I can see lots of TWW threads for end of April but I thought I’d start one for any of us who are 1dpo in early May.

I’m 1dpo today. Fourth cycle of trying for second baby. Ovulation day came a week early for us this week, but we DTD 3 times in the fertile window so I’m hopeful.

I don’t remember getting any early symptoms with my last pregnancy.

I usually test waaaay too much. So get ready to see loads of iffy faint lines -ha!

What about you?

@confuzzzzzled ha, I know what you mean. I feel like we try as much as we can manage leading up to ovulation, but after that I am DONE! Glad the surgery went well. Hope it goes the trick.

Morning all. Anyone symptom spotting yet?
I had a headache yesterday… which means nothing at all of course 😂

6dpo here, I’m going to start testing on Saturday morning which will be 9dpo.

Optimistic66 · 10/05/2023 09:53

i’m convinced i’m imaging some cramping…. 😩

i can’t believe i’m only 6DPO, think i will test at 9DPO even though it’s early! 😩😩

Optimistic66 · 10/05/2023 09:53

imagining

confuzzzzzled · 10/05/2023 09:55

I’m symptom spotting like crazy! Had so many twinges in my left ovary, and had insomnia the last few nights which isn’t like me - I’m normally such a heavy sleeper!

Hazelnuttella · 10/05/2023 10:20

I haven’t had any twinges or cramping but I did really struggle to sleep last night too

I hate the waiting 😕
Hope it happens for you soon.

I’m going to be staying at the in laws when AF is due… I hate being away when I’m on my period at the best of times!

CinderRosie · 10/05/2023 11:36

Hi all can I join?

I've never been on a TWW thread in my life. I'm 36, married to DH and I have a DS already who is 18. This is our first cycle of TTC, it might sound insane but I was really anxious about having unprotected sex for the first time knowing I could get pregnant so we only managed to DTD once in my fertile window which was 2 days after I got my static smiley on CB Digi/one day after Flo predicted O, so I am not sure our chances this month are good which I am now kicking myself for.

I think I'm 5-6 DPO today, going to wait until 19th May to test which is when AF is due. I usually get spotting before AF so I'll know if I'm out probably by this time next week.

I keep imagining cramps/twinges, boobs are slightly tender but that is normal for me and my BBT dipped today but again that happens on months we aren't TTC!

Good luck everyone x

HavinKittens · 10/05/2023 11:47

Hey everyone! I’m also 6dpo and itching to test. I’m going to test on Saturday at 9dpo too @Hazelnuttella & @Optimistic66 . That’ll be an exciting day for the thread! Hope we see some lines.

Welcome @CinderRosie honoured to have you on your first TWW thread! It only takes once to make a baby.

I never notice any symptoms really. I don’t think I’m in tune with my body enough! I have noticed my BBT is going up and up but don’t think I can read in to that.

Come on the weekend!! Can’t wait to pee on a stick 😂

Those of you able to wait until AF day are impressive to me!

confuzzzzzled · 10/05/2023 11:59

Trying to hold out until AF is here but I have a night out planned for the day she’s due so I think I’ll be testing a bit earlier with the hope I need to find an excuse to stay in 😁

HavinKittens · 10/05/2023 12:15

Ha @confuzzzzzled , I live for an excuse to stay in! I make big social plans and then regret it later.

OP posts:
CinderRosie · 10/05/2023 12:47

I'm sure once I start seeing you all testing I'll be tempted to 👀I just don't want to get obsessive over evaps or faint lines whereas if I wait until AF is due there will be no doubting it... I'm also a bit scared of having a chemical.

HavinKittens · 10/05/2023 12:56

I totally get that, I spent last cycle obsessing over indents on FRER and it is crushing when you realise that’s all they were. I think the temptation is strong for me as I remember getting quite a strong positive with my first baby at 10dpo.

I’m also scared of a chemical or miscarriage after experiencing that in Jan this year. Going to take things one step at a time.

Me too! I’m happiest spending my weekends on the sofa with a takeaway

Soph2512 · 10/05/2023 13:28

Hi all, I hope you dont mind me joining too.

We have been TTC Baby number two since October 2022, We have had one Chemical in January.

I am currently 3DPO today and for the first time actually super nervous.

This is also my first comment / thread

HavinKittens · 10/05/2023 13:45

Hi @Soph2512 , thanks for joining us!

I’m sorry you had a chemical, I don’t think other people understand what that’s like until they’ve experienced it.

I hope having some company and a place to vent will ease your nerves. I know it helps me to chat. Hence I am always here replying haha!

HavinKittens · 10/05/2023 13:47

So, ladies of the thread, I was wondering if you’ve told other people that you’re trying to conceive or whether you’re keeping it private?

I’m hopeless at keeping things to myself so I told other people months ago. I don’t think my family/friends feel like they can ask me how it’s going though.

OP posts:
Soph2512 · 10/05/2023 13:51

I know its so hard isn't it, I have found its not spoken about enough or people just don't understand.

Yes defiantly, how many DPO are you?

We have been fairly open with telling a few close friends but that's it. Only really one of my friends actually ask regularly how its going etc and i would probably tell her when we finally do get pregnant

HavinKittens · 10/05/2023 13:54

I’m 6dpo today and it is DRAGGING! I’m not great at taking my mind off the count down.

I’m getting my progestrogen tested by GP next cycle if we don’t have any joy this month.

OP posts:
Soph2512 · 10/05/2023 13:58

The TWW is the worse bit isn't it.

That's really good they are testing you, I was hoping my doctor would send me for bloods too. I might try and push for it actually.

HavinKittens · 10/05/2023 14:36

I think the rule is one year of trying for under 35s and six months for over 35s but I think a reasonable GP would get the ball rolling earlier if you’ve been trying almost that long (sorry if you know all this already).

OP posts:
CinderRosie · 10/05/2023 14:36

@HavinKittens We haven't told anyone we are TTC. A couple of friends know it's on the cards, if I told any family they would keep asking questions and I'm quite a private person. Ideally I'd want to get pregnant and then get to the 12 week scan before announcing anything to anyone at all.

Nice to see I'm not the only newbie on their first ever TWW thread @Soph2512 , how exciting x

Hazelnuttella · 10/05/2023 15:20

I’ve told a couple of close friends that we’re hoping to have a baby next year, but nothing more specific than that.

With my first I didn’t tell anyone, but I think it’s not a huge surprise that we’ll probably want a second baby at some point.

foulplay · 10/05/2023 19:01

8 days post ovulation here. Not holding out much hope for this month. I've got sore breasts, but that's usual for me at this time in my cycle. I'm also an unstoppable beast when it comes to food at the moment, which is unlike me, so who knows.
