I am now 37 and have one beautiful 10yrs old boy, my partner has 2 boys 9 & 13yrs.

I bought the Hertility kit online, not yet opened it… I was going to give this cycle my last attempt before investigating 🙃

We got pregnant a year ago but due to personal circumstances we both decided to not go ahead, this I carry so much guilt over 🪃

Now we are both ready and settled in our careers and home but now it has taken nearly 6/7cycles.

today I got my 1st + ovulation test, so beginning our January TWW.

what is everyone else’s story 🌟

Hello! Late to joining this thread but I’d love to read back on some positive outcomes when I get a moment !

Our story: Me and my partner are both 36 this year.
We started ttc for our first when we were 24 and when nothing was happening went through all the checks and told it was just unexplained infertility, 3-4 years later did 2 rounds of ivf that were both unsuccessful. Inbetween ivf we fell naturally pregnant but miscarried at around 6 weeks. Add another 4-5 years and we’d just given up trying along the way tbh!!

After 9 and a half years unexpectedly when we were no longer trying it happened. After our first was born we agreed to not go on BC and if it happened again that would be amazing and if not then that’s it. 16months after trying/not trying again we got pregnant with our second .. and third .. unfortunately one twin did not make it and we lost them very early on.

our second is now 6months and we’re trying for our third and final baby before we get too old (this is how we feel personally, I know people have babies older but we want to be done asap 😅).

I had an emotional wobble at the start overthink and panicking 🫠😄
Today I went into ultrasound at work and asked them to scan me so I feel reassure before going away and there I saw my little baby flickering away! ❤️🤭

Ah how lovely for you! I’m so pleased.
I’m okay, getting close to the end, about 8 weeks to go now. It’s gone so fast and been such an emotional rollercoaster 😂

Not sure if this thread is too old now but just looking for somewhere to find people in a similar position (and age) to me. To try and support and help each other.

I’m 38, been TTC for 19 months including one miscarriage at 8 weeks (a year ago) and one chemical pregnancy (5 months ago). Have spent so much money on fertility tests, OPKs, supplements and anything else I thought would help (cough medicine, baby aspirin 🙃). Every test for both of us is normal or better than normal (my AMH and AFC both really good for my age), time things well every month but nothing seems to work.

it has really, really taken a toll on our relationship and it’s getting to the point where looking at other options might be on the table (IVF or ovulation induction) despite neither of us envisaging that. We both have children (I have 1, partner has 2) from previous relationships. The issue is that I think he would be happy to stop now and prioritise our relationship where I feel I will have regrets if we don’t try every option and in the future it’s too late.

There is so much pressure all the time and I don’t want that but it’s a byproduct of the situations that have happened to us. Any advice, or experience welcome ♥️

@Heartofhope hi, I am sorry you find yourself here. I personally now have a 5 month old but hopefully some other ladies will be in your position.

Did you have a c section with your last child? How are your cycles? Other then the basic testing, have you had any other testing? Sorry for the questions, I just want to see if there is any ideas I can share x

I had a natural birth with my son (13 yrs ago), have had AMH, AFC (both really good for my age), FSH, LH, progesterone, thyroid, thyroid antibodies and sticky blood all tested. My partner has had semen analysis too. All normal, nobody wants anything to be wrong but it also means there’s nothing to fix and it’s so emotionally hard especially relationship wise x

@Heartofhopemy journey was not as long as some others. I started TTC in December 2023 and found out I was pregnant in march 2024. Unfortunately I had a TFMR in may 2024 due to severe CDH (found out in his postmortem that he has T16). I then struggled to conceive after this and had spotting after my period had ended. I was referred to a NHS scan but had a private one whilst waiting. Both scans showed that I had a c section niche defect which was collecting blood and making my uterus a inhospitable environment. I also found out I had PCOS as I had loads of follicles on one side (other then higher than normal testosterone levels I had no other symptoms). I didn't not want to wait for the NHS as they may not have agreed to surgery so I got surgery done privately in January 2025 where I also found out I had stage 4 endometriosis which I was very much unaware of. After recovering I found out I was pregnant in July 2025. I had been looking into tests via Fertylisis in Greece as you can either go to their clinics or do it remotely. They offer tests that are more expensive in the UK and not many places offer them. I would highly recommend looking into them. There is a lot of good stories out there about people who have had testing and treatment via them and gone on to get pregnant.

Can I ask what type of scan it was you had that diagnosed the issue you had? Whilst I haven’t had a c section I had a problematic coil which was lost and required forceps to remove a few years ago. Could have nothing to do with anything but you start racking your mind for any possible cause! I have been offered a scan through my insurance via my employer (it’s very limited but I appreciate it nonetheless) and it’s a sonohysterography - a saline scan I believe to look at the uterus. I need to travel to another city for it and if it isn’t likely to be in depth enough I’d rather know than go ahead and waste more time as opposed to other private options - I have heard of fertilysis and if I do end up going down the ivf route I’d want to know things were ok first other wise it is wasted time, money and cycles.

@Heartofhopei only had an ultrasound but a sonohystergram will show any defects as well so I would recommend getting it done if you can do. I had a female pelvic scan from ultrasound direct that I paid for myself and then used my health insurance to cover for my surgery. They wouldn't of paid for it if they thought it was for fertility but they were happy to pay as I had a NHS referral to gynaecology for abnormal bleeding.
I was definitely wanting to rule everything out to see why I wasn't getting pregnant. Hopefully nothing is wrong for you but you get to the stage where you don't understand why you are not getting pregnant

@Mummysparrow thats really helpful thank you. My insurance covers it due to recurrent loss otherwise I’d be the same it wouldn’t cover for fertility. Im going to phone tomorrow and book the scan 🤞🏼 I know right, drive yourself mad with all the ‘what about this, or maybe it’s that’ 🤯

I have my gorgeous, cheeky 10 month old girl on my hip right now. She was conceived when I was 39.
Some difficulties during pregnancy but none to do with my age.

My brain won’t actually accept that time has past since then and I keep forgetting I’m nearly 41 😂

it’s tough as time goes on feels like it will never happen but I do still hope! Have just changed up my supplements and added extra, probably won’t make a difference but makes me feel like I’m doing something! I’m 39 in January but feel an IVF decision probably needs made around/by then if it hasn’t happened for us as TTC and after loss is emotionally so hard going it will be 2yrs by that point and don’t think we’d be able to take much more!

I’m 35, ttc #2 with pmos and endo. Only on our first cycle but didn’t realise how much tracking is needed as our first we conceived first month of trying somehow. 😅
I don’t want to be having a kid past 37 as I grew up with older family members and don’t want the same for the kid so it does feel like a bit of pressure right now.

Being 38 (an age I didn’t envisage wanting to have a child at) and trying for 19 months I definitely feel the pressure with you 😂

I too can’t believe how easy it was historically but certainly hadn’t been my experience this time round. Just trying to control what I can control and preparing myself that we may need to decide ivf in the near ish future.
