@elarcoiris your levels are not actually that bad, mine was 275 when tested last year, and my TSH is normal too. But I do think generally anything over the threshold is treated the same regardless of the values. Hope the new protocol works for you

Sunflower360 · 01/05/2024 22:19

TSH wise you want that under 2.5 ideally for fertility. Mine was under 2 when tested a few weeks back, since doing IVF though I've changed my diet up quite a bit so not sure if that's helped. Before the diet changes it was slightly over 2.5

elarcoiris · 01/05/2024 22:26

@Sunflower360 Thanks. Yeah, Prof S basically said that on the basis that two immune issues have shown up in the bloods, that is enough as far as he is concerned to do the full two phased protocol. I just hope it works — he spent quite a while talking about all of the stuff that is in the normal/good range and as much as that is good to hear, it doesn’t explain why we’re having the issues we’re having and it all feels like a lot of money to spend without more certainty.

VenusStarr · 02/05/2024 08:49

Best wishes for today @Sunflower360 ❤️ hope you're feeling OK.

Hi @elarcoiris do you have to have a repeat blood test for the humira injection? I found it quite overwhelming getting my results and treatment plan.

How are you @Gizmo1983 have you started bleeding? Hope you're doing ok xx

I started back at work on Monday, just did a few hours and more yesterday. I feel ok about it, don't know how it'll be going back to my full time hours. I think the antidepressants have started helping too. I did increase the dose. Thankfully have had no side effects like when I first started them.

Lots of love to all 💕

good luck today @Sunflower360 made sure I got the right day this time 🤪 got everything crossed for you xxx
@VenusStarr It’s honestly made me so happy to hear you’re feeling a little better and that things are all going in the right direction. Just take things at your own pace don’t push it. I think this little bit of sunshine we are having helps a bit doesn’t it?
@elarcoiris welcome to the group it’s such a minefield of information out there ain’t it I’m pretty new to it all myself and trying to get my head around it all is taking a while xxx
i finally started to properly bleed yesterday I’m so relieved. After the chemical I’ve just lived off chocolate and Diet Coke and I know I need to be on a good quality of diet if we doing egg collecting in June so giving myself till the end of my period to wean myself back into healthy stuff and supplements I’ve been taking these bloody supplements for 2 years now so figure a few days off won’t have done too much damage they haven’t made a difference in 2 years 🤪🤪🤦‍♀️.
got the invoice for the meds etc so going to pay that tonight and we are officially starting ivf excited and terrified at the same time. Still have to tell CRP we are doing ivf in June and I will have to get myself down there for the intralipids. 6 hours to go have a drip to get 6 hours back 😩😩😩if I’m honest I totally can’t be arsed but don’t have much choice xxx

elarcoiris · 02/05/2024 11:06

@VenusStarr He said we don’t need to repeat bloods as my levels aren’t that high so he’s confident that it will have come down sufficiently after the two injections. Hopefully means we will be able to get it in before my next ovulation and not have to delay TTC by another month 🤞

@Gizmo1983 Yeah, it’s quite a lot to get your head around, although I do feel better today for having a plan as had had a very underwhelming experience with the NHS, so feeling more positive overall.

Really pleased to have found this group as my TTC experience has been so different to everyone around me, and it’s nice to be able to speak to people who are going through similar and actually understand what I’m going on about. Thank you all for being so welcoming!

Sunflower360 · 02/05/2024 12:14

@VenusStarr @Gizmo1983 thank you! Had a double transfer of a 5BB and 5BC, went as good as it could go so will see what happens this time. If it does not work will have an EC in July to bank more if we can before doing more FETs. Am just going to try and forget about it this time and not look into symptoms etc and will deal with whatever result

VenusStarr · 02/05/2024 15:32

Keeping everything crossed for you @Sunflower360 how did your day 3 embryo get on? Glad it's all done now and you can hopefully enjoy being pupo 💕

Thank you @Gizmo1983 definitely feeling a bit lighter. I think the therapy is helping a lot too. We've booked a mini break at the end of the month, just couple of nights away but I'm looking forward to that 🙂
Don't be hard on yourself about your diet or supplements! This is hard enough. I know what you mean about travelling down to crp, its a trek for me but yours is double my journey.

@elarcoiris that's good news, hopefully it'll pass quickly and you can get going soon 🙏

OP posts:
Sunflower360 · 02/05/2024 15:35

@VenusStarr thanks, it turned into a 5BC so a lower grade embryo but the clinic described it as good/average so I'll take that. Then the 5BB was thawed.

VenusStarr · 02/05/2024 15:49

That's really good news that your day 3 made a good blast top @Sunflower360 🙂

Gizmo1983 · 02/05/2024 17:23

Hi @Sunflower360 that all sounds really good got everything crossed for you. After your transfer do you have to rest and take it easy or just get on with normal life. All the ladies I’ve seen on you tube seem to eat McDonald’s after their egg collection 😂😂😂.
@VenusStarr i was just randomly talking about miscarriages with a lady in the street it felt so good to just be able to talk about it. I’m so glad everything is lifting and also a mini break will do you the world of good. When we are older I would love to live in Spain part time I don’t think these long dark winters do any good.
shall I just tell CRP I’ve stuffed my face with eggs and edamame beans for a few days so I’ve done my own intralipids 😂😂😂😂 sorry that was naughty 😏
much love to all xxx

Sunflower360 · 02/05/2024 17:45

@Gizmo1983 Thank you. Just carrying on as normal as possible! Movement/walking is good for blood flow. Didn't have fries, ended up going for a brunch which was a bit of guilty treat but justified it as it had protein and fibre in the form of eggs, beans, mushrooms 😂 The sausages and bacon was an exception but I've literally not had them in quite a while and in all honesty I've been so strict with my diet and will be again now after that until test day I don't feel too bad! Wanted to treat today as a bit of an exception, each time we've done ECs and transfers we kind of make a day of it to make it a less tense feeling

Gizmo1983 · 02/05/2024 21:25

@Sunflower360 i think that sounds an absolutely perfect thing to do. You’ve got all your nutrients in there and your protein 😊😊😊. I’d read some studies that showed moving around was more beneficial than resting after transfer. Now it’s time for those 2 to get comfy 😊

Gizmo1983 · 09/05/2024 17:32

Hello everyone @VenusStarr @Sunflower360 @Rainbowsunshine81 @elarcoiris how are you all? It’s so nice to have a bit of sunshine isn’t it . How is everyone doing. @Sunflower360 is the time dragging?
not much really from me, I went from not bleeding to absolute floods of bleeding I was starting to panic it wasn’t going to stop. I’ve e mailed CRP about starting ivf in May but no one has replied. Does anyone know do you have intralipids before egg collection even though I won’t be putting one back in they are all being frozen if I’m lucky enough to get any.
that’s pretty much all from me. Not having the pressure of ttc and just dtd when we want is awesome it’s totally lifted my mood I think it’s what I’ve needed a month off has done me more good than I could have ever imagined xxx love to all xxx

Rainbowsunshine81 · 09/05/2024 19:21

@Gizmo1983 I had a second scan last night and the fluid has gone, lining was 8.2mm. So relieved, last nafarelin spray on Sunday, continue with the progynova and aspirin, then start the Cyclogest on Sunday. Have the first intraplids tomorrow and then we go to Cyprus a week today for the fet.

I'm not sure about having intraplids before egg collection as this will be the first time I'm having them. I know you have them a certain amount of time before an embryo transfer, then if you have a positive test, then you have them spaced out, I think approx every 4 weeks until you reach 12 weeks pregnant, which is when the placenta is fully developed.

Loving this sunny weather, doesn't half lift your mood 🌞

elarcoiris · 09/05/2024 19:45

@Gizmo1983 Hello! Not a huge amount going on here — had my first adalimumab last week and waiting until next week for the next one before I have my follow up appointment and start phase 2. Agree on the not having to think about TTC being quite refreshing. Hope you hear back from CRP soon — you’d hope they’d be more responsive given how damn expensive they are!!

VenusStarr · 09/05/2024 19:59

Hi @Gizmo1983 that sounds good, have to say I am enjoying the freedom of being spontaneous with sex. And I also think to myself we definitely couldn't do it like that if we had kids, so it's on my 'if it doesn't work out' list.
I'm sorry you had awful bleeding and that crp haven't replied about the ivf. If you're not doing a transfer, no need for intralipids, I didn't do them for my 2 cycles earlier this year.

I am starting to feel more like myself and a bit lighter and happier. I've even been thinking about doing ivf for our last go. Haven't spoken to dh about it yet.

I've also been doing lots of classes in the gym and doing weights, think it's really helping my confidence and mood.

Hope the injection was OK @elarcoiris did you have any side effects?

@Rainbowsunshine81 so pleased things are on track for you 🙌

@Sunflower360 hope you are feeling OK and still in the pupo bubble ❤️

Love to all xx

@VenusStarr I had to be very brave and do it myself as it arrived after my husband had gone to work and then we were going away for the bank holiday weekend so didn’t make sense to take it with us! But yeah, was fine once I put my big girl pants on and don’t think I had any side effects. I am feeling quite nauseous nearly a week later but am currently attributing that to a cold that I seem to have picked up on a plane!

Rainbowsunshine81 · 09/05/2024 20:20

@VenusStarr Thank you 🙂

Sunflower360 · 10/05/2024 06:48

@Gizmo1983 I'm ok, got an extremely faint positive 6dp5dt (took that test at 2pm) and then tested with a FMU from early this morning (admittedly it was not the full 36 hours gap between the 2 tests but wanted to use FMU) and its still a faint positive, I can't work out if its progressed or not. So I'm concerned its a chemical. Its the not knowing that's the hard part and tbh I shouldn't have tested early as I told myself I wouldn't but I wanted to know if it was a BFN as I had brown spotting and I thought my period was coming. Now I'm in limbo, OTD is not until Monday now

VenusStarr · 10/05/2024 08:29

❤️ don't be hard on yourself @Sunflower360 what tests are you using? It's a real head🤬 if there's a line you are pregnant. Try not to think too far ahead (it's so hard not to). Sending you lots of love xx

OP posts:
fleur89 · 10/05/2024 11:39

@Sunflower360 I find easy@home tests really good for tracking progression. And my SMU is always more concentrated than FMU for whatever reason.

Sunflower360 · 10/05/2024 14:22

@fleur89 @VenusStarr thanks both, will see what the next few days hold. I'll likely just wait until OTD now if I can, which is Monday

Gizmo1983 · 11/05/2024 18:22

Hi everyone
@Rainbowsunshine81 oooh all is looking very positive that’s a good lining 😃😃😃
@Sunflower360 got everything crossed for you it’s just all so hard. I’ve got everything crossed for you for Monday I truly have xx
@fleur89 I used the same tests they are really sensitive considering the price aren’t they
@VenusStarr so glad you still seem to be on the up it’s better having sudden highs as I think yiu are much likely to crash down again. I have a terrible issue with my right hip lower back, ironically it got tons worse after my d and c last June I think it may be sciatica I can barely walk on it and going uphill is just so painful I’d love to exercise I think it would do me the world of good. I’ve seen numerous consultants and physios Pilates etc but going to a spinal specialist ( private 😬) on Monday it’s so painful it’s ruining my life at the minute I’m barely getting any sleep with it.
must admit I am still loving this month off haven’t thought about ivf or conceiving at all this also means my diet is still terrible but I’m just hoping my much better mental state is doing me better than healthy eating lol. At least our vitamin d levels are being supplemented by some actual sunshine.
it’s coming up to a year soon for our 15 week loss. They are having a birthday party for my niece that day not sure how I’m going to cope tbh will just take it as it comes.
keep doing what you are doing. Lots of love to all ☺️xxx

Rainbowsunshine81 · 11/05/2024 18:39

@Gizmo1983 really pleased about it 😀 ☺️ hope you're OK.
