August cycle buddies

Hi all, thought I'd start a new thread for those starting new cycles.
I'm on CD5, so only stopped my period today.
I have PCOS so ovulation is rare.. I had my first ever positive OPK last cycle so fingers crossed.
I'll start testing for ovulation at CD7ish and then every 2 days (last month was CD27 so could be a long wait haha).

@EdinburghGirl1 no problem. It was so nice having the support through the last cycle, but on the other thread I couldn't keep up with who had BFPs and who was on a new cycle 😆

@NiceToChat88 this time around I've only been actively trying since the last cycle.
I have a 7 year old son who was an IVF baby after a few years of TTC.
I did fall pregnant accidentally since then but it wasn't meant to be - but at least I know I can fall naturally now.
My OH had a vasectomy before I met him (my DS is with my ex husband) so we're using a donor too which is difficult because I can't predict my ovulation 🙈

@NiceToChat88 yes it is disappointing. I'm ok, a bit upset but I'll be fine. Although my OH could tell I was a bit off so I told him and he said "don't be silly you don't need to get upset" great thanks for that

@EdinburghGirl1 My OH is the exact same, I got really upset last month and he said "you're being ridiculous" I think in a way they don't get so obsessed with the constant ovulation tracking and wondering what else they can do to better their chances so it doesn't feel as bad for them when the test comes back negative. On the other hand though I think it's good to have someone level headed and realistic because I really do work myself up sometimes and obsess a little too much 😂

Mines the same. They don't understand the emotion that goes into it. It's so hard for us women, it's a yearning.
I think in a way they play it down to try and help, but don't realise that sometimes we just need to be upset and have a cry to feel better.

@NiceToChat88 @Sj2505 yes very true. They don't spend every day tracking and knowing where in cycle you are and obsessing over everything your body feels. They are oblivious to what's going on whereas it's us who gets our hopes up about it etc. it's so much on a woman isn't it, cutting out alcohol, cutting down caffeine, taking the supplements, trying to relax, exercise, track timings etc and deal with all the hormones. I have no patience too lol. The guys definitely get it easier

Hi ladies, can I join please? Just finished AF and will be TTC #2 this month. Going to just go for the as much as possible plan for two weeks as that worked with DD who is nearly 1 before going down OPK / tracking etc but I have a rough idea (I think)

Completely agrees it’s mainly on us, reduced the coffee now, the vitamins etc.. fingers crossed for all of us for this cycle!

Hello!

Im CD8 of my third cycle TTC #1.
I have been doing my ovulation tests since the day AF ended, premom app told me to do it ha! Testing twice a day (again because premom told me to 😂)
The line on my ovulation test this morning is as dark as my 4pm line yesterday so we are heading in the right direction! I ovulated CD10 last month so it’s quickly approaching!

Trying to relax more about TTC this month, boyfriends birthday is mid August (just after AF is next due) so i think planning his gifts etc is keeping me occupied elsewhere and we are just enjoying DTD again! I don’t know about anybody else but the last two months it felt more of a chore and had to be done rather than fun as it used to be! Think it’s because of the pressure i put on myself.

Got my smear this morning, nurse said it would be fine because it’s before ovulation.. see what she says when i go in!

@Fran919 welcome!! I think I'm going to ditch the OPK kits this month and relax a little, I've been so obsessed with tracking everything the last few cycles I don't think it's helping!

@LauraA31 eeek, not long until ovulation get DTD 🤣 I usually ovulate around day 10 too, how long are your cycles?

They certainly have it easier. I just said my OH "now I've come off you know I'm going to start going baby mad again" 😂
I have to try to time unpredictable ovulation and donor availability, it's a minefield for sure.

@LauraA31 hey, we were both on the last thread weren't we? It's good to go through cycles with familiar names too!
I'm going to be doing OPK every two days when I get home from holiday so will be around CD7, I'll also be tracking BBT and CM.. apparently that's more reliable with PCOS.
Great to hear you have some distractions this month ✨

@LauraA31 24/25 day cycles for me! I think my LH surge comes on really quickly and I ovulate quite fast, I tended to always DTD in the middle of my cycle and maybe miss ovulation so plan of action for this month is to start right after AF finishes and continue through from there

Thanks for the new thread! Hope everyone's feeling ok, I had a really low week but I'm feeling positive again now. This is my last chance to be pregnant before my original due date so I'm anxious about that but what will be will be!

Is anyone trying anything different this cycle? I've decided to try taking vitamin b6.

@NiceToChat88 my LH levels rocket within a day or two, yesterday i got low on the clearblue and today flashing smiling face.. then yesterday on the premom app i was at 0.51 and today 1.0, I will ovulate in the next couple of days 🤞🏻
Keeping everything crossed for you! Our first month we missed the days too, we DTD in the middle of the cycle as i used an app to help (without putting any data in) and we missed ha!

@Sj2505 yess we were on the last one together, i agree it’s nice to see some familiar names! Fingers crossed for you this month, have you gone anywhere nice on holiday? 🙂

The distractions are helping a massive amount! Then im working through my TWW so that will keep me occupied. Keep letting myself think how nice it would be to give the boyfriend a BFP for his birthday!

Afternoon ladies!

I got my peak smiling face on my clearblue just 10 minutes ago, my easy@home line is darker than the control line too! Expecting ovulation tomorrow now 🙂
Told the boyfriend and he said ‘shall we do it now?’ i told him to bugger off because ive got to go to tesco ha- im far more relaxed this month!
Planning on DTD tonight, tomorrow and the night after (when im home from work) to make sure we cover key days! DTD last night too with pre-seed so hoping that we have a good chance.

@Sj2505 I bet it’s red hot in Kos! Im glad you have had a lovely holiday, and you’ll be coming back all refreshed and relaxed which i hope helps the TTC battle! X

Ladies!!

AF is due today and she is usually clockwork first thing in the morning so just done a test. Very faint so not sure if this is maybe a chemical as surely if period due today it should be dark? Although missed period not classed until tomorrow so not sure? Any help would be appreciated.

That looks like a pretty sure positive to me 😍
Did the lines come up within the time frame? Do you have any symptoms (not that symptom spotting is reliable, as we are all too aware!)

@Sj2505 yip lines came up right away! I've been having period cramps for over a week now, no other symptoms that I've noticed other than peeing more often but I've been trying to increase my water in take so could just be that!
