Thank you for your replies, I feel so supported by you all. I have to travel to the hospital for 'consent' this morning, go back to work then back up again after work for the injection and convincing myself I'll be back at work tomorrow... optimistic? 😂
I've finally caught up on the old thread! I'm going to go through this one again but I'm so invested in everyone's stories. Thanks again for taking the time to reassure me 😘

MrsB2019x · 28/01/2021 08:27

@HereIfYouNeedMe I was instantly signed off for 2 weeks when I had the injection so I doubt you’ll be back to work tomorrow! Good luck for today x

HereIfYouNeedMe · 28/01/2021 09:06

@MrsB2019x oh no 🤦🏻‍♀️ I'm so uninformed, here now so hopefully that'll change. Thanks hun xx

ActonBell · 28/01/2021 10:18

Hi everyone - just quickly checking in and waving from the world of tiredness. Im still not sleeping and I’m having panic symptoms at night. Luckily I have a good therapist, so I’m sure I’ll get there eventually.

Congratulations on positive tests and hopeful journeys.

Strength to everyone else, particularly those going through treatment. Flowers

What nice things has everyone been doing for themselves by way of self-care?

Luan82 · 28/01/2021 14:04

@HereIfYouNeedMe My experience was very similar to @NigellasMicrowave - the numbers were getting very high right on the limit for when I could take the injection and they did rise a bit at first then went down but it took a while probably as they were so high just under 2000!! (your numbers are low so that's defo in your favour!) I did get bad cramps after the injection then bleeding a few days in and what was the worst for me - I consider myself lucky that the side effects were minimal 🤞🏼
@Lililou - maybe a bit of irritation in the uterus from the procedure? Or maybe as your levels are now down to zero your body is shedding the lining? I'm afraid that as I had the injection I'm not very clued up on it! If it is OV I know that after my ectopic I do now get sharp ovulation cramps at either side then my LH surge then the next day cramps in my uterus like a heavy feeling if that makes sense? Actually I'm a day after my LH surge and have those right now ! Hope that helps x

Luan82 · 28/01/2021 14:11

@ActonBell so sorry to hear you're still not doing so well, it's such a tough thing to go through particularly when we are all already so isolated from everyone - in hindsight I definitely feel the three month break did me good, I could reflect and concentrate on myself - I've been exercising more (as much as I can all things considered!) and been cooking lots of fresh meals and baking too, though I'm trying not to eat everything I bake - it's a vicious cycle ! 😂 I've been advised by the consultant to make sure I keep my vitamin levels up particularly vitamin D so been researching a lot on what to take to prepare my body - either for the laparoscopic surgery or natural pregnancy whichever comes first just thinking positive and preparing for that BFP!! 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼🌈❤️🙏🏼 xxx

HereIfYouNeedMe · 28/01/2021 14:38

Thanks ladies, I've been told I can drive and work still if I want to do fingers crossed I don't suffer too badly xx

HereIfYouNeedMe · 28/01/2021 15:16

@Lililou regarding your complaint, that department is there for this reason so I'm sure they will sort it for you! Im so pleased you're making your voice heard!! Bast*rds

HereIfYouNeedMe · 28/01/2021 15:16

@ThinnerByDinner how's expectant management going?

ThinnerByDinner · 28/01/2021 16:19

@HereIfYouNeedMe I went in this morning and had bloods done, just had a call from the hospital and my levels are down to 13!!! So over the moon happy with that, they have officially discharged me and just have to take a pregnancy test in 2 weeks to ensure negative. I feel like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders, I really use exercise to help manage my stress so I am looking forward to getting my trainers on and going for a run this weekend! Will be having a break from TTC to try and heal mentally and physically.
Hope your doing ok, are you going for methotrexate tonight?

HereIfYouNeedMe · 28/01/2021 16:37

@ThinnerByDinner that's amazing I'm so happy for you!! 🥳 I hope you enjoy your run and can now move forward
Yes I'm in at half 5 for it, I'm hopeful it'll work 🤞🏼 xx

Lililou · 28/01/2021 18:23

Strange period type pains seem to have gone away today and no bleeding. I have a feeling the first bleed after surgery may be on it's way though. I read up on the EP trust site about it and like @Luan82 suggested I think it's probably my lining about to shed. I know my TV scan showed quite a thick lining and I didn't bleed that much before then so I expect it will be quite a heavy bleed when it comes.

@HereIfYouNeedMe haha you're right, they were bastards. I had the call with the PET team today and they were actually really nice and straight away apologised for my experience, they wanted to check the questions I was asking and were happy with the info they were going to pass across. So it feels like a big relief. They said there are delays with dealing with complaints due to COVID so it could be early March before I hear anything, tbh though I'm ok with that. I feel like I've done the hard part of writing it all down and submitting it. It will nice to get a bit of a break from thinking about It rather than dredging it all back up again right away. Just getting an apology was nice, it was good to have someone acknowledge that what I went through was shit.

Great news @ThinnerByDinner, glad to hear they're coming down 😊

HereIfYouNeedMe · 28/01/2021 18:51

@Lililou yes definitely, just that validation of an apology is what you needed. Hopefully you can put it behind you!

HereIfYouNeedMe · 28/01/2021 18:52

Feels strange to think I can't TTC again until the spring now! How was the wait for those who had the medication? How did you count 3 months, did you do exact? So start trying again 29/04? Lol

NigellasMicrowave · 28/01/2021 19:18

@HereIfYouNeedMe rest up tonight! Eat whatever you fancy, if you can manage it. My appetite dropped in the days following but you need to keep your strength up.

I am very impatient and immediately started a countdown on my phone. It has felt good to get down to 60 days, 50, 40 and soon 30. I’m also using it as a kick up the bum to take my vitamins and stay fit in the meantime. I am doing well on one of those fronts, I’ll let you guess which :D

@ActonBell good to hear an update from you. So sorry it is still rotten but also - it is really normal, too. I’ve been having nightmares. My main self-care practice has been a long bath, listening to the radio with lots of Radox or bath salts. I got a shower radio from John Lewis which I highly recommend!

I’ve also got SpaceMasks which feel like a real treat. They aren’t cheap, but I think I’m worth it and they do help me wind down for sleep.

HereIfYouNeedMe · 28/01/2021 20:35

@NigellasMicrowave good idea! I'm going to download a count down app now 😊 xx

MrsB2019x · 28/01/2021 21:43

Great news @ThinnerByDinner! You must be so relieved ☺️

@HereIfYouNeedMe How did the injection go?

HereIfYouNeedMe · 29/01/2021 07:21

@MrsB2019x it was fine thank you hun, was in and out pretty quickly. Heading to work today and will see how I go. I sit at a desk and my boss I aware so I won't hesitate coming home if I need to. I reckon I'm in for a weekend in bed
How are you? Xx

Luan82 · 29/01/2021 07:34

Morning all! @HereIfYouNeedMe - thinking of you atm - fingers crossed you don't get too many side effects, aside from cramping I was fine - I also worked through but as it was during the early stages of the pandemic I was working from home, I would be cautious about keeping your distance from people for a few weeks though as I have heard the your immune system can be a little bit compromised after treatment xx I'm on the TWW atm DTD every few days between my LH surge and it's the first month after I've used the castor oil packs, teas and enzymes so I'm keeping my fingers crossed 🤞🏼- as if infertility issues weren't enough I've also had to do an online AMH test as the consultant suggested it as part of my ongoing fertility treatment - slightly nervous that my Mum went through early menopause and that I'll be the same, anyone had any experience with AMH or AFC ? My egg count was pretty low at 7 but for my age (38) they expected slightly lower than average ...😬 xxx

Luan82 · 29/01/2021 07:40

@HereIfYouNeedMe - I think between surgery and injection the wait is pretty much the same, it starts when your levels reach 0 and as soon as they do you can start talking folic acid again, I suggest getting a highly absorbable one that's potent - I did and had my levels tested and they were excellent following the three month wait, sounds cliche but as a lot of us are a little scared at first the three months gives us time - for the folic acid to go back up and for us to heal - TMI but it went quite fast for me as I focused on my health and other things - the worst bit for us was getting used to using condoms again, like a couple of teenagers !! 😂😂xx

Luan82 · 29/01/2021 07:43

@ThinnerByDinner - 🤗🤗🤗 that's exactly what I did!! As soon as I got the all clear I started jogging again, it's so great for clearing your head - now you can start the three month countdown! X

HereIfYouNeedMe · 29/01/2021 07:44

@Luan82 thank you for the advice lovely, I've only started working in the office again this week, been WFH before that. Only going in because I know it's safe, thank you for looking out for me though! 😊
Good luck on the TWW 🤭 I would have liked to try straight away but it is what it is now xx

ThinnerByDinner · 29/01/2021 07:50

@Luan82 I am so glad I can exercise again it is so therapeutic to me! Desperately needed it! I actually got the all clear to start trying again when we are ready (didn’t have surgery or methotrexate so don’t have to wait) but we aren’t ready and won’t be for a while, need to heal mentally first! X

HereIfYouNeedMe · 29/01/2021 08:05

I think I'm just trying to block it out and move on but it'll probably be good for me xx

Luan82 · 29/01/2021 08:07

@HereIfYouNeedMe - that's great 😁- genuinely wouldn't worry too much about the three months, I know I felt like that at first as I'd just been referred to a consultant and thought it might affect my treatment but due to the pandemic everything has slowed down anyway - it'll pass in no time, take advantage of the time and look after yourself and your body, ready for trying again!! Xx
