Hi all, thought I'd start a new thread for those starting new cycles.
I'm on CD5, so only stopped my period today.
I have PCOS so ovulation is rare.. I had my first ever positive OPK last cycle so fingers crossed.
I'll start testing for ovulation at CD7ish and then every 2 days (last month was CD27 so could be a long wait haha).

@LauraA31 morning. How are you feeling today? Any new symptoms?

I was sure I would get a static this morning after my flashing yesterday but got another flashy so looks like I will ovulate a little later this month maybe CD12 which I'm quite happy about. I started taking pregnacare this month so don't know if that's helped lengthen my follicular phase a little. I was sure I'd get my peak so we DTD first thing 😂 now I kinda wish we hadn't as if it's peak tomorrow then that's going to be several days in a row. I should've tested first but nothing I can do now. Means there willl be lots of DTD this fertile week. My goodness trying to work out when you should dtd whilst ttc can drive you mad.

MissDottie · 14/08/2022 09:18

Morning.

Im feeling a bit frustrated as OH has been working long hours last few days and DTD hasn’t happened as often as I’d have liked over fertile window. I haven’t shared with him that this is fertile time though as I’d hoped to keep it relaxed for him!

@EdinburghGirl1 @LauraA31 do your OHs know you are tracking? Do they feel ok about it? Might need to have a chat with him before next month and fill him in!

EdinburghGirl1 · 14/08/2022 09:23

@MissDottie no I don't tell my OH when my fertile week is. I prefer to keep it to myself rather than add a pressure for him too and I just seduce him as and when required 😂 he might be able to tell but who knows. We DTD regularly throughout cycle but definitely been more over fertile weeks. He's quite a laid back type person and I am a planner/organiser etc so I'd prefer to just keep it to me and let him stay relaxed and try keep a bit more fun to it.

I totally get your frustration. It's really hard when you feel you need to and they're not up for it. Maybe in this case it's worth talking to him but it's completely up to you

MissDottie · 14/08/2022 09:35

@EdinburghGirl1 thanks. I would prefer not to tell him and add an extra pressure as you say. We have DTD regularly this cycle but I feel like I am panicking as we have missed 2 days while I have fertile CM. I think I need to start OPKs next month and this will maybe help me focus better on the right days and reduce panicking over probably nothing 🤣

Londongirl87 · 14/08/2022 09:41

Same here! My other half doesn't mind me using OPKs but he prefers to not feel any pressure and keep things relaxed.
I keep him relaxed even though I am not always as relaxed as I pretend to be 😆

LauraA31 · 14/08/2022 10:08

@EdinburghGirl1 hello! Im doing ok, im super tired and could sleep all day.. im weeing a lot more and im super hungry but don’t know if it’s all in my head 😂 my boobs have calmed down and aren’t as tender which was the first sign for me..
Fingers crossed for the static for you!

@MissDottie i let him know, boyfriend wanted to know to be fair and when we got the static smiling face he was so happy. He is a nosey get though and don’t think he would like to be kept in the dark haha!

This month we didn’t put pressure on ourselves and we only DTD 3 times through our fertile window, the day before ovulation, the day of ovulation and the day after.. my shifts fell strange this month and we were certain it wouldn’t be the month so didn’t put pressure on, we used pre-seed too which i can’t say did the job but it seems to have helped haha!

EdinburghGirl1 · 14/08/2022 10:11

I remember being really hungry and seeing lots when I was pregnant so probably not in your head. I also had an insane thirst the first few weeks too. As they say it only really takes once and you did it on the most important days

Londongirl87 · 14/08/2022 10:29

@LauraA31 the fact that your breasts are less sore gives me hope as mine are not sore anymore today either and I am at the same dpo as you (except I haven't tested yet so might be negative!)

EdinburghGirl1 · 15/08/2022 08:29

Morning ladies how are you all doing? CD11 and another (3rd) flashing smiley so will be at least CD13 before I ovulate. Taking it as a good thing and maybe last month was just a blip. I have had ovulation pain the past couple days so egg must be busy ripening. My dilemma of DTD yesterday now doesn't matter lol. Think I'll skip today though and hopefully it's peak tomorrow

dobby13 · 15/08/2022 08:50

Morning @EdinburghGirl1 - fingers crossed for your static smiley tomorrow. 🤞🏻

Feeling okay - DPO 4/5 today (even with OPKs my apps disagree with one another 😂). Got some light cramping today, but arguably that could be because I ate my feelings all weekend. Trying not to symptom spot, as I did that last month and was absolutely gutted with my BFN. Holding out to Sunday to test (at the absolute earliest - will wait longer if my willpower is up for it).

Sj2505 · 15/08/2022 08:57

Morning! I'm 6dpo I've been having cramps and lower back ache for the past two days, I'm hoping it's a good sign and not a sign that AF is coming as it came at 10dpo last cycle. I did have a temp dip this morning which is a good sign for ovulation but I don't know that I've been taking it at the same time and well rested so I don't know how reliable my chart will be. I don't have any other symptoms really. I have nausea that comes and goes but that's not unheard of in my normal cycle anyway. I guess I'll know in a few days one way or the other.
Hope everyone's managing to stay sane.

Good luck @EdinburghGirl1 and fingers crossed @Sj2505 !!

Here I am losing hope for this cycle as I've had some spotting since this morning... 13dpo and I think this might actually day 1 of cycle 6 :-(

By the way, do you know when I should consider getting a check with my GP since I am over 35? The NHS website says 6 months but is that 6 actual months, or 6 cycles?

NatGee · 15/08/2022 14:51

@Londongirl87 ohh let's hope it isn't it just yet!!! I think you can easily tell them you've tried for 6 months, don't wait. they can always tell you if you need to wait longer xx

NatGee · 15/08/2022 14:52

@Sj2505 thanks for the update, let's hope your temperature rises again tomorrow, that's always an indicator of what's potentially to come, crossing my fingers for you xx

EdinburghGirl1 · 15/08/2022 15:02

@Londongirl87 hoping it's not AF for you. I probably would say 6 cycles but I'm not too sure. Can always ask and see

Sj2505 · 15/08/2022 15:19

I meant a good sign of implantation on my previous post, not ovulation 🙈

@Londongirl87 I'd say there's no harm in contacting them to find out, even if they just say try again and come back, at least then you'd know

@EdinburghGirl1 fingers crossed for your static smiley tomorrow!

@dobby13 I know how you feel, I'm going to be fighting the urge to test too come the weekend!

@NatGee thank you - how are you getting on?

Hope everyone's having a good day and enjoying the cooler weather.

NatGee · 16/08/2022 08:10

@Sj2505 alright, thanks for asking, CD10 today and slowly seeing my lh levels rise but still a few days from peak.
How was your bbt today? Xx

EdinburghGirl1 · 16/08/2022 08:32

@Sj2505 I actually decided to test again at 5pm last night and got my static so presumably ovulate today. Glad I checked and we managed to BD last night

Sj2505 · 16/08/2022 09:06

@NatGee I'm 7dpo had a spike this morning following the drop yesterday ☺️ although I barely slept so can't really say if the readings are reliable.
My chart seems a bit drastic haha

@EdinburghGirl1 thats great news!! And now the tww begins

@Sj2505 oh fantastic! we definitely want to see it up there 💃

Baby3herewego · 16/08/2022 10:14

Morning lovely ladies.

I need your eyes please…. I know I shouldn’t have but I tested yesterday ( at 7dpo ) but I swear I got the faintest of lines.

Tested again this morning at 8dpo ( not even FMU ) and the line is darker, thicker and definitely pink.

Am I going insane?

attached is a photo of today’s test with yesterday’s test to see the difference. Today’s is the bottom one.

Baby3herewego · 16/08/2022 10:24

@EdinburghGirl1 so scared to feel excited because of last month. Going to keep testing each day and hopefully that lovely line will keep getting darker. Xxx

EdinburghGirl1 · 16/08/2022 10:26

@Baby3herewego fingers crossed for a sticky bean for you this time
