Tracking your cycle and possible BFP using RHR - part 5

Hi ladies,

This is for all of us with heart rate monitors who wish to help each other analyse the RHR patterns throughout our cycles.

Early research shows there's a correlation with increasing RHR and BFPs - so let's try and spot some together!

@gezelligheid any luck?

justwant2beamum · 16/05/2021 20:23

@NJOBX thank you! Yeah I don't think I usually have a rhr dip for ovulation looking back at previous. And I think I felt ov pains on the fri. So not sure. My rhr does always increase in second half of my cycle, but last month it only went up to 70. The only other time I had a steep rise like this was jan with bfp. But I just don't think I am this month. Really hope I am though. I've only ever been as high as 75 when pregnant. I've attached my jan chart which I think is similar. But then last month I had an increase after ov, it sat up at 70 for a bit then dropped back down for AF. So I just keep thinking this rise and 75bpm must just be stress which is why it's higher than normal

@justwant2beamum So it could be either of those days then which is frustrating. Do you usually get Ov pains? I was only tracking with RHR but then started looking at my BBT in April which is the month I got a BFP, have you considered BBT? I wouldn’t have had a clue when I ovulated that month without the help from BBT and the BBT app I was using which estimated my ov and I realised the day the app said I ovulated was the day when I also got the most EWCM.

Yeah your Jan chart does look very similar actually. How many DPO did you get your BFP in January?

Also, I know this is a strange question but do you exercise? As I found that on the days / weeks i didn’t exercise, my RHR was higher weirdly enough. But I do think that stress can increase it too. You never know though because I’m sure you’ve probably been stressed previously and it might not have shown to have gone this high! So I have my fingers crossed for you, keep us informed with how you get on. One thing I will say is don’t try to symptom spot because that caused me a lot of anxiety as well which won’t help your RHR. I have everything crossed for you for this month lovely 🤞🏼Smile x

justwant2beamum · 17/05/2021 06:17

Well rhr plummeted today so guessing that's me out now. I really thought this could be it after seeing that huge rise and all the way up to 75bpm 😭

lucyrp · 17/05/2021 06:42

@justwant2beamum when did you ovulate ? How many dpo are you now ?

Hi everyone sorry haven't had a chance to catch up but I don't seem to get notifications for this thread anymore which is annoying and it doesn't come up on my "I'm on" tab either

How is everyone ??
@mumof23188 how are you keeping ?

justwant2beamum · 17/05/2021 06:47

@lucyrp 9dpo x

lucyrp · 17/05/2021 06:51

@justwant2beamum it could very well be an implantation dip at 9dpo so don't give up hope. I had a rhr dip at 7dpo when I got my BFP x

NJOBX · 17/05/2021 17:39

@justwant2beamum Don’t give up! That’s not plummeted yet, it’s just a dip which is perfectly normal. I have attached my April chart when I got BFP and look at all the dips on mine! Dips aren’t always a negative thing lovely so don’t give up hope just yet x

justwant2beamum · 18/05/2021 19:11

@NJOBX thanks back up to 74 again today but bfn. I had basically accepted I was out this cycle as only DTD twice just after static smiley on CB because my partner was away. Last month symptom spotted so much but said to myself I wouldn't even let myself get my hopes up unless I saw a huge rhr rise. So obviously just my body playing cruel tricks. Don't know why my rhr has gone up so much. Must be stress I suppose

NJOBX · 18/05/2021 20:02

@justwant2beamum
Are you 10 DPO today or around that? Not everyone gets a BFP that early on, for some it’s not until 14DPO. Like everyone says ‘you’re not out until AF arrives’. It’s frustrating that your RHR is that high up in a way isn’t it, our bodies are terrible at playing with our minds 😔
If stress is a factor of your high RHR, stress can also prevent BFP as well, so if AF does arrive, try and stay as calm as you can through that cycle and try not to look in to everything too much- so much easier said than done I know, but the calmer you are, the more chance there is. I honestly have my fingers tightly crossed for you, keep us updated on how you’re getting on and I really hope AF doesn’t arrive for you 🤞🏼

I’m worried this thread is about to reach its max but I have tried to create a new one a few times before and my account doesn’t let me x

justwant2beamum · 18/05/2021 21:05

@NJOBX thanks, it's work related stress and also fact I'm working crazy hours, was leaving a job and starting a new one this week snd I have a stressful job anyway so it's not likely to improve. Then worrying that I'm stressed and it's affecting TTC just upsets me even more. Just a bit pissed off snd fed up atm. Pissed off st my body for losing the first baby, pissed off at my work for making it harder for me, pissed off at my body for the increased rhr snd allowing me to hope. Sorry just having a bit of a moan. Just feel like it'll never happen x

NJOBX · 18/05/2021 21:18

@justwant2beamum
Moan to me as much as you need, that’s what this forum is here for and you can get it off your chest, we all need to do it sometimes.
TTC is the most stressful thing us women go through and it seems like it will just never happen and we are let down over and over again, but eventually it will happen and although it didn’t end well the last time, at least you know you are able to conceive so take that as hope that it will happen again. If you’ve always been in a stressful job and you have conceived before, it will happen again and your body might still be getting used to everything again with your hormones etc after last time. Our bodies work in strange ways and they do make things hard for us but eventually it will work out. Also remember AF isn’t here yet so there is still hope for this month. I know you said you didn’t DTD as much with your partner being away so if not this month, then go all out with it next month. It will happen lovely but I completely understand how you feel, it’s difficult keeping on getting knocked back but when it happens it will all be worth it x

NJOBX · 19/05/2021 09:18

Hi @Kona84
Can I bug you for your opinion please? My RHR has drastically dropped and I remember you saying yours dropped around 15DPO, I am now 25DPO (week 6) and I am just starting to worry because of how much my RHR has dropped. My BBT has stayed up though and I have attached that as well... do you think I should be worried? X

@NJOBX hey just wanted to say we've had loads of ladies on her freak out around week 6-7 because their RHR started plummeting but it seems quite standard and nothing to worry about!

@ls2020 I'm so pleased your hycosy went well! I wonder how accurately they can tell when you ovulated if it's in the past? I hope the tube flush will help you conceive before you get to the IVF stage. I had my laparoscopy 3 weeks ago and although they found some endometriosis on my left ovary it didn't explain why I haven't caught yet. Currently 1DPO on cycle 18 - plodding along until I'm allowed to apply for NHS IVF funding.

@Juno231
Thank you so much Juno! You have put my mind at ease!

How long do they make you wait until you can have NHS IVF funding? I hope you catch on soon before it gets to that 🤞🏼

Juno231 · 19/05/2021 11:13

@NJOBX 2 years but they have me down as reaching 2 years in July (when I'll be on cycle 20) and I'm certainly not going to correct them! Takes ages anyway, you have to apply for funding, then go on a waiting list so I imagine nothing will happen until the end of the year at the earliest anyway.

Kona84 · 19/05/2021 11:22

Yes my heart rate dipped and the ladies here will remember my messages of worry.
I know it’s hard but try not to worry about it.
Mine still goes up and down and hasn’t peaked beyond 78bpm yet.

NJOBX · 19/05/2021 11:23

@Juno231 Oh no, definitely don’t correct them! The earlier the better for you ☺️
Oh it is so long winded isn’t it, I really hope the waiting list isn’t too long for you. But if it doesn’t happen in the mean time, at least you don’t have too much longer to get on the waiting list and you’ve kind of got a bit of a head start if you’re still under 24 months cycle 🤞🏼X

NJOBX · 19/05/2021 14:51

Sorry @Kona84 Didn’t see your message, we must have put them on at similar times!

That’s good to know, you’ve definitely made me feel less worried, I was really stressing this morning as I thought it might go back up today but it’s reassuring that it should be all okay. So easy to stress about it isn’t it 🙈x

GlassLily · 20/05/2021 04:31

Has anyone got a RHR chart from when they were ill with a cold/flu? Mine is at an all time high but I'm under the weather.... But also 5DPO so hoping it's a good sign 😬

justwant2beamum · 20/05/2021 08:44

Good luck @Juno231 hope you catch before that but good to get a head start on the list.
@GlassLily when I'm ill my rhr goes right up. So could be either. I've also heard of people feeling shitty/Ill before BFP so good luck.

My rhr dropped again and bfn this morning. I think 12dpo I go AF last month so expecting that soon. So upset at how much my rhr fucked me over this month and got my hopes up. Going to try not look at it next month. Good luck everyone.

NJOBX · 20/05/2021 09:05

@GlassLily
My chart doesn’t really show anything to suggest a cold but just after my BFP I got a really runny and stuffy nose! I got my BFP 9DPO. I have heard people have become run down as an early sign as well so good luck ☺️

Good luck to you both as well @Juno231 and @justwant2beamum x

Kona84 · 21/05/2021 00:03

I’ve had nasal congestion since conception, well maybe not the exact day but right from early days and it’s not gone away for me.
Good luck @gezelligheid

GlassLily · 21/05/2021 08:10

Thanks team! Testing next week so fx. But I do think it was a full-blown cold and not just run-down! So maybe just RHR trolling away again 🙄

Is anyone continuing this thread? Page 40 must be near the end right? I don't know how to tell where the end is, or how to make a new one!
