Anyone in the same boat? I'm 33 and from next week DH and I will be actively trying for #1. I'm excited, nervous, trying to be chill about it all but also imagining myself with a bump celebrating Xmas this year Grin

I started taking SS 'trying for a baby' supplements 4 weeks ago, not sure if it was their effects or not but this month my cycle was 20 days. Otherwise i'm 27 days always. Anyways, let's see what happens.

Hoping to find some pals in a similar place at the moment on here!

@Wakemeupwithcoffee I've been using the One Step ovulation tests - bought them from amazon.

dropthemic · 31/07/2019 07:45

@goodnightsugarpop Congratulations! That's amazing news. You must be so excited.
I'm experiencing some spotting too. Fingers crossed its not AF sending troops ahead to warn of her arrival and its an implantation bleed.

Wakemeupwithcoffee · 31/07/2019 07:45

@goodnightsugarpop that’s amazing congratulations!!

@Wearenotyourkind do they come in discreet packaging?! Wouldn’t want the neighbours to see! 😆

Wakemeupwithcoffee · 31/07/2019 07:55

@dropthemic good luck!

mrsrob90 · 31/07/2019 08:14

congratulations @goodnightsugarpop 😍 amazing news. I got pregnant first cycle with my first and I could hardly believe it! such an amazing feeling getting your bfp!

No symptoms really at all here 😑 I didn't spot or get implantation bleed with my first but just have a bad feeling and just feel too normal so not feeling positive 😔

Wearenotyourkind · 31/07/2019 08:16

@Wakemeupwithcoffee yes they do!!! 😂 I bought the One Step pregnancy tests too. Apparently they are the same ones supplied to the NHS.

Harty89 · 31/07/2019 09:18

@goodnightsugarpop Congratulations! That’s such wonderful news, keep us all up to date with your journey !

TurquoiseKiss · 31/07/2019 09:57

WOW sugarpop how fantastic! So happy for you. You must be over the moon! What's next from here? Midwife checking in appointment? Keep us posted!

Bettyblue1 sounds like we may have a very similar fertile window this month. I'm going to start using OPKs as soon as I see no trace of AF as with these new short cycles I must ovulate much earlier than I did before. If I was having longer cycles, like I did up until recently, I'd be a bit looser and just wait to see/feel the obvious ovulation signs. Good luck to you though! There's plenty of success stories of people DTD once on day of ovulation.

On a separate note, since coming off my everyday multivitamin (taken them for years, Boots own range with added iron - in the red tub) and replacing them with pre-conception ones I'm convinced I feel a lot more fatigued. Also, can't help but think as soon as I swapped these I'm now getting periods every 20 days. Kind of want to go back on them and just take a folic acid supplement in addition, but I know a build up of Vitamin A is to be avoided... any thoughts? Could I do this until I get a BFP and then immediately go on to more suitable ones without Vitamin A? Sorry, I know I always moan when people as questions on Mumsnet that a medical professional would be best placed to answer! But, if any of you happen to be a medical professional, or had to seek advice about this too, let me know!

@TurquoiseKiss I'm not sure. Personally I wouldn't because I'm such a worrier and overthinker, any benefits from the Vitamin A would be cancelled out by my worrying.
Maybe try having zinc with your folic acid tablets. I think that they are good for fatigue. However I know that's just my personality and its not the healthiest approach to take!
Unfortunately AF has arrived. After 6years of an absence she is back with a vengeance. In agony in work today. Heyho, maybe next cycle we will be lucky. I'm happy in a way as at least it means my cycle is getting back on track

Bettyblue1 · 31/07/2019 13:59

@goodnightsugarpop OMG, amazing news for you!! I'm sure your over the moon!! @TurquoiseKiss, my opk arrived in post today, so gonna get on the ball with them, hopefully they do what it says on the tin!! In relation to the pre conception vitaims, I'm sorry I have never taken them so have no personal experience with them. I'm sure there maybe other threads about them on mumsnet tho. If you supect they are giving you periods every 20 days I would say stop taking them. Perhaps speak to a doc or even your pharmacist. Every womans different so the pre conception vits may just not be right for you. Good luck!!

goodnightsugarpop · 31/07/2019 18:58

thank you so much for the congratulations all 😁 the tiredness & mood swings have definitely kicked in but I'm feeling really happy!

I actually had a doctors appointment on monday anyway for something unrelated so I told him I'd had a positive test and he's referred me to the local hospital, they're going to contact me with a first midwife appointment date but it probably won't be for another 3 weeks.

Wakemeupwithcoffee · 31/07/2019 19:01

@dropthemic sorry to hear but like you said maybe getting back on track. I bought some ovulation sticks in boots today and was negative although apparently you’re not meant to wee for 4 hours before hand ?! Not sure I can manage that it was only 2 hours! App says I’ll be fertile in 2 days eek!

Positivity2019 · 31/07/2019 21:16

@goodnightsugarpop Congratulations!!! What wonderful news!!!

Positivity2019 · 31/07/2019 22:06

I don’t know that I’ve never been so happy to welcome AF for the month, but it’s here today and finally that ends the 40 day cycle I’ve been in. Hoping that will see my cycles settle down into my usual 28 day cycles or perhaps a BFP soon.
@dropthemic I hope yours isn’t too bad over the next few days though I’m feeling your pain just now.

WLW9 · 31/07/2019 22:48

Hi all, first time poster on here and hope you don’t mind me joining you!
I’m 30, married a year and a bit, started our TTC journey in July too! We had been planning to wait until next year but we moved into a new place at the beginning of the month and suddenly the time just felt right.

I came off the combined pill on July 7th and have been using Ovia which told me to do an ovulation test last week which was by some miracle positive, even though I obviously haven’t had a proper AF yet since coming off the pill. So I’m planning on doing a test at the weekend - Ovia has told me to wait until Saturday so I’m doing as I’m told! It’s scary how quickly I’ve got into this vortex of interpreting every momentary feeling as a potential symptom!

Good luck to all of you, hope you’re all well!

Wearenotyourkind · 01/08/2019 06:57

Welcome @WLW9 yes it is so hard not to become obsessed with symptom spotting! Good luck!

Absa · 01/08/2019 07:37

Going to start using testing sticks this evening / tomorrow as app reckons my fertile window starts tomorrow. Have just realised that if we don't conceive soon, I'll be a very pregnant bridesmaid next year 😫! So fingers crossed for this month or next month for me!!

Absa · 01/08/2019 07:39

@Positivity2019 glad AF arrived for you so you can move on!

Absa · 01/08/2019 07:45

@TurquoiseKiss and @Bettyblue1 I'm wondering if i ovulate much earlier than I used to think as well, hence testing kit this month. Let see what they say!

Wakemeupwithcoffee · 01/08/2019 18:26

@Absa my app also says my window starts tomorrow so sounds like we’re the same this month! We DTD this morning but that was probably too early 😆 did another ovulation test today (managed to not wee for 2.5 hours this time!) but negative don’t think I’ve ovulated yet.

Absa · 01/08/2019 18:32

@Wakemeupwithcoffee yes just did my first test and no positive for me either as yet. Maybe over the weekend!

Absa · 01/08/2019 18:36

@Wakemeupwithcoffee I don't have a problem with holding it.... just got home from work and realised I'd not been since 11am! I drink for England so must have a bladder the size of a elephant!

Wakemeupwithcoffee · 01/08/2019 18:49

Ha ha! I have a weak bladder I think 🙈

Wakemeupwithcoffee · 01/08/2019 20:15

@WLW9 good luck not long to wait!

Wearenotyourkind · 01/08/2019 20:49

I'm starting to get frustrated now at the lack of progress. I've been off the pill for 4 weeks no and still not sign of a bleed. Never thought I'd be wishing for a period!
