First month of ttc

Hey girls... thought I'd make a new post I'm struggling to find new ones 😂 I'm 28 nearly 29 and my other half is also the same age! I'm currently on my period and this is the month we have decided to start trying! I'm so excited but also do not want to get my Hope's up as I know it can be a very long journey to get that BFP! Anyone else trying this month? I'm looking to get ovulation sticks to increase my chances xxx

Thinking of symptom spotting, one thing that did really change for me in the last week is insomnia. I just cannot stay asleep! Not every night, but my goodness, it's a pain. Never had this problem before, in fact sleeping was always one thing I was very good at. Don't know whether it has anything to do with TTC though.

Thanks elley! And @Mc3209 when are you testing? My other half isnt well today I'm going to be so pissed off if we miss my main day to try! Just my luck :( but done it last night so hopefully that would be enough fingers crossed xxx

@abby25 same happened to us but we missed two good days haha. I had a really bad migraine and then my husband wasn't well the next day!

Ahhh just our luck 😫😫😫 waited for ovulation then this happens Haha! Looks like il have to wait till next month now I'm pretty sure I wont be pregnant :( xxx

Good luck to you OP! And all the other ladies on the thread! I'm 37 and have been trying for around a year and a half. However around 10 months ago, I got a diagnosis, well a suspected diagnosis anyway, of endometriosis.

Last month, I had a laparoscopy and hysteroscopy and an official diagnosis of endometriosis was given. Some adhesions were removed along with uterine polyps. I also got dye through my tubes and the doctor said that while it didn't go through either tube, he thinks that yes, one is damaged/blocked, but he thinks that the other one is fine and that it was just in spasm. So this will be the first month of trying now that some of my issues have been dealt with. Fingers crossed for us all.

@abby25 I am testing on Thursday 20th. If I can wait that long that is Otherwise I promised myself not to test until Monday 17th at the earliest..

@Elley2912 @abby25 Spermies living up to 5 days and all that, I don't think a day or two will make a huge dent in the efforts.

Ah fingers crossed for you all! Yea I know spermies can live up to 5 days I just have a feeling we didnt do it enough:( not going to bother testing unless I'm late I got a really bad feeling I've fucked up this month lol xxx

My app predicted ovulation for yesterday but I've noticed my test today has started to get darker! Maybe it's just later than my app thought! I had lost hope for this month but maybe I'm still in the game! Bodies are a mystery! @mc3209 how many DPO will 17th/20th be for you to test?

@Elley2912 20th will be my 14DPO (my AF due day). I kinda gave up with OPKs half way through, as I was finding I was becoming a bit too obsessed with it. I have regular cycles and we have been DTD every 2 days just before my fertile window and daily during. I don't think I can handle more frequent sex than that Will continue with DTD every 2 days just for the fun of it (and in case ovulation runs late).

Ah fingers crossed @Elley2912 you may still have a chance this month! My app predicted the 13th for ovulation so I was 3-4 days earlier! Ah so exciting @Mc3209 bet you cant wait to test! I'm due on 28th xxx

Girlies, what are you doing with alcohol and caffeine? I am staying off alcohol during 2WW, but I will shrivel up without coffee. I can't quite give up my 3 cups of black americano per day before I even get a positive test. I guess once I am pregnant I will swap that to decaf and somehow manage, but whilst TTC I am thinking of just carrying on..
What are your thoughts?

@mc3209 I really don't know how I'm going to cope. I was just thinking about that this morning because of my positive OPK yesterday. I usually have 3/4 cups a day! I'm thinking about trying my best to cut down to one. Staying off alcohol as I don't drink it that often often often anyway! One of my friends totally went off coffee when she got pregnant. Couldn't even stand the smell of it. Hoping that happens to me haha.

I have 2 coffees a day! I'm still having them I dont think I can not have it 😂😂 alcohol I only have like the odd glass of wine here and there il stop once I'm pregnant but for now I need it for the stress Haha xxx

Ah girls I'm 2 days past ovulation and I'm already impatient how am I going t survive 2 weeks 😫😫😫 I'm pretty sure I'm not going to be this month but doesnt stop me wanting to do a pregnancy test every day hahah xxx

@abby25 I already ordered some FRERs from Amazon. Just so they are ready and waiting for next week.

I'm excited to hear your results! I don't know what's going on. I've been getting strong positive ovulation tests for over 24hrs now. Is that normal? I thought it was only a short time! We DTD last night and tonight as well. Not sure if my poor husband will survive another night tomorrow hahaha.

I'm going to buy tests nearer the time otherwise il start doing them tomorrow Haha and my ovulation tests showed two strong positives over 2 days so think it's normal havent got any left to check it ow but guessing mines over ..... I've been watching YouTube videos of women testing from 8dpo! Some got positives xxx

I might start testing from 10dpo I'm pretty sure it's going to be negative so trying to not get my hopes up but I will still be a test addict lol xxx

@Mc3209 I've swapped to decaf in the afternoons and still having my filter coffee in the mornings - not sure I can give that up!

In other words - thought I'd join you girls as this is our first month TTC as well. OH only really committed to trying "properly" tonight (I think he was just wanting us to carry on as normal before and if it happened, it happened). I managed to convince him to DTD today and on Sunday and I think my OD was yday (my app thinks it's today though) as I did a cheapy OPK on Mon that showed a surge. Not the best of odds but my TWW will still be torturous!

@juno231 good luck! Me and my OH started off thinking we would just see what happened for a few months but as the days have gone by this month we both realised we really want it to happen more than we thought!

Hi! It's my third month of being off the pill but our first proper month of trying with OPK ICs etc.

My Flo app thinks I ovulated one day due to BBT chart but my sticks told another story. So I either ovulated on CD16, 17 or 19! The last couple of months off the pill I've had a 26 day cycle and AF was due Monday but still nothing other than a bit of spotting this morning.

I've done about 5 tests so far this week, all negative so I was all ready to jump on the March bus.... now I've convinced myself the spotting is implantation bleeding so this evening I raced to make something for a pregnancy announcement to my hubby. Without getting a BFP hah!

I'm going to test again tomorrow but my hopes are far too high!

@Mc3209 I'm off alcohol completely during the TWW and thankfully I don't like coffee unless it's the Irish kind!

I have joined because I am currently in the 2WW and I am STRUGGLING. I'm trying to hold off on doing a test until Monday but it's so hard to distract yourself. We tried properly and tracked ovulation but I've had no symptoms yet other than slight cramping so not holding too much hope!

Can I join? 👋🏻 had my copper coil taken out on Monday, and going to give this TTC a bash. My cycle is super irregular so we’re just going to go for it and hope for the best 😂 fingers crossed eh!
I’m 26, nearly, DH is 27, got married last summer. Probably left it longer than I should’ve, ive health conditions and chronic illnesses which meant the doctors were telling me probably four or five years ago to crack on if I wanted kids but I wanted the timing to be right... let’s hope it is now!

@TFC90 how many DPO are you now?

@parksb I'm starting my TWW today or tomorrow I think. I know I'll be crazy by the end of it!
