Here we are again... thread 19. Not sure if any of you ladies are here from thread 1. I think I've been around since about thread 5.

@bez91oh ffs how frustrating for you! Yes definitely do that it will put your mind at rest if you can get some. Good luck, fingers crossed for you xxx

susiebluebell · 08/09/2021 22:30

@Mamat90 Yes I feel the same, it's now been over a year since the miscarriage and I haven't conceived since, as far as I know. Its discouraging. The year marker was tough. Sending hugs xx

OneDay86 · 09/09/2021 23:07

@bez91 I live in Wales, but I believe it’s the same here as England - you can’t have any investigations into miscarriage until you’ve had 3, which I agree is absolutely crazy!! I think at the very least people should be offered some basic blood tests after any miscarriage, it could help prevent so much further heartache for some people. I’ve had 2 miscarriages so wasn’t eligible for any tests with my GP…. but my OH and I saw a gynaecologist/fertility specialist privately when we were struggling to get pregnant, and I contacted him when I miscarried this second time and he’s referred me for blood tests. I’m still waiting to hear what exactly was tested and what the results are but I know that one of the tests was for blood clotting issues. I’m sure he also said something about testing LH and FSH levels? Hopefully will know in the next day or two.

How did you get on with gynae? Did that doctor finally get back to you? It’s so frustrating that they’re taking so long to review your notes. It might be worth asking the fertility clinic for progesterone, even though they’re private they may be able to give you a NHS prescription. Hope you hear something soon either way x

@Mamat90 I’m so sorry for your loss. TTC can feel like such a long journey. I initially took 8 months to conceive before I miscarried the first time, and in total have been trying for 15 months although feels more like years sometimes. Spotting at 6dpo sounds like a promising sign though! Fingers crossed for you! ❤️

Mamat90 · 10/09/2021 06:45

We have been trying for almost 4 years now, with two losses and it just feels like it takes me a whole year to conceive!

Really hoping that this is the month for us! Fingers crossed!

Also think it’s crazy about the whole waiting for loss number three before you get investigated! Every pregnancy loss should be looked into! Such a huge strain in your body mentally and physically and I think it would be good to know the possible causes to keep your mind at rest and hopefully prevent it happening a second time round!

re6ecca · 10/09/2021 17:01

Congratulations @coconutlatte44 and @bez91 on your BFPs!
Hope that you are having 🌈s finally!

Wish I could say I am joining you but despite being 4 days late and feeling incredibly sick/tired/lower back pain every single test is negative. I've lost the want to know what's going on now. I had what I thought was a positive a week or so ago and phoned the hospital asking for a scan only to find out that the tests I was using are known for thick dark false positives.

Loulou237 · 10/09/2021 17:19

@re6ecca could you have ovulated later than you thought and still be in with a chance of a positive in a few days? Everything crossed for you xxx

Onebabyandamadcat · 10/09/2021 17:22

Can I join in? I had missed miscarriage two weeks ago and a MVA on Wednesday. Having spoken with DH a lot over the past week, we want to start trying again as soon as we can. Would be nice to have some company on this journey

re6ecca · 10/09/2021 18:16

@Loulou237 I have a history of late positives and then losses soon after. I think it is something undetected that is wrong hormonally. I'm hoping that this doesn't go that way too but I feel like it will.

bubblybrit · 10/09/2021 19:04

Thank you for all the well wishes. Hope all those with recent BFPs are doing ok.

Good luck to those still on this crazy journey x

Loulou237 · 10/09/2021 19:14

@re6ecca I’m sorry to hear that. Fingers crossed you just always have a late positive even with a viable pregnancy! Xx

bez91 · 10/09/2021 20:13

@Mamat90 I felt this too, I had my second MC in December 2020 then it took 7 months to get another positive which which up being a CP but now a couple of months on have a BFP. It's the frustration of both of when it's infertility and miscarriage. Sending love 💕

Welcome @Onebabyandamadcat I've been on the thread about a year and there's some lovely ladies with good advice.

I can't remember anyone else on here saying they were under the recurrent miscarriage clinic but for those that asked they got in touch yesterday and I've been prescribed progesterone, really high dose of folic acid and aspirin as well as them sorting me scans at EPU in the hope for a sticky baby 🤞🏼

@bez91 that’s great news everything crossed for you xxx

Mamat90 · 11/09/2021 08:58

@bez91 thanks, I know that everyone in here has the exact same feelings and it’s so nice to know we’re not alone because sometimes it can feel like a very lonely place to be!

Also massive congrats on your pregnancy! I remember seeing your name when I first joined this group and it’s so lovely to see people getting good news finally! ❤️❤️❤️

pureofmind · 11/09/2021 09:07

Hi all can I join please.Hope all is well!
I'm 34 and have dc.
In January this year I had a termination due to medial issues and bled for a few months after my ovulation/periods returned in May and
I got pregnant again in in July. I sadly had a miscarriage last week and I'm devastated. I was 5 weeks. Im in the obese bmi category even though I'm not massive. I've been through lots of stress and anxiety lately too and I know I need to lose weight and cut out the stress.
I'm still bleeding quite heavy as this one is taking natures course I keep blaming myself for all the things I've done before I knew I was pregnant, I drank alcohol took ibuprofen eat rare steak I am overweight. Currently off work too. ! Xx I want
To TTC again as I feel so empty but partner thinks I need to let my body and mind heal and get it over this maybe again in a year but I will be 35 then! And I worry about my age x

re6ecca · 11/09/2021 11:50

@Loulou237 it would be fab, you never know.

My real fear is that when I got the false positive I booked in at the EPAU for a scan/bloods. I'm nervous about cancelling because of how I've been treated around my age and "knowing" i am pregnant previously.

Loulou237 · 11/09/2021 12:13

@re6ecca oh no don’t be nervous, just get someone else to ring up for you if they are making you anxious! Xx

davidrosejumper · 11/09/2021 16:10

Hi @bez91, I just read about your positive test and am keeping my fingers crossed for you!! Hopeful start!

bez91 · 12/09/2021 08:14

Thanks @Mamat90 I've been on this thread around a year, hopefully with the medication it will be successful 🤞🏼

@pureofmind welcome and sorry you find yourself here. It can be a vicious cycle through TTC then MC as it never feels the right time to start anything like dramatic weight loss but it can be good for you mentally to just focus on something else. It can be all encompassing mentally otherwise. Healing is good 😊

Thankyou @davidrosejumper 💕 hope you're well

Welcome @Onebabyandamadcat and @pureofmind So sorry for what you're going through, but yes you are in good company here with lots of us who are trying not to go bonkers while TTCing Smile

I've got a bit of a weird one to ask advice about. My period finished a week ago. We DTD two nights ago and the next morning I had quite a bit of blood and CM when I wiped in the morning. A bit more kept coming throughout the day. Yesterday night we didn't do anything, but I had even more blood this morning to the point it had stained my underwear. It's tapered off to nothing currently.

Why would I bleed a week after my period?? I googled a bit and there were suggestions that some people bleed a bit around ovulation, but this would be new for me. Not overly freaked out but I want to know what it is. Thanks in advance

bez91 · 13/09/2021 19:49

Hi @susiebluebell I had this back in March, it happened just that month but I practically bled on and off most of the month 🤷‍♀️ no explanation as to why, sorry I can't be much help it's likely nothing to worry about though

SLCxxx · 16/09/2021 07:23

@bez91 how’s things going? All good I hope xx

bez91 · 16/09/2021 08:27

Hi @SLCxxx thanks for checking in. Doing ok, on with all the meds and had first scan at EPU yesterday. Didn't want it so early but the consultant wanted to go off my LMP even though I ovulated late. Couldn't see a lot bar a yolk sac and dated me 4+6 (I thought 5 so not way out) had bloods done which came back higher than expected which could be a good or bad thing so back next Wednesday for another scan so still in purgatory 🙈
How are you doing?

OP posts:
re6ecca · 16/09/2021 19:33

Update for you all... it was 100% a false positive. I am 9 days late on my period and my blood and urine both came back negative. Now I've just got to wait however long for AF to come back.

susiebluebell · 16/09/2021 21:02

Thanks @bez91, it feels like I should be worried about it, but I just can't gather up the energy to care! I feel healthy and strong otherwise. Just going to let it do what it needs to do. Still spotting a few days later...

Hope everyone is having a good week x

susiebluebell · 16/09/2021 21:03

@re6ecca Sorry to read about your false positive. Sending hugs x
