@notyetamumbuttrying Arrived with a vengeance this morning, cramps are vicious! OH going to contact GP this week for his SA so we can get the ball rolling

notyetamumbuttrying · 05/10/2020 08:27

@kerrym87 sorry hun! Good that OH is getting sorted, you won't regret it. Even tho we have an issue, I feel so much better knowing that and not kidding myself I'm pregnant every month when it's just horrendous pmt and period pain. I'm now just waiting for the repeat one in Nov to see if they've improved or not with the lifestyle changes put in place. If not, then it's private ivf for us as I'm not prepared to wait another year for nhs treatment. I'm 35 in March and never in my wildest dreams did I think I wouldn't have a baby by then. So if I can be pregnant by then, then great!

Morning :) 1 or 2dpo today and glad to be in the tww ☺

@notyetamumbuttrying wow 3 weeks for the SA to come back! I think my husbands will be similar as its two weeks since he had it and still nothing. Would you not get ivf on the nhs or do you not fit the criteria?

@kerrym87 sorry that she arrived:(

Welcome @Yellowbaby1 :) I have been ttc since June 2019, had a MMC in november at 12 weeks and nothing since! Its a rubbish road :(

@Tofu35 sorry AF also arrived :(

Annny27 · 05/10/2020 11:23

Hi ladies, just an update - had my fertility consultation this morning. I am having my progesteron check next week and then of we don't conceive, the cycle after I will gave my days 1-5 blood tests plus rubella and will then have a mid cycle transvaginal ultrasound around day 10-14 to check everything is okay!

I am always happy when they say "you are so young". They did say they expect nothing to be found so unexplained infertility.....I dont know whats better really, unexplained or having an issue. None really, it would be better just to have a baby easily haha

kerrym87 · 05/10/2020 11:36

I hope they investigate further when referred to fertility as GP doesn't have a clue , they aren't suggesting any bloods at any particular point in my cycle. I get multiple episode ewcm per cycle, cycles 35-43 days and my FSH and LH although in normal range they're supposed to be the same and now the LH is double my FSH. The difference from January is obvious and all points to pcos but cos it's in 'normal range' they said I don't have it. Just want a proper gynae/fertility opinion but private round here is expensive even for consultation but it's same hospitals as NHS service....

Moominmiss · 05/10/2020 11:38

Can I join?

I’m in my 12th cycle of ttc now.
1 mc at 9 weeks in January 2020, then 2 early losses in March and June.

Was referred to fertility consultant after the loss in June, all tests and scans have been great, good egg reserve etc. Oh’s SA results were great. So the likely issue is down to my age (38) and egg quality not being what it used to be (I have 3 dc from previous relationship).

I’ve been taking ubiquinol for 4 months now to try and improve egg quality. This month I started using OvuSense as I found a couple of times using opk’s I missed picking up my lh surge.

It’s picked up my ovulation and I’m now 6dpo.

Hoping to be able to get a bfp that I could perhaps keep a secret and share with my oh for Christmas 🤞🏻 A girl can always dream right!

Good luck to everyone else xx

Hi, I was on a few threads a while ago. We tried for a baby for 6 years and finally have a baby now. My partner had terrible sperm, 2 million and those 2 million were not doing well! We tried all the maca root, no hot baths, fertilaid, trying, pretending to not try and going on holiday you name it! I always noticed my OH was very veiny on the back of his legs and after 6 months of trying thought it could be a varicosele (i was very impatient). He went to the doctors and they said even if it was a varicosele then it wouldn't be treated/affect fertility but the doctor had a feel around and assured him there was no varicosele. So 5 years later (years of awful times trying and nearly separating) my OH went to the doctors with a lump so they sent him for a scan. At the scan you could see this huge red spot where the varicosele was, they offered to operate on it but my partner declined (I nearly killed him in the car park). He had a think about it after I had reeled off all the shit examinations and procedures I had to investigate the cause and he decided to have the operation. 1 month later near Christmas he went into hospital for a 15 minute painless operation and walked out of hospital absolutely fine with a mild ache. 3 months later we got a positive test and I wasn't expecting it at all due to them saying it was a 50/50 chance. I hope this helps someone as I believe varicoseles are common in men and do very much affect the sperm. I have been where you all are and I wish you all speedy success because it really is a tough time, I found the not knowing the worst.

Wanttobemuma · 05/10/2020 11:53

Hello everyone,
I have just joined this group.
I am 32 years old (33 in April next year).
I have been TTC for about a year now and it has been very stressful. I have stopped using ovulation test kits as they would not give me positive results some months. I had my day 21 blood test and the progesterone level was 26 instead of 30. My cycle is normally anywhere between 23-26 days. And normally last only for 4 days but since last 2 cycles I have been getting spotting until day 7/8.
I have been on conceive plus for about 5 months now.
My husband is on wellman too.
Do you have any suggestions for me.
How to keep sane and positive. I really really need to stay positive and also want my baby in my arms.

notyetamumbuttrying · 05/10/2020 12:31

@Annny27 I'd have to wait another year and I'm not prepared to do that being 35 in March and wanting two. I'd get chasing the results of his SA, they'll have it, they're just being slack in calling him!
I'm having a transvaginal tomorrow! Didn't know it had to be done at certain times of your cycle though. I'll likely be cd1 tomorrow so that'll be pleasant for them 😬 unexplained infertility must be so frustrating!! As there's nothing to actually fix, but at least nothing medically wrong. I hear ya on just wanting a bloody baby already 😂
@Moominmiss I remember you from before, we chatted on the thread you set up I think! Sorry you're still around on here. I hope you get success soon!
@Iamneverfull thank you for your story! I've been pushing my Dh on this and we have a referral to a urologist now so if it is that, I hope they pick it up! So glad you got your baby 😊
@Wanttobemuma hiya! What did they say about low progesterone? Be worth you getting day 3 bloods done too! They test fsh and lh. Have you had a scan yet to check your uterus?

OP posts:
Moominmiss · 05/10/2020 13:31

@notyetamumbuttrying yes I remembered your name from my old thread. Same to you lovely, it sucks still being here doesn’t it.
Hopefully it’s only a matter of time for everyone here. I know that 12 months isn’t a crazy length of time to be ttc, but it’s also not a short time and every month that goes by is just another kick in the gut 😔

notyetamumbuttrying · 05/10/2020 13:43

@Moominmiss it's bloody gut wrenching! I'm really feeling it today as due on tomorrow so I'm hormonal. Two good friends due babies this month. I'll update you in full a bit later about my situ so that you're up to date. Got to go bk to work now.

OP posts:
Wanttobemuma · 05/10/2020 16:06

@notyetamumbuttrying I did have the day 3 blood test and all was normal there.
About the low progesterone actually I had the test 6 days before my period instead of 7 so the GP said the slightly low progesterone could be because of that. GP has refered me for a scan still waiting for them to call and book me for one.

Moominmiss · 05/10/2020 16:12

Oh @notyetamumbuttrying I know exactly
How you feel having close friends due to give birth.

One of my closest friends fell pregnant while I was suffering my first mc. She’s due in 2 weeks. And my sil had her baby at the end of July. I would have been due 4 days after her. Still breaks my heart knowing I should have a baby the same age as my niece.

X

notyetamumbuttrying · 05/10/2020 18:04

@Wanttobemuma it's good you're getting the scan done. I'm having mine tomorrow afternoon!

@Moominmiss aww that's so sad. I'm sorry lovely x

OP posts:
Wanttobemuma · 05/10/2020 20:00

@notyetamumbuttrying let us know how it was.
I have heard that you get the results straight away?

Yellowbaby1 · 05/10/2020 20:12

Great to see so many new posts today. My heart hugs you all. I was due to have a flu jab tomorrow but I've cancelled it just incase. Been getting tingly boobs for a few days which I've never experienced before. But then again since ttc I've been symptom spotting and counting down the days to test on nearly every cycle.
But I've realised this is normal behaviour too.
I am cycle day 19 tomorrow and I suspect 9dpo but I'm currently only going from CM and mood/wellbeing.
I've hesitated using ovulation strips these last 12 months as I haven't wanted to turn sex into a chore. Although I think I have already done that as I have been asking for alot more sex than usual. So may aswell try the strips next cycle.
Everyone tells you dont think about it. But I challenge every woman ttc not to think about it
I have a daily internet search on early pregnancy symptoms lol
I'm trying to distract myself
What strategies do others use to try and distract themselves

notyetamumbuttrying · 05/10/2020 22:57

@Wanttobemuma I'm going to try and talk whilst it's being done and see if they say it all looks ok or not. Will update you afterwards!
@Yellowbaby1 I agree, you may as well try them. No tips for distraction apart from to do things with your day/evening. I helped my friend move into her new room in a flat on Saturday and spent the whole day moving boxes, assembling furniture and cleaning and it was the best distraction from everything!

Anitaatje33 · 06/10/2020 08:53

Hi everyone, sorry not posted in a while, feeling a bit low. Had my HSG last week which came out fine, 5 days of spotting afterwards which apparently is 'normal' but ever since the test my cycle has been weird, I've attached an image of my BBT so far this cycle (CD16 today) and it is consistently above 37C, which I have NEVER had before pre-ovulation. No signs of ovulation yet, and also no fertile mucus at all, also something I have never had before in the 1.5 years of TTC, I always have excess amounts of it. What is going on :(

Annny27 · 06/10/2020 10:47

Morning :) I am 2/3dpo now

@notyetamumbuttrying any sign of AF? Hopefully not! And ahh yes I wouldnt want to wait another year if I was in your position because if your husbands sperm doesn't get better by November theres no point waiting a year really is there! As ivf is likely to be very successful considering its male factor :)

@Moominmiss I think we were on another thread together at some point too! Sorry you are still on the journey as well :(

@Anitaatje33 maybe you are coming down with something? So your body is delaying ovulation untill you are better?

Originalusername6432762 · 06/10/2020 10:59

Hi I'm new here!

@Yellowbaby1
I force myself not to google symptoms! Sometimes I buy myself something as a distraction 😂

I am feeling a bit low today as starting to get menstrual symptoms but I try to tell myself all the good things and why it's good that it hasn't happened yet...

notyetamumbuttrying · 06/10/2020 11:29

@Annny27 yep she's here and have my bloody transvaginal scan this afternoon 🤦🏾‍♀️bloody it will be 😂 sorry, couldn't resist! And nope, exactly not! I'm glad someone gets it! I'm almost certain it'll be a day success esp if we do ICSI! Been doing my research already. I've picked out the clinic too. Care in London, amazing reviews and results! Pricey than some others but if I get a baby from it then I don't care that I'm paying more!
@Originalusername6432762 welcome! @Anitaatje33 sorry you're both feeling low! Not much more I can say other than get investigations underway if not done so already. You'll feel sooooo much better once you do! And I don't chart so can't help with yours, sorry hun x

I'm currently waiting for referral on nhs. No problems that I'm aware of but gp referred me due to age and time trying. Heard nothing about appointment date and I think yet another period is on its way ☹️

Annny27 · 06/10/2020 12:04

@notyetamumbuttrying oh no! Haha I had a ultrasound in the middle of miscarrying so they are very used to all of the blood! I kept apologising but they honestly didn't mind atall. Good luck and hope it goes well :):)

@Originalusername6432762 welcome:) how old are you? I think its 6 months ttc after 35 but a year if you are under

Originalusername6432762 · 06/10/2020 12:31

@Annny27
I'm 38. I got a bit stressed out after my birthday this year and decided it was time to go to the GP about it. She has been great but has done all she can, hope referral docs are as good if I ever get to see one!

notyetamumbuttrying · 06/10/2020 13:43

Thanks @Annny27! Smile
@Originalusername6432762 I'm waiting on our referral too! Let's hope it's quick! Whereabouts are you in the U.K.? If at all!
