Tracking your cycle and possible BFP using RHR - part 5

Hi ladies,

This is for all of us with heart rate monitors who wish to help each other analyse the RHR patterns throughout our cycles.

Early research shows there's a correlation with increasing RHR and BFPs - so let's try and spot some together!

Meant to say I could also only be 1dpo. Will wait to see what temps do and what FF says. Either way, hopefully covered!

Juno231 · 05/01/2021 13:51

@Moominmiss lovely chart! looks 2DPO to me - I'm 1DPO so we can be in the torturous wait together Grin. Well done on all the BD, it would kill my OH I think!!

Moominmiss · 05/01/2021 14:03

Yes @Juno231 we can definitely do this tww together. Would be lovely if we could get our bfp’s on the first month into 2021 🤞🏻

I’m hoping it’s 2dpo. If I was only 1dpo I’d feel compelled to dtd again tonight but I truly cannot be bothered 😂 I also think my oh would struggle. I think last night was a stretch 😂

Juno231 · 05/01/2021 14:23

@moominmiss haha well if it helps your 1DPO temp is higher than the previous 6 so I'm very certain FF will give you a crosshair on CD14! And yes let this finally be our month! I'm well and truly over this TTC malarkey. Two weeks away from BFP or cycle 14....

OP posts:
Moominmiss · 05/01/2021 14:33

@Juno231 thank you. Oh yes! I hadn’t clocked that with my temps. Thank goodness. I really will be glad to just go to bed tonight and go straight to sleep 😂

Oh tell me about it, I’m so so fed up now. Cycle 16 and counting. I want so much to just be able to say ‘sod it’ and give up and have occasional sex and get on with my life. But I know me, I know even if I don’t do opk’s or temp, or check my rhr, I still wouldn’t be able to ignore my body’s little signs and clues. So I feel like I’m stuck in this ttc hell until I’m officially too old and menopause starts, or I finally get a bfp that sticks 😂

You have your appointment coming up soon don’t you? Do you know what they’ll be doing at the appointment?

Juno231 · 05/01/2021 14:38

@Moominmiss I'm the same - I keep toying with just skipping the BBT/OPK stuff but I know I'll stress myself out second guessing everything else instead lol. Yes I'm supposed to have my appointment on Feb 3rd (although with lockdown who knows?). From what I gather the first appointment is going through our TTC habits, medical and lifestyle history and then setting up the next tests. Which usually are redoing SA, Day 3 and Day 21 tests (+ potentially more?) and arranging for a hycosy. Although I believe they make you have a chlamydia test before the hycosy so there's that extra step to set up with my GP as well. Remind me if you've started your investigations yet/what stage they're at?

OP posts:
Moominmiss · 05/01/2021 15:12

Oh I do hope your appointment is still able to go ahead as planned. It’s bad enough waiting for these things as it is, without covid delaying everything.
So is your appointment with a GP, or have you had your initial GP appointment and is this one with a fertility clinic?
I’ve heard positive things about having a hycosy and having good rates of pregnancy following the procedure so 🤞🏻 They will give you that (if you haven’t had a bfp before then)!

So after my 3rd loss back in June I spoke to my gp who referred me to a fertility consultant that we saw in August. She did day 3 and day 21 blood tests which were all ok. She did a chlamydia test at the same time.
She did a scan to check my antral follicle count, and my oh had a semen analysis done.
All results were ‘normal’.
Because I have children from a previous relationship, that’s all we were entitled to on the nhs so were told unless we wanted to fund any further private investigations that, that was it.

She said I could have an AMH blood test at a small cost but that would only really prove useful if we planned on doing IVF, so we didn’t bother.

But I’ve read so much about NK cells and different tests that can be done in regard to finding a reason for recurrent miscarriage, I’d love to get more tests done, but privately these tests would cost us more than we can afford so we’ve reached the end of the road really testing wise, which is sad as I could just carry on getting bfp’s and carry on losing them, and never really know if it was bad eggs, or something that could have been helped.

When I got my latest bfp back at the start of November I tried to contact the fertility clinic to ask if I should go on aspirin or do anything else but sadly I didn’t hear back and then miscarried a week later.

mumof23188 · 05/01/2021 16:37

@GlassLily thank you so much 💕. It did cross my mind but I got a 2-3 on the digital and that means 4-5 weeks so it’s about right for this cycle? It’s all confusing isn’t it. How are you? I find that every GP surgery says different things about TSH. I don’t see the harm in prescribing it to see if it brings it down! Surely they should be open to trying!! So frustrating!

@SS123456 glad it helped a bit. Hopefully everything will be ok. Fingers crossed your sons test comes back negative 🤞. Being poorly really does make your HR go crazy!

@Juno231 yay!!!! TWW for you! Nice to see the rise on your charts ☺️.

@Moominmiss thank you so much 💕. Amazing to hear that it brought your ovulation forward. Crossing everything for you all 🤞🤞🤞

Hi guys, I’ve not posted in a while because I’ve been off the TTC journey due to my partners mental health and impact of meds on libido.
I won’t go into all the details.

Anyway over xmas he ran out of his meds due to poor planning and had to go a couple of days without and well let’s just say the moment arose.

I didn’t think anything of it and hadn’t checked my Ovia app in ages but the next day I felt ovulation cramps day 14.
(Because I’ve been off folic acid my cycles seem to have gone back to 28 days rather than 30-31days) So I went on my app and sure enough I was in my fertile period.
So I obv thought oh- maybe we are gonna be lucky with this one time this month. After all it only takes the once.
Anyway I ovulated on the 28th dtd on the 27th so 8dpo and cycle day 23 at the moment.
I’ve been watching my HR and it was a little higher on over ovulation from 68-69bpm then dropped to 67 again and then climbed to 69 and it sat there for a few days.
Today its jumped to 71bpm.
So obviously I am now gonna be waiting for late period. App says due in 5 days.

Symptoms not sure if just because I’m thinking about it now but my boobs are a bit sore, I am pretty tired and my appetite is high but slight queasy feeling. But all could be in my head.
I have circled ovulation on the graph

As a side note this time last year I was pregnant with a BFP on New Year’s Eve but miscarriage at 8 weeks.
Sorry for long post

Oh and frequent peeing. It’s only 1pm and already about 5 trips to loo.

Juno231 · 07/01/2021 11:00

@Kona84 that all sounds super promising - any updates?

@mumof23188 are you late for AF now? Still got a sticky bean?

@Moominmiss that all sounds terrible, I'm so sorry. Did you follow up with the fertility clinic about aspirin in case you get another BFP soon? I saw that a DNA fragmentation test costs like £400 so yeah it's pretty pricey.

3DPO here and RHR is steadily going up every day :)

@Juno231 That’s looking good already! 🥰

@mumof23188 How are you? Hope all is well! 🥰🙏🏻

I’m cd6 and AF is over as of today. Will startt testing with opks today. Also been looking into ubiquinol. Really curious if that would work.

mumof23188 · 07/01/2021 12:18

@Juno231 hi lovely ☺️. Nope AF apparently due on Saturday. I’m 16dpo today! Beans still sticking. Had a dye stealer yesterday on a FRER so fingers crossed it’s all good! Testing daily with cheapies too 😱. Still temping until Saturday aswell!

Ah fab chart. Lovely rise going on ☺️. It’s nice to see!

@LarasMama I’m good thank you lovely. Just feeling super anxious. How are you? Glad AF is over for you. I’ll have a read about ubiquinol, I not heard of that!

@Kona84 sounds promising. Good luck!

Kona84 · 07/01/2021 12:26

@Juno231
Just sore boobs, tiredness and starting with a cold. Which could be reason for increase in HR but I recall having a cold before last BFP as it was same time of year.

I’m not buying any tests until AF late as I feel I’m clutching at straws and just raising my hopes.

Juno231 · 07/01/2021 13:21

@larasmama it's supposed to be good at improving egg quality but god knows! I've just finished doing 6 months of taking it and won't be getting any more as it's quite pricey and I have no clue if it's working. It's supposed to take 3 months to show an improvement as that's how long it takes for eggs to mature so just bear that in mind.

@Kona84 haha that's exactly why I do test before AF, otherwise I get my hopes up and find the crash even harder when it shows. Testing early lets me down easily so to speak.

@mumof23188 pfft that AF prediction sounds a bit off. Super happy for your dye stealer though! Sounds like a healthy bean so far Grin

OP posts:
mumof23188 · 07/01/2021 13:35

@Juno231 it does doesn’t it! Would be a 17 day LP with AF arriving on the day of being 18dpo! FF has predicted it based on my last cycles. I think I will feel better when Saturday has been and gone. Yes and my cheapies are also really strong, as dark as the control line. So hopefully it’s a healthy bean ☺️.

How are you feeling? So hoping this is your month!! I agree with you about the testing before AF shows. Somehow easier to see a BFN than blood!

How’s everyone doing with the lockdown? I’m hating being in the house so much! DD is currently on a zoom with her teacher and class mates 😆. Much better than last time as Atleast this time they are teaching them via zoom which is fab!

Moominmiss · 07/01/2021 14:31

@Juno231 it’s been horrible, but I feel like I’m developing a real barrier now. My last loss almost didn’t really feel real. I think I’ve stopped allowing myself to get emotionally invested anymore.

So I’ve still not been able to reach anyone at the fertility clinic! I text the midwife I was given before my first loss, I explained my situation and asked if she had any advice, she said how sorry she was but said she didn’t really know was her honest answer.

So based on the fact I have nothing to lose, and nothing else has worked, I’ve started myself on a low dose of aspirin this cycle. I started on 1dpo and will carry on if I get a bfp until I see someone.

Your rhr is looking great! 🤞🏻 2021 really is the year!!

I’m 4dpo today and rhr has risen slightly, nothing major yet though.

Attached my charts too.

@Moominmiss I think that's a good idea with the baby aspirin! I can't see it doing any harm and if it helps then amazing. I forgot to answer your question before btw - my next appointment is at a fertility clinic, not GP. I've done all the GP stuff already.

@mumof23188 I'm so bored of lockdown and I can't work productively for shizzle at home! I've done bugger all this week...

OP posts:
mumof23188 · 07/01/2021 16:24

@Juno231 it’s just so dull isn’t it. Just hope life for everyone improves in the next few months. Can imagine working from home must be super hard to get the motivation!

kaffy197 · 07/01/2021 18:50

Hi all, I've been following for a while but can't remember if I've actually posted!
I was feeling quite hopeful this month after lots of action over Christmas but my heart rate is falling off a cliff at 9dpo 😂
This is the first month I've paid much attention to it so I don't have comparisons but not too optimistic!

Hi @kaffy197 Compared to others it doesn’t look promising, but this isn’t scientific 100% proven theory you are never out until AF turns up.
Good luck and I wish you the best

mumof23188 · 08/01/2021 08:17

@Juno231 @LarasMama would you be worried if you were me? 17dpo and FF says AF due tomorrow. HR has dropped 😭 but my tests are strong?! Help!!

@mumof23188 Good morning dear! I wouldn’t be worried if the line is as strong as yesterday or getting stronger. A few drops can be normal I think. Please stay positive. 🙏🏻❤️
