TTC after a chemical pregnancy / early miscarriage

Hi everyone, on a few really supportive threads on here but thought I’d make another for anyone who may be in a similar position to me and we can support eachother... I’m petrified of trying again after last month tbh.

Last week I thought our dreams had finally come true when I got 3 BFP (including a digital!).. a week later I was bleeding and a call to the EPU confirmed it was a chemical pregnancy / early miscarriage.. so I’m back here and tomorrow will be CD1 cycle 4 (I know so many people have been trying so much longer) but just didn’t expect to be back so soon after getting a BFP.

So tomorrow marks CD5.. AF is due around 1st August and I promise to not POAS (apart from the one I need to pee on tomorrow to confirm the pregnancy is gone!) until 8th August if AF doesn’t show.. I can’t risk seeing a chemical and testing early again so have told myself never again will I test early.

Would love some buddies along the way with me 🤞🏼🌈❤️

@Cornertakenquickly sorry to hear that ♥️ I would count the first day of full flow as CD1 (rather than the spotting, I recently learned that apparently that’s what we’re supposed to do) but even having said that, my cycle was 4 days longer straight after my chemical. Back to normal this month xx

Boc86 · 24/11/2020 11:51

Thank you ladies

Thedot90 · 24/11/2020 12:35

I had a 75 day cycle after my chemical/early miscarriage (around 5 weeks) 😣 I do have PCOS, but cycles are usually 50 max, so the wait was killer! They think I didn’t ovulate after the miscarriage which was why it took so long for me to bleed (and that was with help to bleed!). Hopefully won’t be as long for you, but even with a chemical the body can be a bit out of synch

Boo2020 · 24/11/2020 12:43

Hey ladies, so I'm now on CD58 😔 Although I got a peak on my ovulation i don't think I did ovulate and I think I tried twice a few days apart! Got a phone appointment with the doctor Friday morning..the whole thing is just getting me down! As anyone had a really long cycle and seems a bit odd and gone to the doctor? From my miscarriage in August I bleed for 2 weeks 31 days after a started spotting (really light but fresh blood) and now im on CD58 X

rttcbabyno1 · 24/11/2020 19:01

@Cornertakenquickly so sorry you had to go through this, think we all have on this post 🙁
I had a CP in august, only knew about it for a day. I thought I had all the symptoms too.. the late period just kickstarted me into thinking I was and obviously then the positive test... period came the day after, just breaks your heart really. No one understands either, but we all do. Hope your okay xx

shelbyrae · 26/11/2020 09:26

@Cornertakenquickly I'm sorry you had to go through that, it's the worst isn't it Sad

I had one at 4w6 in September and since then like you I've had really bad PMS starting right after O and last cycle AF was weirdly 5 days late. But then according to opks I O'd on time this cycle so hopefully we're just getting back on track?

Cornertakenquickly · 26/11/2020 09:31

Thanks everyone for your comments. I'm sorry you have all been through it too. It is really horrible. I've felt like a fraud for feeling down about it but you have all helped me to see it's normal.

AF turned up yesterday which I'm both relieved and sad about at the same time. At least I can focus on next cycle and know that things have reset. Hard to stay positive at times though.

Boo2020 · 29/11/2020 17:51

AF as arrived 🥳..after 62 days I lireally couldn't be happier!..CD2 for me so fingers crossed this is my lucky cycle 🤞🏾

Iloveoreos · 01/12/2020 16:38

Is this a positive opk?? TMI alert*
Left stick is by dipping in disposable cup with pee and right is peeing directly on it (same sample ). I cant tell if its positive or not.

@Iloveoreos looks very positive to me - congrats!

Iloveoreos · 01/12/2020 19:43

I hope so.although not sure if i shud ttc now or wait one cycle as advised by gp :/ im on day 35 since mc

Thedot90 · 02/12/2020 03:28

If it’s positive you may have already missed your window, but if you feel comfortable go for it - usually they advise you to wait because it’s easier to date a pregnancy if you’ve had a bleed, but there’s nothing unsafe about ttc after a miscarriage

Iloveoreos · 02/12/2020 10:58

I thought if its positive then u have a good chance for that day?

Iloveoreos · 02/12/2020 11:00

Btw does anyone get slight bloating like feeling or mild cramps around ovulation time?

MamaMoonbeam · 04/12/2020 08:52

Ugh. Had a chemical last month and assumed, because 'af' started and finished as usual, that I would ovulate as usual but haven't had a peak in lh yet, just highs, and bbt hasn't risen yet either. Tbh I half expected this cycle to not be 'right'.
Did anyone else ovulate later than usual after a chemical?

Iloveoreos · 04/12/2020 10:13

@mamamoonbeam cycle can be disrupted following chemical. I guess body is resetting itself maybe

MamaMoonbeam · 04/12/2020 11:16

Yea, I guess we'll just dtd every other day until ovulation is confirmed 🤷🏻‍♀️

Iloveoreos · 04/12/2020 11:35

@mamamoonbeam hang in there hun xx just dont think too much or stress out.

whitershadeofpale · 04/12/2020 12:07

Hi everyone, I hope it’s ok to join. I had an early MC last week and we’re just about to start TTC again. I didn’t monitor temperature or do tests last time, just kept an eye on my cycle so I think we’ll do that again this time.

Iloveoreos · 04/12/2020 13:21

@whitershadeofpale hi hun xx. Sorry to hear about ur mc.
Hope ur ok

I never did bbt. Only opk sticks(amazon ones) and that too because my cycles are not fixed dates

Littlebee1990 · 05/12/2020 07:40

Hi ladies. I hope you’re all ok. I can’t believe this thread is nearly full, I’d love to be tagged on the new one so I can still be part of your journeys. Just wanted to update you and let you know baby is doing well and happy and healthy inside me, 17 weeks now and we just found out we’re having a baby boy.
Hoping for lots of Christmas BFPs for you all xxxx

@Littlebee1990 very happy to hear the update! Thanks for a supportive thread. I am now 9 weeks (and 3 days!) after a miscarriage in July, and found this thread so helpful in keeping me sane and realise I wasn’t the only one.
Good luck everyone. Xx

Boo2020 · 05/12/2020 10:02
