Starting thread number 4, can you believe it? Congrats to everyone who has been lucky the last few threads and for those who have had recent losses again or new, keep strong, you are amazing. To those still trying, it will happen, myself included there and we will support each other.

I'll just include a foreward for anyone new who joins us, this is a supportive group for anyone who has had a loss, no matter how early or late. Everyone here has experieced the upset and understands.

Ive gone through the list and more than likely left people out so add anyone you think I've forgotten.

I was going to start my post exactly like yours @jellyfish2 ... I haven't been posting on here much lately as I've been feeling quite sad and anxious and didn't feel I had much to contribute. TTC is a tough journey...
Sorry I haven't experienced anything similar though, have you considered talking to your GP? Also, have you tried inofolic alpha? I think it made my cycles shorter and more regular.

Question for you all... I think the recommendation is to talk to your GP if you've been TTC for more than 6 months if you're over 35. I talked to my GP yesterday as I was requesting a coeliac disease check up and she kind of dismissed me although it's been 6 months, I think mainly because we did get pregnant on the 2nd cycle (which ended in a MMC). Should I have insisted more? Or do the 6 month reset after the MMC? (It was my first ever miscarriage).

It's tough, can dip back in and out whenever you feel. It's an emotional rollercoaster. I'll see if I somehow manage to catch this cycle but we only dtd when I got my peak and then last night which are probably two of the most important days I guess but will dtd tonight and then cross my fingers. I'll speak to the GP if I don't catch this cycle which would be 5 months.

I would definitely push, I don't know if it does reset but that's what I'd take it as and what I'll be doing too. I think it's important to advocate for yourself as I think GPs can be so dismissive from what I've read. For us TTC consumes our lives but they don't quite appreciate that! The other option is private tests which I have looked into - the hertility one. Worth going through gp first I think.

ThelastRolo20 · 26/06/2024 15:29

@jellyfish2 it's so disheartening. Have you done a pregnancy test to check? OPKs can pick up the HCG hormone - just thinking that you said the discharge matched your previous implantation bleed ❤️

I'm doing okay thank you lovely. Had a scan on Sunday and all was good at that moment in time. 12 week scan is on 8th July so just have to wait until then now - it'll either be okay or it won't x

Onthedouble123 · 26/06/2024 16:10

@jellyfish2 have you done a pregnancy test? I don't want to throw around false hope but I've read of people getting strong OPKs as an indicator for a positive HCG. Keeping everything crossed for you.
@MisssMarion we are over 35 and had been trying over a year nevermind 6 months and the GP was quite dismissive with my husband! The guidance definitely says 6months for 35+ though so I'd push them on it if I were you. (We just gave up and went private as I don't feel like we have time to waste).
I've done both my blood tests. First one was 136 which is apparently on the low side. So not holding out much hope but feel at peace with just getting the confirmation of it is bad news so that we can look to move on. The limbo is the worst part 😩 you know it's a very low odds of being successful but as much as you tell yourself to stay grounded your imagination runs away with that tiny shred of hope.
@ExTriTrying it's really helpful what you said about tests continuing to strengthen as I definitely think that's something filling my husband with false hope as the FRERs were continuing to get noticeably darker up until yesterday even though bleeding started on Saturday night.
Today's was fainter but wasn't the same sensitivity of test as I ran out of FRERs so isn't really conclusive either way.
@Ella31 I hope knowing that it was even rarer than first thought brings some comfort. I hope the meeting with the consultant is healing rather than too upsetting. You are genuinely inspirational how you've faced everything for your two beautiful boys. Xx

jellyfish2 · 26/06/2024 16:37

@ThelastRolo20 @Onthedouble123 yeah I've tried easy at home pregnancy tests and they've all been bfns - I started getting my hopes up about the HCG. It really is strange that it coincides with my period and the same kind of spotting I had both times for implantation but the opks have started to come down again so it does appear to be ovulation. So bizarre!
That's great everything was well at your last scan, not long to go now til your 12 week one. I have everything crossed it'll be ok. I understand just taking one scan at a time though after everything you've been through.

@Onthedouble123 how far along should you be? What dpo? My chemical blood test was way lower than that. Like 40. Hopefully it will have doubled by today

@Ella31 I'm about 16dpo. I'm now thinking did I mishear her and it was 36?! She definitely said it's on the lower side. Xx

Onthedouble123 · 26/06/2024 16:44

@Ella31 you talk about them in every single post if you want to! 💕 Xx

You definitely didn't mishear, you were listening with every shred of your being no doubt.

16dpo is early so that figure isn't terrible. Keep hoping. Let's see what your bloods bring the next day. When will you hear?

@Onthedouble123 the first number is fine, it all depends on the seconds numbers. If the number doubles over 48 hours it’s a good indication of a successful pregnancy.

I had these bloods done on both pregnancies. First time they tripled and I ended up with my first baby.

Last time, my numbers only increased by 35% and then 15% and I miscarried.

fingers crossed for you 🤞 when do you get the results?

Onthedouble123 · 26/06/2024 20:37

@Ella31 @Lovedatforme thanks both. They said a couple of days. My first set came back the following day though so could be tomorrow afternoon I get an update.
I'm all out of any pregnancy tests now so just going to stop those and wait for the call... Xx

@Onthedouble123 I'll have everything crossed for you - you're not out of the running yet 🤞🏻🤞🏻

@Ella31 so pleased the investigation journey for you is starting tomorrow ❤️ you've remained so strong during your journey and so deserve your happy ending. I really hope they help you find a a way forward..

@jellyfish2 that's so confusing for you - must have been an incredibly delayed ovulation 🙂 did you manage to squeeze any dtd sessions in? 😅

Figtree11 · 26/06/2024 20:54

@Onthedouble123 thinking of you
@Ella31 i’m glad the journey is starting. Always feels better to be aiming to something
@ThelastRolo20 so pleased everything is going well. I am hoping so hard for you that the 8th July is a happy day

DonnaWhat · 26/06/2024 20:55

@Ella31 I really dont mind you talking about your boys, they live on in memory here and I would like you to keep talking about them. It's never too much.

@Onthedouble123 when do you have your second bloods done? Is it tomorrow? If so, good luck, I'm rooting for you.

@MisssMarion I'm in the over 35 club too. Been trying since last June (when I had my implant out) got pregnant in December (early jan) miscarried March and had a chemical pregnancy last month, so I've started the 6 month window from last month.

Lovedatforme · 26/06/2024 20:59

@Onthedouble123 The limbo period is so tough, be kind to yourself!

@Ella31 Good luck with your scan tomorrow. Hope you get some answers.

Only the night I got the peak test, next day (assuming o day) then I'll do it tonight too for luck 🙈 would've preferred more on the run up to it but we were both too tired so it was 3 nights before that I think. Fingers crossed it's been enough - only takes the one little sperm! 😅

ThelastRolo20 · 26/06/2024 21:46

@Figtree11 thank you ❤️ it means a lot. Unless you've experienced loss I don't think people can understand what these early weeks are like so the support here is incredible x

@jellyfish2 it definitely does take only one sperm! 😂 Really hope this month is successful ❤️

Ella31 · 26/06/2024 21:52

Fingers crossed @jellyfish2 I've every hope for you in the next few days.

Thank you ladies. Im feeling ok I think. Been reading about a few of you talking about being over 35 and going to gp and such. I'm half way through 33 myself but I took myself to the gp at 6 months not because I think I'm doomed, just to see what the options are. Never feel guilty for asking questions, it's your life after all.

As for the over 35 thing. I think 35 is the new 30 tbh. So many of my peers are only having their first now. I think the media and what's happening around us tends to add so much pressure.

@Ella31 I agree, so many people are having their first child in their late 30s/early 40s now - look at the actress Joanne Froggatt who's expecting her first and she's 43!
Sorry I missed your message about your ultrasound, that's a great step forward. Wishing you lots of luck for it 🩷 let us know how you get on x

Definitely, I know exactly how you must be feeling. I know if I get pregnant again I will be incredibly anxious. It’s such a shame that what should be such a happy time has been tainted now to cause anxiety & actually fills me with dread in a way thinking about it

Ella31 · 26/06/2024 22:37

Meant to ask those of who got their bfp and those still trying are ye and did ye dtd every other day or waiting for rise in opks or cm? We over did it last month and I think the time I was successful it was around fertile week I only did it

Edited

I don’t get on that well with OPKs so last time I conceived we DTD every 2-3 days starting a week after my period ended up until my period would have been due (as I wasn’t entirely sure on my cycle length)
