Hi,
(Also posted this in miscarriage talk, but had no replies)

So a quick summary. In 2015 I was pregnant with Identical twin girls, I lost them at 24 weeks with TTTS (twin to twin transfusion syndrome) I gave birth to them both.

Fast forward to 2020, I fall pregnant in March and I miscarry at 9 weeks after a private scan showed no baby on the screen. An empty sac. We tried again in the June and it took us until October to fall pregnant again. I found out on October 24th and on the 31st I started bleeding and was told it was a chemical pregnancy because the hospital test came back negative, but I had positives the week before on blue dye tests and digital ones. I was 5 weeks pregnant. I then fell pregnant again straight after I presume, no period whole of the November, faint positives on tests, started bleeding heavily on December 13th and was told it was a miscarriage again.

And to now, I’ve had a pelvis ultrasound, came back with the lining of my womb fine, the womb fine, my ovaries just showed a small amount of cysts so was given blood tests to check for polycystic ovaries, got those results back and all came back clear and no further action needed. Had tests for Thrombophilia, also came back clear. And I’ve had a period since the December loss.

Due to Covid I’m having to wait a bit longer for my miscarriage clinic referral appointment to come through. My doctor has given me the all clear to keep trying in the meantime. But I’m so fed up and drained with it. I just need advice if anyone has been referred to the miscarriage clinic and what was the outcome, if any. Because I’m very doubtful I’ll get answers.

Hi Ladies I hope you all don't mind me jumping in! Congratulations on your bfp OP Smile I have had 2 miscarriages recently and have just received a very faint positive yesterday morning, period is due tomorrow. I seen a fertility doctor after my most recent miscarriage in November and she advised to take aspirin for the next pregnancy and also get prescribed progesterone.

My GP has said progesterone will be prescribed no issue so that's good! But the aspirin I still haven't taken and I am scared too incase I bleed out or something. Has anyone had any side effects taking this?

Emmav2020 · 08/02/2021 19:17

@MollySxx so happy for you. Just a quick question what does progesterone do? Just ordered some tests of amazon, first response so ill test soon as they come then one the morning after.

Think im going to up my mg of aspiring then aswell. X

MollySxx · 08/02/2021 19:18

@Moominmiss I have to say it’s the strongest I’ve got in all my pregnancies. And I’m really trying not to run away with myself. But I keep telling myself this is it, this is the one. I just feel different completely. I know it’s still early early early, but you just know when you’re so in tune with your body.

My doctors are usually really good, so hopefully beer from them tomorrow. If not I’ll hound them😂 but definitely taking it upon myself with the aspirin. If it’s not proven to harm, like we say what’s the harm in using it

And normally you get the midwife that is registered at your GP’s but I thing with Covid going on and having to self refer yourself (where I live) to the hospital to get your appointments, they just assign a midwife. But I am going to try and get my GP midwife as I had her for my twins pregnancy and she was amazing. Came to the girls funeral, came to see me afterwards when I think I was meant to be discharged. But she made so much effort x

@Fawn68 oh wow, congratulations💞 a line is a line no matter how faint.

And that’s amazing news that you’ve got the progesterone also, I’ve read a lot of good things about it. Also the aspirin, I’ve been taking it for a while now. Even before I found out I was pregnant. Was just doing the 75mg, now I’m pregnant I’m doing the 150mg and I haven’t noticed any side affects at all for me personally x

@Emmav2020 copied from google so I explain it better. “Progesterone is known as the “pregnancy hormone.” Progesterone helps the fertilized egg be implanted in the uterus to establish a pregnancy and help maintain a healthy pregnancy. Women naturally produce progesterone in the ovaries, the placenta, and the adrenal glands during pregnancy” so basically it just helps you a little bit and it’s normally prescribed to women who have history of early pregnancy bleeding or recurrent miscarriages x

@Fawn68 I’ve been taking it since 1dpo and I’m now just over 7 weeks and have had no side effects to note so far 🤞🏻

@MollySxx that’s how I felt this time., it just felt different, I felt more positive. I got a bfp at 8dpo, by 10dpo I had my 1-2 weeks on a digital, 2-3 by 12dpo and then 3+ at 19dpo. Everything progressed great. I had a full on dye stealer on a frer by 13dpo and I know some people say you can’t base the progression of a pregnancy on test lines etc, but for me with my losses the lines got to a certain point and then just stopped progressing. This is the first time they’ve seemed different.

So happy for you!

Fawn68 · 08/02/2021 20:02

@Moominmiss great thank you! I just took one tonight there so fingers crossed all will be ok and I've took it in good enough time. X

MollySxx · 09/02/2021 07:21

I’m not sure if I’m just going crazy here. But I’ve been taking a test every morning with first morning urine. Is the line just staying the same? I thought yesterday it was really progressing. But just doing this all together is making me doubt. Could also be the fact I had a throbbing headache in the middle of the night and now having small cramps and I’m just panicking the bleed is coming at any point. I was so positive until today as well🥺

@MollySxx how many dpo are you? You probably won't notice much difference in lines in a day I think if you were to test again in 3-4 days you would notice a difference then! Stay positive, I know it's easier said than done Thanks

MollySxx · 09/02/2021 08:17

@Fawn68 I am actually not sure when I ovulated. I presume it must of been straight after I came off my period because I started tracking it a week after I came off and it kept coming back negative with the faint ovulation test line. I didn’t invest myself into tracking because it just consumes me. Hence why I’m like this now with the tests x

OP posts:
Fawn68 · 09/02/2021 08:21

@MollySxx Do you know when your period is due again? I think those lines are good, so hard to try and relax 😔

MollySxx · 09/02/2021 08:24

@Fawn68So it should of been due yesterday. I got my first positive on Saturday. Mainly because my partner kept saying I thought I was pregnant, so I took the test to prove him wrong, ended up proving him right😂 but if I go off my period app where it auto predicts my ovulation I’ll be 13dpo today x

OP posts:
Fawn68 · 09/02/2021 08:29

@MollySxx honestly I think your lines are good for just being due yesterday! Also I think those strip tests are meant to be notorious for staying lightish. I know it's so hard to do but try giving up the tests for a few days and even try with a frer x

MollySxx · 09/02/2021 08:35

@Fawn68 I ordered some first response on Saturday and they are due to be delivered today. So I’m going to leave them until Thursday and test then. And going to leave a digital until I’m exactly a week late. When you’ve just lost, it’s just such anxiety. So annoyed at myself for getting hyped up like this when I’ve been so positive since I found out x

OP posts:
Emmav2020 · 09/02/2021 09:32

@MollySxx I think todays line looks slightly darker. Ive ordered some first response tests aswell and they come today so i will do it tomorrow morning. will let you know my result. forgot to reply yday and say i never took a test after mc for a negative. i was just feeling that down i couldnt face doing a test. i had no motivation to do one at all. my last blood test though they said the hcg levels were pretty much back to 0.
Yes i would defo leave it till thursday/friday x

MollySxx · 09/02/2021 09:44

@Emmav2020 no, I totally get that. It’s the feeling it brings seeing the test as nothing. I get where you are coming from so much.

And yes, I’m going to wait. Hoping my doctors ring me today and possibly twist their arm for a HCG blood test x

OP posts:
Emmav2020 · 09/02/2021 10:27

@MollySxx I was going to start tracking my ovulation but i didnt even have any motivation to do that. I would just get obsessed over it and i needed a break from peeing on sticks haha.

Do you have any pregnancy symptoms?
its so annoying how because of our histories we cant enjoy it. x

MollySxx · 09/02/2021 10:39

@Emmav2020 I’ve been feeling sick, but not being sick, sore breast to the touch, the white discharge. Which was a lot yesterday but I’m guessing it’s because I was in work and walking a lot. No appetite at all, then sudden bursts of hunger. Had heartburn yesterday and today also. But that’s about it x

OP posts:
Emmav2020 · 09/02/2021 10:51

@MollySxx aww hopefully the sickness and heartburn dont get to bad.
How many weeks do you think you are now then? x

MollySxx · 09/02/2021 10:53

@Emmav2020 my last period was January 8th, so I class myself as 4 weeks. My period was due this month on the 7th according to my period app and it’s never wrong. Always been regular with my cycles x

OP posts:
Emmav2020 · 09/02/2021 11:02

@MollySxx Yes i was using an app to track everytnhig last year and it was normally spot on aswell. i need my tests to hurry want to see what its going to say. amazon said delivery could be 10pm tonight, be well away by then haha x

MollySxx · 10/02/2021 12:51

@Moominmiss hey! Just a few questions I have about progesterone. My consultant has done the letter for my gp to prescribe, I’m just waiting on them to sign it until I can actually get started with it.

But as it’s a pessary, do you get given like a syringe to insert it up there enough? Or do you just do it yourself? It’s like my main question I have. How will I know it’s up there enough😂

OP posts:
Fawn68 · 10/02/2021 13:14

@MollySxx keeping an eye on this too, as I am waiting on my prescription also! Lol

MollySxx · 10/02/2021 13:20

@Fawn68 I had to chase it up yesterday because my consultant hadn’t emailed it over to my doctors, which I get because no doubt they didn’t expect me to get a positive so soon😂 but it just needs to signed off before getting sent to my gp. I just know I’ll be on a 400mg dose. Fingers crossed you hear soon. Hoping mine is by the end of the week x

I'd take a pregnancy multivitamin everyday make sure it's NOT a normal one with Vitamin A. Then try and boost your iron levels. With an additional iron on top for a month / two. If you fall pregnant keep the pregnancy multi vit but stop the additional iron. There is a lack of studies on this, but it worked for me after struggling with secondary infertility after a miscarriage.
