Great news @bez91. Fingers crossed things keep looking up for you.

coconutlatte44 · 22/09/2021 21:30

Thank you everyone. I'm really trying to stay calm but it's hard - I went back and looked at the numbers on the sheet they gave me and while the doctor was pretty positive about my chances in person the numbers really have me worried. Baby 1 CRL is 4.9mm and baby 2 is 3.6mm which, aside from the obvious gap, seems much closer to 6 weeks than 6+5 which is what I estimated myself as. I actually don't know when I ovulated but have always assumed it's the normal day 14-15 as my cycles are so regular. I know they're tiny yet and can measure a few days out but still...

coconutlatte44 · 22/09/2021 21:31

It's going to be a long 2 weeks.

bubblybrit · 22/09/2021 21:33

@bez91. Brilliant news. So pleased for you. Keeping my fingers crossed for you that it’s all plain sailing from here x

bubblybrit · 22/09/2021 21:35

Try not to worry @coconutlatte44. When I had an early reassurance scan at 7 weeks (I measured a day or two behind) I was told that it’s common to be a week out at this stage as it’s still super early x

Sarah0409 · 22/09/2021 21:39

@bez91 and @coconutlatte44, great news! Really pleased to hear your scans went well xx

susiebluebell · 22/09/2021 21:55

Happy days @bez91! Smile Flowers

OneDay86 · 22/09/2021 22:33

@bez91 aww that’s amazing news! So pleased it went well x

Fishbaby · 22/09/2021 23:19

Hi, joining this wagon i guess. Miscarried a few weeks ago. Hi guys, study not read through yet it's late!

Feeling really deflated. Was hoping to strike it lucky this time (was not going to wait a month, f that) but i didn't really great a pos opk. It went up a bit bit want usual. I had little ewcm hardly any at all and usually it's like someone dropped an egg down there. Head a big increase in sex drive. But no good positive test.

Feeling totally blue.

I do have a child, this is my second we are trying for.

Loulou237 · 23/09/2021 06:57

@coconutlatte44 could you have ovulated twice and ended up with two eggs? Also I wouldn’t worry, I think at this stage it’s so difficult to date that’s why they normally wait till 12 weeks xxx

coconutlatte44 · 23/09/2021 07:54

Thanks everyone, I know there's no real sense in obsessing over it but I'm sure you all know the compulsion to do so 😩

@Loulou237 No they're actually in the same outer sac which means they've come from the same egg that has split after fertilization. It means if they survive early pregnancy a) they would be at higher risk of complications although probably 15-20% and b) they would be identical.

Loulou237 · 23/09/2021 08:06

@coconutlatte44 oh wow that’s amazing! I understand your anxiety definitely but congratulations 🥳 do you know when your next scan is? Xx

SLCxxx · 24/09/2021 22:19

@bez91 yayyyy! That’s so lovely to hear, so glad you finally got a heartbeat 🥰. Now you have to just get through one day at a time x

Hello ladies - I’m a long time lurker (and v sporadic poster) on this thread after a MMC of first pregnancy last summer. Not a whisper of a BFP since then so went to my OBGYN for some tests recently and wanted to share in case it helps anyone:

I had been having a bit of spotting around ovulation and for a few days before AF for the last 6ish months. I was due a repeat smear test after getting a slightly dodgy result following the one last year so of course I was panicking and mentally preparing for the worst. Actually, the smear came back 100% clear and all my blood work has been good. However, my day 21 ultrasound showed a slightly thin lining in my uterus and my doc said that could be to blame for the spotting and possibly could be stopping me getting pregnant.

I’m now on progesterone suppositories and will take every month going forward from the first time I get a positive opk so fingers crossed!!!

Just sharing this in case helpful for any of you ladies when speaking with your own doctors - I’m kicking myself for not seeing someone sooner…

I’m headed for a first consultation to discuss ivf soon so I will share anything interesting that my doc mentions just in case it can help anyone else re questions for their own doctors.

Congrats to all those with BFPs!

X

SLCxxx · 26/09/2021 21:17

@Fingerscrossedfor2021HK thank you very much for sharing, very thoughtful of you. Hope the pessaries are just what you need and your BFP is just round the corner

Loz2467 · 26/09/2021 23:38

I’m sorry I’ve not been great at replying lately and I still have some people to respond too! Congrats to everyone with the BFPs and the positive scans! It’s great news!

@Fingerscrossedfor2021HK thank you for sharing that’s really helpful as I’m currently going insane with my spotting before AF. Before my loss I didn’t get it. Since my loss I’m getting a good 3 days of spotting (brown old blood - sorry for TMI) before AF and it’s driving me insane. I had a 21 day blood test and my progesterone was 61. Anything over 30 or 35 I think confirms Ovulation so I assumed that was a good number but then I spot from around 10/11 DPO. I’ve always had an 11 day luteal and got pregnant twice.

Anyway since my loss back in Feb I’ve had zero luck. I paid for a private scan last Wednesday and my lining was only 6mm. This was only with a sonographer not a gynae. So she put it down as normal because she said I was day 3 menses but I wasn’t. The spotting had started but my cycle only started that evening. So now I’m thinking was it 6mm because some had started to come away and was waiting (she said I had free fluid) or is my lining too thin to implant. I’m just even more confused and I don’t really know what to do about it. Did you have surgical management with your MMC?

Xx

Fingerscrossedfor2021HK · 27/09/2021 05:46

@Loz2467 - your situation sounds so much like mine! I never had spotting before my period until after my loss (I had to have surgical management afterwards). I am now wondering if the procedure maybe left my lining a bit thinner (no idea if that’s even possible since the procedure was over a year ago) and maybe that’s why i am now having trouble getting pregnant again when we caught first time with the pregnancy that I miscarried.

I only found out about the thin lining because I asked my OBGYN to conduct what they call a monitored cycle - basically, you go in on days 2, 14 and 21 of your cycle and they do transvaginal scans and blood tests to see if there are any issues. It was on my day 21 scan that she spotted the thin lining (I can’t recall the measurement but only that she said it was on the thin side) and prescribed the progesterone. I’m in Singapore so I’m not sure if the same tests are available in the UK on the nhs but might be worth asking your GP. Next month we are going to do another monitored cycle expect this time I will be in every couple of days so that they can closely watch what’s going on and I can then have a trigger injection to make the egg release at the right time to give us the best chance of conception…

I’m hoping that this works but am honestly resigned to IVF at this point as I’m 35 and don’t feel like time is on my side. I will keep you posted if the IVF doc shares anything that might be of general interest!

Loz2467 · 27/09/2021 09:37

@Fingerscrossedfor2021HK I’m so sorry you got pregnant so quickly and now it’s taking some time. It’s so hard to get your head around isn’t it. I’m the same. 2 quick pregnancies with 1 loss and then now it’s been 6 months of nothing. Which I know in hindsight isn’t a great deal of time but I don’t think something is quite right with me. Or partner. Just something!

Here in the UK it’s a 12 month wait for a referral to a consultant etc. I did have a consultant as my loss was late and she was the one who did the bloods on day 3 and my 21 day progesterone check but then just immediately discharged me back to my GP which don’t really deal with fertility over here. So I’m kind of stuck now what to do. So I’ve just read online vitamin E to try and improve the lining. After 12 months of trying I will go to a private fertility clinic but deep down I was hoping it doesn’t come to that. I didn’t have any surgical management so I don’t understand how my lining May of become thin? With yours being a year ago I don’t understand how it doesn’t or hasn’t improved either?! It’s such a head mess trying to figure it all out! Then I’m thinking is nothing wrong and it’s just taking some time. I went for the scan for reassurance and now I’m more on edge because of the measurements.

Let me know how you get on! I have every bind crossed for you! I’m 35 also!

Loz2467 · 27/09/2021 11:44

Sorry typo. Everything*

re6ecca · 28/09/2021 09:27

Hello again everybody, @bez91 glad to hear of your successful scan and @coconutlatte44 wow twins! Thats a lovely surprise!

No update over here however, I still haven't had a period (although not pregnant either) on CD50.

Fingerscrossedfor2021HK · 28/09/2021 10:08

@Loz2467 fingers crossed for you too - hopefully all you need is a bit more time and it will happen naturally!

Loz2467 · 28/09/2021 11:38

@Fingerscrossedfor2021HK it may sound silly but if it doesn’t happen within 6/8 months of the loss I kind of feel like it won’t happen. I know that’s such a negative mind set but I’ve kinda given up hope now for it happening naturally.

@re6ecca I’m so sorry your on such a long cycle. I had those a few years ago after the pill and it was frustrating. I hope it regulates soon for you or you get some good news!

re6ecca · 28/09/2021 18:33

@Loz2467 fingers crossed indeed. I thought never having been on hormonal contraception would save me from stuff like this!
September should've been our 22nd cycle since starting TTC so it just seems to be getting worse 🤣

Loz2467 · 28/09/2021 19:55

@re6ecca have you always had longer cycles? Or has something changed? Oh gosh I know mine were so bad when I first came off the pill. But don’t give up hope because the cycle I conceived my 2 year old I ovulated on cycle day 53! I’d given up. Got drunk at Christmas parties and then it happened. I’ve just had no luck TTC this time xx

susiebluebell · 28/09/2021 19:56

Hi @re6ecca good to see you. Sorry about the long cycle - I had 61 days recently and it nearly drove me insane.

Thanks @Fingerscrossedfor2021HK that's all really informative and I might take some of that info to my next GP appointment. Sending baby dust your way!
