Ladies!! Got my fertility appointment through but it's not until 22nd feb 😩 had a little cry and I was expecting jan latest, not end of feb, but hey ho. At least it's in now! More time to lose excess timber and get healthy etc.

lamby12 · 09/12/2020 21:27

@notyetamumbuttrying sorry it's later than you wanted. But great news that you have the appointment - it will come round quickly!!

We pushed for an appointment as soon as possible then it's taking weeks upon weeks to get all the follow up including some gp tests which now won't be til jan/Feb, so now we've realised there was no ridiculous rush on the 1st appointment! Remember it's a long journey. X

notyetamumbuttrying · 09/12/2020 21:37

@lamby12 she told us that that appointment would be to sign the paperwork for the funding and to get my Amh tested and for Dh to get his repeat SA so I'm assuming we'll then start ivf once all that's in and I get my drugs and my period. That's what she made it sound like anyway, god knows 🙄 it truly is a long journey! 15 months of this shit now. 😐 anywho, how are you doing? What month are you on now?

lamby12 · 09/12/2020 22:12

@notyetamumbuttrying oh
It sounds like you are well into the process - though they always make it sound like things will happen quicker than they will I think, as if you consultants a few months is no time at all when we feel like it's wayyy too long!!!

I'm trying to distract myself currently in Tww (only 3dpo...) I had my baseline scan all good and weirdly last month was 28 day cycle when I'd been super short like 21/22 days which is the problem. Obviously last cycle didn't result in anything though! Trying not to get to hopeful as baseline scan was perfect, we DTD 2 days before and 1 day before Ov so perfect timing... and surely all these stacks of vitamins must be doing something to balance out my hormones...?!
I feel a bit more balanced if that's even possible haha 😆

Fingers crossed your process speeds up or at least the wait passes quickly!

X

Dbop100 · 09/12/2020 22:19

@notyetamumbuttrying ah the waiting never ends... just a thought, I don't know if they'll allow this at your clinic but I was allowed to do my AMH test before my first appt to save time and the needing to come back in for a 2nd results appt. Could always be worth calling up and asking if you could get the tests done whilst you wait so the results are ready for your appt? Mine didn't do the tests at the fertility department it was at the general blood test department in the same hospital so I could go in whenever.

Update from me, turns out I am allowed to do my 2nd IUI this month, providing I ovulate before 23rd (which should just about be possible) so back on the Clomid from tonight and giving it one last shot for this year 🥳 It's bound to be a horrible let down but at least this means I can start IVF sooner next year?!

notyetamumbuttrying · 09/12/2020 22:24

@lamby12 gosh such a mission isn't it! Here's hoping hun! X
@Dbop100 she seemed to think we'd get results there and then. Well for Dh's SA anyway, not sure on my amh. Will give them a call this week and see if they'll tell me anything. Best of luck with the last shot of iui! You might end up doing ivf with me if it doesn't work. Hope it does work of course! 🤞🏾

lamby12 · 13/12/2020 14:45

Hope everyone is doing ok - anyone else still in TWW? I've felt very weird this week, started having to rush to the toilet for #2s Weds, Thurs then had full blown bad stomach on Friday. I've had no temp, haven't eaten anything dodgy and I've actually felt fine in myself other than rushing to the toilet.
Other than feeling rubbish because all I've eaten is toast I don't feel poorly, but still got the runs on and off and not much appetite. Let's hope it's weird pregnancy symptoms Hmm I'd take the runs any day to get a BFP right now!

I'm 7/8dpo today (not sure if I Ov last sat or Sunday) and I am going to test probably Tuesday and take it from there. I know it's early and I said I wouldn't do it again but last month I was a week late and got hopes up. Don't want hopes up around Christmas to fall down again, I'd rather see a BFN and move on than be depressed!

How's everyone else this cycle? X

notyetamumbuttrying · 13/12/2020 16:30

@lamby12 here's hoping it means pregnancy!! I'm 7dpo but doesn't really matter for me as chances are mega low! Hope you feel better soon and best of luck for Tuesday x

Dbop100 · 13/12/2020 17:34

@lamby12 oh sorry that doesn't sound like much fun, hope you're feeling better soon. Good luck on Tue let us know how it goes!

I'm CD 6 so just finishing my Clomid tonight, then a scan on Weds and start ovulation testing so we know exactly when next weekend we should do our 2nd IUI. Gonna be quite a busy week, so relieved to be Wfh whilst dealing with all of this and SO looking forward to finishing work for Xmas on Friday!

lamby12 · 13/12/2020 18:45

@notyetamumbuttrying thank you. Sorry your chances are low naturally. Mind you mine may be too, we are still in the testing phase and haven't confirmed the problem yet. But I might as well hope until then. However each month I then feel silly for hoping - as in obviously it isn't going to suddenly happen after all this time, whilst we're just in the early stages of fertility testing!

Thanks @Dbop100 how have you found cloned? They have mentioned that will be one of many future options depending on outcome. I've heard lots about side effects?
Sounds like you can have a steady week wfh, and everything crossed for you for your IUI!!! X

Dbop100 · 13/12/2020 19:00

@lamby12 I've personally found Clomid to be ok. The only side effects I've had are hot flushes (not so bad during winter, might be a awful in summer) and being a little more hungry than normal. But I take it just before bed so I sleep through the worst of it. It's worth it though because I tend to get a good response and get more mature follicles than without x

notyetamumbuttrying · 14/12/2020 10:03

@lamby12 thank you too. It could do though if both of you have been improving your lifestyle, that's supposed to make a difference. Have you not had an SA done yet? Have you had your scan?
@Dbop100 good luck for your busy week! Hope all works out for you 🤞🏾
I'm on my way to a funeral today. Dh's grandma, she made it to 100!

lamby12 · 14/12/2020 16:41

Hi @notyetamumbuttrying we haven't had SA yet. The consultant felt it more sensible to explore me first given I have 21 day cycles, extreme periods, endometriosis, low progesterone... so testing me to hopefully pinpoint the best way forward. She said we could do SA but as we're paying her advice was to get my tests back first and take it from there.
My scan was on 3rd Dec, apparently a perfect womb lining and uterus, a perfect 17mm egg ready to go she told me I would ovulate within the next couple of days. We DTD the two days following and I had EWCM which then stopped on Sunday. I didn't opk but I think I ov'd on the Saturday 5th.
So all of the above is feeding into some subconscious hope that this is the month. Spend the last 30mins debating whether to get a test before shops shut today.
I'm hoping I'm indecisive for long enough that it's too late Hmm
I am going to test in the next few days because I really don't want to torture myself this month and get my hopes up if I'm not. However, trying to be a little more patient as I'm only 9dpo so chances of a BFP even if it is are low... if I go too early I'll only want to carry on testing. Might buy a test tomorrow to do Wednesday AM, so that's a whole 2 days later. Need to not let my mind get carried away in the meantime. X

notyetamumbuttrying · 14/12/2020 18:11

@lamby12 I see! Well best of luck with everything, keep us posted x

lamby12 · 15/12/2020 08:58

Omg it's a positive it's actually a positive test! It's a faint second line but it's a 100% there second line not imagined by crazy positions of light! I'd upload a picture if I knew how.
Still got diarreah... but hooray for diarreah right now...?!
Ok so I'm tentatively excited and still trying to phone OH as he's a work, but even though I need to not get too excited and can be happy in this one tiny moment right?!?
Will text again tomorrow AM to make sure this isn't a horrible trick.

lamby12 · 15/12/2020 09:01

Worked out how to do photo. Everything single thing crossed this is not a false positive and also that it sticks 😬

6 months plus ttc (continuation of 6/7 months ttc) all welcome
Dbop100 · 15/12/2020 09:40

@lamby12 OMG OMG that's defo a positive! Congratulations what amazing news! Can't believe we have a positive test on this thread! I totally get wanting to be tentative but I think you can allow yourself be happy for at least getting this far after so long. And your quite early right how many Dpo was it? That's amazing, so pleased for you xx

lamby12 · 15/12/2020 10:23

Thanks @Dbop100 I can't believe it either. It's the first time I actually waited the time on a test. It's a Morrisons own so I feel a little edgy it could be a cheapo and false positive but they didn't have any FR and CB are so expensive. I'm going to do the second Morrisons tomorrow am and get a CB digital either today or tomorrow to confirm. But I know CBd are less sensitive so don't want to go to early with it
Everything everything crossed!!
I think I ovd on sat so I'm 10dpo!
X

DollyMixtureStocking · 15/12/2020 10:29

I’d like to join this thread please! 8 months TTC here x

lamby12 · 15/12/2020 11:28

@Dbop100 I did the second Morrisons test (as if I could wait) and it is also positive. Slightly fainter, I've had two cups of tea. But positive again. Surely I couldn't have two false positives, I just can't believe it though.

lamby12 · 15/12/2020 11:29

Welcome @DollyMixtureStocking

Dbop100 · 15/12/2020 11:38

@lamby12 yes I've heard it's quite unlikely to get a false positive. Must be so surreal, remind me, is this your first positive ever and how many months we're you trying again?
I'd personally stick to only testing with FRER up until at least 14dpo, if your planning to test again, defo don't do a clear blue digital before then as they're not very sensitive and you don't want to stress yourself out if it doesn't show up. But you don't really need to test again unless you want to!

Hi @DollyMixtureStocking sorry you've caught us right at our first BFP in months so we're all a bit excited!

lamby12 · 15/12/2020 11:44

Thanks @Dbop100 yes I've read false positives are so rare.

So I've had a chemical in the summer and it was a few days after the positives so I feel a little scared of same again - another possible chemical that was all a-bit unsure (in Feb). This is the first time
I've had two definite positives straight away before any BFNs.

Thanks for the tip on tests, I never like CBd and I've never had a positive one. I'll stick to FREr when I can get one tomorrow. X

Dbop100 · 15/12/2020 11:58

@lamby12 ah yes I had a chemical a week after my positive in June, I'm sorry to hear you had one too. I'm sure I would also feel nervous if I were to get a BFP, it's just natural. But just because it happened before doesn't necessarily mean it will happen again. Just take it a day at a time X
