Thank you for setting up the new thread 💗

MENTS
Some good news on my end - I've just been discharged from CRP clinic at 20 weeks. Last intralipids yesterday so off all medication now (was on complex plan for high nk cells, natural conception with hyper fertility). Tbh I won't relax fully until there's a healthy baby in my arms, but feeling grateful to have made it this far 💗

kea1990 · 24/04/2024 10:31

Thank you for setting up the thread - I am going for a HyFosy at the clinic today, feeling a little nervous but hoping this will identify whether there are any problems with my tubes which may be causing us a delay in falling pregnant. Hope everyone is ok xx

Gizmo1983 · 24/04/2024 10:53

@VenusStarr tjanks so much for setting this up I would have no idea how to do it lol. Have left you a msg on the old page ❤️.
@fleur89 wow that is amazing that is wonderful you are half way there xxx
@kea1990 good luck I had one a couple of weeks ago and the procedure I didn’t find painful at all good luck and I hope it goes well. They did find I had a blocked tube so I’m so glad I had it done so at least I now know xxx

lozzmax · 24/04/2024 11:36

@kea1990 I'm also having a Hyfosy today though at a different clinic, I'm so nervous because I've had one before and wasn't prepared for any kind of discomfort. Hope yours goes well.

@fleur89 massive congratulations, that is wonderful news. Enjoy this next bit, it's probably the nicest part of pregnancy as you're not obsessing over movement and you're not aching all over! I think I was in the hospital at least once a week towards the end as I was so panicked about something going wrong after everything I'd gone through. Best of luck for the next 20 weeks, it will fly ❤️

Sunflower360 · 24/04/2024 12:10

@VenusStarr sorry to hear you're feeling that way, and I hope you find a balance between the two.

I am ok, hoping to go into my 3rd FET, scan went ok. CD 7 lining was 5.6mm, follicle 13mm for a natural FET....so lining needs to thicken up but I suppose its still early and follicle is still growing, will know more in the next scan. If this FET is another fail then will go into another EC and do PGTA before revisiting FETs, conscious I turn 39 this year so want to do what I can EC wise before then if possible

Gizmo1983 · 24/04/2024 14:23

Good luck today @lozzmax hope it goes well. I had no pain at all with mine even the blocked one which I thought was bizarre xxx

kea1990 · 24/04/2024 14:53

Thank you for your messages! I hope your HyFosy goes ok @lozzmax 🙏

I have just got home from mine - at first they thought everything looked ok but then it appears that the foam/liquid was not spilling out of the left tube and so Dr Edge thinks that this tube may be blocked. My dominant follicle was also on the left hand side so unlikely that I will fall pregnant this month. I have been told that after 6 cycles of pred I need to take a break anyway so now need to decide whether to take the break early this month as unlikely we will fall pregnant anyway or whether to carry on as planned and take the break next month which will be after the full 6 cycles xx

lozzmax · 24/04/2024 15:22

Mine went ok as well - hardly any pain this time, I was expecting it to be a lot worse. There is something in there - potentially tissue from my miscarriage in November, potentially scarring. I need a hysteroscopy next. Either way, it's not a surprise that I miscarried last week and I'm feeling really frustrated that when I saw Dr. S on Monday, he wrote off my most recent loss as 'chromosonal abnormality, try again next month, keep going on the plan'. I only did the Hyfosy because I had seen another doctor for a second opinion and he suggested it - Dr. S didn't even think to suggest it, and it seems highly likely that I miscarried as a result of there being little room for an embryo to implant and womb obstruction. At the IVF clinic, I have a long time with the consultant, and he's very thorough at checking all of my medical history, asking lots of questions and said his method is to do every check he can to see what's going on, whereas with Dr. S I feel very rushed through every time, and not sure he's properly investigating anything other than NKC. Given Dr. S has been so dismissive of IVF for us, I am beginning to wonder who to trust! Does anyone else ever have this concern? Obviously I am incredibly grateful to him for the arrival of my daughter, and I felt well looked after in that pregnancy, but I'm questioning his method a bit after this and a couple of other things (like the fact that he had forgotten that my last pregnancy was a twin pregnancy and I had to prompt him on that as a reason for miscarriage which is what he diagnosed at the scan - he only went back to look at the scan once I'd mentioned it).

lozzmax · 24/04/2024 15:24

@kea1990 what are the next steps for you? Can they unblock the tube? Sorry to hear that they found something, every set back is so frustrating isn't it. Each cycle that goes by is so painful

kea1990 · 24/04/2024 16:07

@lozzmax I am glad yours went ok & that you weren't in pain. Hopefully the hysteroscopy will get to the bottom of it for you 🤞

Dr Edge suggested that after my break on pred for 1 month that we try with super ovulation for a few cycles - if we have no luck with that then I may have to have the tube removed - a lot to process again - nothing ever seems to go to plan! X

VenusStarr · 24/04/2024 18:02

@kea1990 I'm sorry it looks like you have a blocked tube ❤️ don't write this cycle off though, your tubes can move around, so there's is still hope. It's disappointing for you though. Lots of love

@lozzmax I'm sorry it looks like you have scarring 😔 are hoi doing the hysteroscopy at crp? I had it there with Dr Jan, all was fine in the end but they look after you. Its just money all the time isn't it? ❤️

@Gizmo1983 I'm glad you have a plan. Are you doing your ivf cycles back to back? It's hard not to let it get on top of you. I hope yours goes well. I just wish mine had better outcomes, its really affected me not getting any embryos. But I hope that you have a better time of it.
I've home highlighted my hair today 🫠 definitely feeling the need for a change. It's quite light (am med to dark brown usually, but sod it). I've been drawing out some tattoo ideas but nothing concrete. Also debating piercing my nose... anyone say mid-life crisis!? 🤣

Congratulations @fleur89 🥰

@Sunflower360 sounds like you're on track 🙂 I hope this I'd the cycle and you don't need more collections.

I just had quote an intense therapy session, lots of tears 😢 now at zumba xx

Sunflower360 · 24/04/2024 18:58

@VenusStarr I'm kind of expecting the worst outcome tbh, hence thinking of ECs-"expect the worse, hope for the best" comes to mind. If I end up transferring known PGTA normal embryos in any future FETs and it still doesn't work there is a part of me that feels that may be the closure I need for this chapter in my life. Of course we haven't PGTA'd our current batch as their already frozen but if these embryos or any possible future ones don't work then that's that, I just want to give it everything so as to not have any regrets in all honesty. Be glad to know one way or another eventually.

That sounds quite a full on therapy session, but good that you have someone to talk to. Have you been able to speak to family and friends at all? It's really hard, albeit our family and close friends know now, we don't give them any updates - we've just said if their are any positive updates, they will know. Otherwise, we won't be talking about it with them. Hope the therapy sessions help in processing this all, and if/when you feel up to it the next IVF cycle goes ok too.

Gizmo1983 · 24/04/2024 20:37

@kea1990 dr edge also found my left tube was blocked. She told me it will only reduce my chances by about 20% as the tube swings round and can collect from the other ovary. She honestly said it wasn’t that much of an issue I was surprised tbh. I’m not so sure as haven’t fallen pregnant once in the last year hence signing up for ivf as something isn’t working.
aw @lozzmax nothing worse than when you come out with more questions then answers I’m so sorry I know how I felt when they said about my blocked tube I was ok at first and then just felt more and more beaten. I am a believer in going with your gut and being rushed. I know last week after I was having complications after the hyfosy/ trigger shot I was just told to go to a and e and that was that it has knocked my confidence in them if I’m honest. I had a hysteroscopy a few weeks ago and it’s literally a camera and they see loads I hope so much you find the issue and they can sort it.
@VenusStarr i know this sounds silly but im honestly not sure if we are doing back to back. My hubby doesn’t want to he wants to do a ivf cycle then a little break then another cycle etc. not quite sure what I want I will probs just want to keep going. I hate the thought of waiting for the pgt a results to come back if we are lucky enough to get that far. I’m trying my best to psyche myself up for not getting anything to transfer or them all coming back abnormal. Hubby is certain I’m going to get like 10 healthy perfect blasts ffs and I keep telling him it was not happen but he’s having none of it. His eternal optimism drives me mad.
having a bit of pink cm tonight I’m only 8dpo wondering if the progesterone is irritating my cervix or period is starting early. I don’t think my body likes progesterone suppositories and I use them anallly as well and it still upsets my cervix 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️. I bet your hair looks fab perfect for spring/summer and sod it get your nose pierced you can always take it out if you don’t like it xxx
@Sunflower360 got everything crossed for you I’ll be honest I don’t really know what to expect with ivf I’ve watched a few ivf videos. I really hope all goes well. We’ve decided to pgt a test. I’ve had 2 losses one was chromosomal one wasn’t so 50/50 so far for us xxx

Gizmo1983 · 24/04/2024 20:39

@kea1990 i wonder why dr Edge suggested removing the tube if superivulation doesn’t work? She never said any of that to me she was just ah it’s not going to be an issue and I’m almost 41 so I don’t have time to mess about xxx

kea1990 · 24/04/2024 20:46

@Gizmo1983 Dr Edge did also say to me that it was possible for the other tube to collect the egg from the ovary but she said this month for me it was unlikely but it is good to know that it is not impossible!

I think she meant that if we decided to go down an IVF route (if the super ovulation didn't work after a few cycles) then they would probably suggest removing the tube but she said this wasn't something she would recommend at this stage - only if we have to explore other options like IVF later down the line.

It's so stressful isn't it when you hear that something isn't working as it should but I am hopeful that we will get there in the end 🤞

Will keep everything crossed for you too ❤️

Gizmo1983 · 24/04/2024 20:59

@kea1990 it really is. I’m intrigued now as i had my ivf consult yesterday and i told them my tube was blocked and he never mentioned removing the tube. I know that sometimes you can get ‘toxic’ fluid coming out of a damaged tube which is bad for the embryo you can also get a hydrosalpinx which I think may be the same thing but I may be wrong. I will msg CRP clinic and ask them what they think and also better ask my ivf dr as well don’t want to do ivf to find it wouldn’t work due to the tube xxx it’s never straight forward is it 🤯🤯🤯

kea1990 · 24/04/2024 21:03

I'm sure they will have mentioned to you if they felt it was needed, especially as neither CRP or your IVF doctor mentioned it 🙏 But definitely no harm in double checking ☺️ I guess all bodies are different and maybe our blockages are different or in different places and could impact things differently - sending lots of love xx

Gizmo1983 · 24/04/2024 22:07

@kea1990 aw thank you so much and wishing you lots of love too. I shall ask them just in case, with all of this I’ve learned it’s best to double check and ask questions just in case. It all tales a whole to process doesn’t it but at least once we know what we are dealing with we can move forward ❤️

Sunflower360 · 24/04/2024 22:22

@Gizmo1983 thanks, will see what happens. What clinic have you gone with for your IVF package? Are there any immune protocols they will be applying?

Gizmo1983 · 25/04/2024 07:07

@Sunflower360 yes we will be doing immunes with the clinic the only thing they can’t do is the intralipids and the hydroxy which I will get off Mr S and they are providing the rest. We have gone for the 3 cycle package with pgt a. We really struggled to decide between 1 and 3 cycles it’s all a gamble isn’t it. Xxx

fleur89 · 25/04/2024 11:26

My friend doesn't have immune issues but did have a tube removed as a teenager due to a large ovarian cyst rupturing.

She experienced no issues with only having one tube, conceived her first baby aged 34 on month 3 of trying and her second baby age 36 first month trying (she's currently 12 weeks along).

Her body adjusted and ovulated every month from her remaining side. The human body is amazing at adapting 💗

Gizmo1983 · 25/04/2024 15:03

@fleur89 thats amazing it just shows how amazing the body can be doesn’t it. I think it’s a shock when you first learn about the tube it definitely shocked/panicked me but now im just accepting it and going with the flow. Thanks so much for this story it means a lot and gives such a boost when it’s needed 😊😊😊

Gizmo1983 · 27/04/2024 12:55

Hi ladies looks like I’ve had a chemical 😢. I’m getting lines and defo had symptoms but they’re not getting any darker just staying the same. Am supposed to be going for intralipids on Monday ( already booked the flights so probs loose the money for them) but don’t want all that hassle for nothing. I did have symptoms and implantation bleeding still have the symptoms but the lines just aren’t getting darker so hope my period will just start soon. I’ve had such an upset stomach as well it’s been awful.
on the plus side just shows it can still happen with one tube, and ivf is already booked so got that to look ahead to. Love to all xxx

lozzmax · 27/04/2024 12:58

@Gizmo1983 I'm sorry to hear that. Are you doing your tests every 2-3 days? Can you post a pic of the lines? I had this recently and wasn't sure whether to do intralipids or not, I went for it because my lines were initially getting darker but something felt off and I was right, it didn't stick. Good news that it can happen with one tube, sending love xx

VenusStarr · 27/04/2024 13:02

Oh @Gizmo1983 ❤️ I'm really sorry to hear this. What tests are you using? Hopefully the lines will darken and all is well. Its awful to go through though. Sending you a big hug.

I think my af is due. I'm due back at work in Monday but very phased return so only a couple of hours.

I hope everyone is ok, I need to catch up on the messages x
