@Carportforme they said anything below 20% is normal
:) x

Jecca88 · 20/11/2024 08:06

@Meg310532 i think I could prob feel more supported by CRP- but then again could reach out more. But I do feel they have my best interests and genuinely really want it to happen for us. But I have always felt early pregnancy is just such a lonely place. I started testing 10 days and got faint positive and just got a really strong line today which will be 15 DPO.

@Carportforme yes I was told anything under 20% is considered normal. Dr S explained it’s such a fine line so even if it’s 21% it can affect it. Have you also been given progesterone?

recurrentmis · 20/11/2024 10:45

So I have just got a very faint positive line 10DPO. I wonder if 6th time lucky. I have contacted the team at Epsom as I am under Dr Shehata on the NHS to see if I need any medication prescribing as I have not yet received the blood test results from the NK testing! Hoping it's not all over in 2 days as is usual for me Sad

That’s really good to know and thank you for that.

I have been given progesterone for next time so that’s really helpful. I’m thinking that if the project brings my levels down to 11% that should be more than enough without the intralipids.
They are still mentioning the IVIG as an option but it isn’t an option at the price it’s at so I think it will be prayed and progesterone plus low-dose aspirin for me.

Scratch that it was a dodgy FRER. I think I'm negative this month

Carportforme · 20/11/2024 15:01

Thing that puzzles me slightly is why intralipids were suggested as well when the Pred alone brings my cytotoxicity down to 11%. Oh well, all very intriguing!

Meg310532 · 20/11/2024 15:47

@Carportforme they say that the intrapalids get rid of any toxins in the body too and he says it’s better to be safe than sorry

@Jecca88 so pleased you feel like they care :) I’m so anxious to start everything next month. I hope i feel like they are personable when I go for my scans etc! Is it Dr Shehata that scans you or does the nurse scan but he assesses it? I bet you can’t wait to have your first scan! I have absolutely everything crossed for you. Xxx

Ahhh that makes sense. Thank you. Not a lot I can do if I’m allergic but helpful to know what they do x

Those bloody FRER can be a nightmare. I am sorry this has happened. I have had this experience with them before. I have to say I have found that early, if it is a false line it tends to be faint but sort of straight and grey. When it is actually a very early positive it’s like a hazy cloud

Jecca88 · 21/11/2024 11:50

fingers crossed for you @Carportforme did you also say you were waiting on your partners DNA frag?

@recurrentmis im so sorry, such a mind f*ck - honestly going back to tests studying them - you mind can really play tricks on you too! Have you done another test? When do you get the results?

@Jecca88 yes we were waiting for the frag tests results which were all normal.
Spoke to consultant yesterday about not being able to have the intripilids and was told I might then want to consider the IVIGs.
Not a chance with the cost involved. I kind of feel that I am being punished for having a nut allergy to be honest, although I am praying that others’ comments are right and that the Pred reduces my bad stuff enough with the additional progesterone and low dose aspirin

Jecca88 · 21/11/2024 16:42

Ahh thats a relief the results were normal for dna frag @Carportforme
i have no idea what the cost is for IVIG. I actually can't believe they can't make it safe for peanut allergy sufferers - is it a may contain or does it actually contain - i know either way it will be dangerous for you.

Why don't you try the pred for three months and then review where you're at - hoping it works?

I know, think it’s something to do with cross contamination with the soya but hay ho… The IVIG injections or £2000 each and you have to have three or four. I think the first one has to be done before conception (although someone please correct me on here if I’m wrong).

This is fine I guess if you are having IVF because you know when the embryo is going back in but for natural conception, in our case, it might take six or seven minutes for me to conceive so I would be having to pay for at least one I think injection every single month which is a complete waste of money that I don’t actually have to start With.

Definitely going to try the pred and see whether it works. If I can save and it doesn’t work using it from BFP I might have to ask the consultant about trying from a few days past ovulation instead x

Jecca88 · 22/11/2024 18:02

@Carportforme that is sooo much money. I would ask if you can start the pred from day of ovulation if they are happy with that?

Newbeginnings22023 · 22/11/2024 22:15

Hi everyone,

I hope you’re all as ok as can be. I just had an FET and it was a BFN sadly :( it was all too rushed for my liking. I did a modified natural FET and the transfer happened 4 days after I did the trigger shot for a 5-day blastocyst. I guess they were worried I’d ovulate naturally?! Trying to convince myself that I would’ve ended up with a BFN no matter what.

This journey is so damn hard. Sometimes I feel it would just be easier to put this all behind us and enjoy life…

I hope you’re all ok @VenusStarr @Gizmo1983 and keeping everything crossed for you @Jecca88 xx

Gizmo1983 · 23/11/2024 14:39

@Newbeginnings22023 i think you’ve summed how I feel perfectly I’m so sorry it didn’t work xxx

I could and I was wondering whether that night be better. That said, from my research it seems there are quite a lot of consultants who prescribe from BFP. I think Dr S is absolutely on the money when he talks about the immune system not waiting for you to discover your pregnancy before attacking but I also think my consultant, for whom this is also a speciality, would have said if he thought it would make a difference and, to be honest, I'm not keen to have to start steroids every month for a couple of weeks. There have been about five months between my failed pregnancies so far so that's quite a lot of stopping and starting.
All that said, if it doesnt work from BFP first time, I will probably ask him about it. As it is, I have been told to test from 9 doo and start them at even a hint of a positive, Might be difficult with all the false positives a lot of tests appear to give, but..,x

Sorry to hear your news. You are so damn right about it being hard. What a fight we have! At least we have solidarity on here x

Meg310532 · 26/11/2024 19:18

How are you getting on @Jecca88 ? I have my first infusion on Monday at 9:30 and scan at 9 to see how my follicles are getting on ! Fingers crossed I have some big ones !!! Feeling so anxious and nervous. Xxx

recurrentmis · 26/11/2024 22:25

I've managed to get an earlier appointment with Prof Shehata so will see him next week now instead of in February to hear my blood test results. I did have COVID at the time of blood draw (I was maybe on day 10). Not sure if this could impact the NK cells?

Jecca88 · 27/11/2024 09:31

Thanks @Gizmo1983 how are you doing? been thinking of you.

Sorry to hear your news @Newbeginnings22023 how are you feeling? are you given yourself a break over xmas?

Fair enough @Carportforme stop and starting pred is not ideal. This was my third month of the stop start and now continuing as its positive. My resting heart rate has gone up by 7 bpm.

Hey @Meg310532 - I am doing ok, it is dragging and so slow, only 5.2 weeks :( i do feel more calm this time, but just convinced when i go next week for the scan i will see a blighted ovum. I know before the scan i will be a mess. Are you having a scan at CRP? good luck on first infusion, make sure you go hydrated as easier to find a vein and feels like it goes in better :)

@recurrentmis that's good news, hoping he will have some answers and potential treatment. Maybe just mention the covid and see what he says.

Meg310532 · 27/11/2024 10:43

@Jecca88 how much longer have you got to wait for your first scan?? It always seems to drag doesn’t it the first 12 weeks for me last time felt like 3 months!! Glad you are feeling a bit more chilled about it all though, have you done any more tests ?
yes I have got a scan at CRP at 9am Monday to check how my follicles are doing as on letrozole.
thanks for the advice regarding being hydrated I will make sure I do that.
xx

Jecca88 · 27/11/2024 15:17

@Meg310532 my scan is next Friday - honestly dreading it - wish I could just be out in a coma for next 4 months. Last test I did was last Thursday which was a strong positive - I am not gonna test anymore as my heart just can’t take it. So I’m going by that. I haven’t had any spotting in this pregnancy which a change from the last 5, so hoping that’s a good sign. Just holding onto the fact I can’t control or change anything that is happening right now in my body.
that’s good about the scan ahead of
intralipid - I am guessing that’s just to confirm if you can try naturally this month. What CD will you be on Monday? Are you gonna do the viagra also this month? X
