Hi ladies I thought I'd create this thread to support anyone doing ivf in May 2024, it's great to have other people to talk to going ture the same thing!
My background I'm 31 with low AMH of 3, suffering from secondary infertility 2.5 years ttc had a failed IVF cycle in February where my 4 mature eggs just failed to fertilized so we have been advised to do ICSI for our next cycle! I decided to give my body a break and get back into end of April/may depending on how my cycle returns:)

Hello! I’ll be having my 5th transfer in may. Also secondary infertility. Also borderline low Amh with male factor. Could never imagine to be in this situation with four failures :( (two miscarriages) I thought as it’s secondary I’d have it much ‘easier’ apparently not! Hey @Waitingforsummer25 oh wow 5th transfer 😵 that's tough going! How many embryos do you have frozen? Secondary infertility is so frustrating! Especially when it's just unexplained, its hard watching all your friends having babies so easily or your child been the only one without a sibling, I'm with Therapy fertility in Ireland how about you? X

Hello, so sorry I missed this! It’s so so hard, feel every thing you’ve meantioned. And to add salt to the wound my sister has just given birth to her second just a week after my miscarriage. My daughter seem very happy and has never asked for a sibling. I think she has some how cottoned on the the fact it’s a sensitive subject. I am having ivf abroad ( reprofit in Czech) so she comes the the hospital with us. I have 3 Frosties left but honestly don’t hold out much hope :( I wish in hind sight I had tested them but as I say with secondary I just stupidly thought I won’t need to and it would work within first two goes.

I had a difficult cycle in late Feb, went from 22 fertilised to just 2 viable embryos frozen. I was hospitalised for OHSS and I'm still not fully recovered, it's been traumatic. I'm secondary infertility too but my eldest is a teen. I have problems getting anything to stick (doctor said aim for 3 embryos per child) and so I'm trying to bank enough embryos for 2 children to grow up together before I can do a FET.

I seem to have lots of poor quality eggs. I did lots of supplements but my diet or exercise wasn't great with those eggs developing through winter. I have my review appointment soon and I'm researching what could help and hoping they'll change my protocol and be willing to try a few new things.

Hi, we're going to be starting our first round of ICSI in May (all being well).

We have our nurses information session on Friday to confirm timelines and protocol, etc.

We have primary infertility, male factor. I turned 33 2 weeks ago, OH is 36. We have been TTC for 2.5 years now with zero success (no BFPs ever, not even a squinter). We haven't told anyone that we are TTC, let alone about to go through IVF.

Have been told I am at a higher risk of OHSS due to have PCO.

It all still feels like a bit of a blur and not reality at the minute to be honest

Hi can I join, we were going to give up but having one last shot, secondry infertility here, AMH of 20, male factor, 2 failed rounds. Start stims middle of May.
We are going overseas for this one. The UK was just out pricing us, felt like trial runs, as the medication was very low. Hoping for a double transfer May.

Hey so sorry I didn’t see this. I’m really happy with reprofit in Czech. Everything from that actual ivf and test are just so much cheaper, but from my experience much better than what I had in the UK. Everything feels easy and organised! And doctors really know what they are doing. Not just money grabbing, theres a few tests I was going to have and they told me it’s not nessacery for me and pin pointed what is actually worth it. Going for 5th transfer next week!

@Waitingforsummer25 awww wow exciting times. Have you already had egg collection or is that being done now.
The clinic I have been using seems similar, no silly unnecessary tests and the plan seems more personalised than they have given, my medication arrives next week and then it's full steam ahead

Happy may day girls:) it's finally our month! I've started priming yesterday just waiting for AF to start the injections again, how is everyone doing?

@Waitingforsummer25 can I ask do you get your medications in Czech? We were very tempted to go abroad for our second cycle but thought it might end up more expensive with accommodation and buying medications 🤔 I always hear great things about Czech for fertility!

Hi, please can I join? I'm on day 3 of stims for our first cycle.

My husband has azoospermia (no sperm) so we are using donor sperm with ICSI.

I have PCOS and I'm at risk of OHSS which is something I'm quite worried about. I think I'm on quite a low dosage (125 iu Bemfola at the moment) so I'm a bit shocked at how bloated my stomach is already and I'm having the worst headaches. But so grateful to be finally starting IVF after 3 years of trying and investigations.

My last cy6i was on 125iu, yes the bloating is crazy isn't it, I have had to buy a full new loose wardrobe for this round as I didn't expect the bloat, but can be prepped this time.
I start stims on Friday so not far behind you

i am with reprofit and they have a pharmacy on site so got it all from there

Definitely cheaper overall! Especially if you end up with embryos to freeze. Transferring them again is significantly cheaper than UK. I paid £700 for FET.
i flew last week and return flights were £80 each. Accommodations can vary obviously. And the meals out there are so much cheaper and far better quality than what you get from a meal out in UK! So make it a mini holiday if you can.

Thankfully the weather has just got better and it's now acceptable to wear dresses because I think that's the only thing I'm going to fit in for the forseeable.

I hope everyone is doing well. I thought I'd join this thread as I'll be starting my 3rd round of ivf this month. I'm at argc now ( after 2 poor cycles at Create). I started down regs on Saturday 11th but no AF yet. Im doing ivf due to ectopics, but also found out when I started that I have PCO which is complicating things 😭

How's everyone doing so far? What stage are you currently at?

Hi everyone .. hope you don’t mind me joining !! Sorry to hear about everyone’s losses and failed tries. It’s such a hard journey. But we are all amazing for going through this !!

I also have had a previous round of ivf which resulted in 5 blasts,had one missed misscarage that came away at 10/11 weeks and two chemicals, have had missed miscarried and 1 chemical through natural conception .. so 5 miscarriage altogether, I am now 41 and started ttc with my partner at 36 so nearly 5 years ttc .. AHM is 14.5 … .just started a new round of ivf , had 1st injection of ovaleap tonight .. 300iu dose .. I thought this was quite high ??? Last round I was on 225iu dose ? Anyone on ovaleap injections and what does are you on ??

@hopefullsosbry I am on menopur 300iu so similar stim just different brand, I was on 150iu bemfola in my previous round, I'm on day 3 of stims and other than bruising I feel fine, have you started your stims yet

@Ecas88 sorry to hear about the 2 poor cycles! Did you just not respond well in them?
Hi @hopefullsosbry gosh them miscarriages must be hard! I had a missed miscarriage at a 12 week scan a few years ago it's so heartbreaking! I hope this cycle will be lucky for you 🙏
I'm actually on pergoveris 385iu dose so quite high but I've a low AMH of 3 it's probably lower now since it was checked last year 😵‍💫 I started them on Friday! So hopefully EC some time end of next week 😁

@Cloclo93 I respond too well to the medication due to amh of 53, so im on the other end of the spectrum, its way too high 🤦‍♀️ I'm yet to know if my egg quality is the reason for poor results or if I was given the wrong protocol, but I should know after this cycle. My first short protocol I had 28 eggs collected and only 1 frozen day 3, thr rest failed between day 3 and 5. Second short one they lowered my dose of stims and I got 24 eggs which resulted in day 6 blasts 4bb and 4bc so very average and I don't have much hope for them, my clinic didnt seem to either 😂. I'd like 2 more children so I'm banking blasts atm, I'm hoping the long protocol works much better for me and I get better quality than previous, I've heard a lot of women is similar situations to me with positive outcomes on long and I so so so hope it works for me 🤞otherwise i have really poorly egg quality due to PCO (partners had all the tests and he's fine)
Egg collection soon is very exciting! Will you have a fresh transfer? Did you get all the sperm tests as well to rule out issues there? It's so hard to know why things dont work until you have done multiple rounds 😅

@hopefullsosbry have you ever had your immunes checked? I've seen countless threads regarding miscarriages being due to immune issue and when they have taken the right medication that's when they were able to hold their pregnancies to term. Maybe something to look into?

@Ecas88 hi , sorry what’s immunes testing ? I have had lots of test done at the reacurrant miscarriage clinic but not heard of this one ? Partner has slight high DNA sperm fragmentation, and my missed misscarage they done a biopsy of what I passed and was triple x syndrome (which is from mother) so was a ‘duff’ egg with abnormal chromosome issues ..
@camelinastorm yes I started my ovaleap injections yesterday.. had a shot of decapeptyl two weeks ago also , so is this along protocol I am on? I am in Scotland and never really been told what protocol I am on but I hear and read people say they are on long or short protocols? Am not sure ?
@Cloclo93 so sorry for your missed miscarriage, it is so heart breaking when you see the positive line , we also had 3 early scans with one and each had a heart beat until the 4th scan was nothing, the fetus was always slightly small on each measuring so we should of really guessed but just thought it was really it that time .. yes we might have EC same time , although I am NHS and they don’t do EC at the weekend, they only do Mon -Fri ?? Not sure how that will work as I worked out I’ll prob be ready come Wednesday next week, is the trigger issued 24 hours after last stim injection? So say I go Wednesday to scan and they say yes good to go.. will I get trigger Wednesday night ? I can’t remember what I done last time haha 🙈

@hopefullsosbry I have no real clue on the diffe6in long and short, all I know is I take stims for about 10 days cetrodide for around 5 of these, then I'm in for egg collection next week, it's so confusing. We are only a day apart I ended up started injections on Sunday cd 2 or 3 we couldn't work it out due to this full flow stuff 🤣
