Congratulations to you, @Luan82 and @Lililou!

Can I ask you something? I had my surgery last Friday, I feel like it's been a month. I'm healing good, After two days I didn't have any pains anymore, only on day 3 I had AF style cramps, I had to take pain killers which made my low blood pressure fall even more and I felt really crap for an hour or so. After that, I had a bit of bleeding for a couple of days which stopped after 5 days. Is that the bleeding they told me I can expect after a week? As they took out my whole right tube, I don't think there will be much more bleeding?

And when did you start TTC again? I will not try for this month, that's for sure, I want to have a regular cycle before I even think about TTC again.

Kate105 · 22/06/2021 20:08

Hi @Bundaberg84 I think a bit of bleeding is fairly common.I didn't personally have any but then I had been bleeding for about 3 weeks beforehand! Everything is just resetting itself.

I had to wait 3 months because I'd had methotrexate before the op, but otherwise I think they just say to wait at least one cycle. I would say don't rush into it, it does mess with your head a wee bit when you start up again!

Dreamer30 · 22/06/2021 20:39

Hi ladies, I was directed to this thread last week but couldn't find it, now glad I have. I'm currently a week passed having the Methotrexate injection for a PUL expected eptopic. I had a MC on May 1st at 5w+2d although I suspect it was earlier than this (spotting and faint tests) and by May 27th I was pregnant again, no period in between. I got to 5w and had some strong cramping but no bleeding and my tests had started to get faint again so I thought another MC. Then at 5w+5d I started getting sharp pains on my right hand side so EPAS said I could go in for a scan. They couldn't see anything on US so had a transvaginal scan and they still couldn't see anything. This meant bloods then a return in 2 days. Then I got an internal exam for a doctor and I swear he was juggling my ovaries, it was so painful! Another scan and they found the pain was coming from a 2cm corpus luteum cyst. They also still couldn't find any pregnancy but my bloods were 141, then 147, then 145 over 6 days so they said the best option was Methotrexate as my levels were stagnant and there was a chance of repture because they couldn't find the pregnancy. It's been such a roller coaster. I got the injection on Monday, was fine Tuesday but Wednesday I was more ill than I've ever been! I had chills, nausea, shakes, no energy. Thursday and Friday were pretty much the same. I'm only now starting to feel more myself.
I'm a little sad that we can't TTC for 3 months now and my OH is gutted, he was so looking forward this time after our loss last time.
Hoping that by keeping up with this thread I can come to terms with things and look forward to the journey ahead. It's so lovely to see some of you already with your rainbow beans 💕🌈

HereIfYouNeedMe · 23/06/2021 16:49

@Dreamer30 hello! So sorry you've found yourself here, I also was treated with methotrexate and currently on my TWW after 2 cycles of properly trying again. It does go quickly if that's any consolation. Glad you're feeling a bit better physically now x

Dreamer30 · 23/06/2021 20:05

@HereIfYouNeedMe thank you so much. Did your cycles return to what they were previous? I used to have 26/27 day cycles so hoping it goes back to that as the waiting was more bearable lol. Good luck to you this month 😊

HereIfYouNeedMe · 23/06/2021 20:24

@Dreamer30 I'm the same, mine are 25/26 days and yes they returned back to normal and AF has arrived on time. I know a lot of people's don't though xx

HereIfYouNeedMe · 23/06/2021 20:25

@Dreamer30 and thank you, fingers crossed! I'm optimistic this month 😀 xx

MrsB2019x · 24/06/2021 08:51

@Luan82 How exciting! Best of luck! Flowers

Good luck to you too @HereIfYouNeedMe Flowers hope your TWW goes by quickly.

Sorry you find yourself here @Dreamer30. I was treated with methotrexate too, my cycles were around 26 days before the ectopic and hovered around 29/30 afterwards. So it can happen but I’m hoping that’s not the case for you! Hope you are recovering okay.

HereIfYouNeedMe · 24/06/2021 09:02

@MrsB2019x thank you! Can test Saturday xx

Dreamer30 · 24/06/2021 11:13

@MrsB2019x I'm expecting them to be a bit off but I'd be happy with 29/30 days. Thank you, I'm feeling fine now. Get my bloods on Monday and hoping that's the last time I'm back. Can I ask, were you told to take folic acid after your hormone level was at zero? I read Methotrexate stops your natural folic acid level so to take supplements 3 months before conception

MrsB2019x · 24/06/2021 12:46

@Dreamer30 Yeah I started taking them again once my levels were at zero, mine only took 2 weeks to get back down so it coincided quite well with waiting 3 months to try again

coffeewithmilk · 28/06/2021 14:24

Hi everyone, just thought I'd pop in to say hi! Hope you're all keeping well!
I'm now 8+3, all is going well

How are you getting on @DoctorBambino x

HereIfYouNeedMe · 29/06/2021 08:36

@coffeewithmilk so happy to hear you're doing well 😊

Bundaberg84 · 29/06/2021 09:01

Hi all, I hope you are all well! @coffeewithmilk good to hear! I hope everything will go as smoothly as possible for you.

For everyone that had to remove a tube: in the hospital, they told me I should expect a (strong or medium) bleeding in around a week after the surgery. I had minor bleeding from day 3 on, for maybe 4 days or so. Light enough for a thin pad. As the surgery was 2 weeks ago - do you think that was it? And my next bleeding will be my AF?

MrsB2019x · 29/06/2021 12:24

So pleased everything is going well @coffeewithmilk 🥰

Louise276 · 29/06/2021 13:06

Congratulations @coffeewithmilk so pleased it's going well! When is your 12 week scan? Xx

Louise276 · 29/06/2021 13:08

@Bundaberg84 I had my tube out on the Wednesday and my period started maybe the Friday/Saturday.

I would say that my bleeding was rather heavy and similar to my previous MCs but that may just be me - I was 7 weeks pregnant so i would have thought may have had been a reason why it was heavier.

Have you done a HPT test to see if your HCG has gone down? I am sure it was your period, just maybe lighter than usual!

Have you decided when you are going to try again? Xx

HereIfYouNeedMe · 30/06/2021 12:11

Hey everyone! Hopeful news here, AF due tomorrow

TTC after ectopic Part 2
NigellasMicrowave · 30/06/2021 12:15

Ah how lovely @HereIfYouNeedMe fingers well and truly crossed.

Can’t believe you’re getting so close to the 12 week mark @coffeewithmilk. Amazing stuff - time seems to be flying by.

All okay here - in a TWW (I think) but not hopeful as my first jab seems to have messed around with my cycle and no idea when I ovulated. Still, a small price to pay for a vaccine and not uncommon - just a bit annoying.

HereIfYouNeedMe · 30/06/2021 12:18

@NigellasMicrowave thank you!!
Ah really? That's so annoying for you! My second jab is booked for next Friday, I'm just going to go for it I think... should I speak to the GP first?
We need a new thread and not sure how to tag everyone 🤦🏻‍♀️ is it just @ then username? If someone doesn't mind doing it that would be amazing 😁

NigellasMicrowave · 30/06/2021 12:46

Good the second jab is booked in. It’s totally a personal decision, but I’ve decided to keep my second jab whatever the outcome of TTC because I’d have the flu jab if offered whilst pregnant and I don’t see much difference. However, I don’t have any judgement on women who decide differently - I completely get it.

It is really annoying that it has messed my cycle up a bit though. Have warned DH of mega PMT this month Grin

Bundaberg84 · 30/06/2021 13:56

@Louise276 thank you for your reply! I was already bleeding before my surgery so I guess it kinda "started" already if that makes sense. So I just wait and find out when my next AF will start. No, I haven't done any hcg tests, they didn't tell me it was necessary and I just wanted a break of peeing on things :)
I will wait out at least July, we're having a nice holiday planned so I intend to drink a lot of wine and eating whatever my heart desires, and then maybe after that looking into starting again. I have an appointment at my ob/gyn in a week, I will talk to him about it.

myrainbowjourney · 30/06/2021 14:34

Hi ladies. Hope you are all well, and hope it's ok for me to jump on board?

Bit of background, I'll try to keep it short.

I fell pregnant with my first last March, and sadly miscarried at about 6 weeks. I was devastated but naively thought it was a one off, but went on to have another in July last year. Question mark over a chemical in august but suspect it was actually residual hcg. Was referred to RMC who did all the tests and they all came back as 'great' so they said I'd have progesterone next time. Next time came in March this year and while I had a few little bleeds, it seemed to be going better. Early scans with EPU showed nothing certain and blood tests then confirmed hcg wasn't doubling so they diagnosed another miscarriage. I opted for a mva so they could test the tissue. This wasn't pleasant, as I was awake, but my stubborn personality who wants some control of my body wouldn't have it any other way.
We went on about our lives thinking it was another one (having already become very numb to the news, but no less sad) but a couple of weeks after I almost collapsed at home and I had to have emergency surgery for what turned out to be an ectopic that had been missed. Turned out the hospital had had the results from my unnecessary MVA which wasn't pregnancy tissue, but they hadn't got round to telling me that......
As you will all be aware, it was all pretty traumatic, especially as I was alone and all of a sudden you are signing a form giving permission to take a tube away - as if the TTC wasn't hard enough already!?

When we thought it was another miscarriage, we started planning to see a private specialist, but knowing it was ectopic now makes me wonder whether we have a RMC issue or just horrendous bad luck??

I have still booked to see the consultant which is in early august, as the wait was so long. I didn't want to get a few months down the line and go to book only to find it's 2022! I know this is going to be expensive but I'd not forgive myself if we got pregnant again, I miscarried another, and then find out there's an issue that could have been helped.

I'm excited to have a plan and try again, it's just suddenly dawned on me what a long road we might be facing. I'm sure I'm not alone in saying how sad I am that this journey has come to this. I also really wish we could start trying now, but I know a break is probably best.

I've read this and previous threads and I'm so sorry for you all going through this, and so so delighted for those of you who are pregnant or have had your babies.

I joined a thread like this last year with my miscarriages and it was such a great support, it's lovely to see another thread with so much support in it too xx
