Hey all Not been a round much lately - I've taken a step back from conception threads at the moment. Trying to get my head round things, we are now looking into adoption, partner doesn't want to commit to ivf but our referral to the sub fertility clinic has been sent off.

Am currently cd7 so have started opks but don't think I'm going to be buying anymore once this box is done 😢

notyetamumbuttrying · 26/09/2020 21:22

Aww @claireb7rg sorry to hear hun. Great that you're looking at other venues now though. I guess you're happy to go ahead with the adoption option?

Thanks @notyetamumbuttrying 😊😊 let's hope we're all getting our bfps soon 🤞🤞🤞

notyetamumbuttrying · 26/09/2020 21:35

@Annny27 wouldn't that be nice! I'm no longer hopeful after Dh's abysmal SA results, but we were told there's still a chance so suppose I need to keep positive etc. He's changed his lifestyle now so we'll get a repeat one in Nov and see if it's improved...x

Not really sure still.... 😔 do much to get head around
notyetamumbuttrying · 26/09/2020 22:44

@claireb7rg yeah I bet! What's Dh's reason for not wanting ivf?

OP posts:
Anitaatje33 · 27/09/2020 07:15

@notyetamumbuttrying thanks for starting the new thread! Lets all hope october will bring something good!

@claireb7rg I've stopped using opks 3 months ago, and for me the best decision I ever made. I didn't realise how much stress they were causing me, not giving me positives when I had all the other ovulation signs etc

claireb7rg · 27/09/2020 08:04
@claireb7rg yeah I bet! What's Dh's reason for not wanting ivf?
It's not natural, he says it obviously wasn't meant to be... 😢

notyetamumbuttrying · 27/09/2020 08:28

@Anitaatje33 here's hoping 🤞🏾 although I'm not confident about myself due to Dh's crap sperm 😂 but rooting for the rest of you!
@claireb7rg what a shame! Can you at least talk him into a consultation with a clinic? Just so he can understand more. There's loads of podcasts and books on it too. I feel like once he truly understands it, he'll see differently. I feel for you if that's the route you want to take and he won't.

@notyetamumbuttrying thanks for new thread 😊
I also am taking a more relaxed approach and trying to stay off here abit at the minute will still dip in and out though to see how everyone is doing.
@claireb7rg sorry to hear that! Maybe things will be a bit clearer at your apt and he may well change his mind

Jilly1988 · 27/09/2020 11:22

Thanks for the new thread @notyetamumbuttrying

I think I am 4dpo but this cycle has been a bit all over the place, seemed to have ovulated late. Have an ultrasound on Wednesday and next cycle going to try clomid and cyclogest.

Definitely need to see more Bfp’s soon.

notyetamumbuttrying · 27/09/2020 13:04

Good luck for weds @Jilly1988 I'm 4dpo as well! Not heard of cyclogest?

OP posts:
Jilly1988 · 27/09/2020 14:15

Cyclogest are the progesterone pessaries. The consultant said to try the ultrasound first to see if there is a polyp causing mid cycle bleeding and then to try progesterone to see if it’s caused from hormonal imbalance. At this point I think I will try anything I’m given 😂

notyetamumbuttrying · 27/09/2020 15:14

Oh right @Jilly1988 well hope they work! My issue is with Dh so it's just waiting to see if they improve or it's ivf for us!

Hi, can i join? I'm 29, 30 next weekend, trying for first baby! I have been off the pill nearly a year but started tracking I'm May this year, I have regular cycles around 28, 29 days and usually ovulate CD17, me and my partner are both healthy so not sure why it hasn't happened for us yet ☹ anyway, I had a telephone appointment with the doctor on Friday, which I was super nervous about, she was lovely though and has booked me in for 21 day bloods and arrange a semen analysis for my other half.. So will just wait and see what the results of those are!
I'm CD9 today and feeling hopeful for this month! X

notyetamumbuttrying · 27/09/2020 17:31

@dogmam of course and best of luck on the investigations! I'm still waiting on a scan but routine appointments haven't started bk at my local hospital yet.

OP posts:
Kaybobx · 27/09/2020 18:12

Hey, can I please join?
This is cycle 13 for me and getting soooo deflated. I have a 3yrs old so trying for our second which is proving difficult. Had blood tests, and a transvaginal scan but all came back fine. Just waiting on Hubby to have a semen analysis but I'm sure that's fine too.

I use OPKs, Chart and am on my second try of soy this cycle. CD 9 at the minute

notyetamumbuttrying · 27/09/2020 20:53

@Kaybobx of course! Welcome 😊 hopefully this month is your month then!

Narwhal88 · 27/09/2020 21:54

@notyetamumbuttrying thanks for setting up the new thread. He is still taking the wellman as he was only halfway through a box but I don't think he is going to continue them. I'm not really sure whether it's best to keep taking them or not?! I have heard that taking too many antioxidants can be a bad thing as well. Who knows. He is also taking omega 3 and maca root though.

Welcome @dogmam @Kaybobx

@claireb7rg sorry to hear your partner may not want to do IVF. Maybe it's just a bit of a shock at the moment and he just needs some time to process? Maybe he needs to think of it as just a medical procedure? I think of it like if you are ill, you take a pill to help you, or have an operation to save your life, that isn't exactly natural but you would do it to live so why not do it to create a life too?
Everyone thinks about things differently though I guess. My DH has said to me he doesn't want to consider donor sperm or adoption if IVF doesn't work, which upset me quite a bit. I have said one step at a time and not to rule things out.

Tofu35 · 27/09/2020 22:56

Month 13 TTC #1, other half waiting for his semen analysis test back (our big event of this week!). Currently 10DPO. Three friends have had their babies since I started this process, Confused

I was watching your last thread waiting for it to tip over into a new one so I could join :)

notyetamumbuttrying · 28/09/2020 08:33

@Narwhal88 I don't think mine will either. He'll finish the box and then move onto sachets it seems. He bought some running trainers on Saturday and a new running outfit online so I'm expecting to see him run at some point this week too!
Hi @Tofu35 good luck for the SA, hope you get some answers! I take it you've had your bloods and scan done already? Such a pang of sadness when you feel like you're getting left behind! My friends due in Nov and she only started ttc about two months behind me.

OP posts:
Tofu35 · 28/09/2020 10:41

@notyetamumbuttrying yep bloods have been done, I don't think they've mentioned a scan yet? Maybe that's the next step- what does it involve?

notyetamumbuttrying · 28/09/2020 11:09

@Tofu35 it's of your uterus to check everything looks as it should. I didn't get to have one as they've not started bk routine appointments yet. I guess your area is the same too! If we go private it's the first thing I'm getting.

OP posts:
Tofu35 · 28/09/2020 12:53

Oh yea @notyetamumbuttrying, I was talking to a friend and she mentioned that was the next step she had. If it helps us understand the long TTC experience, I'm all for it! I've warned my other half Christmas might be a cheap one if we need to go private for any of these investigations.

notyetamumbuttrying · 28/09/2020 13:42

Yeah same @Tofu35 Dh is having his second SA in Nov and if no improvement then it's private in dec. I'm 35 in March and not prepared to not be pregnant by that birthday!
