@SnookyPook i was like that with the midwifes too about jinxing it. Didnt ring till nearly 10wks. Had the official app today. She was nice but think she could tell i had my guard up. I was very negative. They know why tho. Just felt like ive been here before and it all went wrong etc so whats the point. Chgd the hospital to tomorrow. Midwife did say to ask them if they will see me till 16wks though cos of the bleed and needing to start aspirin The aspirins going to stop the bleed clotting and resolving so am gona be paranoid as fk not being monitored. She offered councilling too, said ill let her know lol bet your excited for tomorrow arnt you? Maybe a tiny bit nervous, but is that fading a little now?
@Jadeypie good to see you back. Was wondering how you were getting on with that new med. Sounds like its going well and what you needed. Must be a nice feeling your body doing what it should be doing after so long of messing you around. Can only be a matter of time until you get that bfp πŸ˜ƒ
@Westy22 the fact your lines are getring darker still is really good. Theres no rush to call midwifes yet, they see you between 8&10 wks , do it when you feel ready. Are you tempted to ask your gp for a hcg?

Sez281 · 29/02/2024 19:06

@Paws4thought I totally agree with you telling your mum, it's so important to have support when going through something like this 😒 Actually we had a talk about it and if the scan goes ok Saturday we're still going to tell our parents as if god for it something goes wrong in a few days or weeks or whatever then we'd be telling them regardless. I really think it's going to happen again for you soon xx

Ah @Jadeypie it's great to see you back from your little break! So sorry to hear you'd a bad AF but so glad to hear that you're feeling really positive, hopefully those tablets are a game changer for you 🀞

@Supertrooper101 I don't want to jinx it but today is the first day that I haven't had crippling cramps (yet) so I think the tablets might be starting to kick in with regards to the stomach acid (and also it turns out going to the toilet once a day isn't enough anymore and I need to go twice now πŸ€·β€β™€οΈπŸ™ˆπŸ˜‚) How you feeling about scan tomorrow?

@Westy22 yay for passing AF day πŸ™Œ take each milestone as a win! I know the cramps are so concerning, I was genuinely convinced AF was coming for a couple of weeks after my BFP but I do think it's "normal" for some people. Good idea waiting till then for scan too as it's horrible being in limbo if you go too early. I hope your OH has a nice surprise xx

@xxcxdonxx Im the exact same as you, I'm a total planner and would probably set a deadline for actively trying too, there's nothing to say you it won't just happen then πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ Are you taking the pessaries front way? If so I think they can irritate the cervix and can cause spotting so hopefully that's all it is 🀞

@SnookyPook so sorry to hear about your little bit of spotting too, glad it has t totally sent you through a loop though and I'm sure you're right and it is just irritation or something. Hopefully hearing the heartbeat tomorrow will be the best feeling ever πŸ’“ xx

@Supertrooper101 sorry I just read your update. That midwife sounds lovely. I get why you have your guard up, hopefully the walls come down a bit as each week passes! I'm a bit paranoid about the aspirin now too and my bleed, I must remember to ask them about it on Wednesday. I keep reading really positive things about taking it from 12 weeks onwards to prevent preclampsia etc.

I'm feeling a bit more happy and confident this evening. I'll probably jinx myself now 😣 But I've booked my NIPT blood test for 2 weeks time and also got the price list to stay under my consultants care privately, if the scan goes well on Wednesday I'll book in with her officially. She may not be the most empathetic doctor in the world but her reviews are amazing and I like her staff so I'll stick with her for my care

Supertrooper101 · 29/02/2024 20:03

@Sez281 i went to the loo afew times yesterday and felt quite light 🀣 it was bizzare.. do we not get this nipt test as standard then? She told me further tests will be done if the 12wk one comes back abnormal. I wonder if its that then too in the uk? Wouldnt you be under consulatant led care anyway being over 40 or does that not apply there? This is why i want to be on the aspirin but which side do you take, help the bleed or help blood flow πŸ™†β€β™€οΈ... always an obsticle int there lol.... doea the nipt tell you the sex of the baby too? Been watching a couple of foreign dramas and both had bloods at 8wks and part of the bloods told them the sex, i was like whhhattttt since when lol really good your cramps are behaving, they can be so scary and to think it can be acid or gas and harmless, its annoying to not know sooner isnt it lol

Sez281 · 29/02/2024 23:20

@Supertrooper101 we definitely don't get the Nipt as standard here (even when high risk) so I'm paying €460 and getting it done at 10w5d for peace of mind (we can also find out the sex with that blood test but don't know if we will or not 🫣) I think as I'm high risk because of age etc we do get more care and possibly consultant led but I've got health insurance that will cover half if I go private and there's less faffing around than in the public system so think we'll go for that if we get that far πŸ™. Had a little cramping tonight but not half as bad as it has been so do think that the omeprezol are working 🀞 Good luck with the scan tomorrow!

OP posts:
xxcxdonxx · 01/03/2024 08:57

@Sez281 yes that’s how I am taking the pessaries, you are right and it’s probably just some irritation. Glad to hear that your cramping has lessened, the meds seem to be doing the trick.

Good luck with your appointments today @Supertrooper101 and @SnookyPook

Supertrooper101 · 01/03/2024 10:48

@Sez281 thats alot of money haha youve got to find the sex out for that price lol will you get regualr scans being private then or are they just on call so to speak?

I asked to be monitored while taking aspirin for obvious reason (the bleed) and she said no lol she just asked why i even needed the aspirin. Am guessing shes not looked at my notes or int bothered. Oh half csme to this one so his manager side stepped in lol in the end she said she will speak to the dr and get back to me πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ.... different scan lady today. Gave us 3 pictures lol approx 11wk 😍.. cos i left it so long to book midwifes its going to take around 3wks for an official scan πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ oh said will go get private ones every two weeks. Will see ha.
@SnookyPook what times yiur appointment πŸ™‚
@xxcxdonxx you will have to try the pessaries up your bottom haha

xxcxdonxx · 01/03/2024 10:55

@Supertrooper101 that’s mad when the midwife suggested you be monitored? Hopefully you get some clarity soon!
Brilliant news on reaching 11 weeks though, that must be starting to feel more real now?
Oh I tried that when we were on holiday, I thought it might be less messy. It did not agree with me and I won’t be repeating!!

SnookyPook · 01/03/2024 11:10

@Supertrooper101 11wks! Oh wow that's fantastic! Haha you'll be like me. We've got a whole album of photos of this kid already πŸ˜‚ Shame you've got to wait for your official one now. Will they try and fit you in in time to get combined screening (before 14wks)? Is it starting to feel a bit more real yet?

My appointment is at 2... Whiling the hours away. Haha. Miserable day here today! I'm working on my sofa snuggled in a blanket πŸ˜‚

@Sez281 ooh I'd be so tempted to find out sex. As @Supertrooper101 says, you're paying good money, you might as well... Haha. I think it's nice you'll be telling some family too. Your reasons make sense but it's also lovely to feel a bit more excited and share some joy with people.

Supertrooper101 · 01/03/2024 13:04

@xxcxdonxx i honestly cannot amd do not want to imagine popping one up my bum no bloody way 🀣. I wish it felt real but it dosent. @SnookyPook receiptionist said they had until 14wks when the nurse tried to squeeze me in. She only tried to squeeze me in to get me of there books lol feels abit daunting no more scans booked in now apart from main ones. Doubt the nurse will call back today. Might call the midwife as the tv show says 🀣... shite weather here today tooday. 3°.. yay to march lol

SnookyPook · 01/03/2024 15:40

Healthy heartbeat! Phew! Also, midwife was lovely and said if I get anxious and need a listen in at any point, just to give them a ring. So hopefully that will tide me through until the 20wk scan! X

xxcxdonxx · 01/03/2024 16:08

Amazing news @SnookyPook Another 4 weeks and you’ll be half way, how mad is that?!

Sez281 · 01/03/2024 18:05

@SnookyPook Awww that's amazing! I can only imagine how emotional it was, hearing it makes it so real! πŸ₯° So nice of the midwife to say that too xx

@Supertrooper101 Your OH sounds all business which is great! πŸ‘ Can't believe you're 11 weeks. I know it probably seems scary not having scans for the next few weeks but they're obviously not to worried about the haematoma that much which is good? But feck it go get them privately like he said if it helps πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ The weather here is messed up. Massive snow storm for a few hours that wasn't predicted. Just turned to slush now though

I think I may have developed some sort of pregnancy related intolerance to wheat which is upsetting as bread is literally my favourite food but I think that's what's giving me the cramps now πŸ™ˆ We have private scan in the morning, I'm really nervous but trying to remain hopeful πŸ™

Amazing news @SnookyPook Another 4 weeks and you’ll be half way, how mad is that?!

Absolutely mad! Still can't quite believe it!

@Sez281 yes it was a big relief. I'd got myself a bit worked up about what if they can't find it but she pretty much said straight away 'I've picked something up' and then after a couple more seconds jiggling it came through nice and strong. She said a few times how lovely and strong it sounded. Such a relief! One of the mum's in my due date group had a scare at hers as the first midwife couldn't find anything and she had to wait for a second midwife to come in and rootle round for it! Thankfully all ok but not sure how I'd have coped with that!

Supertrooper101 · 01/03/2024 18:40

@SnookyPook dont think i could join due date groups, be abit too much for me i think lol how often do you see the mw now then? Your journeys been such an insperation, mainly the fact....u avoided ovulation. Makes me lol that still!
Nurse rang back suprisingly and said nope...no more scans, i think they fort i meant for like the next 30 wks lol which i didnt. But anyway agreed on keeping them going till i got my main one thr, so ges we met half way lol so basically i think i will have one more with scan lol
@Sez281 cant beleive bread is your favourite food lol what about all this gluten free stuff i see advertised, would that compensate maybe? Maybe youve had the problem all along...when the progesterone kicks in after ovulation, might trigger sumat in your body to cause the cramps you would get back then πŸ€”... how far do ypu think you will be tomorrow? Looking forward to an update πŸ™‚

Sez281 · 01/03/2024 19:15

@SnookyPook oh god I think I'd lose my shit if there was a wait like that and somebody else had to be called in. I can't deal with the 5 second wait with the epau till they find it 😣

@xxcxdonxx how are you getting on? Had the spotting stopped?

@Supertrooper101 Yay at least you'll get 1 more before the big one! You'll probably be classed as high risk too and be consultant led anyway after that? My GP said it's definitely the progesterone causing the cramps, I've just come to the conclusion that bread is aggravating it.. it's my own fault for being a pig the last few days... back to the ryvita! πŸ˜‚

I'm either 8+1 or 8+2 tomorrow, they've told me to come with full bladder but not sure if they'll see anything on external scan this early? πŸ€”

Just catching up 🀣

Good to hear you a good scan @Supertrooper101 hope your feeling more positive 😊 and also how nice hearing the heartbeat today @SnookyPook 😍

Lovely to have you back @Jadeypie glad your feeling positive πŸ™

Good luck tomorrow @Sez281 πŸ™ will be interested to hear how it goes as I'm thinking of booking a private one for 8 weeks if I get that far πŸ™ˆ think the one I've looked at also does transvaginal if needed.

Nothing going on over here, do you guys have many "pregnancy" symptoms? My boobs are slightly sensitive/feel heavy but I've not had the intense nipple burning I had first time round. Keep feeling a crampy/weird stingy stretchy feeling in my uterus every few hours, telling myself this is good as I didn't get that at all with the last which obviously didn't progress. Tested this morning at 15dpo and thinking I might give it a break for a few days to try and focus on other things coz it's dragging 🀣 I'm really not tempted to get bloods @Supertrooper101 as i had that last time with epu every other day and the anxiety was awful waiting for results x

Westy22 · 01/03/2024 19:49

I can also recommend some good gluten free bread if your interested @Sez281 🀣 i have no choice but to eat gluten free. My OH isn't intolerant but loves my gf Warburton tiger bread 🀣🐷

Supertrooper101 · 01/03/2024 20:25

@Sez281 the 1st midwife appointment, person told me that anyone over 30 is classed as old now. I was like wtf, really. Ok... πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ... at 8wks they will defo be able to see externally yeah, youl be suprised πŸ™‚
@Westy22 i wouldnt expect many more symptons at that stage, the boobs and pincy feelings are good ones tho x

Westy22 · 01/03/2024 20:35

@Supertrooper101 thank you, made me feel a bit better ha. Yep I'm in the geriatric gang too 😱 I used to watch one born every minute religiously and I can still hear a midwife saying how the older you get the harder labour is.....scared 🀣🀣 I don't even do pelvic floor exercise πŸ™ˆπŸ€£

xxcxdonxx · 01/03/2024 20:56

@Supertrooper101 well that’s something that they will continue to see you until the main scan, well done for asking.

Spotting just developed into full blown af @Sez281 I’m in such a mood too, so short tempered and hopefully it passes soon as I’m no fun to be around right now 😳
Good luck with your scan tomorrow, I would have thought it would have to be internal at that stage too. I’m sure it doesn’t feel the same to you but it doesn’t feel like any time since you got your bfp!

Those are lovely strong lines @Westy22 My pregnancy symptoms have always been really minimal at the early stages, some cramping or tiredness but that’s about it.

SnookyPook · 01/03/2024 21:07

@Supertrooper101 I joined it after the 12wk scan! Glad I have though. It's nice sharing the journey with others at the same stage. But didn't dare join before. I had to leave a group after my MMC last year and it was awful.

@Sez281 I had an abdominal scan at 7+2 and they picked up baby and heartbeat just fine.. and was only measuring 6+2! Was really surprised they managed that abdominally but they didn't even bother with transvaginal one.

@Westy22 heavy boobs and mild cramps were my only/main symptoms until about week 11! Oh, and gassiness haha.

@xxcxdonxx aw hope AF is kind to you and that your mood recovers soon!

Sez281 · 02/03/2024 07:43

@Westy22 they're great lines. Definitely a good idea to stop for a few days. I wouldn't worry about symptoms either. Apart from the cramping I think mine took another couple of weeks, and don't forget that some people don't get any πŸ€·β€β™€οΈπŸ€ž Think I might have to try that gluten free!

@xxcxdonxx oh there's nothing worse than being in a foul mood, knowing full well it's hormones but unable to stop it πŸ™ˆ Hope it passes soon! X

@SnookyPook and @Supertrooper101 that's good to know that they should be able to pick it up abdominally. It's in another couple of hours so I'll start lashing the water into me closer to the time. I've already told my OH that if there's big screens I'll get them to turn them off first and only turn them back on if good news 😣

@Jadeypie how are you doing? Do you feel like the new pcos meds might be working? I know it's only first cycle but will be really good if they regulate things so you know where you are! πŸ™ x

Jadeypie · 02/03/2024 08:08

Thanks everyone for the welcome back πŸ₯°

@Sez281 well I think so haha I've noticed a few things that I've been lacking the last few months so that's positive. I've not done any opk this month just thought to myself to take a break. What times your scan? You'll be OK xx

@SnookyPook lovely news. My first was in lockdown so I recorded his little heartbeat so I could show my partner I was actually listening to it the other day it's just magical isn't it xx

@xxcxdonxx sorry to hear about af and PM's!!! I can get like that and just have zero patience and want to just kill my partner for breathing haha crazy how hormones can make you like that! Xx

@Westy22 how many weeks are you? I'm sure you'll soon have all those pesky symptoms and hopefully u don't get the dreaded morning sickness. Ha xx

@Supertrooper101 wow that's flown for you too! Have you told anyone yet? What was the kids like when you told them? My sons three he's been going through this thing of being absolutely terrified of other kids crying it's starting to really become a problem in nursery! Imagine if he had a sibling poor kid would pack his bags and leave I think xx

Supertrooper101 · 02/03/2024 09:57

@SnookyPook did you try that fybogel or did it sort outself out lol
@Sez281 i wouldnt have even thought about asking them to turn the screens off until you knew. U well and truely have things covered mentally! Good luck πŸ™‚
@Jadeypie ive not told anyone yet. Not sure what am waiting for like but i dont know. Still got my guard up i guess. So all the kids are doing your 3. Yr olds head in lol gota be a boy thing lol mine would try to be louder than his sister or shut her down when he was that age lol might be a nursey thing as well, always fighting for attention maybe. Or maybe got newbies at his nurserys that his not used too lol good to get it out his system now though 😜
