectic but I can't wait. At the moment myself and my partner are living 2 hours apart, we bought a house where he lives so we will be moving in next summer before my older boy starts school as I didn't want to move him while he was still in primary school so we will all finally be together 😊

90yomakeuproom · 26/12/2025 21:23

Hi all, might be joining you all soon as I'm getting cramps and due my period. This will be cycle #2, TTC DC #2.

BellaStar2020 · 26/12/2025 21:49

Hi all, we have just started TTC for our second. I’m on cycle day 10 and Natural Cycles suggests I will ovulate on NYE. I have a daughter who is 4 now.

I fell pregnant fist cycle last time and i know it sounds strange but i am now super nervous this time round because i feel like i can’t be that lucky again. I’m also older now at 36 and my partner is 46. Good luck everyone! Look forward to seeing your updates on here.

CrazyKJ · 26/12/2025 21:51

Hi everyone, joining ahead of AF if that’s okay. Jan will be our first month properly back ttc after a MC in Nov. Trying for our second, so far we’re nearly 18 months in and 2 MCs in last 6 months. Telling myself that this is the year it happens! Sending everyone lots of positivity X

Ttcbabyward · 26/12/2025 21:56

Hey everyone, moving over from December board. Got my peak this morning (7am) and actually had done the deed at 2am so hoping timing is perfect as not feeling up to it tonight as I'm a bit crampy (possibly ovulation pains)

first month trying bbt though so hoping to get clear confirmation of ovulation over the next few days!

good luck to all and hoping there's many positives this cycle!

This is my EXACT situation too!! Just I’m CD 21 now. Good luck to you! I’m hoping we are that lucky 🤣 but trying to remain realistic!
