Hello
Hope everyone is as well as they can be. I was just wondering if somebody would mind telling me what their first proper cycle was . This month I am starting to TTC again. I used the Basel temp readings alongside a digital ovulation kit. My ovulation kit said at day 11 that my peak was happening in the next 24 /36 hours but my temp dropped at day 11 and then it only rises a little bit. I also use to have much more of a straight rise .
While I am glad I think ovulated I was just wondering if it is all out of sorts because of the ectopic and I need to stop looking into everything but I just can’t help it. I am including my chart sorry it has my baby dance ( I call them cup of teas because we always seem to have one either after or before Smile
What do you all think ? I would be grateful for any thought. When do you think I ovulated ? Does everything look ok ?

Sammyclaire22 · 24/01/2021 09:20

@hlump1980 looks like you have ovulated as you've got more than 3 readings over the coverline. It's hard but I would be patient and see what the next few readings are like but looks like it matches your timing for ewcm? I'd guess at about day 12? But I found I used previous patterns and my opks to narrow mine down more as my rises often took a few days to rise rather than a steep jump. It helped me pick up that I was ovulating a bit early too (around cd10) which I started taking agnus for.
How do you take your bbt? Oral or vaginal? I gave up with oral as I was getting too much variation. Lots can affect the readings too (if you are sleeping restlessly etc) and they are so precise so sometimes I found some months looked a bit squiffy.

I also ended up using the femometer app for mine as it gives an analysis on your chart so mentions if it thinks readings are either not accurate or if there is an issue. X

Sammyclaire22 · 24/01/2021 09:25

Oh and fwiw I conceived my dd the month after my surgery, so it's totally possible. (we were ttc for 12m before my ectopic too, so my head was scrambled)
My chart from that month looks random as it says I ovulated a few days earlier than I probably did, so I would be happy with any rise showing that the hormone changes are happening at least. Good luck x

Hlump1980 · 24/01/2021 16:52

@Sammyclaire22 Thank you so much for the information . I really appreciate it . I take
My temp orally and even though during the week it is around the same time. There is very little chance I can wake at the same turn at the weekend . Xx

Morning everyone... Little bit of news here! Now the anxious wait to make sure it’s got a better sense of direction this time!

@Lililou I’m so sorry for the way your hospital treated you, that is absolutely shocking. Glad you are making a complaint though!!

@Kate105 That is an absolutely beautiful line! Congratulations 🎉

Luan82 · 25/01/2021 08:39

@Lililou - I'm so shocked that the hospital treated you so badly it just goes to show level of care can differ greatly by area my hospital were amazing very very supportive and the nurses were incredible, I'm so sorry that you had to go through that as well as the trauma of the ectopic. I was treated back in the earlier stages of the pandemic - trust me when I say the three month wait isn't as long as you think and that three months can help you process the loss and get your head together. I used the three month to research, dose myself up with all the relevant vitamins, eat healthier and exercise more. Currently I'm in the process trying castor oil packs and serrapeptase!!
@Kate105 - massive congratulations to you !!! Wonderful news ! ❤️❤️❤️x

NigellasMicrowave · 25/01/2021 10:55

@Kate105 super news for the start of the week! Fingers crossed for happy and healthy months to come.

Peachee · 25/01/2021 11:08

Hiii.. I’m trying casually for my 2nd baby after ectopic. It’s nice to know I’m with other people in a similar boat.. Last time I felt like it was a double guessing game. A) wondering whether we were baby dancing at the right time for ovulation and.. B) whether the sperm will actually meet the egg and it doesn’t go floating off in the ibis!!

First time round we were both due to go to birm women’s hospital to check DPs swimmers as we had been trying for a while.. low and behold that was the month I caught. I now have a bouncing 13 month old!!
I hope this gives some people hope! Nice to meet you all!! Smile

Luan82 · 25/01/2021 11:19

Hi @Peachee !! It took me a while to conceive at first too (though granted the first was ectopic and that was a little over six months of trying) I think my hormones took a while to adjust after being on the pill for so long my progesterone was very low at first - I didn't realise that at the time but seems like it can take six months to get back on track! I often hear that women with ectopics have been trying for a while to conceive - wonder if us girls have a little bit of scarring or adhesions in our tubes could explain why we struggle to conceive as quickly as others due to that additional obstacle for his swimmers to overcome ?

ThinnerByDinner · 25/01/2021 11:28

Hi Ladies, I am just hopping on as going through an ectopic pregnancy currently however I am doing ‘expectant management’ as we are hopeful this is resolving itself. Back & forth for HCG tests, last one was weds night and my levels were 66. Next one is Thursday and I’m hoping for a big drop. I’ve been really well treated at the hospital. I ended up being admitted on weds night as I was having lots of symptoms of a rupture. I was monitored overnight and discussed with the consultant the next morning, everything looked ok and like expectant management was still working, we think I had a massive panic attack.
It’s just such a strange, scary time. Has anyone else been through expectant management? I am not sure when I will be ready to try again, my husband wants to but this experience has terrified me. I have a 3 year old daughter and I have been terrified I’m going to leave her without a mum if I try again and this happens again.
Probably totally irrational thinking and the reason behind me panic attack! I’m usually very level headed and rationale. I’ve had miscarriage before but this is another level!

ThinnerByDinner · 25/01/2021 11:35

@Lililou sorry to hear about everything you went through! I know we’ve spoken before. I hope your doing ok. X

Sammyclaire22 · 25/01/2021 12:00

Hi everyone,
Congrats @kate105, being pregnant in the pandemic is a little bit crazy let alone the complications of ectopic worries so wishing you lots of love for the months ahead.

Just wanted to update! Little miss arrived this morning at 12.21am on her due date. 9lb 4! She's our little miracle conceived from my tubeless side, and doing brilliantly. I ended up with quite a lot of blood loss, not sure why as the placenta came quickly and I had no tears. Managed to stay home though but feeling pretty drained.

@peachee I'm under the women's too, I highly recommend their home birth team. This is my second home birth with them and it was another amazing experience!

NigellasMicrowave · 25/01/2021 12:48

Oh, what fabulous news @Sammyclaire22 well done you! What a wonderful size too - you are a megastar. How rotten to have ended up with so much blood lost but wishing you a speedy recovery from that. So pleased she’s arrived safely. You both will give a lot of people a lot of hope.

Lililou · 25/01/2021 12:51

Thank you so much all, it's reassuring at least that others got better treatment. I think the increased risk of another ectopic is making me want to reconsider the hospital in future. I dread the thought of running into that same doctor. The only thing is that this hospital is literally 10 minutes from my house which is great for if there is an emergency. The next closest hospital isn't too far probably, 20 minute. I guess I have time to think anyway as I want to wait the 3 months before TTC again.

I finally got my hospital complaint finished and submitted on Saturday, that felt like a load off and I think writing it all down has helped me process it. Also did a pregnancy test almost 2 weeks after laparoscopy surgery. They actually said to do it at 3 weeks but I got curious, it came back negative which felt like another good milestone.

@ThinnerByDinner , I'm sorry to hear yours turned out to be ectopic. I understand how scary it is. It's positive that your HCG levels are low and you can go down the route of expectant management. It sounds as though you are at very low risk of rupture. I'm glad they're looking after you. I'm doing well now thank you, physically and emotionally. I should be back to work from tomorrow - albeit from home but I think that makes things easier. We'll see how the first few weeks go but right now I'm feeling quite positive.

@Kate105 that's such wonderful news, I'm so happy for you. I got the anxious wait goes quickly and you have a happy and healthy pregnancy.

@Sammyclaire22 more wonderful news, a huge congratulations to you! And from your tubeless side, that's amazing! I don't even understand how that works 😂

MrsB2019x · 25/01/2021 13:24

Congratulations @Sammyclaire22! Hope you are on the mend quickly 💕

@ThinnerByDinner Hope your levels have returned to normal by this week, it does give you a sense of closure. I found that was when my moving on period started to take shape. It is an incredibly scary experience and takes time to get your head around! It seems if they are happy to continue with expectant management then your chances of rupture seem quite low

@Lililou Keep us updated regarding the complaint, no woman should ever be treated like you were. Personally I’d go to the other hospital but see how you feel nearer the time Flowers

Peachee · 25/01/2021 13:44

@Sammyclaire22 Interesting!
I live in Worcestershire.. I wonder if I am in the ‘catchment’ for Birmingham. I had DS at Worcester.. they were lovely! Have always fancied the idea of a home birth!

DoctorBambino · 25/01/2021 15:51

@mumlili9 here is the thread 😊 how are you getting on?

Wow @sammyclaire22 such amazing news congratulations!!

Hi all

Just jumping on this thread as trying to conceive second baby. Had a ruptured ectopic a couple of years ago, and before that a missed MC. Got pregnant first cycle after ectopic surgery and that baby is now talking, so it is possible.

I'm a bit nervous about trying now but very aware if I lose another tube it's IVF :( and I'm not getting any younger...

EmilyG1989 · 25/01/2021 16:12

Hey everyone can I join the club? Had what I thought was a chemical pregnancy but diagnosed today as ectopic 😞 HCG levels are low from my first bloody test, 59, so I'm hoping expectant management will be my treatment. I have so many questions, so unexpected as I've got a healthy DS who we conceived second month of trying and no issues... Sorry you've all been through this, I'm going to read the whole thread

DoctorBambino · 25/01/2021 16:49

@caramelwaferandtea welcome to the thread 😊 I can totally understand your worries, you're in great company here!

@emilyG1989 sorry you've had to join us too, such a horrible experience to go through. I'm just linking the previous thread incase you want to look through that too, I found it very helpful

@ThinnerByDinner let me know how you go, so sorry you're going through this. I have so many questions, written some down for when I next go for blood tests Wednesday. Hoping for expectant management too although I'm not even sure if it's the better option at the point! 😞 we sound very similar. Although I fell wit DS 2nd month trying and this ectopic has been my first month TTC baby number 2...

EmilyG1989 · 25/01/2021 17:05

@DoctorBambino thank you lovely, I'll read that too xx

Luan82 · 25/01/2021 17:08

Hello to everyone that's joined !! Although sorry that's it's under these circumstances ☹️ it's so lovely to hear from the ladies that have conceived, are pregnant and have given birth - it certainly does give us all hope !! Many congrats @Sammyclaire22 that's such wonderful news 🌈🌈🌈 I know it's a very scary experience @ThinnerByDinner / I was terrified of ttc at first but in time it does get better - just remember that science has come such a long way and you will be seen ultra early the next time you conceive to make sure the little bean is in the right place, the important thing is to keep an eye on your body - I find that taking a pregnancy test even after my period just to make sure helps me - I buy them in bulk from Amazon!! If anyone has any questions just ask I'm sure the ladies here will be happy to help - I had loads of questions after my experience, asked a few from the docs, researched a lot and used the ectopic pregnancy trust which are wonderful btw x

Kate105 · 25/01/2021 17:41

Ah fabulous news @Sammyclaire22 congratulations! It’s been a good day all round I think ❤️ Still a little in shock but managing to let myself get a bit excited too, so it’s nice that I’m not completely overwhelmed by anxiety... Yet...!
