August cycle buddies

Hi all, thought I'd start a new thread for those starting new cycles.
I'm on CD5, so only stopped my period today.
I have PCOS so ovulation is rare.. I had my first ever positive OPK last cycle so fingers crossed.
I'll start testing for ovulation at CD7ish and then every 2 days (last month was CD27 so could be a long wait haha).

@LauraA31 I'm so happy for you! Sounds like the line is getting stronger! Is this your first baby?

@Sj2505 it’s is our first baby, now we have the positive (although super early) it’s like ermmm now what haha…

@LauraA31 haha, yea it's a bit of anti climax for the first few weeks 😆 unless you get sickness, that's always a delightful reminder that somethings going on haha. Wait until you've missed your period then call the GP, they will get you to go in and pick up a midwife pack - I loved filling in all the first forms with DS1.. that's when it will all start getting real I think

@LauraA31 that's great it came up so quickly and is so strong. What cycle was this again? Now the excitement can start. With my DD I only took 2 tests a day apart then didn't ever take any more.

@Sj2505 oh no! What a morning to be having. Have the symptoms dissipated somewhat ? If you were further along I'd say potential implantation but yes sounds a bit too early xxx

@Sj2505 I'm sorry I have no idea what might be going on? It seems too early for implantation. Could you be coming down with something?

@NatGee @EdinburghGirl1 I've been doing some research and apparently there's such a thing called Secondary Estrogen Surge. It's the last of the estrogen leaving the body ready for Progesterone to hopefully take over. So although it's not noticeable on a lot of charts it's quite normal. I don't know that that amount of drop is normal, but we'll see I guess.
Probably doesn't help that I'm sleeping so badly at the moment!

Yeah I've heard things like lack of sleep can affect bbt. I don't temp so don't know loads about it all

Had to make a tough decision this morning and tell work, i won’t say exactly what i do but i have a job on the frontline dealing with quite violent people on the daily… I didn’t want anybody to know so soon as so much can go wrong but can’t risk anything happening as ive been assaulted several times and have a roll around almost daily!
My own parents don’t even know yet but had to put stuff in place to protect me.

AF is due Wednesday, do they like you to have missed a full cycle before you call them?

@LauraA31 that is a tough decision but sounds like the right one. You have to look after yourself and the baby from the get go.

I have no idea if you have to wait until first missed period. I can't remember when I called the doctor exactly. No harm in waiting a few days anyway. The first appointment with midwife is around 8 weeks. Or it was for me but that was 6 years ago.

Hi everyone, I am new to this forum and read this whole thread and thought I'd maybe join?
First of all congrats for the BFP @LauraA31 !
I am 35, my other half as well, and we are this month is our 5th cycle TTC#1. I have cycles that last around 25 days. I ovulated on day 11 of my cycle (positive opk on day 10) so I am at 11dpo today and for the first time this cycle I have some hope as I have been feeling a bit different.
My symptoms (I am trying to not overthink too much but it is so hard!)

• Since 7dpo: tender breasts (but i have this every month) and feeling "burpy" (that's new)
• Since 8 dpo: light cramps
• Since 9 dpo: feeling a bit nauseous after eating or exercising
• And since yesterday I also have a bit of pain in my lower back (used this as an excuse to get a massage from my other half 😁)

I don't want to get disappointed so I am trying to keep my hopes low but I can't help feeling hopeful... AF is due on Wednesday and I am on holidays abroad so I haven't tested yet!

That does sound hopeful, but I understand your want to play it down, that's what I try to do.
When are you home from holiday?

@Londongirl87 welcome to the group. Sounds like your cycles are similar to mine. I ovulated CD11 last month and 25 day cycle too. I'm hoping those symptoms are positive for you. Do you know when you might test or are you waiting for missed period?

I'll be back home on Monday night (13dpo) and I have early response cheap tests at home so I might test then, if AF doesn't come by then - or shows a sign of arrival (I always have a day or half day of very light spotting just before my period starts so if that happens, I'll know I am out for this cycle!)
How is everyone else doing today?

I also have 25 day cycles and ovulated on CD11, AF for me was due Wednesday also! this month i had tender boobs from ovulation, light cramping 7-8DPO and was shattered throughout it all.. how strange we are the same cycle length/similar symptoms!

@LauraA31 it's very reassuring for me that you too ovulate early and got your bfp. Hopefully it's 3rd time lucky for me too

Evening ladies, took another first response this evening and got another line so tried my luck with a digital expecting nothing…

10DPO and got this result with evening urine 2 hour hold, is it common for this to show so early?
Boyfriend is terrified of twins as they run strong on my mums side of the family 😂
still trying to not get too excited as we are super early..

hope everybody is doing well tonight and keeping as cool as possible, it’s absolutely red hot in the house so going to sit in the garden where the temp has dropped!

Those are great results @LauraA31 it could be that you implanted quite early therefore giving a stronger result than some might have.

I'm just back from a nice dinner out with my DP. Good job we DTD this morning as probably way to full tonight 😂

12dpo today and my boobs are no longer sore (still heavy) so I am losing hope for this cycle :-(
Still feeling gassy and a bit nauseous and having lower back pain, and I am looking forward to taking a test tomorrow. Even if it is negative, it will be better than the overthinking and hope!
