2023 TTC 35+

1000 replies

VixFromThe6ix · 24/02/2023 01:42

Hi everyone!!
Wanted to start another group thread for those TTC that are 35+.
When I was first trying, this group helped me a lot. We bonded and went through pains and celebrations together. I had two MCs over 2yrs of trying and lots of crying as I was typing many of my posts. Support helped... Especially at this age.
I had my first baby Jan 2022 and here we are now trying for baby #2.
I'll be 40 this summer!!!
Join me and share your story ☺️

Hi!!!
If it was up to me I'd wait a bit longer because he's not sleeping through the night and I'm still breastfeeding. And truthfully I feel guilty bringing another baby and taking attention from him. But I'm trying to put feelings aside and think more realistically. Age is definitely a factor and the fact that first one didn't come easy so I'm not expecting to get pregnant on cycle 1....
If I was like 35... I'd wait till he's 2 and would have liked a third but ya not likely for us.

That was for @LeopardLover :)

I thought when u choose to reply it automatically replies to the person in the post lol 🤔

@AmyA64 I'm just taking prenatals and supplement to increase milk production as DC is still latching on several times a day and night

Thank you @VixFromThe6ix ❤️ also sending baby dust to everyone here!

Currently 7dpo so staying hopeful but I think it does help to know we are only a few months away from more IVF as well. Helps keep my mind occupied, even if I'm getting obsessed with my bbt chart 😂

VixFromThe6ix · 26/02/2023 17:31

@BengalMama I love all the tools we now have to track ovulation but like you said it's so easy to get obsessed with the process.
I did before and I'm sure I will again now that I started tracking again lol like the lighting for the photos had to be perfect and same every day, tracking at the same time no matter what (I'd literally avoid schedule meeting at 11am cause that was when I go test 😂🫣), looking at my charts, comparing to other charts...omg... It was like a second job 😂

BengalMama · 26/02/2023 17:41

@VixFromThe6ix You are so right, I'm already concerned my fertility friend app is giving a different ovulation day to premom but trusting my temps! Actually laughed out loud at your comment about the lighting, I must take 4 attempts to record each opk just to be absolutely sure it's recording the right value 🤣 even when I'm also using CB digital opks...its mad but it does give me a sense of comfort at the moment.

I also started acupunture this cycle, mainly at my OBs recommendation as a way to help me relax and hopefully help regulate my cycles which it does seem to be doing.

VixFromThe6ix · 26/02/2023 17:53

@BengalMama that's one thing I always wanted to try (acupuncture). Everyone who said I should all felt it helped so I hope that will be the case for you, too. I might look into it as well this time around.

Hi ladies, can I join?
I'm 35 (36 in july) TTC #2. DC 1 is 13 and didn't TTC, so with all intensive purposes, this is my first time we are trying.

I can off the implant last September and although TTC without tracking, this is my first month tracking.
I'm on CD20 and my 9th day of a flashy smile on CB. It's doing my head right in!!

I had EWCM yesterday and BBT went up this morning, but no rise in LH. I am super emotional today too. What is going on! 😳 😔
Xxx

Floralsandsmiles · 26/02/2023 19:10

Out of interest how much does fertility checks costs? I won't be able to go through this NHS as we already have 1, but don't know if we should check if there is something wrong.. 😔 xxxx

Mummyme87 · 26/02/2023 19:15

@Floralsandsmiles your GP will do fertility testing, like basic stuff, FSH/LH/progesterone/thyroid and possibly sperm analysis. We are looking at £500 for a couples assessment plus £200 for the initial consultation.

Will they? Even if we already have one and its second infertility?
Forgot to mention I am taking:

  • coq10
  • DHA
-Folic acid
  • Iron
  • magnesium, zinc and calcium

Am I missing anything? Someone told me I should take vitamin D too? Xxx

Mummyme87 · 26/02/2023 19:22

Yes @Floralsandsmiles I have two children and had all of those done and a scan. She said they can refer to fertility specialist but I’m going private as it will take forever and they won’t do anything

Mummyme87 · 26/02/2023 19:22

I take CoQ10, zinc, vit C, vit b complex, omega 3 and Concieve Plus

Aww OK, thank you for this! Do you have to be trying for a certain amount of time etc? Before being seen by the doctor? Xxx

Thank you for your message too! Ooo I haven't heard of all the others! What do those ones do? Any you'd recommend? Xxx

BengalMama · 26/02/2023 20:11

@Floralsandsmiles I've only really started them this year since my loss but my IVF consultant seemed happy with what I was on. The ubiquinol is the active ingredient in coq10, I do find this has given me more energy in general. The Royal jelly, bee propolis is meant to help with egg quality, some interesting papers online relating to success with IVF results! This cycle my ovulation was earlier with a strong peak and I had a great thermal shift with my temping, so maybe the pills, maybe the acupunture? Hoping that by the time my next egg collection comes my all this tlc will pay off!

Where are you in your cycle? ❤️

Hello, would love to join also. I've a 13 month old son, and @VixFromThe6ix I was on the old 35+ thread with you and we got pregnant at the same time. Hope you're well!

I just stopped breastfeeding after he turned one to try to give me a better chance to conceive again. I'm 38 now. Hoping it will happen soon!

@BengalMama I am so so sorry to read what's happened to you. Wishing you all the luck and hope you're recovering okay. I had acupuncture after a much earlier loss and I was pregnant within six weeks. I started a thread on it at the time and loads of people said it helped them also. So hope it works for you

Aww OK, this sounds good! Maybe I should give these a go too.. any brands you'd recommend?
Well done for all your hard work! 👏 you are amazing, giving yourself the best possible chance!

I'm CD20 and have yet to ovulate! I'm day 9 of the stupid flashy face on CB! Xxx

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 Thank you so much, that's really kind ❤️ it was absolutely soul destroying and at some points I didn't think I would make it through the grief but the hospital did everything they could to help him stay, he was just to early. We got to spend days with him as I recovered from thr infection, will always cherish those memories. Now I try to remember that the grief is just a reminder of how much I loved him. I'll have to have a look for your thread! I'd love to read everyone's stories, at thr very least it definitely feels like it's helping me cope and move forward.

@Floralsandsmiles I just got all of mine from H&B, thank goodness for their buy one get one half price! Also can usually find 10/20% discount codes as well! The ubiquinol I get from amazon, I'll post a picture of it when I get upstairs (got a cat sat on me!). I know how frustrating those flashing smileys can be but stick with it, that status will appear! The IVF clinic recommends the pink ones so I tried them for the first time this month but I was terrified of missing my peak with it only picking up the 2 days! I'm sure your static will be here in the next few days! ❤️

Darcy86 · 26/02/2023 20:40

Hello 👋 keen to join also! I'm 36 and ttc no.2. Took us 7 cycles with number 1, who is turning 2 this time next week unbelievably - it's gone so quick! I'm in the 2WW at the moment, aiming to test in about 10 days or so if no AF. I've got long and irregular cycles and didn't get a positive opk until day 24 this month so it's always a bit of a surprise - it was day 19 when I conceived my son so I can't really rely on just timing it. Sending everyone well wishes and baby dust.

Aww thank you @BengalMama ! This is really helpful. I can imagine the IVF clinic saying the pink ones! Cuts out the flashing smiley face! Lol thank you for all your help! Xxx
