August cycle buddies

Hi all, thought I'd start a new thread for those starting new cycles.
I'm on CD5, so only stopped my period today.
I have PCOS so ovulation is rare.. I had my first ever positive OPK last cycle so fingers crossed.
I'll start testing for ovulation at CD7ish and then every 2 days (last month was CD27 so could be a long wait haha).

I'd definitely say that's a strong positive ☺️
Can you get your hands on a digital?

I am 1DPO today, peak ovulation test on Tuesday so predicated ovulation day was yesterday.
I already have a feeling that this is going to be the longest two week wait!!

@LauraA31 time definitely drags but I hope you can keep yourself busy and it's not too bad and you get the great news at the end

Hello everyone! Hope it's ok to join, I'm only on 2dpo and already thinking about test day, it's our first month using ovulation tests but about our 5th month trying. How many dpo is everyone else? X

I am also thinking about test day, when do you plan on testing? I’m hoping to hold out as long as possible this month, I have no tests at home so will need to go buy some.

Hi @may111 and welcome. AF just arrived today so CD1 of cycle 3. Was actually relieved for her to come as I knew I was out and just wanted to start fresh cycle. Today would have been 15dpo so I seem to be getting quite long luteal phases.

@LauraA31 this is brilliant. Best just take it a day at a time and keep busy but easier said than done

@EdinburghGirl1 Sorry AF arrived! Hopefully this is your cycle.

I know this won’t be anything pregnancy related at 2DPO but my boobs are super tender. I can’t even stand the feeling of my t-shirt against them without a bra, and my bra is making me cringe! My left boob seems to be the most tender and actually hurts a slight bit- could this be a good sign of ovulation actually happening?
i never get tender boobs so this is out of the ordinary!

@LauraA31 definitely sounds as though hormones are raging somewhere, so a good sign of ovulation.

@EdinburghGirl1 sorry to hear about AF - but I know what you mean about being thankful. Sometimes when you 'just know', you just want to be able to crack on with the next cycle!

I'm on CD10 and doing OPKs every 2 days.. yesterday was -ve
Last month I didn't ovulate until CD28 though!! and even that came out of the blue!
I've started taking Conceive Plus ovulation support to try to regulate ovulation, so hopefully it might come a little sooner this cycle.

@LauraA31 😂😂 I always feel so patient for the first few days then it hits me haha
But ya that sounds like good signs 🤞🏻🤞🏻

@Sj2505 yes absolutely. Wow CD28! How long are your cycles usually. I have very short cycles. Was only 25 days last month so I'll start OPK CD7 I think as got peak CD10 last month. I didn't expect so early as when TTC#1 it was more like CD13/14. Hopefully the conceive plus helps for you

@EdinburghGirl1 my cycles are completely irregular. Sometimes I don't get AF for a couple of months.
I was so shocked to get EWCM and then a positive ovulation test last cycle as I've never had either.
I just hope that Conceive Plus helps my body to settle into some kind of routine. At least with the very clear ovulation symptoms last month I know what I'm looking out for this time.
CD11 and negative OPK again. I started getting symptoms at CD24 last cycle so I'm not expecting miracles just yet.

How is everyone doing?

@Sj2505 I am only 3DPO but have the sorest boobs, i know it’s not pregnancy related but completely out of the normal for me.
I don’t even get tender boobs during AF! My right nipple is giving me hell today and my left tenderness is a lot less than yesterday, almost as if my left boob has said ‘i had her yesterday, you’re turn today rightie!’

I still have spots popping up, again something unusual for me, normally spots appear during AF and then not again until the month after. I’m absolutely shattered too, I slept loads last night and could happily sleep until tomorrow 😴

Im taking it all as a positive that any hormone change has happened and thinking it could be a good sign for ovulation. I usually get nothing so im super happy; although tender Ha!!

Hi everyone,

Hoping for some company this month! I am on cycle 3 of TTC no1. Had a chemical last month and have just finished AF with only small amount of pink spotting still. On CD 8 today and my AF is normally 4/5 days maximum so has been a bit different this cycle but I suspect due to chemical. Trying not to put too much pressure on this month as I have a holiday planned without DP which should fall in TWW if I ovulate at my normal time but if ovulation delayed we may miss our chance!

A relaxed month with a holiday sounds perfect.
When do you usually ovulate? Will you do OPKs this cycle?

@Sj2505 I haven’t used OPKs yet at all but do check CM and can tell fairly well from EWCM I think. I’m not going to OPK this month as don’t want to be obsessing over not ovulating at the right time if it doesn’t happen pre holiday! Last month I had EWCM days CD 10&11 so I think ovulated CD 12 or 13 and also tested positive for Covid CD 12 so was v surprised to get BFP but wasn’t to be. Prev cycle I ov CD 13 or 14. Fingers crossed for similar this month but not feeling too optimistic with longer AF.

Are you using OPKs this month? I will maybe try them in September if no joy this month.

@MissDottie that sounds like a good plan! I only noticed EWCM for the first ever time last month, I was so excited haha!
I'm monitoring it but I've read that Conceive Plus can reduce CM. I'm doing OPKs every two days. It seems that cheapie ones don't pick up my ovulation as they all remained negative last month, but luckily I was also doing CB digitals which picked up the the high fertility and the peak which matched my temp changes too, so hopefully seems reliable!
I started getting faint twinges very very low down yesterday, almost felt like it was in my cervix so hopefully some hormonal changes are starting!

Hello everyone - may I please join? AF arrived for me today, so CD1 of cycle #3 TTC.

First couple of cycles I didn't track precisely but turns out everything was well timed for cycle #2 which is a little disappointing not to have had success.
Is it possible to ovulate / peak a little before EWCM?

@NatGee welcome! I think some women get EWCM throughout fertile window, so it might be that you noticed it towards the end of the window. Depends on your body really. I noticed EWCM on the Tuesday night and didn't get my peak until Saturday, so mine was several day beforehand 🤷🏻‍♀️
I track everything I can but only because ov is so rare and sporadic for me.

@Sj2505 I see, thank you, I am wondering if I keep missing the window? I get a LOT of EWCM but only notice it when a literal puddle of it is sat on my knickers and it only every happens once a month. I am sorry for oversharing, but prior to TTC I always thought this was the day I ovulate. Last cycle, we began BDing on that day but it might have been too late, hence my question.
For this cycle ill be monitoring my BBT and mucus, in addition to progesterone hoping Ill have better luck xx

@NatGee no such thing as oversharing here, we all need to at one point or another ☺️
BBT is very reliable. I tracked mine last cycle and had a very clear rise and drop over ovulation.

Oh yes, I started a couple days ago and my temperature plummeted just before AF arrived. I had hoped it was implantation but it dropped again today and AF is here in full force. Amazing how clever our bodies are
