I am now 37 and have one beautiful 10yrs old boy, my partner has 2 boys 9 & 13yrs.

I bought the Hertility kit online, not yet opened it… I was going to give this cycle my last attempt before investigating 🙃

We got pregnant a year ago but due to personal circumstances we both decided to not go ahead, this I carry so much guilt over 🪃

Now we are both ready and settled in our careers and home but now it has taken nearly 6/7cycles.

today I got my 1st + ovulation test, so beginning our January TWW.

what is everyone else’s story 🌟

I am also trying a year after a termination. Still not in terms with what I did but we are ready now. I am 39 on Tuesday. Have tried for 2 cycles.

SCK2024 · 04/01/2025 21:01

@AegeanPebble

Happy birthday for Tuesday! 😊🎈

Same, I still carry the guilt and feel sometimes that, that may have been my final chance, with being 38 this year.

But I am staying hopeful 🫶🏼

How many DPO are you now x

Im in the same boat. I’m 39 and trying to conceive after a termination 18 months ago.

Carrying a lot of feelings about it but working through them now we’re actively ttc.

Just remaining hopeful - tried for a couple of months but I think my Flo app has been giving me incorrect dates so this month I’m testing religiously as soon as my AF is over 🤞

are you periods regular? I use the Flo app too and use the ovulation strips to add onto the app to keep track x

Sadly today I am back to day(square) one 😭.
The termination has left me with a short luteal phase :(
I had the perfect 28 cycle before.
I expect next ovulation in 2 weeks.

I know i will never recover from the termination. 15 months later I cry every day.

SallyWD · 05/01/2025 14:25

I conceived my first at 35, first attempt. Started trying again for my second at 37 and it took about 8 months. I had two extremely early miscarriages in those 8 months. I wouldn't have known I was pregnant but was taking pregnancy tests very early. After 8 months I had a healthy pregnancy and he's now 12.

AegeanPebble · 05/01/2025 14:26

Honestly, if your cycle is kinda regular just have a lot of sex from day 7 to day 17. Precision tracking will not help you conceive particularly. Best of luck!

ByJollyZebra · 05/01/2025 16:08

Can I join please? I'm 35, trying for my third but my partners first. Currently cycle 9, waiting for my period but negative test today 😞

I had 2.
1 when I was 18yrs old in a violent relationship, secretly.
This I never ever got over, traumatic experience where I had to go through it twice as the surgeon did not remove everything and nearly died.
I lived with the suffering to this day, still cry on occasions and a certain singer/artist makes me cry immediately as I linked her to around that time, but I had my son (now 9) since then.
I am now 37.
your time will come, you may never forget but it gets easier, your human, you loved that baby regardless of behind the reasons you needed to do it. You carry him/her in your heart now ❤️✨ x

Funnily enough, they’ve always been like clockwork then when we started trying I had a couple of months where they were short and I had spotting which had never happened before. Last cycle was back to my usual 28 day so hopefully it has resolved. Thankfully my luteal phase is always the same so it’s just varying in ovulation times (due to stress maybe).

We’re doing SMEP this month and trying to test more accurately.

Good luck to everyone 🤞

Do you have anyone you can talk to?
We carry such a burden when we have to make these painful decisions and it stays with us.

You will recover and heal. One day you’ll feel resolved and at ease with it despite the pain.

I’ve had the same. Also trying SMEP this month. My husband is 5 years younger than me. I wish we could swap our ages.

I’m 39, partner is 46. I’m sat here cuddling our 2 month old - we were trying for about 6months; then had miscarriage and became pregnant again shortly after with this little beauty. Don’t give up ladies! Sending you all lots of love and positive vibes xx

Sperm meets egg plan.

Baby dance every other day starting on cycle day 8. Start ov testing on day 10 and then baby dance every day for three days as soon as you get a positive ovulation test.

Its supposed to give the best chance to have sperm there waiting for the egg.

I was talking about years ago. I'm no longer trying as my family is complete and my youngest is 12. I was testing on the day my period was due or even one or two days before. On two occasions, I got a faint positive with a very early miscarriage a few days later.
I used normal pregnancy tests, not clear blue early.
Good luck. I'm so sorry to hear what you've been through.

Only my partner. I spoke to a phycologist for a few months but she dropped me, because didn't have any improvement after a year. I can't speak to anyone else I am too ashamed.

Thats so bloody unprofessional!!!!
she/he definitely was not the right one for you!
I would definitely try and find the right person for you.
Attending 1 year … it must have been doing well for you to still want to attend your appts so don’t give up.. better out than in 🙂
Plus we are all ears on here for you ✨

In fairness it was more like she thought that there is nothing else she can do for me. I definitely qualify for depression diagnosis but I don't want to take any more pills so I am stalling and haven't tried to find another therapist. I am not sure that talking helps, tbh nothing changes. The physical symptoms are there and I am still missing my baby.
I think only a new pregnancy will shift things, so I try to focus on this. I am taking a million supplements trying to fix the damage the abortion did to my fertility.

I feel that, but in her profession she should still be offering you the support for your own mental wellbeing, whether or not she felt there was nothing she could do for you.
just someone to listen can be enough for some people 🫶🏼
I’m a nurse your story touches me ❤️
Your happiness will happen, with all all my hope✨
what supplements are you taking? I haven’t taken any yet but thinking I might start x

The shame is so hard to cope with.
I feel that too even though know it was the right thing to do at that time.

I sounds like someone experienced specifically in trauma counselling might be more helpful for you.
Like @SCK2024 says there’s always a listening ear on mumsnet and it’s anonymous so we can vent more easily.

FenellaFurchester · 08/01/2025 23:29

I’m on CD8 tomorrow so starting SMEP.

I’d really appreciate some crossed fingers for us 🤞

DH and I have been taking Naitre (very expensive) I don’t want to speak too soon but it’s helping my energy levels and (big TMI) seem to have far more cervical mucus than usual so it may be helpful.

Also planning to use Conceive Plus lubricant.

Apart from those things I’m trying to relax (doesn’t feel possible 😂) and I’ve requested a massage from DH.

Also got DH on fenugreek and ashwanganda, and he’s using frozen peas to keep his testicles cool 😂
