Hi all! Just looking for some TTC buddies! We have planned to start trying in April, we already have a DC who is 2.5. Would love for somebody else to join!

My goal is to lose a bit of weight first as I've gained about a stone back during the 3rd lockdown and want to be as healthy as possible. I've also started taking the Seven Seas Trying for a baby vitamins! Feeling nervous but excited (DC was a surprise Grin)

Sounds like you've done everything right @Veronika13
Fingers crossed for you ! ♥️

Appletreehat · 07/04/2021 08:47

@zeromango Thanks for the recommendation- I have heard the seven Seas vits are very good - I've been taking another brand of folic acid with b12 for 2 months now, but I'm going to order the seven seas vits once the current ones run out.

zeromango · 07/04/2021 09:50

Welcome @Veronika13 - Oooh so hoping you'll be our first BFP on this thread! Grin Keeping everything crossed for you

@Appletreehat Good luck! They're only about £3 from amazon so worth a try - I was definitely swayed by the positive reviews haha! I'm due to ovulate next week, I'm feeling weirdly optimistic but trying to keep nice and calm with it only being the first month! Coq10 is meant to be good too although I've not bought yet - there's so much advice out there it can be a bit overwhelming! Trying not to overthink it and just enjoying DTD with DP Grin

@zeromango ah perhaps I'll give that a try 😊 flo sound pretty similar to Premom, might download and see if I prefer it.

Af seems to have ended after just 3 days this month (I'm usually bleeding for 4/5 days). I've been tracking my periods for almost 2 years now and they seem to have gotten shorter and lighter recently 🤔 tracked my ovulation last month from first day after period ended until about a week after my peak as I wanted a full month of data. I seem to have quite a rapid onset (very low readings until the day before my peak and then low again straight after) so I think this month I'm going to start tracking around cd10.

EllieAdam · 07/04/2021 11:12
@zeromango maybe I need to make sure I'm drinking loads, I don't seem to get any cm at all really 🤔 I'd try grapefruit juice but grapefruit is the only fruit I hate! I use the Premom app but only because the ovulation sticks I use are linked to that app. What's flo like?
I don't know flo. I like premom. You can use the app even you use other brands. Just upload the tests to the "Others" gallery.

Fuzzybump · 07/04/2021 17:48

Hi Everyone, sending good luck and baby dust to everyone trying this month.

Short protocol
Day4 stims
Start antagonist tomorrow, anyone else on short using rekovelle this month?

Sarie24 · 07/04/2021 18:21

Hey everyone, I'd also love to join! We're going to start trying for our first baby in April. AF is due this weekend so our first cycle starts soon... very excited :)

I'm also in the "gained lockdown weight" crew with a good 1.5 stone I didn't have 12 months ago... oops! Hoping it doesn't affect our chances too much but I have been slowly shedding the pounds the last few weeks and have introduced folic acid and vitamin D to my diet!

I'm 35 in June so a little nervous that we're late starting but hoping things go well for us over the next few months - trying not to get too hung up on it and just see how things go for a while :)

I use Clue and have fortunately used it for about 5 years so my tracking info is fairly accurate and I haven't used any birth control for around 9 years as they used to mess with me, so hoping that also means my body is fairly regulated for starting this process... still nervous though! :) Nice to meet all of you! Grin

Veronika13 · 07/04/2021 21:11

Welcome @Sarie24 👋🏻
I'm similar, 34, used Flo app for years to track period, no contraceptives cos about 10 years.

This is my first cycle ttc and my period is due on 12th April so I'm waiting :)
You haven't left it too late at all, my friend just became a mum at 37 and she said she's the youngest at her mum group! I feel a lot more ready emotionally and financially to have a baby now. Exciting times for you x

Veronika13 · 07/04/2021 21:13

Woke up with pms cramps 😑 af is due in 4 days. I feel okay about it. It would have been v v lucky to conceive on the first month anyway 😆 no sore boobs yet though so don't rule me out yet haha:)

zeromango · 11/04/2021 12:56

Welcome @Sarie24 and @Fuzzybump!

How are we getting on? Nothing much to report at all as I don't ovulate until around the 16th of April so this week I'll be necking the grapefruit juice and eating healthy. Damn I really must remember to keep drinking lots too - I've actually ordered myself a pretty new water bottle to keep me motivated! I've managed to drop 3lbs since beginning of April (god knows how with Easter haha!) which I'm really pleased about (although I still have another 3 stone to go, groooan)

DP and I have decided to put absolutely no pressure on ourselves for the first few months, just eating better, less caffeine, vitamins etc. Will just take things as they come (so to speak )

@Veronika13 Oh bless you, fingers crossed you get your BFP - you're not out until AF shows! Will you be testing do you think?

OP posts:
hullaballoo19 · 12/04/2021 12:23

Nothing much to report :) will be starting opks tomorrow (meant to start today but forgot to bring a stick to work!), app predicts ovulation this Saturday coming.

Must remember to get grapefruit juice to make some kind of smoothie!

I definitely should be trying to lose weight as I'm about 6 stone overweight :( but really struggling with motivation (as per usual!). I have really worried about my weight, I wasn't overweight when I got pregnant with dd (9) so didn't have to think about it then.

Veronika13 · 12/04/2021 22:18

@zeromango af started on Sunday. Was upset as it's like we dtd every other day at least, and I checked 21 day bloods the month before - I ovulate as per Flo app.

So you do wonder: why can't I get pregnant then? But then need to remind myself it takes a lot longer than 1 month for most people. Start having lingering thoughts like: what if it takes me years? What if I can never get pregnant?! But then obviously push those thoughts away Smile

I ovulate next Sunday so this time I think I'll start using OPKs. How are you getting on? X

zeromango · 13/04/2021 20:50

@Veronika13 so sorry AF arrived - fingers crossed for the next cycle. I'm the same, I have it in my head it will be this month but making a baby is surprisingly complicated when you break it down! I was reading that it's actually best to have sex every day in your fertile window although I personally don't think I could manage that haha! Let us know how you get on with the OPKs, which brand will you be using?

@hullaballoo19 bless you. It's so hard to lose weight at the moment, especially with everything opening back up. Try not to put too much pressure on yourself, I'm just trying to eat better and drink more at present! Still scoffed two Jaffa cakes for brekkie but we won't mention those ... Wink

Grapefruit juice is vile - my tastebuds have definitely changed! Grin I'm trying to drink just a glass a day, I'm also using Conceive Plus lube is offensively expensive for just a wee tube!

OP posts:
zeromango · 13/04/2021 20:52

@hullaballoo19 my app has predicted Friday for OV, it will be so nice to test at a similar
Time. I'll be looking out for EWCM, it's been regular for the last 4 months so I'm really hopefully that will be enough to go by for now

OP posts:
hullaballoo19 · 14/04/2021 08:42

@zeromango lol about the grapefruit! It's just so bitter 🤮

I started opks on Monday, v.low readings but that seems normal for me. I don't tend to get much cm, handy that you can use that for tracking 👍 When is af due for you?

Sorry @Veronika13 about af, it's so frustrating doing everything you should and then that disappointment. I think the first cycle is particularly tough because you throw yourself into it and feel really positive and excited and then the disappointment hits. Good luck for next cycle 😊

zeromango · 14/04/2021 09:20

@hullaballoo19 it tastes like orange juice after you've brushed your teeth Grin eurgh! What type of OPKs are you using? I keep looking at the cheap ones on Amazon and then backing out! I definitely think if we have no joy the next few months I'll look into it though!

How are we will getting on in general? The days are flying by now spring is arriving and the days are lighter (didn't winter feel a total slog!) DC starts nursery soon which is why we started trying, as we thought hopefully by the time DC2 arrives DC1 will be nice and settled.

The first month feels so weird doesn't it - I have to keep reminding myself it's only a 25% chance even if you do everything absolutely spot on. I've had two MCs before so I'm definitely feeling anxious already which is so silly!

OP posts:
hullaballoo19 · 14/04/2021 11:24

@zeromango 😂

I use the easy@home opks and order on Amazon. The most recent box I got had something like 50 opk tests and 20 hcg tests. I don't really know how good the hcg tests are as only had negatives last month, but they're supposed to be quite sensitive.

I'm very sorry about your miscarriages and wishing you lots of luck this time ❤️ not something I've been through myself. I had a chemical pregnancy in February but wasn't particularly upsetting, mostly just disappointing

littlefeet32 · 14/04/2021 12:32

Hi everyone, I hope you don't mind me joining. We're trying for DC2, DC1 is 6 so a bit of an age gap but it's taken me a long time to decide I'm ready to go through it all again! Feeling nervous but hoping that will pass. Wishing you all lots of luck this month Smile

beautifulinitstime · 14/04/2021 13:53

Hi everyone. Can I join in too?

A bit of background for me here, I miscarried 10wks last January and it was our first one after trying about a year plus. Guess it wasn't our time yet.

So here I am today, CD 7 in my second cycle after the miscarriage. Gonna start dipping my OPK around CD 10. I just want my rainbow to appear soon as possible, God willing. Blush

Wishing everyone the best too, and sending hugs and thoughts for us who are in this together. Thanks

zeromango · 16/04/2021 21:01

Hmmmmm so I'm not really convinced of the grapefruit juice thing @hullaballoo19 haha! I had the tiniest tiniest amount of rubbery(!) EWCM yesterday streaked with brown and back to white thicker discharge today (very typical after OV.) So to sum up....I don't have a bloody clue. Grin We DTD yesterday thankfully but I've no idea if OV was due or not - definitely going to be buying some OPKs for next month I think! And just DTD as much as possible this month. I think I'll sack off the juice when it's finished the bottle!

Welcome @littlefeet32, how exciting trying for number 2! @beautifulinitstime! You're more than welcome. So sorry to hear of your MC, keeping everything crossed for you this month!

OP posts:
hullaballoo19 · 17/04/2021 00:25

@zeromango lol! I'll not subject myself to that then 😂 pretty sure I've just ovulated, lots of pain in that area earlier this evening after a high opk earlier today. Unfortunately dp and I had a row on weds so haven't been dtd leading up to it 🙁 but still in with a chance tonight/tomorrow 🤞frustrating though!

zeromango · 17/04/2021 01:23

@hullaballoo19 Oh no! Sorry to hear that - hopefully you'll have lots of fun making up Grin Greats news on the OPKs, we seem to have really similar cycles so it'll be good to have this thread to come back to during the dreaded TWW!

Hi ladies,
Hope you don’t mind me jumping in. I do find these groups helpful.
I’m 34, ttc #1 for over a year.
Got a fertility appointment in June.
Using the CB opk sticks again this month and just had my 5th flashing smily - I’m not smiling!!!
I tried folic acid months ago and it defo increased my cycle by about 4 days.
I hate the pressure of dtd. Do you think it’s ok every other day?
Good luck to you all and thanks for the grapefruit tips x

zeromango · 17/04/2021 20:14

Welcome @DeeDee20! Highly recommend the seven seas vitamins they really regulated my cycle for the last four months I've been taking them (I'm now 28 days) unfortunately I didn't see any benefit to taking the grapefruit juice although it shouldn't hurt to try! Smile

I read every other day is actually more beneficial as it allows the sperm to regenerate (well it was a bit more science-y than that Grin) I think DTD every night would be way too much pressure so try not worry about the amount of sex, it's when that counts. Best of luck for this month!

I'm officially in the TWW now - anyone else?? Next AF is 1st May.

Jumping in!!!

Trying for our first. Been trying on and off for 1.5yrs. Two miscarriages. I'm 37 since it matters :) all our tests with fertility clinic came back good.

Since last miscarriage this is our third month trying. Second month of me taking progesterone.

I'm 7dpo, and crossing all my fingers and toes for a miracle. Please send me your positive thoughts ❤️
