2023 TTC 35+

VixFromThe6ix · 24/02/2023 01:42

Hi everyone!!
Wanted to start another group thread for those TTC that are 35+.
When I was first trying, this group helped me a lot. We bonded and went through pains and celebrations together. I had two MCs over 2yrs of trying and lots of crying as I was typing many of my posts. Support helped... Especially at this age.
I had my first baby Jan 2022 and here we are now trying for baby #2.
I'll be 40 this summer!!!
Join me and share your story ☺️

@BengalMama I honestly can't even imagine. Its a horrific thing for you and your partner to have had to go through.
I just looked it up here www.mumsnet.com/Talk/conception/4229105-Acupuncture-for-fertility

BengalMama · 26/02/2023 20:53

@Floralsandsmiles keep us updated with when your static arrives! Ill keep my fingers crossed for tomorrow Xxx

@Darcy86 Welcome and sending baby dust for the tww! ❤️

BengalMama · 26/02/2023 20:55

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 ❤️ Thank you so much, that will be my night time reading tonight! I love reading other people's stories, gives me so much hope. Xxx

Thank you, will do! Want to look into acupuncture too and see if it helps me! Xxx

That was for @LeopardLover :)

I thought when u choose to reply it automatically replies to the person in the post lol 🤔

I think you're right to put those feelings aside because we never know how long things will take anyway! I stopped breastfeeding (well... Exclusive pumping) at 14 months with DS and he still doesn't sleep through the night, sooo 😅

You never know, it might be quicker this time around! Fingers crossed.

LeopardLover · 26/02/2023 21:12

@BengalMama I'm so sorry for all your heartbreak, you are beyond resilient! Sending you so much positivity and hoping you get another BFP in the near future. It's really touching to read your story and I'm so glad you got to spend some time with your boy. Also intrigued by your vitamins, I need to look into bee pollen and royal jelly!

@AmyA64@AmyA64 As well as Pregnacare conception I take Omega 3 and CoQ ubiquinol but only 100mg as I don't have any known fertility issues and haven't been advised to take them. Then during the TWW I'll be taking Calc Fluor tissue salts.

Floralsandsmiles · 26/02/2023 21:16

Anyone have any experience with zita West vitamins? Xxx

Hi ladies, can I join?
I'm 35 (36 in july) TTC #2. DC 1 is 13 and didn't TTC, so with all intensive purposes, this is my first time we are trying.

I can off the implant last September and although TTC without tracking, this is my first month tracking.
I'm on CD20 and my 9th day of a flashy smile on CB. It's doing my head right in!!

I had EWCM yesterday and BBT went up this morning, but no rise in LH. I am super emotional today too. What is going on! 😳 😔
Xxx

Welcome!! Of course you can join :)

That flashing smiley way would drive me crazy...I'm going the old fashioned ovulation stick with test lines way lol I'm better if I see it.

Also having a weird cycle..... Super low LH for 5 straight days. Cd15 today and 0.17 LH level. This never happened before so now I'm panicking that I'm not ovulating??

O I hear you! I'm worrying about things I never thought I would! Have I missed my ovulation? Have I had a month without it? If I did in the next few days, will that mean a shorter luteal phase and therefore even be able to support a pregnancy? I'm a nervous wreck! Xxx

Hello, would love to join also. I've a 13 month old son, and @VixFromThe6ix I was on the old 35+ thread with you and we got pregnant at the same time. Hope you're well!

I just stopped breastfeeding after he turned one to try to give me a better chance to conceive again. I'm 38 now. Hoping it will happen soon!

@BengalMama I am so so sorry to read what's happened to you. Wishing you all the luck and hope you're recovering okay. I had acupuncture after a much earlier loss and I was pregnant within six weeks. I started a thread on it at the time and loads of people said it helped them also. So hope it works for you

Hiii ☺️👋
Nice to see a familiar name!! How have you been?? How's motherhood???

I can't bring myself to stop BF completely yet. Do you think that's gonna make it difficult to conceive? I got my period but started testing again for the last 5vdays and LH levels are so low.... Never seen that before and it makes me worried

Same. Exact. Thoughts.

Cycle 1 so I gotta stay positive. Last one was a long journey, hope this one won't be quite as emotionally draining 🤞🏻

Did you stop pumping to increase chances to conceive?? Now I'm thinking if that's something I need to worry about. I didn't have plans to stop BF yet.... It just saves me so much headache during bed time and night wakes....

@VixFromThe6ix I've been really enjoying it! He's lovely. How about you?

I don't know re the breastfeeding. Ive been on a ttc while breastfeeding thread and there were a quite a few miscarriages and chemicals. My periods have been back for a while but my luteal phase was very short, which apparently is common with breastfeeding. My partner and I decided to stop feeding once he turned one to see if that would improve

TrudyProud · 26/02/2023 21:38

@VixFromThe6ix what OPK are you using that tells you your specific LH levels? I'm part of the smily face crew 🤣

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 I think we are on the same TTC while BF thread. Reading all the other posts is part of the reason I'm using OPKs to make sure I'm ovulating before I start TTC. It's such a minefield

Hi all, I’m 37 and trying for no.2. I’m also still breastfeeding and do want to stop but finding it hard as my son gets quite grumpy and I end up giving in. We’re on month 2 of trying which is how long it took for our first child but I don’t think we’ll be as lucky this time. Best of luck to everyone.

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 26/02/2023 21:46

@TrudyProud I think we are. It is a minefield isn't it.

@VixFromThe6ix one good thing with giving up breastfeeding is he now sleeps 7-7. We combined it with his dad settling him and putting him down for bed and a couple of nights of Ferber

BengalMama · 26/02/2023 22:13

@LeopardLover Thank you so much ❤ and I love your name! Sounds like you are doing everything possible to get yourself ready to ttc in May, I look forward to reading about your journey, sending so much positivity your way!

@VixFromThe6ix I get low levels and then suddenly they just rise! I test too much in the run up 🙈 just to keep an eye on the levels! I'm sure you will start rising soon 🤞

That is really scary.....
I feel like I might have a short luteal phase this cycle as I have not ovulated yet

I'm finding it hard to stop breastfeeding cause he's always asking for it no matter how much I feed him solids

@VixFromThe6ix Nooo, unfortunately I caught COVID and my supply completely plummeted. I took it as a sign to slowly wean! I never expected to last 6 months expressing let alone 14 months. I'm hoping things will be more straight forward with baby #2 and I get to breastfeed the traditional way!

I use easy @ home ovulation kit along with premom app. When you plug a picture of the stick into the app, it tells you a reading based on the colour.
Here's one with peak reading from the cycle I got pregnant with.

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 I am really enjoying reading your acupunture thread! Interestly, I also had a period similar to yours when I first started. Really interesting to read everyone's experiences and happy endings! I have my session today at 2.30, looking forward to it, always a nice way to start the week.

We had a counselling session today so I'm feeling a little emotional, everytime I need to talk about our loss it feels like a wound being pulled open, really glad I booked my acupunture session for this afternoon.

Hope you are all well today and for those in the tww, another day ticked off the wait! 💪xx

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 27/02/2023 14:43

@BengalMama oh that is so weird, maybe it is common when the hormones are rebalancing! I definitely think it helped me, but it's impossible to prove. But it's nice also to take the time out for yourself.

I've three friends and colleagues who had still births or very late term miscarriages (and one a tfmr) in the last 4 years. Two of them had taken a long time to get pregnant, and all were very stressed and worried it wouldn't happen for them again on top of the grief. All three have one or more baby now. Just some more happy endings to add. I know I'd be so desperate to go again with the ivf and the waiting must be hell.

X

@VixFromThe6ix I think I need to get some of those ovulation tests. I can't quite bring myself to temp and go to all that faff again, but it's not like we're having anywhere near as much sex as we used to, especially as we're living with relatives at the moment while renovating 🙈
