@Yellowbaby1
I'm feeling that, been convincing myself this month, despite the cramps, acne and now spotting I'm still telling myself it might be... 🤦‍♀️

Fran2020 · 08/10/2020 19:37

Hey, sorry I've taken some time out! How is everyone? I'm 11DPO on cycle 16. Still waiting for my Gynae and fertility clinic referrals. But I did have a private consultation on Monday and going to actually get the rubella immunisation now in the hope it gives me SOME kind of immunity. Then after a month, I will have the HSG x

Annny27 · 09/10/2020 09:00

Hi ladies! DH had his SA analysis back and its not great

So he has low morphology so the shape of the sperm is bad :S (2%) but he has a lot more sperm than average so in theory the GP said ir shouldn't be a big issue but it is kind of a blow :(

@notyetamumbuttrying what were your results?

Originalusername6432762 · 09/10/2020 09:25

@Annny27
Sorry to hear that, hopefully doctor has suggested some next steps for you.

Annny27 · 09/10/2020 10:05

@Originalusername6432762 they didn't really give anything for next steps! But fertility consultant is in a few weeks so I will ask them!

Originalusername6432762 · 09/10/2020 10:21

@Annny27
That's good you have another appointment to look to though, something to focus on

notyetamumbuttrying · 09/10/2020 10:34

@Annny27 if it was only morphology and he has a high count and good motility I wouldn't worry. Shape can be sorted with supplements. Try him on proxceed plus.
My Dh's results were abysmal 😂 see below:
5million per ml - should be over 15mil
14% motility - should be over 32%
2.3 morphology - should be over 3% but have also read in other places it should be over 4%, so like I said, I wouldn't worry too much!

Annny27 · 09/10/2020 11:33

@Originalusername6432762 yes I am more relaxed knowing we are looking into things :D has your OH had tests?

@notyetamumbuttrying thanks lovely! You have definitely made me feel more optimistic:)

Think my husbands was 37mil per ml and then 2% morphology and they said the other stuff was sperfectly fine and my husband didn't think to ask for the other numbers only the count ans obviously they told him the morphology because thats the one lower one!

Originalusername6432762 · 09/10/2020 11:35

@Annny27
Yeah he got normal results so it's back to me and waiting for a referral now! I think I'd rather this way as if it was him I'd have extra worries with how he was coping with the news.

Originalusername6432762 · 09/10/2020 11:36

I suppose it depends what kind of person he is, my other half thinks emotion is weakness 🤦‍♀️

Whilstwewait · 09/10/2020 11:39

@notyetamumbuttrying all ok thanks. Been really lucky symptoms wise. Just tiredness and feeling a bit sick in the evenings if I'm too hungry. My private scan is on sunday. I'm nervous/excited then NHS scan is the 29th. I felt so much better when we booked the care appointment. The excitement of thinking it would happen soon like I had when we first starting trying came back. Good luck. I'll keep checking in

@Annny27 sorry to hear about the morphology. I don't think you need to worry if a high count and it can change a lot between samples. Its not something they even use to look at but I understand when TTC you can't help but want all the results to be spot on x

Annny27 · 09/10/2020 11:47

@notyetamumbuttrying It was actually 54 million so count is very normal range:)

Guess will just have to keep trying and hope that one of the non weird shaped sperms makes its way haha 😂

@Originalusername6432762 some men are like that arent they! Mine was closed off for half hourafter getting the results but has talked about it now:)

@Whilstwewait best of luck for Sunday!!!

Motherofkittens28 · 09/10/2020 12:20

@Annny27 my fiance got 2.5% morphology and was told to cut down on his drinking! He's not too happy about that but he has stopped drinking every night so let's hope it makes a difference!

notyetamumbuttrying · 09/10/2020 13:11

@Annny27 as long as motility was good too then you honestly have nothing to worry about. Supplements will sort out morphology! You can see why I just want November to roll round! I want this second SA so badly to see what (if any) difference has been made. Mine had 25 million count so yours has more than doubled mine, I honestly wouldn't worry one bit but then I'm not a dr lol!

@Whilstwewait good luck and thank you! Please do keep us posted x

@Motherofkittens28 hope so too! See mine only drank on weekends and not every weekend. It must've been the smoking but he only had 4 a day (more on weekends), must make all the difference!

Hello all, hope everything is doing okay?

Had the shittiest of weeks, I've been so stressed which I think has made af longer, day 5 and she is still here 😩 Still waiting for dps seamen analysis results , only been a week so I guess I should be more patient!

I need a holiday!!!

Motherofkittens28 · 09/10/2020 17:51

@Whilstwewait I've just booked to start acupuncture, how long were you having it before you got your BFP? Do you think it helped?

Whilstwewait · 09/10/2020 18:18

Hi @motherofkittens28 I had 4 sessions before my positive. I enjoyed going. Its like anything though if you get pregnant that month you think its worked. Like people swearing by preseed when they get pregnant the month they use that. I like to think it had something to do with it though having tried so long. I went cycle day 8 when i was still spotting. Cycle day 12 ,then day 17 which ended up being day I got my positive OPK then a week after. It was a chinese lady so the traditional acupuncture. She said my spotting was wrong and showing that something wasn't right. It felt good to just be doing something to help and helped me relax x

Yellowbaby1 · 09/10/2020 18:29

I think I am going to give acupuncture a try not just for a bfp but also for my stress/energy levels @Whilstwewait

Narwhal88 · 10/10/2020 08:32

@notyetamumbuttrying the dna karyotyping is being done through our NHS fertility consultant. She said they need to do it before referral for IVF in case there is a genetic issue he could pass down. If there is we have to have genetic counselling. Some sperm issues can be caused by genetic conditions like XXY - Klinefelters syndrome. This means any boys born would also have infertility.
Let me know how you get on with the urologist - who did you go for? I have looked into it but not sure if there's any point so would be interested to know.

@Annny27 I agree with others you don't have much to worry about if it's just morphology, this can vary so much between samples and as long as count is high it should still happen, is just likely to take longer. We tried everything to improve it and it just went down from 2% to 1%! Even though count and motility doubled!

Annny27 · 10/10/2020 21:02

Evening everyone:)

@narwhal88 thanks lovely! My DH is super healthy so I am doubtful any lifestyle changes would make a difference anyway, like you said!
Have they given you an estimated time frame for ivf?

@Yellowbaby1 I have been thinking of trying accupuncture! I am anxious anyway and even more during infertility!

@Whilstwewait all the best for tomorrow's scan!!!

@Motherofkittens28 @notyetamumbuttrying my DH doesn't smoke or drink so can't even cut down on anything haha!

notyetamumbuttrying · 10/10/2020 22:26

@Narwhal88 Ah makes sense, I guess we'll get that too! So we were referred to the urologist so it's at our hospital which is in woolwich. We weren't gonna get it, but ended up speaking to another dr who said it made sense for him to go, and I agreed! It's at the end of the month so will let you know the outcome.
Very odd that his morphology went down but everything else up! I'm so intrigued to see what happens to my DH!
@Annny27 gosh yeah there, there's not much else left then! I'd just introduce some supplements and that should be enough. 🤞🏾

I'm confused with my cycle this month. Since May it's been 25-27 days with some spotting in the last week or so, bleed for about 7 days. This month I got spotting on day 24 and 25, then on day 26 and 27 it was a bit heavier but still basically spotting, then basically nothing. So it's now day 29. Or is it day 4 with the heaving spotting as day 1?? I'm so confused!

Whilstwewait · 11/10/2020 10:50

@Yellowbaby1 I'd definitely recommend it. I found it so relaxing after a busy day in work my mind would just switch off

@Annny27 Thanks 😊 just been. Was lovely. I thought it would feel more real now but it still doesn't. X

Originalusername6432762 · 11/10/2020 12:11

@Whilstwewait
Ooh the scan that's very exciting :)

kerrym87 · 11/10/2020 21:58

@Originalusername6432762 have you taken a pregnancy test at all? Just in case? If it's lighter than usual period could be that?
