@Floralsandsmiles eeek thanks lovely - appreciate your support ❤️
@AussieMum888 im taking 2000IU, the normal recommended for most people is 400IU but I had some bloods a few years ago for a separate reason and my Vit D came back deficient so I opted to get 2000!
@AussieMum888 @Floralsandsmiles theory behind the grapefruit juice is purely from my intense google research at 2am when I can’t sleep so the following info is from that! One of my problems is that I don’t ever notice any discharge around ovulation, so I wanted to see if there were any natural ways to increase it so I could notice it and know exactly when I’m ovulating. The idea of drinking grapefruit juice to help promote cervical fluid from the thought that grapefruit juice contains furanocoumarins - so my hope is that it increases my CM!
When I did some further digging just to check there were no downsides or potential harm, I found another bonus was that grapefruit is also high in folate which can help regulate ovulation and support egg quality.
And then I also found out that antioxidants found in citrus fruits, such as vitamin C, can boost sperm count - although my OH hasn’t had any tests and we have no reason to believe his sperm count is causing any problem at this point, I thought what’s the harm in him having a cheeky glass too!
so from yesterday we are drinking a glass each a day up until after I ovulate. I think the last 2 points I made on egg quality and boosting sperm count isn’t specific to grapefruit and is just any citrus fruit containing a lot of Vitamin C - but bonus we were already drinking grapefruit juice for the hope it increases my CM.
sorry for the long message! Xxx
