TTC after a chemical pregnancy / early miscarriage

Hi everyone, on a few really supportive threads on here but thought I’d make another for anyone who may be in a similar position to me and we can support eachother... I’m petrified of trying again after last month tbh.

Last week I thought our dreams had finally come true when I got 3 BFP (including a digital!).. a week later I was bleeding and a call to the EPU confirmed it was a chemical pregnancy / early miscarriage.. so I’m back here and tomorrow will be CD1 cycle 4 (I know so many people have been trying so much longer) but just didn’t expect to be back so soon after getting a BFP.

So tomorrow marks CD5.. AF is due around 1st August and I promise to not POAS (apart from the one I need to pee on tomorrow to confirm the pregnancy is gone!) until 8th August if AF doesn’t show.. I can’t risk seeing a chemical and testing early again so have told myself never again will I test early.

Thank you, I got there late afternoon and then they said they only doing it at certain times after telling me they do it all day and night! So I’m back this afternoon :(

Hi all :) had a cp in September at 4w6. Since then I've been getting regular opk's but had some weird hormonal symptoms as well. Happy to find this group, hope I'm getting back to normal even though drs said my body would take it no differently than a slightly late cycle x

Hey ladies! I need some advice...How soon after a misscarraige can you have sex? The epu said as long as i hae a negative test its okay to start trying again. I had a mc at 5 weeks,they said my hcg levels were only 27! So ive done a test an its obvs negative. We dtd yesterday so it had been a week since the bleeding started. Obvs all bleeding has stopped but ive have a few stabbing pains in my lower left side and now im worried its caused an infection? Am i just being paranoid?!?

@SunnySide1992 sorry to hear about your mc. There is no right time to have sex post mc. Probably depends on how you feel. Did you have a scan post miscarriage? You should def contact your epu if you're having pains or go into A&E. Look after yourself.x

Thanks @mishmased the pain has stopped, it was weird, like stabbing pains but only lasted about a minute. Ive just been to the loo and have had like gooey discharge, now im freaking out again!

@Mishmased i didnt get offered a scan they just said to do a test in 7 days time and if it was negative carry on as normal!

Just hope it's hormones settling, I have PCOS but manage it so hopefully it hasn't thrown everything off balance again x

@Mishmased all ok with me, coming into my FW so going to stop DTD towards end of this week to skip a cycle. Had our call with fertility clinic today. Been sent for scan and Hycosy and need to have day 3 bloods taken (GP insistent that I didn’t at time🙄) but they’ve put me on a 10 week vitamin d course so see how that goes. She said because of CP that she thinks all will be well with TTC and that just a case of being unlucky really.

Welcome newbies - sorry you have to be here, but hopefully you find it a helpful place to be.

@Mishmased I’m okay thank you! Af arrived today (2 days earlier than expected so not sure if I ov’d early or shorter LP) after a very pink, although very faint, second line on a FRER this morning - definitely an evap not another CP. Since FRERs are known for it I was guarded when I saw it, thankfully! I’ll attach the photo to show you. So onto cycle 5 for me.

@LS2020 lovely to hear from you. Glad they’re being proactive and sending you for a scan but annoying your GP wouldn’t take bloods before now. Enjoy your month off, not having a tww will be lovely I’m sure xx

Thank you ladies, I had the injection about 5:30pm 😔 so now I have to pray it works and my levels have dropped by Monday or I have to have it again, if that doesn’t work it’s surgery 😭

@boc86 just read your story, im so sorry for what you are having to going through. Fingers crossed everything will settle down now, male sure you are getting lots of rest
@mishmased thankyou i will. Feeling better today i gave up on doing opks as they stressed me out too much! But after 2 years of ttc im pretty intune with my body so just go by cm, fingers crossed my cycled will regulate as they were before x

So a question ladies, do we count day 1 of mc as day 1 of cycle?

@Boc86 fingers crossed your levels start to drop and you don’t need surgery 🤞🏻 Hope you’re not having to work or do anything too stressy this week - lots of rest and looking after yourself xx

@Mishmased yup, about 4 hours later. Think I’ll be avoiding FRER from now on!

@SunnySide1992 I had a chemical so it was quite early (not quite 5 weeks, I was about 4+5) so I didn’t go to epu or anything so my advice isn’t from medical knowledge, but I called day 1 of my chemical bleed CD1 yeah. That next cycle was a little messed up for me, a bit longer than usual.

Anyone else experienced this? I'm so frustrated and confused.

Im sorry u had to go thru this hun xx. I went thru same in october :( Im like you on cd 30 today and no AF yet. Although i havent ttc this month as gp told me to wait one cycle.

@Mishmased I was on a PCOS drug called spironolactone for a bit but just knocked everything further off course (like month long AF ) and dr won't put me on metformin because my BMI is normal. Normally I just manage it by limiting sugar and taking supplements...I have a regular cycle thankfully so fx everything is back to normal!
