Starting thread number 4, can you believe it? Congrats to everyone who has been lucky the last few threads and for those who have had recent losses again or new, keep strong, you are amazing. To those still trying, it will happen, myself included there and we will support each other.

I'll just include a foreward for anyone new who joins us, this is a supportive group for anyone who has had a loss, no matter how early or late. Everyone here has experieced the upset and understands.

Ive gone through the list and more than likely left people out so add anyone you think I've forgotten.

@Onthedouble123 My negative was instant. As soon as I started spotting my test was super faint and then when bleeding was negative. Is the line prominent or fading? I really hope there's some good news for you. How far are you? I know some people can bleed and go on to have healthy pregnancies. It's just waiting for the 6 weeks for epu to do anything. Can you request a blood test from GP?

@Ella31 I hope you are treated better at your appointment. I don't have much faith in the NHS with other medical problems I have but that's another story.

100 percent with the bloods @Onthedouble123 , it's the only way to know for sure this early. And rant away as much as you want here. This is so bloody hard and the last thing you want is to hold it in.

Thanks @DonnaWhat I don't know much about the NHS but our system here is probably no different. I'm just disappointed. I probably deluded myself into thinking we would be hand held with all that has happened. Silly I know. Let's see what Thursday brings. I presume I'll get the ultrasound result straight away? I've never had a fertility one brfore, only pregnancy

@Ella31 I'm so sorry, such a lack of compassion. I don't think people remember that they're talking to a human being ❤️

@Onthedouble123 how confusing for you! I can't completely understand the glimmer of hope - can you get seen for an ultrasound?

Onthedouble123 · 24/06/2024 10:39

@Ella31 thanks. Dr called me back when she saw the test. Said it looked very strong and I've to go for a blood test this afternoon and then again in 48 hours (depending what today's says).
I'm trying to concentrate at work but I'm all over the place! 😩😩😩
I've had heavy normal period bleeding so really trying to not get my hopes up.
Xx

@the
@ThelastRolo20 I'm too early for a scan. Deep down I think surely this can't work out. But just a waiting game I guess.
Handholds gratefully received! Xx

I think you're right to be cautious given the bleeding but stranger things have happened! no wonder you can't concentrate. I have everything crossed for you 🤞🏻🤞🏻

You are so strong. If that was me I'd be under the covers so well done for being so brave today. I'm really glad you are getting the blood test. I think you'll have your answer soon. 🥰🥰🥰

@Ella31 I'm really sorry the appointment won't be what you're hoping for, and that the phone conversation sounds like it was far from sympathetic. Hopefully after the first appointment, you'll be able to speak to a specialist?

@Onthedouble123 With my May miscarriage, I had a full 7 day period, which started about 9 dpo. I assumed it was my normal period. I then tested positive for pregnancy about a week later (I kept getting positive LH tests when looking for next ovulation), I had a D&C because despite the bleed, the pregnancy was still there and attached. I tested positive for pregnancy until about 2 weeks post D&C. That said, a friend of mine had a full period like bleed, and went on to have a healthy preganancy. Bleeding in early pregnancy can turn out ok (eg, my friend), or not (eg my case). I really hope that it turns out well in your case, I just thought it may be helpful to share both experiences.

Onthedouble123 · 24/06/2024 11:58

@ExTriTrying thank you. That is very interesting to hear direct accounts of both sides!
Just got to wait and see what the next few days bring I suppose.

Thanks for the words of encouragement everyone. I've managed to calm down a little bit and get some work done at least!
Will update you all after my appt this afternoon... Xx

With my chemical I also got my normal period first @ExTriTrying I was shocked to find out I was pregnant. And like your friend another pal of mine same experience as me except baby was perfect. Anything can happen

Just got a call from a lovely lady from the same clinic. I'm booked in to meet the consultant with my dh in mid July.

@Ella31 that's great news! You obviously just happened upon a bad apple of a receptionist. Xx

ThelastRolo20 · 24/06/2024 12:30

@Ella31 that's great, what a relief they've sorted that for you and you don't have to wait too much longer x

Ella31 · 24/06/2024 12:34

@ThelastRolo20 @Onthedouble123 thank god. I'm still puzzled by why seeing the doctor is a week after the ultrasound. Maybe it's results? Though I assumed, the ultrasound results would clear enough on the day.

@Ella31 that’s great that you had a lovely person ring you back & you have a date to see the consultant

ThelastRolo20 · 24/06/2024 12:44

@Ella31 I imagine it'll be to help them come up with an appropriate plan of action, they don't know that nothing will show up (obviously you're happy that all will be fine which is fab 🙂).

It's better they take a week and you have a really productive meeting, then they do it straight after and it's a bit of nothing!

Also, perhaps your call this morning nudged them to get it booked in and it was simply availability 😅 xx

@Ella31 im doing better since the weekend thank you.
Had a real knock last week with a family member sharing their pregnancy news & asking me lots of pregnancy related questions even though she knows what I’ve been through.
I gave the gynaecology counsellor at my hospital a call today so hoping to hear back. As much as I can push through these feelings for now, I am worried how i will cope if I get pregnant again & ends in another loss

But my pregnancy tests are almost negative now, can only see a hint of a line when holding a torch to it! Hoping it won’t be long until my period returns

Aw that's so insensitive of her. People have no cop on. I hope you just let it go in one ear out another.

Sadly mc is always a risk isn't it but there's great chances of success too. We have to live in hope. I was ball of nerves until 12 weeks with my twins.

Figtree11 · 24/06/2024 14:15

@Ella31 @ThelastRolo20 thank you, I know people who haven’t gone through it don’t fully understand, but to be asking me about morning sickness & what week I felt sick surely isn’t appropriate. Not sure why it knocked me as much as it did but was feeling very low last week.

Definitely need to live in hope, it’s the only way to cope in these situations

DonnaWhat · 24/06/2024 14:57

@Ella31 Good to hear you have an appointment the week after. You probably won't get the answers you want on your scan date. I've had ultrasounds for things to do with my crohns etc and they don't give results straight away, I had to wait until I saw the consultant.

@Onthedouble123 Good luck for this afternoon and I hope bleeding subsides.

@Figtree11 That was a little insensitive of them to ask you that, I think people can be just blindsided by their news that they forget about what other people have gone through. Their mouths run ahead of their brains.

@DonnaWhat just to escalate the drama haha. It was like my boys pm results. The result took 6 months but the actual pm was done 3 days after their passing. They do love their waiting times😄
