I can see lots of TWW threads for end of April but I thought I’d start one for any of us who are 1dpo in early May.

I’m 1dpo today. Fourth cycle of trying for second baby. Ovulation day came a week early for us this week, but we DTD 3 times in the fertile window so I’m hopeful.

I don’t remember getting any early symptoms with my last pregnancy.

I usually test waaaay too much. So get ready to see loads of iffy faint lines -ha!

What about you?

Yes I know what you mean, it does feel better starting over again

Maybe. I dunno if they’ll suggest I stop breast feeding tbh.

@HavinKittens I spoke to my GP about this and they have said breast feeding should effect anything, thankfully.

Im also ok Im feeling a bit meh as I still have no answers to what is happening and im so bad with the unknown :(

I hope you are ok

PollyDarton1 · 21/06/2023 11:03

I'm on something nuts like CD36 or 37, but all indicators seem to suggest I was ovulating on C35! I've had all the usual symptoms come on like crazy since in the lead up to my period, which I assume is about 10 days away.

We DTD on O-day, a couple of days before that and then again 2 days afterwards, not having a clue what was going on, so if something sticks, so be it!

HavinKittens · 21/06/2023 11:46

@Soph2512 thanks, I’m okay. Hope you’re taking care of yourself after everything that’s happened.

I don’t know whether I would have to stop bf to be able to take any medication to help ovulation. I will report back!

@PollyDarton1 so the start of the TWW for you! Hoping we can hear some good news soon(ish) ✨

Based on my personal experience but I would recommend stopping breastfeeding, although I appreciate the emotions involved and fact it's a personal decision.

I was still breastfeeding when I fell pregnant (caught first cycle) with my MMC in January and my doctor said it's much harder to sustain a pregnancy in this situation as hormones are not playing game in the typical way.

When you breastfeed it suppresses both oestrogen and progesterone, which is why for a long time after giving birth you don't ovulate / have a period. Some people obviously can conceive when still breastfeeding and everyone is different but it really does have an impact on your hormones. I've had so many blood tests of late and it's only now that my hormones have finally settled and I'm experiencing a normal cycle. A friend of mine also struggled to conceive when still breastfeeding - had 3 miscarriages and tests revealed low progesterone. As soon as she stopped breastfeeding she conceived and carried to term.

Just my two cents but I do know how much of a personal decision this is.

fleur89 · 21/06/2023 11:54

To contradict the above I do know people who have tandem fed and had a great experience. But if hormone levels are a bit off you could be someone (like me!) who had issues with hormonal balance until you stop

Soph2512 · 21/06/2023 11:56

@fleur89 How interesting that we have been told two separate things when it comes to breast feeding. I may bring it up again, I am still breast feeding my 19 month daughter and I cant see her stopping any time soon :(

Soph2512 · 21/06/2023 11:59

@HavinKittens Im ok thank you, Im just trying to keep busy! easier said than done though! also waiting for my results is making my anxiety through the roof

fleur89 · 21/06/2023 12:32

Yes it is strange, I reckon everyone is different and some people are more sensitive than others to breastfeeding. You hear about some women getting periods back relatively early on and others not getting them back until several months after they stop.

HavinKittens · 21/06/2023 15:27

Yes I’ve heard mixed things from many women. Some have only had a successful pregnancy once they’ve stopped and some have become pregnant before their periods even returned. As you say Fleur, I think it’s different for different bodies and it’s a very personal decision.

My little boy would be pretty sad about stopping, and he’s super clingy at the moment so I don’t think now would be the right time. We’ve cut down to twice a day but he does go on for ages. I think it is something I will work toward but over months probably.

@fleur89 i meant good xx

CinderRosie · 23/06/2023 08:26

How is everyone getting on? @Soph2512 do you get your results today? Fingers tightly crossed for you if so.

I'm CD8/9 and got a flashing smiley on CB Digi this morning and we DTD last night so my fertile window has officially kicked off!

PollyDarton1 · 23/06/2023 10:08

Hi @CinderRosie, I'm 5 DPO, some little symptoms here and there but it's so like how I am before AF is due that it's hard to see any difference. My boobs are sore (particularly nipples!) and I've got some cramping but not much else.

Going to try and hold out until 8 DPO before doing internet cheapie testing and have some Boots for later on. Hurrah for DTD, fingers crossed you'll get something sticky!

Soph2512 · 23/06/2023 10:33

@CinderRosie i feel like I’m never going to get them! 😂 the receptionist keeps making excuses on why they haven’t been seen by the doctor as they have Been back since Wednesday 😳🙄

how are you feeling xx

HavinKittens · 23/06/2023 17:21

Hi all
I had strong nausea this morning so almost thought about testing but didn’t have any in the house and decided it was more likely the oysters we ate yesterday 😂

CD9. Who knows what day I will ovulate this month. It was cd15 last month.

I spoke to a GP about my test. They didn’t seem as informed as the first GP I saw. They started talking about referring for IVF at 9-12 months of TTC and saying it would need to be private. I questioned wouldn’t we try other things first eg ovulation stimulating medications. They said we would still need a referral for those but agreed they’d be on the nhs.

Anyhoo they suggested we do another progesterone to see if it’s low again, and if it is then they’ll maybe refer earlier (?! This wasn’t clear).

Soph2512 · 23/06/2023 19:13

@HavinKittens well done for not testing today ☺️

defiantly try and speak to the first GP again. When will they do the next test?

I have just started getting brown discharge so I assume I will be having another miscarriage. 👎

HavinKittens · 23/06/2023 20:10

@Soph2512 some bleeding, especially old blood, can be common in early pregnancy though right? How are you feeling generally? Any cramping? It
must be scary whatever the cause, Hug x

re the test - I’ve got it booked for early July as it depends on my cycle. Might have to move it if I ovulate late.

@Soph2512 do you have the NHS app ? If so you don't have to speak to the docs for your results, they appear immediately on your app. I hope that can help a little, it sounds like a really tricky time!

I've had some tests done for short cycles and cramps. The scan showed everything normal and bloods showed testosterone slightly higher than normal so will ask about that next week. Anyone else had this ?

@CinderRosie is it weird to wish you luck for this window 😅

Soph2512 · 24/06/2023 05:08

@HavinKittens I have Cramps too so it looks like it’s normal if you have no cramps. They aren’t painful but are defo there. I don’t know if I should call anyone and log it or what to do as doctors are closed.

@Goldie1234 i do have the app but the results are sat with the doctor to comment. So aren’t on the app yet.

PollyDarton1 · 24/06/2023 07:56

@Soph2512 I had brown blood discharge with my DS, fingers crossed it's just a bit of left over implantation bleeding.

I'm 6 DPO and had a big temp spike this morning, on a day I thought I'd get a dip for implantation 😂 To be fair I missed doing my BBT on 3 and 4 DPO but I think that's too early for implantation?

Soph2512 · 25/06/2023 05:24

@PollyDarton1 i have no clue about BBT sorry. But I do know that it isn’t common but you can implant early.

unfortunately we ended up having a miscarriage, so I’m back on CD2 now and will be joining you all this month again ☺️☺️

Goldie1234 · 25/06/2023 07:29

So so sorry @fleur89 I hope you can have some time for yourself and that next month will be a better one !

Goldie1234 · 25/06/2023 07:30

@Soph2512 meant to tag !*

HavinKittens · 25/06/2023 07:52

I’m sorry @Soph2512
hope you’re doing okay considering, it’s crap xx
