Tracking your cycle and possible BFP using RHR - part 5

Hi ladies,

This is for all of us with heart rate monitors who wish to help each other analyse the RHR patterns throughout our cycles.

Early research shows there's a correlation with increasing RHR and BFPs - so let's try and spot some together!

@mumof23188 That is really strong for your dpo. You must have implanted early. How many dpo are you? Can you post your RHR again? Oh, so exciting! 🥰

Juno231 · 03/01/2021 20:22

@mumof23188 aaaaah I told you not to trust the temps and go by rhr!!! So happy for you 😁. Brilliant line as well, strongest one yet! Please show us your updated chart!

Still had no peak and I did one better than 63 and reached 62bpm today!

@GlassLily I had 3.1 and got fobbed off by the gp about it, where she essentially admitted that the fertility clinic will most likely do something about it but she won't refer me to an endocrinologist. Another lady on the post pill thread had the exact same gp response. Kinda baffling considering we could potentially be skipping the whole need for fertility clinic crap if this was sorted. From what I gather it can really affect fertility if above 2.5...

@LarasMama I’m 12dpo today. Yeah wonder when i implanted?! Thank you. I’m just hoping it sticks 🤞🤞.

@Juno231 ahhh thank you! I’m in shock still. Was not expecting that positive. You were so right! Shall I stop temping now?

Damn, boo to no peak yet!! Hope it comes soon for you. Hahah yay!! Nice and low for you! Nice starting block.

Here’s my charts. I’ve had to try and crop them together. It’s nothing fantastic 🤷‍♀️ The yellow dot is first day of my very strange light AF and then the purple dot is ovulation. Added in my ff chart too. Just want to say a massive thank you to you ladies for all your support and advice ❤️. I’m not going anywhere and I will be here to support you all 🥰

@GlassLily Sorry, only catching up now. So I am hypothyroid but on l-thyroxine (125). My TSH used to be around 5 and is around 0.7.
Ideally TSH levels needs to be below 2.5 and if you are on medication your TSH should be around 1.
Thyroid health is important regardless of ttc. And especially when trying to conceive it should really be the first thing to be treated right at the beginning not after months of ttc...I would really push to be put on a small dose (25) to begin with. Explain all of your symptoms and that you would like to try how you feel after taking it. I just don't understand why GPs refuse to treat their patients.

@Juno231 Can it happen that you the OPKs show that you're about to have your surge and then it stops but returns later with a real surge? I hope it happens soon for you!

@mumof23188 Your chart is so interesting. I also wonder when you may have implanted. It must have been at least 3-4 days ago for your line to be this strong! I also find it interesting that your RHR went up by 2 bpm since ovulation. We keep expecting this crazy rise in RHR, maybe it really doesn't happen every time and for every woman. Maybe I can relax then and remain hopeful even when there's no crazy rise straight away. :)
I hope your little one is a sticky lil' bean, but I have a feeling it is. With such a strong line, lil' bean is quite determined. Or could it even be twins?

mumof23188 · 04/01/2021 07:50

@LarasMama yes it is isn’t it. It’s not the norm that we see on here and because of the chart I didn’t think I was in for a chance. I just wanted to know so got the tests when I went to do the food shop! Yes I think you should from now on because you never know ☺️. Mine seems to of started rising after implantation. Thank you so much. I’m praying 🙏🏼 I think OH would pass out if it was twins 🤣🤣. HR went up again today. I’ve marked where I was 9dpo and I had those strange pains, wondering if that was implantation! It kind of fits in with everything? Hope you are doing ok? Thank you for your support 💕.

Just seen this new thread and so happy for you @mumof23188! That’s a lovely strong line, yay! Will you get due sometime in September all being well?

I’m doing ok, I’m 6 weeks now I think, feeling more nauseous especially in evenings, BUT my rhr has started dropping which isn’t great.

Good luck to the rest of you!

mumof23188 · 04/01/2021 12:31

@MissBPotter ahh glad you found us ☺️. Thank you so much. I can’t believe it!! Yes all being well I will be due 14th September. How about you?

Glad you are ok! What’s your HR at now? Don’t worry about HR. It changes so much in pregnancy. Mine did with my last baby!

mumof23188 · 04/01/2021 12:41

Just got confirmation on digital! Pregnant 2-3!

LarasMama · 04/01/2021 13:52

@mumof23188 Must have been implantation then! So exciting! Do you have any symptoms? Are you taking the baby aspirin? If not maybe try progesterone. It worked for me.
I think most people have a rise right after ovulation due to progesterone rising. We keep talking about twins, it may just really happen to one of us. 😂
I still wonder about your last cycle. Was it a cp? Why was the period so light? I guess we will never find out for sure. 🤷🏻‍♀️
I'm cd3 today, RHR has decreased a bit but still higher than the last cycles.

Juno231 · 04/01/2021 14:05

@mumof23188 Ah I love it when you get a confirmation with a digital! So exciting! Great due date too :)

So I was whinging this morning about still having no peak on my OPKs and then 2 hours later when I did my second test of the day it was a blazing dye stealer! I reckon I'll ovulate today so I need to jump on OH tonight and hopefully that should be enough (pending a rise in temp tomorrow morning). That'll be BD session #5 since last Monday so OH is knackered lol.

@MissBPotter you know not to read into the RHR! We had so many ladies on here around the 6-7 week mark asking about the drop and remember it's normal. Glad you found us, stick around and let us know how you get on please :)

OP posts:
mumof23188 · 04/01/2021 17:05

@LarasMama crazy! I was expecting a 1-2 on the digital?! Not many really, just tired and boobs feel bigger and I’m mega bloated. I didn’t take baby aspirin this cycle, I read so much on it and freaked myself out. Where would I get that from? I’ll have a read online. I’m just taking folic acid and vitamin D. Oh my gosh!! Imagine 🤣🤣. Hopefully it will be you with the twins 😉. I agree with that too, it raises your bbt so surely works the same with RHR? I always think about it too, I’ve never experienced anything like it before. Never had a period like that. Very strange.

You didn’t have any spotting before AF this time did you? Yes can see it’s a few beats higher than previous cycles. Hope AF isn’t to bad for you. I feel awful sharing my news with you all. I truly hope you all get your BFP soon 💗

@Juno231 thank you! I feel a bit in denial but I think that’s normal. I will be glad when AF due date has been and gone.

Wahooo!!!! That’s amazing!! Yessss to peak 🎉🎉. Hopefully your TWW starts tomorrow 😁. God I am rooting for you. You so deserve this. You are so helpful to everyone on here. Hahah poor OH 😉, glad he’s been giving you the goods.

Juno231 · 04/01/2021 18:55

@mumof23188 omg I hadn't even registered that it said 2-3 weeks instead of 1-2! Although I suppose you're 13DPO today so just on the cusp to 2 weeks?

I want this to be my cycle as well - especially as I have my fertility appointment in a month. I wouldn't say no to a Sep due date either :)

OP posts:
mumof23188 · 04/01/2021 19:30

@Juno231 yeah I was full on expecting a 1-2! Couldn’t believe it. I’m hoping this means it’s a strong little bean and it’s going to stay put 🤞🙏🏼

Ahh wow! I’m hoping this is it for you. Come on 🤞🤞 crossing everything!!

LarasMama · 04/01/2021 22:53

@mumof23188 Progesterone is prescribed to women who’ve had a history or low progesterone and recurring miscarriages. I think it can really help. Certainly helped me. 🙏🏻 My gynecologist prescribed it to me early on, not sure if you can get it without a prescription.

Oh dear, don’t worry! I’m so happy you got your bfp. 🥰
As I haven’t been that actively ttc I’m not stressed yet. I did however make an appointment today for a follow up with my gynecologist in case I don’t get pregnant by March. It will be 6 months off ttc then (including the cycles where we only dtd once in the fw).
I had no spotting 🙏🏻, only brownish cm when I checked and once when I wiped. That’s an improvement, right? 😃

@Juno231 Oh, that’s fab news! Crossing my fingers! Wait, that would be a lil libra bean as well? So lovely 🥰

Alicespring · 04/01/2021 23:20

@mumof23188

Congratulations!

I'm still lurking on this thread, it's my safe place 😂

SS123456 · 05/01/2021 07:07

Finally got my covid results after a 6 day wait, positive as expected. I have such a bad feeling about the pregnancy but I think my body will just carry on being 'pregnant' because of the progesterone I'm on. A resting heart rate drop of nearly 20bpm over 5 days kind of tells me what's happened. I was exposed to covid on the 25th Dec, by the 29th Dec my heart rate spiked, and it has plummeted ever since. I'm feeling so gutted and angry that someone else did this to me and my baby 😔

mumof23188 · 05/01/2021 07:53

@LarasMama Fantastic that it helped you ☺️. My doctors surgery are pretty unhelpful, they tend to try and palm you off.

Ah thank you! That’s fab you have an appointment booked in. Hopefully it happens soon for you. Yes a massive improvement 🎉. That’s really good!

@Alicespring thank you 😊 hope you are doing well!

HR has dropped by one already 😱 I know it doesn’t mean much but you can’t help but worry a little bit. What will be will be though! I’ve continued doing my bbt but I will stop once I’ve passed AF due date.

LarasMama · 05/01/2021 08:03

@SS123456 Can you book an appointment for a scan? I’m so sorry, I hope that it’s just covid and baby is well 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

SS123456 · 05/01/2021 08:14

@LarasMama I was meant to have one this week but I can't go with a positive covid test unfortunately 😔

mumof23188 · 05/01/2021 08:40

@SS123456 ahh I’m so sorry to hear it came back positive 😩 how long do you have to isolate? I just wanted to share this with you. When I was pregnant with my DS I had a really bad chest infection and had to have antibiotics. My HR went crazy but it did drop by 20bpm aswell. Hope everything with baby is ok! It’s going to be a worry until you can get a scan 😩

SS123456 · 05/01/2021 09:30

Thank you so much @mumof23188 , that is really helpful to know. I'm really hoping it's covid related but I feel quite crampy this morning so I'm getting a bit worried. As long as my sons test comes back negative we finish isolation on Monday but I have a feeling he'll be positive too

GlassLily · 05/01/2021 11:37

@mumof23188 congratulations!! So happy for you. Could the weird light period have been implantation and you're actually on a totally different timeframe??

@LarasMama yes I've read up on that. Lots of conflicting information online. I feel like I can't do anything about it, I raised it with the GP and she just said anything less than 4 is fine. I don't know what to do except look for ways to lower it naturally which seems to be pretty difficult (I already eat all the right foods etc.... which is probably why it's 3.9 and not 4.0, maybe if I wasn't such a healthy eater I could get some levothyroxine!!)

@SS123456 I'm so sorry, what a horrible situation. I hope you can get a scan soon, can't you go to A&E if you are pregnant and having severe cramps? Maybe they can see you in a separate room or ward for Covid positive people if you wear PPE? Fingers crossed for you and baby ❤️

Juno231 · 05/01/2021 11:52

@GlassLily a lot of people swear by going gluten free for TSH but I'm too lazy for that I think. I am eating brazil nuts daily for the selenium though and taking an iodine supplement just in case.

@SS123456 jeepers great timing 'rona! Don't read into the RHR though, I agree with mumof23188 that it'll be nothing like that!

Well I definitely ovulated yesterday! RHR has jumped up 3 today to 65bpm and my temp jumped up massively. Shame I couldn't convince OH to BD though lol.

Chart attached. I'm glad I got my RHR down to a nice baseline - made my ovulation easy to spot this time!

Massive massive congrats @mumof23188 that is one amazing bfp!! Wishing you a perfect 8 months!!

So I’m currently cd16 and 2dpo. Nothing to report obviously this early on.
Soy obviously worked amazingly to bring my ovulation earlier than day 22!

I’m taking a low dose of aspirin this time just incase anything happens.

We’ve bd’d loads, like the last 8 days in a row so there’s no more we could have done on that front!

Just the torturous tww to get through now 🙄
