@Twinkles18 I also had my peak yesterday so I will be in the TWW with you, and I'm already wondering the earliest I can test 😂

@catinthehat12 as hard as it is I'd try not to worry about it as your body may be taking a bit longer to get back to "normal". I was relatively early (6+5) when I mc and my hcg dropped quickly afterwards. I'm sure you will get a real peak in the next week, but even if the earlier one was your peak you still BD'd before so you would still have a chance

Does anyone recommend using opks after the peak? I only have 3 left and not sure whether I need more to test until AF is due

Marvellouslymadmum · 10/05/2021 21:13

@catinthehat12 it's very hard after mc to know what's happening with your cycle, my first mc i had a 5 weeks cycle then the second it went pretty much straight back same with the two cp aswell but I've heard some that have waited months before it returns to normal!

@Canadadarling I use a couple of cheapies after peak just to be sure that's it though I'm not wasting the cb lol

Twinkles18 · 10/05/2021 21:30

Thanks @Marvellouslymadmum thankfully very busy with work the next few weeks so hopefully that will distract me for a while!

@Canadadarling oh brilliant good luck and fingers crossed for us both! I ovulated later than usual and my Flo app says my period isn't due now until 22nd so I'm really going to try not test until periods late 🙈 don't think I could face the disappointment of a bfn! Hopefully we're both lucky this month!

SLCxxx · 10/05/2021 21:36

@MammaJ21 good luck to you too sweet, and to all of us on here 🤞🏻🤞🏻

@Marvellouslymadmum how do you know you have ovulated by temp?x

@Canadadarling snap, I got my peak yesterday too, so we will be doing the exact same TWW (always drags 🤦🏼‍♀️). I always use about 3 strips after to make sure my LH is going down, then I stop and just continue the TWW, just like the confirmation

SLCxxx · 10/05/2021 21:50

And @Twinkles18, 3 peaks yesterday! Welcome to the group, so sorry you find yourself here. The ladies on here are so lovely and actually understand ☺️ You’ll find lots of support. I’ve started binge watching crap on tv or started reading again in the TWW.. occasional I may drink a little too much, lol, but the worst part is the symptom spotting so by day 10/11 post ovulation I’m convinced I’m pregnant, test, get BFN, cry and wait for AF, lol.. vicious cycle! At least we are coming out of lockdown soon so hopefully meeting people will help kill time. Hope you don’t find it too unbearable

Canadadarling · 10/05/2021 21:56

@Twinkles18 @SLCxxx it feels nice knowing we're all going through the wait together, hopefully we'll have positive news to share ! I'm in 2 mindsets about testing because I don't want to see the BFN but I also don't want to get my hopes up if AF is later than usual

Twinkles18 · 10/05/2021 22:10

@SLCxxx and @Canadadarling aww brilliant that were in it together!
Oh I know what you mean about AF possibly being later, it's hard to call! Last month I tested the day after my period was due and my period came as soon as the 3 min was up on the test..typical!!! I might do the day of period being due (maybe day before if I give in!) as I just don't have the patience

elsimo · 10/05/2021 22:13

Hey all, busy weekend on the booze here 🙈

I'm 36 with almost 4 year old DD. I had a mc before my DD but fell pregnant straight away.
Been TTC for 2 years now, fell pregnant in September with twins but miscarried at 8 weeks. Surgical managment at 11 weeks and 6 months on my body is just about back to normal.

I got my peak today but I have really struggled to have sex this month, just so done with trying.
Managed yesterday and today so we shall see xx

Lollipop25 · 10/05/2021 22:17

Anyone experience or advice using the CB digital ( pink 2 day) opks? The instructions say can use urine anytime of the day, I've been using fmu, I'm on CD18 (last cycle was 33) and have had no smiley, ( had none last month either, thinking I may not be ovulating since mc in feb🤷🏼‍♀️)app tells me it's ovulation day, I have had ewcm for a couple of days now but these opks are stressing me out🙈😂 any tips greatly appreciated .

Canadadarling · 10/05/2021 22:26

@Twinkles18 I swear that's always the way, I test and then straight after AF hits. It's like it knows! I want to try not to test until at least 14dpo (which would be a 5 week cycle) but I'm very aware I may cave before then

Marvellouslymadmum · 10/05/2021 22:27

@SLCxxx your basal temperature shifts, I'll add a chart to show you so it'll be lower the first part of the cycle then around Ov day you usually get a dip followed by at least 3 days of higher temp and then it stays higher until af when it drops again

@elsimo sorry you're struggling, I go through this sometimes

@Lollipop25 I use the cb purple ones so don't know if they're the same but I use fmu and they work great for me

Lollipop25 · 10/05/2021 22:31

TY @Marvellouslymadmum ,it's probably just me then🙈😬
Just have to wait and see I suppose☺️

Twinkles18 · 10/05/2021 22:31

@Canadadarling 14dpo sounds good to me, I'll try and hold off to then too so we can try help eachother stay n track and not cave early 😅 we can do it!

Marvellouslymadmum · 10/05/2021 22:33

@Lollipop25 maybe just keep testing for a few days especially if you have ewcm and dtd when you can

Canadadarling · 10/05/2021 22:45

@Twinkles18 that sounds like a good plan to help deal with the 2WW, I'm praying they are the quickest weeks of my life so far 😂 at least now is the time to relax and not worry about baby making and tracking!

@Marvellouslymadmum thank you, I knew the dip with LH surge meant ovulation but didn’t know about following it up after 😂 feel abit silly now 🙈

@Twinkles18 @Canadadarling I’m terrible for testing, last month I made it to 13DPO before testing (BFN), then AF was late by 4 days which gave me hope again, I tested again 5 days late and the witch turned up an hour later 🤷🏼‍♀️ I think your right, she knows lol. I generally would prefer to see a BFN and know AF is coming but after last month I’m hoping to wait out as long as I can

@Lollipop25 i use the advance 4 days CB ones like @marvellouslymadmum as they flash when oestrogen levels rise so you know your entering fertile window, then go static when LH peaks. I usually get EWCM during the flashing stage (but not always, sometimes just random lol) and the static a few days later. I hope you get your peak soon hun 🤞🏻

I am considering taking aspirin daily as I’ve read it can help, has anyone given this a go and have any experience with it?

susiebluebell · 11/05/2021 11:51

Hmm I know that @HappyVibes started taking aspirin. She did get a BFP although haven't heard from her since Feb - hopefully for all the right reasons!

There is a lot of anecdotal evidence to support it in TTC, but I'd do my research first and make sure you personally don't have any risks with taking it daily.

HappyVibes · 11/05/2021 13:06

@susiebluebell @SLCxxx

Hi lovelies,

I am all good thank you, as is baby girl 💫 💖
I did take aspirin and still am taking aspirin through pregnancy. I did try a few months of taking aspirin through TTC stage - I can’t quite remember if I used it for TTC the month we conceived or not. But I definitely used it from the onset of the first incline of a positive. 75mg I used, then upped it to 150mg after midwife appt. how or his helps ladies. Xxxx

SLCxxx · 11/05/2021 14:45

Thanks ladies @susiebluebell @HappyVibes, I will give it a go, I don’t have any risk factors not to. @HappyVibes aww a little girl 💕 congratulations, how exciting ☺️

bubblybrit · 11/05/2021 16:13

Thanks for the new thread @bez91. I’ve not caught up yet but wanted to check in.

Got high fertility on clearblue opk yesterday but DH was working so didn’t manage to dtd. A bit shocked that I then got peak fertility this morning (usually have at least 4-5 days of high fertility). Only problem is that DH had his Covid jab this morning and now doesn’t feel great. Don’t want to apply pressure but if we don’t dtd tonight then that’s another month wasted.

I’m getting a bit resentful that he doesn’t appear to be ‘involved’ with the actively TTC part...he just doesn’t seem fussed...which is frustrating me as I’m 37 and feel like I don’t have the option to just throw months away quite as easily as someone a bit younger!

bez91 · 11/05/2021 16:47

@bubblybrit ahh that's really frustrating. Can you get anything in sooner incase he feels worse later? It always falls at the most inconvenient times I find, doesn't matter how many times my DH moves his call out week it always falls on FW when he's out for up to 18 hours 🤦🏼‍♀️ can you have a heart to heart chat about how you're feeling and what you need from him? I get it can be such a lonely place 💕

Called private fertility clinic this morning. Rang at 8 and by 10, all questionnaires, tests, SA pot in the post 😳 and appointments sorted. I'm impressed, I mean it means we'll be having no holiday this year (not that we can go anywhere anyway) but it feels super organised and has eased my anxiety massively so that's one positive

OP posts:
SLCxxx · 11/05/2021 17:07

@bubblybrit oh hun, why does ovulation always have the worst timing 🤦🏼‍♀️ Also, as @Marvellouslymadmum and I discussed, anyone would think men would jump at the chance to sex on tap.. but you are not alone in the frustration that your OH doesn’t seem to be putting in as much effort as you would think he would considering it’s literally ‘baby making time’. Men 🤷🏼‍♀️ I would try to coax him into baby dancing today/tonight (feed him paracetamol/ibuprofen 😂) as most ppl seem to feel worse the days following the vaccine rather than the day itself. Good luck 🤞🏻

@bez91 oh my, that’s amazing! What are you doing? Just the investigation? I’ve looked into a few bits but DH isn’t interested in spending our money until I speak to GP (appt 21st) x

bez91 · 11/05/2021 18:00

So basically @bubblybrit ... @SLCxxx is suggesting you drug him 😆🙈
Yes just the investigation for now, hopefully I just need something to kickstart ovulation so can get the meds for that or if it's more complicated at least we're on that path already as NHS won't fund a lot of secondary infertility stuff so we can consider our options.
21st isn't too far away! What the appointment for is it your first app with GP for fertility?

OP posts:
Canadadarling · 11/05/2021 19:17

@bubblybrit oh trust me I know all about this... my OH has been saying "I'm tired" "can't I have a night off" "we already done it the other day" like they don't understand you can't take a night off and expect your egg to just wait for you to be ready...they say they want the baby but seem to think it will magically appear! We're the ones peeing on sticks every day, taking all the vitamins under the sun, tracking every day & every symptom, and they just have to have an orgasm, so difficult for them 🤣 as you can tell that seems to be a common theme for us on this thread so hopefully it makes it better knowing it's not just your OH!
I definitely agree you should try and make it happen tonight and have a talk with him later on about how it makes you feel.

Idk if you saw a few days ago I had the same talk and my OH didn't realise that there's only 3 fertile days in your whole cycle, so perhaps that's also the issue for you.🤞🏻 you can BD and catch this month
