Anyone going to TTC in April?

Hi all! Just looking for some TTC buddies! We have planned to start trying in April, we already have a DC who is 2.5. Would love for somebody else to join!

My goal is to lose a bit of weight first as I've gained about a stone back during the 3rd lockdown and want to be as healthy as possible. I've also started taking the Seven Seas Trying for a baby vitamins! Feeling nervous but excited (DC was a surprise Grin)

Hey @hullaballoo19
I’m 8dpo and defo starting to stir! Yesterday I was having af cramps all day but today nothing. Literally every day feels harder, I’m not going to test early. Just wait for AF arrive but hopefully not. How are you? X

Elsbeth1 · 29/04/2021 15:23

Hi @hullaballoo19 how are you getting along?

All my fertility purchases came today with a free stork charm which I thought was cute haha
So glad they came today because the clearblue fertility monitor requires you to input the start of your period within 4 days so I would have had to wait to next cycle if it came the week after!
We've started taking the supplements and stuff and will start using the OPKs on Sunday :)

So today a colleague from work randomly said she had a dream that I was pregnant and she wanted to tell me because sometimes her dreams come true?? which is freaky because I haven't mentioned I'm trying and not sure where she would have gotten the impression from as I'm constantly drinking (Drank this weekend as I hosted a BBQ and work brought me 2 bottles of champagne the week before which I said I drank over the weekend) spooky

Elsbeth1 · 29/04/2021 15:26

And I've said a few times before I wasn't ready to have a baby (which I wasn't at the time) even though my boss is like you're at the ideal age to have one Hmm

zeromango · 29/04/2021 15:33

Hi guys how are well all? Nearly the weekend! Does anyone have any plans?

@hullaballoo19 how are things your end? Ready to test with me tomorrow?? Which test will you be using? Bought a Boots early response test on a whim today, and still have some Babyplan tests left too. I worry about buying a digital because sometimes they don't work at all (and it's literally peeing £10 down the toilet Grin)

@Elsbeth1 Ooooh love a bit of sixth sense stuff! How random (but exciting!) And the little stork could be your good luck charm! Let us know how you get on with your fertility supplements. I used the seven seas conception vitamins for about 3-4 months prior to us TTC, I've no idea if taking them for so long actually helps but they did put me at 28 days quite solidly which was a massive relief. Will you be using applicators with the Conceive Plus gel? I was too freaked out

@DeeDee20 well done for holding off to test! I wish I hadn't bothered! Definitely a good thing to hold off until AF incase of chemicals etc but it's so so hard waiting isn't it!! I've been having AF style cramps all week, it could be a really good sign for you! When are you due AF?

Everyone sounds so clued up with what to do! I feel like such a novice. I don’t know any of this stuff. I can’t even out all of the abbreviations you all use 🤣😂 there’s no hope for me.
My withdrawal bleeding has stopped now so I guess I will have to wait for my next period to come so I can start tracking my fertile days. I’m so impatient though! X

hullaballoo19 · 29/04/2021 15:49

It's so tough @DeeDee20 from 7/8dpo I'm just a big bag of frustration! You're doing really well 😊

Ah @Elsbeth1 I hope she's right! Glad you got all your bits 😊 what is the gel for/supposed to do?

@zeromango very ready to test tomorrow, though nervous! I've got a frer so will be using that 👍 you still cramping?

I've had an 'odd' couple of days. Been feeling like I'm out for this month and was feeling quite down about it yesterday. And then dp made salmon for dinner (regular ingredient in our house) and I started getting an itchy mouth as soon as I started eating it 🤔 I've had a similar reaction to aubergine for years and always assumed I must be a bit allergic to it. So of course was Googling (and posted on mn) and apparently it's possible to develop a new allergy while pregnant (though can't find any info about how early it can happen).. BUT it is also possible to develop a new allergy randomly so it may mean nothing at all! But I did think it was very odd. Breasts have felt a bit tingly today as well. But a part of me is telling myself all of it means nothing because I don't want to get my hopes up for them to be crushed tomorrow! On the plus side, apart from having a little wobble yesterday, I haven't been really frustrated and down this week like previous months.

Elsbeth1 · 29/04/2021 17:12

@zeromango No plans this weekend its looking like quite a chilled one
Horrible weather too :( how about you?
Haha I love freaky stuff too I might make the charm into a bracelet or something Hmm I also booked an acupuncturist for my ovulation week not sure I could afford it every week Confused
Ok cool will let you know if it changes my cycles or anything I feel I'm quite a regular 31 days atm but I remembered yesterday I did some of those thriva at home blood tests last year and I had really low B12 and Folates so defo should have taken the supplements earlier Confused
I read sperm takes like 3 months to produce too so my hubby should have started earlier too haha
Awesome that you were so prepared! And solid cycles must mean they are working right!
I didn't know that I needed applicators until I saw the picture on the box Shock but it does say you don't have to. Not really sure what the difference is between application and just putting it on directly like lube though?

I'm kind of not sure what the gel does either @hullaballoo19 haha
It says on the box it protects the barrier for sperm compared to other lubes but I've actually never used lube before so not sure if it'll help me?
I think I brought it because it mimics the ph levels so the sperm stays active?

Oo how strange about the Salmon! I get that way with apples and pears and my throat closes up a bit Shock
Are you going to cut salmon out now?
That's great you're feeling better this month though! I think I'll be calmer this month too after my extensive panicking last month haha

@Emloba87 Don't worry that was me the beginning of this month literally googled every abbreviation haha
Is this your first cycle? I'm super super impatient too but I'm hoping I'll become better as I get used to more cycles

Emloba87 · 29/04/2021 17:22

Yes. I finished my pill and started a bleed a few days later so now need to wait until my next period I guess before I can figure it all out. Think we will just keep trying this month and then start tracking after my next cycle. I’m excited but soooo impatient haha xx

Elsbeth1 · 29/04/2021 17:43

@Emloba87 my friend told me that you are super fertile when you first come off the pill Shock
Not sure if she's right but she did get pregnant first time after doing it once Wink

Veronika13 · 29/04/2021 23:55

I was the same. Dont worry give it a week and you'll be a pro 🤣 I was.

Ttc - trying to conceive
Af - period
Dpo - days post ovulation
Dtd - do the deed (have sex)
Opk - Ovulation prediction kit
BFN- big fat negative
Bfp- big fat positive
TMI - too much information

Welcome on the journey! Grin 🚌

hullaballoo19 · 30/04/2021 07:05

Morning, bfn for me on a frer this morning. 🤞 for cycle 5!

@zeromango?!?!?!

Emloba87 · 30/04/2021 07:14

This is brilliant! Thank you!!!! Haha saved me a morning on google! Grin

zeromango · 30/04/2021 07:15

So sorry @hullaballoo19! Are you officially due on tomorrow? I didn't get a BFP until the day after af was due, there is always hope until it arrives! DP is still bloody asleep! I want to do it with him so I'm in bed with a completely full bladder desperate for a wee Grin as soon as I test I'll post, my symptoms seem to have disappeared too which I don't think is a great sign..

@Emloba87 also BD - baby dance which is just another polite word for sex Grin - @Veronika13 has got it all covered!

hullaballoo19 · 30/04/2021 07:18

@Emloba87 and frer is first response early response (test), and cm is cervical mucous!

hullaballoo19 · 30/04/2021 07:23

@zeromango yeah due on tomorrow. Wasn't a huge surprise as haven't been feeling it (while still hoping of course), also felt a bit crampy last night and thought I might actually wake up with af having arrived. I'm disappointed, but it is what it is, nothing to do but try again next month. Perhaps I'll try a month of 'not trying', so many people I know say it happened when they 'stopped trying'

Oh bless you! I'd probably wake him, don't think I'd have the patience 😆 fingers crossed for you!

hullaballoo19 · 30/04/2021 07:25

Oh, and with dd I got my positive maybe a week after I was late. But I wasn't very aware of my cycles so took me that long to realise. So can't know whether I'm someone who has low hcg, but would have expected at least a faint line on a frer at this point

zeromango · 30/04/2021 07:35

@hullaballoo19 wow a week!! Apart from your chemical have you ever had any other pregnancies?

I think first response / early response tests can cause more anxiety than good a lot of the time - a lot more heartbreak that's needed really. If AF comes next month will
just wait for it to arrive even though I know it'll drag because id much rather be ignorant and not know! I really need to lose weight as well, as you can probably guess, this month wasn't too successful on that score Grin

OP posts:
hullaballoo19 · 30/04/2021 09:17

@zeromango actually I have. I had an abortion at 7 weeks when dd was 2, though I don't think of it often (some kind of repression I'm sure). I was a single mum and the guy was not someone I wanted to have a baby with at all (very long and horrible story). I hadn't even considered symptoms from that time in all my thinking about ttc now! Also don't remember any physical symptoms 🤔 I remember that I had to have an operation on my hand and they asked me if there was any chance I could be pregnant and something in me wouldn't allow me to say 'no' with confidence.. long time ago now but I think they gave me a test to take and it was negative, but no idea where in my cycle I would have been. And then a couple of weeks later I tested and got the positive (I think it must have been a couple of weeks but honestly couldn't say with any certainty!)

Yeah the early responses are tricky, you're so much more likely to catch the chemicals that you wouldn't even know about otherwise. Waiting with bated breath for your next message! 😊

zeromango · 30/04/2021 10:13

@hullaballoo19 oh bless you - absolutely no judgment here. I had one too around 5 weeks due to very personal reasons and the guilt has never left and makes me even more anxious something may go wrong! (Karma or something?!)

Sorry to keep you on tenderhooks! Unfortunately won't be testing until later today as I couldn't hold it in Grin and we decided we want to do it later on so we have some proper time afterwards depending on either result - so keep checking back later! Then will do another tomorrow if this one doesn't show anything.

OP posts:
hullaballoo19 · 30/04/2021 15:53

@zeromango nice that you'll do it together 😊 let us know how you get on

hullaballoo19 · 30/04/2021 15:59

@zeromango I'm sorry you've been through it too. Please don't feel like that about 'karma'. Of course I understand the guilt, but we do our best to make the right decisions, and we can only work with what we feel, know and can try to predict ❤️

zeromango · 30/04/2021 18:43

@hullaballoo19 BFP Shock can't believe it!

Anyone going to TTC in April?
