@Theawkwardblonde my vitamin D was slightly low as well, though tbh I think most people in the UK have low levels in winter! Just increase your supplements. I take pregnacare and a separate vit d supplement. Do you mean your ovarian reserve aka AMH level?

@crazycatlady1981 I can't remember if it was me who said about it on here but I tried grapefruit juice a couple of months ago but found it did nothing tbh! I drank a glass a day. I barely have any ewcm though and really struggle to improve it. I found cough syrup (guaifenesin) helped but tastes disgusting! Drinking more in general also helps.

Theawkwardblonde · 07/01/2021 22:18

@Narwhal88 yes it was my AMH. She wasn't worried but it came back at 7.6 which is in the 30-34 year old bracket, not for my age. She said not to stress and that it was just a bit lower than it should be. Naturally I've been Googling and now adamant my eggs are drying up!

kerrym87 · 08/01/2021 06:18

I tried agnus castus for 3 months and it did bugger all!🤣 just seen gynae and she's happy with OH sperm count atm especially with him cutting back on booze, taking supplements and losing weight. Looks like I have got polycystic ovaries and possible endo so they've put me on list for camera and dye through tubes but as clinic stopped 6 months due to covid last year with they way things are heading hoi dont know when it will be done. Of it's more tha 8-10weeks might go private just for tests

crazycatlady1981 · 08/01/2021 08:14

Thanks @Narwhal88! I’m trying to up my water intake as I definitely don’t drink enough! Hopefully that will help! 🤞🏻

Motherofkittens28 · 08/01/2021 10:31

@Theawkwardblonde I have a low AMH for my age, they only really know what that means when it comes to ivf as its an indication of how many eggs you will get. They do not test the general population and therefore don't know if it is linked to issues with natural pregnancy or not. If it helps I had an AMH of 7.9 at 35 and subsequently had an accidental pregnancy so its perfectly possible. My AMH is now 5.2 and the ivf clinic aren't telling me there is no hope. It also shows it only dropped by 2.7 in 4 years for me so absolutely does not show you will run out of eggs tomorrow! I hope that helps

@crazycatlady1981 – Thank you! Yeah I think I might need to work on being more persistent with them if it continues!
I tried grapefruit juice for a few months then gave up - I did 250-300ml a day from CD6 up to CD14 (or ovulation). The first month I felt like I noticed a difference but then by month 3 I wasn't actually convinced. I didn't think I had any issues with my CM it was just something I'd read and thought it couldn't harm so was worth a try!

@CreativeThinkerTequilaDrinker – Thank you! Starting to realise it’s a postcode lottery with GPs – even my husband’s GP (who works in the same GP surgery) had a completely different take on it to mine when they actually said the doctors working in the surgery should all follow the same protocol! I bet you’re glad you paid for the private tests in the end and I hope that Proxeed works for you. 3 months feels like a long time but at least you know you’re doing something to help.

I’ve heard about acupuncture being recommended but I’ve avoided it as I hate needles. Starting to realise I may have to get over my needle fear though if we ended up having IVF. Is acupuncture still going ahead atm despite lockdown? I’ve been listening to BFN on spotify and I love it, will make a list of the others you’ve recommended for when I finish that!

On your point re alcohol I’m quite similar to you units wise. I don’t drink much in the way of spirits or beer but I do drink a lot of wine. My drinking habits (excluding the Christmas period where I indulged in both food and alcohol!) are usually drink no alcohol during the week but then over Friday, Saturday and Sunday I’ll drink on average a couple of glasses of wine a day. If there’s something social going on then I’d probably drink more on that day and nothing the day after or whatever. Honestly it doesn’t feel like a lot but I guess when you add it up it’s probably one to two bottles of wine a week (there’s a lot worse right?!)! I’ve also thought about cutting down especially since it’s January – I’ll see how I do this weekend! A lot of what I've read seems to be that if drinking affects your chances of pregnancy then it would be if it interferes with ovulation which it doesn't for me. If I'd given up drinking this last 12 months I'd be even more miserable! On a positive note I got a new blender for Christmas so I’ve been making super healthy smoothies every day!

@Hannah154 I’m still having acupuncture during lockdown too! My acupuncturist regards fertility acupuncture treatment as time sensitive so it’s still allowed during lockdown, but she did say that if Covid cases keep getting higher, she may shut temporarily for a few weeks for everyone’s safety. I’m hoping she doesn’t as I’ve been having treatment for 7 weeks now and I feel like I might be finally making some progress!

Went into hibernation during the TWW this month, so hope I haven't missed any BFPs in the group! I didn't realise how close we were to the magic 1000 posts, we'll need to move to a new thread soon! Testing on Wednesday next week, but temps are starting to dip so not going to be too optimistic!

notyetamumbuttrying · 09/01/2021 11:12

@Tofu35 heya, I said I'd set up a new thread soon. What's your next testing/due on date and I'll add you?
Sorry ladies I've been really bad at keeping up recently. I'll catch up and post again soon x

AF due Tuesday, testing on Wed :)

Theawkwardblonde · 09/01/2021 12:11

@notyetamumbuttrying don't worry! It's hard keeping on top of an active thread 😊 as if we need a new thread!

@Tofu35 I'm due in 2 days. Actually resisting the urge to test this cycle as I can feel AF cramps. I've had a weird couple of days though. Felt really nauseous, been waking up at 4am and not being able to sleep, then exhausted all day. The optimist in me says I'm in with a chance, but the realist knows not to interpret pms as early pregnancy symptoms 😂😂 joy of the TWW!

@theawkwardblonde same here! This month I've had a stretching feeling in my lower abdomen, waking up at 4am, bloated and peeing all the time. So incognito mode on to search for "are these symptoms" and rubbing my belly. PMS symptoms are a cruel joke when we're TTC Confused

Theawkwardblonde · 09/01/2021 12:33

@Motherofkittens28 seemed to have missed your comment! Thanks for that. That does put me slightly at ease.

@Tofu35 I've had the same stretchy feeling the last 3 days. The nausea has thrown me a bit but it seems to have eased today. I'm not going to test unless I have a missed period as it always upsets me when I test negative now. Fingers crossed for you!

Hey all, AF arrived this morning, I seem to have moved onto a 27 day cycle over the last few months. In theory I guess that means this is day 1 of my first ivf cycle, although drugs aren't due to start until around the 30th. Fingers crossed for some good eggs!

notyetamumbuttrying · 09/01/2021 17:26

Sorry I've not said hi to the newbies! Welcome 🥰
Please give me your testing/due on dates and I'll add them to the start of the new thread so that we can all track each other's easily.
@Motherofkittens28 sorry af arrived! I'm still waiting for my first ivf appointment so excuse my ignorance but I thought you had to start the drugs on day 1 of your cycle?
@Theawkwardblonde when are you due on? Hopefully promising symptoms!
@Tofu35 I really hope this is it for you! We could have two bfp's next week 🙀😀
@crazycatlady1981 I'm glad you're feeling like you're making progress by having the acupuncture that's great! I hope she's able to continue. I'm glad yours is open too @CreativeThinkerTequilaDrinker x

Thanks @notyetamumbuttrying you do on a short protocol which effectively lasts 28 days, they have put me on a long one which lasts 10 weeks from start to finish. On the long they down regulate your natural hormones first and then you start stims around week 6. Its apparently a more aggressive protocol if they are expecting a poor ovarian response as it should maximise the number of eggs collected. They are also putting me on the maximum dose of stimulants because of my low AMH (5.2).

Theawkwardblonde · 09/01/2021 18:59

@notyetamumbuttrying I'm due AF on the 11th. Won't be testing unless I'm a few days late. Starting my next block of shifts tonight so hopefully that'll keep my mind off things.

I need to catch up haha! @notyetamumbuttrying I am due 17th/18th :)

Hannah154 · 10/01/2021 10:39

@notyetamumbuttrying AF due on 30th January for me (ovulation expected 18th). Cycles have varied by a few days each month lately for me!

notyetamumbuttrying · 10/01/2021 12:11

@Motherofkittens28 oh I see! I haven't had my amh checked yet. Getting that done at the first appointment. Hoping it'll be fine though as my bloods showed strong ov and our issue is MFI. Guessing I'll go on a short protocol. I hope your long one does the trick! Best of luck 🤞🏾
@Theawkwardblonde hope work goes ok! Hope AF stays away too, not too much longer to go now!
@CreativeThinkerTequilaDrinker good luck for this cycle!
@Annny27 thank you 😊 best of luck
@Hannah154 good luck this cycle! X
