TTC after early miscarriage

RaisingCornishWildlings · 24/10/2023 09:59

Morning!
So I sadly suffered an early miscarriage at 5w just over a fortnight ago.

We have 3 children already (6,4 and 19m) and I'm 40, hubby 47.

Lovely staff at EPU said crack on again as soon as I'm ready- and not to worry about having a period first.

I've always had pretty irregular cycles anyway and have never tracked ovulation (we have been very lucky and fallen pregnant super easily- and this was my first MC).

I think I have just ovulated (Sunday) which was 14 days since spotting (main bleed from miscarriage was Tues 11, Weds 12 Oct).

My symptoms were bloating on Fri and Saturday, and real drop in mood over the weekend (I've noticed this has happened a few times a couple of weeks before period since cycles started after DD was born), by yesterday my mood was much more stable again. On Sunday I had mild nausea and very mild cramping (more like little twinges).
We DTD Sunday night.

So have fingers crossed that something might have happened!

I noticed yesterday evening and today I'm peeing more than usual but apparently that can be a sign of ovulation too.

I'm going to be a crazy lady symptom
spotting for a fortnight now! Have a cervical screening booked for a week today (wondering if I should cancel it?!)

What's the earliest anyone has had symptoms after DTD that turned out to be early pregnancy? And how many DPO have you got a positive?

@Claudiasaz don’t worry about needing to talk.
are you sure they’re af cramps?
the cycle I conceived I had pretty bad cramps, particularly in my back just like af at around 9DPO, turns out it was likely implantation.

you’re not out until af arrives

Claudiasaz · 30/01/2024 20:51

@Ncl31 Thank you ❤️❤️ I cramped with mine too but honestly can't remember the level, weird how you forget stuff?!! Wish I'd written it all down 😂

This feels like my period to be honest. Absolutely hate this part of the month..I know I'll feel better once I'm in the flow of the period. Sigh. X

Ncl31 · 30/01/2024 21:10

Yeah it’s the most difficult isn’t it.
im currently 2DPO, the next 12-14 days can’t pass quick enough. DH is working some weird shifts the next 2 weeks too so I’ll hardly see him. He usually distracts me so I don’t just think about the TWW during the TWW.

Claudiasaz · 30/01/2024 21:24

My husband is rubbish with the tww to be honest barely acknowledges it. To be a man 😏

I was really surprised to get flashing smiley on CBOPK this morning, 16 days after MC (it actually made me cry 😢).
HCG is looking completely negative.

Now I've just got to get DH on board with SMEP as timing appears to have been our downfall on our TTC journey 🤞

Ncl31 · 31/01/2024 07:22

@Claudiasaz he just didn’t mention it and we’re usually pretty busy, I’m sure he plans things on purpose which is good I guess.

@123456789ss fingers crossed for you

emmatcc1 · 31/01/2024 10:03

Hello joining here. Currently waiting if my mmc will clear out on its own. This one took us 17 cycles to conceive so hopefully it won’t take as long again.

ThelastRolo20 · 31/01/2024 10:13

@emmatcc1 sorry to hear about your MC, mine cleared out by itself at 12 weeks (day after my scan funnily enough!). I hope you're doing okay, it's always such a shock

@Claudiasaz really hoping they aren't AF cramps, and if they are that she makes an appearance soon x

Ncl31 · 31/01/2024 10:16

@emmatcc1 so sorry to hear about your MC, mine resolved itself at 7+5
I just ovulated at CD31 which incidentally is the same day I ovulated in the cycle I conceived.
currently 3DPO. It took us 26 months to get that first BFP so in a similar situation and I’m praying it doesn’t take as long second time around.

i hope it all resolves itself for you

Claudiasaz · 31/01/2024 11:03

@emmatcc1 I'm so sorry ❤️ I had medical management so can't help but here to chat x

Claudiasaz · 31/01/2024 11:03

@ThelastRolo20 it feels period like. Why 7 days after. I'm sick of getting screwed over by my hormones lol

ThelastRolo20 · 31/01/2024 11:07

@Claudiasaz that's so frustrating if it is. If AF doesn't show for a couple of days though it's definitely worth doing a test!

Claudiasaz · 31/01/2024 11:28

@ThelastRolo20 It's probs just screwing with me let's be honest. I'm just ordering a treat coffee regardless. I'm done 😂😂 How are you xx

Holly0609 · 31/01/2024 13:25

Thank you @ThelastRolo20 @miamiamia869 @Claudiasaz @Ncl31 @mumsince2021 💗💗💗

Absolutely praying this is the one!

I haven’t tested again yet but I am going to get some tests on Saturday and test then 😂 xx

Claudiasaz · 31/01/2024 13:57

We are right there with you ❤️ so pleased for you. How things can change in a few weeks 😘 @Holly0609

ThelastRolo20 · 31/01/2024 14:15

@Claudiasaz I've come done with a horrible virus so more time off work. My boss is very understanding but I just want to get back to normal! Have treated myself to a new Fitbit though to help motivate the weekend running (hoping it drags me off the sofa 😂)

Claudiasaz · 31/01/2024 19:49

@ThelastRolo20 oh gosh just what you need. Enjoy the time to relax and recover. Is your little one at nursery? X

ThelastRolo20 · 31/01/2024 20:47

@Claudiasaz yes thank goodness, she loves it there too which makes everything easier. She'll be in tomorrow and I'm going to attempt logging on (with daytime TV to keep me company). I have Fridays off with her so hoping I feel better by then ❤️ any sign of AF?

RaisingCornishWildlings · 31/01/2024 21:07

Hey guys sorry I've been a bit quiet!

@Holly0609 so happy for you, congratulations (tentatively), got everything crossed for a sticky and healthy little bean! Keep us posted:

After DH's awful behaviour on Sunday night we managed to have a quickie (the most unromantic sex ever 🤪) on Monday morning and I think I'm now on 2DPO. So the bloody TWW again!

@ThelastRolo20 I envy you your positive upbeat attitude!

X

Fab so you can properly rest and get better! 😄

Not yet but not due yet anyway, so I know it's just a matter of time.... 😭

Blueskies4 · 31/01/2024 21:13

@Holly0609 congratulations lovely news 🥰 I agree on waiting until the weekend to test again too if you can xx

i ovulated super early this month and already spotting on cd13… what my bodies up to I don’t know! All the more reason to focus on myself and having fun I guess and hoping everything with my cycle will fall back into place..

Claudiasaz · 01/02/2024 09:28

Definitely going to get my period I'm spotting now. What I don't understand is how can things be getting worse? Surely my hormones should be regulating.

This is the point every month where I think it's too much and I should just accept I'm meant to have my two. Hoping to get something back from my bloods that can help 😭

ThelastRolo20 · 01/02/2024 09:38

@Claudiasaz oh that's so frustrating - why don't our bodies just behave!! Hopefully your bloods shed some light on what's going on.

@RaisingCornishWildlings Glad you managed to get a quick session in! TWW is not very fun but hopefully it goes quickly.

I'm trying very hard to not wish away my life until May, but it's so difficult. I keep telling myself though that I want to give it the best chance possible and waiting until then will do that (and allow for a stress free holiday). Only 3 cycles to go.....

Claudiasaz · 01/02/2024 10:08

@ThelastRolo20 I never imagined I wouldn't be pregnant by now. Really struggling with this new challenge and it's starting to take its toll if I am honest 😔

ThelastRolo20 · 01/02/2024 10:14

@Claudiasaz I was the same, especially after such a straight forward first pregnancy. I just assumed all would go as well the next time, so when I got pregnant in July I thought that was it! Even when I miscarried in October I thought "well as long as I'm pregnant by the due date (28th April) then that's okay".

Obviously getting pregnant straight after and that also not working out means I won't be pregnant by then which I never imagined. It's why I'm struggling with the holding off vs trying again as soon as possible. I just keep telling myself that if I got pregnant in the next couple of months, and it didn't work out, I would kick myself for not having a slightly longer break.
