Tracking your cycle and possible BFP using RHR - part 5

Hi ladies,

This is for all of us with heart rate monitors who wish to help each other analyse the RHR patterns throughout our cycles.

Early research shows there's a correlation with increasing RHR and BFPs - so let's try and spot some together!

@LarasMama morning lovely! It is getting stronger and not lighter. Going to have to buy some more because I’m worrying now. Think it’s because AF is due tomorrow 😩. Thank you so much for your reply 💕💕

Kona84 · 08/01/2021 09:37

Take your HR off after a BFP it will only cause anxiety, HR changes for so many reasons.

Kona84 · 08/01/2021 09:42

Think I’m 10dpo today and AF scheduled for 4 days away.
My HR has plateaued at 71bpm which isn’t that high usual rate is around 66bpm but it never just sits this high for a few days in a row. Normally peaks then drops the next day.
Boobs still sore but mainly after 1pm through evening- they feel okay in the morning but by bed time they hurt to touch.
No cramps, feel a bit queasy but that might be anxiety.
Debating if I should buy a frer at the weekend.

SS123456 · 08/01/2021 09:52

@mumof23188 if it makes you feel any better this is my current rhr readings and I am 7 weeks today 😔

The yellow is my 'normal' pregnancy rate and the blue is when I had covid. As you can see it has dropped off a cliff since. I suspect missed miscarriage so have booked a scan for Tuesday (my covid isolation ends Monday) which I am dreading as I will be going alone 😩

@SS123456 wishing you the best I hope everything is okay.
Hopefully it’s just covid affecting your HR- I’ve heard it can affect heart health for a little bit afterwards. Hope this is the case

SS123456 · 08/01/2021 10:51

@Kona84 thank you, I really hope so! I miscarried in October so really don't want to go through it all over again

LarasMama · 08/01/2021 12:31

@SS123456 I really hope it was only due to covid that uour RHR dropped. Has it picked up at all? Do you stikk have symptoms?!🙏🏻

LarasMama · 08/01/2021 12:36

@mumof23188 sounds perfect if the line is getting darker. I think because you implanted early chances of miscarriage are lower unless there's a genetic problem with baby bean. But I totally hear you. With dd I was testing for 3 weeks until my doctor checked my levels and confirmed that they are doubling and tripling. Can you book an appointment soon to have your levels checked? 🙏🏻❤️

SS123456 · 08/01/2021 12:49

@LarasMama no it is still dropping each day unfortunately, there have been no fluctuations with it at all. I still feel very much pregnant (nausea, sore boobs etc) but I am on progesterone pessaries so I think I would likely continue to feel those symptoms due to that 🤷🏻‍♀️

LarasMama · 08/01/2021 13:30

@SS123456 Have you taken another pregnancy test? But I think it’s probably best at this point to wait for the scan. I hope everything is fine with little bean. 🙏🏻

itssquidstella · 08/01/2021 13:38

Has anyone ever had a BFP (and subsequent successful pregnancy) without a rise in heart rate? I think I've just got a v faint bfp but my RHR is only 64!

SS123456 · 08/01/2021 13:50

@LarasMama I did these two this morning which I think look ok for 7 weeks 🤷🏻‍♀️. It's an emotional rollercoaster!

either AF is on its way or i just had a some implantation bleeding. the smallest amount of pinkish brown discharge (sorry if too much info)
my boobs still hurt. eurgh hate this game.

Kona84 · 08/01/2021 14:17

@itssquidstella you've had a good rise from the 58- 64bpm.

itssquidstella · 08/01/2021 14:28

@Kona84 I hope so. I had a MMC in may and my heart rate showed a similar pattern, never getting above 65, so I'm a bit anxious.

Juno231 · 08/01/2021 15:20

@itssquidstella you've had a rise from your base though! Looks good to me.

@SS123456 those do look good! It's hard to say if they're strong enough at 7 weeks though cause the hook effect will have begun I think? E.g. at 5-6 weeks I'd expect those to be a dye stealer but now that you're at 7 weeks they start getting diluted. At the very least don't panic if they get lighter as your week progresses, as that might just be the hook effect in full force!

SS123456 · 08/01/2021 15:23

@Juno231 funny you say about the hook affect! For that reason I did a non diluted test and a diluted test (attached) this afternoon on ICs. The diluted one was a bit stronger than the non-diluted

@SS123456 I made a huge mistake of testing yesterday and I got a really faint line on my Femometer ICs and panicked then I tried the hook effect with 1 part wee and 2 parts water and my line was slightly darker! My rhr has dropped loads this past week and I've panicked so bad but I've literally been sat on my bum all week so don't know whether I should be worrying or not. Il attach my tests and my rhr. I'm not sure anyone else can notice its slightly darker 😬

I had a look at my HR chart from December 2019 when I was pregnant as I wanted to look for any comparison.
I got a BFP on the 31st December but AF was A few days late and I hadn’t realised because of the Christmas period.
From the 26th to the 28th my Hr stuck at 71bpm then started to rise.
I am currently on day 3 of a 71bpm plateau - fingers crossed for a rise tomorrow

LarasMama · 08/01/2021 20:35

Can you lovely ladies please explain why we would dilute our pee? I don’t understand 🤷🏻‍♀️

LarasMama · 08/01/2021 20:37

@lucyrp Can you remind us how many dpo or how far along you are? What was your RHR at ovulation. 58 does seem a bit low but could pick up again tomorrow 🙏🏻

SS123456 · 08/01/2021 20:42

@lucyrp that is definitely darker but give a 1 part urine to 4 parts water dilution a go and see what that gives you. This was mine this evening

lucyrp · 08/01/2021 20:48

@LarasMama because when you get so far along in your pregnancy your wee gets so heavily concentrated with HCG the test panics and can give a false negative so you have to dilute it down with water so the test has more chance to read it. I'm 8 weeks tomorrow, my rhr was only 63bpm at ovulation 😬

lucyrp · 08/01/2021 20:58

@SS123456 this is normal urine and then 1 part urine and 4 parts water

LarasMama · 08/01/2021 22:51

@lucyrp So the stronger test is the diluted one? That’s so interesting! Thanks for explaining
