@notyetamumbuttrying unfortunately not it never happened for them they were told they had unexplained infertility and she ended up suffering from two ectopics lost both her Fallopian tubes and they ran out of embryos after multiple failed IVF’s. Totally horrific. They’ve just adopted an 18 month old boy and they’re totally in love so it was a happy ending of sorts.

@Crayon7 just read your comment your I’m so sorry to hear you’re going through that :(

notyetamumbuttrying · 15/10/2020 17:26

@Crayon7 ahh I'm so sorry! Are you going for investigations soon? Sorry, can't remember if you already started.

@Tinkertailor88 wow wee what an ordeal! So glad they ended up getting their son!

I'm cd10 today and usually get my peak by now and ov cd11 but been taking Soya this cycle and it's done the trick in delaying ov! Just hope I don't get a backlash from it like I did the agnus! That then made my LP shorter 🤦🏾‍♀️ it was always 14 days and then it went down to 12!! It's only just got bk to normal (first took agnus in June!) so praying I've not messed up my cycle again, time will tell! Decided I'd have a glass of red today as well, as I've had a stressful day and Dh's working late. Hope everyone's ok x

Crayon7 · 15/10/2020 21:01

@notyetamumbuttrying yeah we started but everything takes a while

notyetamumbuttrying · 15/10/2020 21:13

Yeah it really does! @Crayon7 hope everything goes well! Keep us posted x

Jungle25 · 21/10/2020 22:32

Hello

Just wondering if anyone can help
I have been told after an ultrasound that my right ovary has higher testosterone levels than should be...?? The dcr said a good healthy diet and regular exercise and it should sort itself out in 2 cycles...he also said my blood flow wasnt normal for my day of cycle..
I know its positive...ans hopeful but I had a miscarriage earlier this year and he said having high testosterone could have been the reason I miscarried....is it totally impossible to get pregnant again until it's gone back to normal...I now feeling like I'm setting myself up for failure trying now!!

If anyone has had it and can help me understand it more I'd be so grateful xxx

notyetamumbuttrying · 22/10/2020 18:50

@Jungle25 sorry, I can't help on this but hopefully someone can. I hope you get to talk dr soon as well! X

lamby12 · 25/10/2020 09:23

Hi ladies. How is everyone doing?

I'm on AF right now so a bit down; thought this month might be the month and my SIL has just announced pregnancy.

I've been doing the diet to boost progesterone but hasn't impacted anything yet. My cycles are getting shorter (22 days this time) and now tracking Ov again luetal phase was only 8 days. Also getting such bad pms and mood swings so the low progesterone feels worse than ever.

Has anyone tried Agnus Castus? Thinking of trying it but I'm always wary of taking anything at all!

X

notyetamumbuttrying · 25/10/2020 10:31

@lamby12 hey! Ok thanks. I've tried it, it does do you what you need. I wanted it to delay ov which it did by 2 days but it did shorten my LP by 2 days as well! It also calmed my pms and lightened my flow. I took it cd1 until peak opk. Used it for two cycles, now I ov one day later so seems to have had a lasting effect. I've heard it's best for those with irregular cycles as it sorts hormone imbalances so it could be really good for you. My cycle is always regular so I probably shouldn't have used it but that was back when I didn't know what our issue was (it's male factor) and would try anything new! Good luck!

Aokbaby · 25/10/2020 12:42

Hi @lamby12 have you tried taking 50mg of b6? It lengthened me leutal phase considerably!!

lamby12 · 25/10/2020 12:51

Hi @notyetamumbuttrying thanks for the response. That's interesting that it shortened your leutal phase as that's exactly what I don't want to do. I've read that Agnus Castus can be good for short leutal phase sometimes but information is so conflicting.

@Aokbaby thanks for that - I'll look into b6 too.

I'm also going to start taking vitamin e and c. I've read about some studies where these can increase progesterone when taken together daily. I looked at my seven seas TTC multivitamin and it doesn't actually contain either. I had just assumed it did!

X

notyetamumbuttrying · 25/10/2020 18:32

@lamby12 I've also heard it's good for that too so I'm sure it will. I never had a hormonal imbalance so I shouldn't have taken them. I'm sure if you do it'll do what you want. There's an agnus castus thread on here, do a search for it and you'll read about others who've used it for lengthening LP.

lamby12 · 26/10/2020 06:27

Thanks @notyetamumbuttrying I've had a look at the thread and decided against it again for the moment. Or maybe I'll try the 4mg tablets from Holland and Barrett rather than the 100mg off Amazon hahaHmm
I keep reading that they can really make things go mental hormone wise so a bit apprehensive, and the horror stories of them stopping peoples Ov completely then taking months to get back. I think they can just have very different effects on different people.
I've got some better mitivits to take with more in plus extra vit C. Not sure that's going to make a difference. We really need to go private but can't afford it at the moment. X

notyetamumbuttrying · 26/10/2020 07:33

@lamby12 I bought extra strength ones thinking they'd be the best so was taking 2200mg a day!! 😱 only realised after taking them for 2 cycles that it should have been 400mg, I can be very ditsy at times! So I feel like if I'd done the normal amount from the beginning it might not have had such an extreme effect but who knows, lesson learnt anyway! We're going private, just waiting for Dh to have his second SA before taking the plunge in dec. it eats into our house moving money but so be it. Good luck on the new multivits, hope they do the trick for you x

lamby12 · 06/11/2020 13:53

Hi ladies how is everyone doing?

I'm having a really rubbish few days and felt like I needed to post. It feels like everyone around me is suddenly pregnant even a few surprises, all due at the same time (just announced) and those that know each other celebrating on WhatsApp groups etc how they are going to have each other to go through it with.

I've had to just put an obligatory congratulations then dip out of looking to cry my eyes out! It's really put me in a down place. We've got our first private appointment in December and I had a call from them today to say they had a cancellation for Monday. After much back and forth with OH he says he can't get the time off work for the video call, or change his days. I know he could if he really wanted to, as he is the boss! It's just inconvenient because there's meetings on Mondays. I feel like he has idea how much this means to me as if he did then he would move heaven and earth for the appointment rather than just not see it as convenient. He thinks I'm just being immature to be annoyed and 4 weeks to wait for the planned appointment is no biggie. I literally cried for ages after I rang the receptionist to tell her we couldn't take the cancellation. Is that irrational? Probably. I just feel like with lockdown etc 4 weeks is an eternity Sad

notyetamumbuttrying · 06/11/2020 14:51

@lamby12 I really feel for you! I would be fuming if he didn't change it. Does he not see how much you're hurting cos of this? Mines being equally annoying too and won't book his second SA until he's had his testes scan next week. He also hasn't called to get his blood test results, very frustrating!!

Dbop100 · 06/11/2020 19:47

@lamby12 I'm so sorry I would have felt exactly the same having to turn down that appointment. It's so hard when you've already been waiting so long! My husband was kind of in denial about our situation and wasn't taking it as seriously as me, I think as it's happening to our bodies it's impossible for us to stop thinking about it so we're further ahead with thinking about things. It took a while but he understands our situation now and is on board, maybe yours just doesn't want to admit to himself there might be something wrong?

It's also such a hard time of year and being in lockdown again makes me feel even more like nothing is moving forward. Had a really bad week last week as I was due to do my first IUI but had to cancel it because we got Covid. Gutted to have to put it off another month!

lamby12 · 06/11/2020 21:39

Thanks for the replies @notyetamumbuttrying and @Dbop100

Sorry your OH are being slow/in denial too! So we ended up really having it out because the clinic rang back and the consultant was making herself available in the evening for us as another option, and OH still said it wasn't convenient so I had total meltdown about how he didn't want this as much as me, didn't understand where I was with it etc. He was totally flabbergasted said he had no idea I was in such a desperate place about it (pretty sure I never stop telling him...)
Anyway I think maybe I just assume because it's on my mind all the time it's either on his too, or he knows it's on my mind... turns out he wasn't getting how much it impacts me at all. Says he can't handle it when I get upset about it and thinks I'm high irrational to be upset about friends being pregnant.
I know it is slightly; but I also know it's totally normal because everyone on here gets upset about pregnant friends too!

Anyway, it helped bring things to the surface a bit and I think we are more ready to go through this as he understands now that I'm deeply upset about the whole thing rather than just 'annoyed we can't get pregnant' and I understand that me being slightly manic depressive about it is rubbing off on him and making everything unenjoyable. So I need to try and reign it in a bit...
Anyway we've got the evening appointment for Monday.

@Dbop100 so sorry to hear your IUI got cancelled, that's so disappointing. Let's wish time away so next month comes quicker!

X

notyetamumbuttrying · 06/11/2020 22:05

@lamby12 so glad you had it out with him and that you have the appointment on Monday! I think I need to do the same in regards to him chasing his blood test results and booking the second sa. Annoying thing is, I'm fertile and we need to do it this weekend and he won't if I've just cried and bared my soul...needs to wait until weds once I've ov'd.
@Dbop100 sorry to hear about your cancelled iui hun x

Dbop100 · 06/11/2020 22:20

So good that you were honest with him @lamby12 ttc and fertility issues are some of the hardest things you can go through as a couple so keeping clear communication is vital. I bet once he's actually heard it from a doctor he takes it more seriously, mine wouldn't hear it from me 🙄, so glad you got your appointment- fingers crossed you get some good advice, let us know how it goes.

@notyetamumbuttrying oh how frustrating, sounds like you have a sensible plan though, get on it this weekend and then give him a kick up the arse! Tbh I end up doing all the admin for my husband or it doesn't get done, even if it means me sitting next to him, dialling the number myself - such a awful gender cliche but I don't have time to waste! Good luck!

notyetamumbuttrying · 07/11/2020 16:36

@Dbop100 I called up for him to get the first appointment and handed the phone over when they answered. I also told him to call the docs bk and ask to speak to a different one when we got a crap response to his results. He wants to wait this time round as he has a scan on his testes on the 10th so in his mind he wants the results of that before booking a SA. What he doesn't seem to get is how long things take. It was relatively quick first time, but doesn't mean it'll work like that second time round. I'll be saying all this to him again next week, and will revert bk to ringing for him and handing the phone over. V frustrating when you have to baby your own husband! Anywho...we had a fun sex sesh this morning so that's at least once in FW. Think I'll ov on Tuesday so will try it again Monday.

Hayleywoody82 · 09/11/2020 09:45

Hi all.

I've not been on here for a long time but thought I would update.

So I can off the pill June this year. We dtd everytime I was ovulating. In August I decided to stop tracking as it was taking over my life.
Since then we haven't dtd even half as much.
Yesterday I was due on my period. In the morning I had awful cramps so was awaiting AF . In the afternoon something told me to test although I was 90% i wasn't pregnant as we had hardly dtd. Much to my shock it pinged up positive straight away. I'm still in shock. I will only be 4 weeks. I'm so nervous. I have 3 children. 11, 13 and 18. I've had 4 miscarriages. This is my first pregnancy in 11 years.
I'm trying to not think about it to much till after Xmas then I will be past the 12 week mark but its so hard.
I'm 38 so who knows. 🤞🤞

@Hayleywoody82 congratulations 🥳 wonderful news!!

Hayleywoody82 · 09/11/2020 12:56

@notyetamumbuttrying thank you. Not sunk in yet. Just hoping for a sticky bean xx

Dbop100 · 09/11/2020 14:36

@Hayleywoody82 congratulations, so nice to finally have a BFP on this thread! Keeping everything crossed for you Xx

lamby12 · 10/11/2020 11:20

@Hayleywoody82 congratulations always so lovely to see a BFP. I have everything crossed for you.

@Dbop100 @notyetamumbuttrying I know what you mean about driving everything. We had our virtual 1st consultation last night and OH just sat there with a scowl and gave one word answers when asked direct questions. I think it's a man thing and also understandably all very awkward but it was as if he was there under duress!

Initial appointment was good but the cost makes me feel a bit queasy. She thinks deffo a problem with me and hormones given cycle history and length, definite short leutal phase. She seemed confident that it would be most likely treated with pills so not immediately thinking the most costly route but still need to have more bloods and another scan before next appointment - so £500+ there already Confused
OH is keen to do an SA even though she said she didn't need it at the moment because she wants to direct our money to the most likely diagnosis. He wasn't interested when I wanted them to do it via GP (though now they are not offering SA because of COVID...) and now he wants it when its £120 private?! Trying to persuade him we should leave it for now.

One thing the consultant did say straight away was take vitamin D the oral spray, 3000iu every day. She said the most important for fertility and pregnancy and we should all take anyway because helps against COVID and we're all vit D deficient in UK. Just thought that was useful to share. I've ordered it off amazon about £5. X
