Anyone starting their TTC journey in July 2019?

Anyone in the same boat? I'm 33 and from next week DH and I will be actively trying for #1. I'm excited, nervous, trying to be chill about it all but also imagining myself with a bump celebrating Xmas this year

I started taking SS 'trying for a baby' supplements 4 weeks ago, not sure if it was their effects or not but this month my cycle was 20 days. Otherwise i'm 27 days always. Anyways, let's see what happens.

@Wearenotyourkind that must be frustrating for you. I have faith it will happen for you soon. Are you having any period symptoms? When I went two weeks over my typical cycle during my first period after the pill I was feeling so symptomatic, cramps, nausea and tired.

I had a BFN on Saturday when Ovia told me to test, then AF came yesterday so back to square one! Trying to focus on the positive and looking forward to the next window!

So today I got this 😮 AF due Friday! according to ovia I'm 10dpo...cant believe it! fingers crossed this little one sticks

@Wearenotyourkind do you know how long it normally takes for AF to come back once you come off the pill? Like what the average is?

So I had my positive OPK Sunday and we got busy Thursday morning Saturday morning and Monday morning do you think that’s covered it this month??

@Wakemeupwithcoffee from what I've read, it seems to vary massively for each individual, which isn't v helpful! Good luck for this month!

Hey all, amazing news for you @Nearlyusnai and @mrsrob90. I'm sure you are both over the moon!! I'm in my fertile window according to ovia and my symptoms are as usual on time. This is my first month of using opk sticks. Had a postive yesterday dtd last night. I was hoping to not turn into a mentally deranged obsessive shagger this month and try to just be cool dtd in time for ovulation. I cant help but feel I may have been too early. All these bfp's are amazing ladies, keep em coming!!

Hi ladies

I'm not yet ready to start TTC, but wondered if I could join? I want to start getting my body prepared first. I.e supplements etc.

I'm in a ss relationship, so need to go down the sperm donor route. I'm 35 and I'm not going to lie, we're starting this a little later than we wanted, but things got in the way. Life I guess.

Anyway, we're really not sure where to start.
How do we choose a donor? Cryobank or LSB? Do we try at home insemination or go down the clinic route?

I like the idea of trying at home first (hopefully first and last) but nervous about doing it wrong

Pre seed? No pre seed? ...

Would you buy in bulk in case it takes multiple attempts, which I know is the more likely scenario. Where do you store the sperm? Surely not in your normal freezer?!

So yes, quite clearly more than a little clueless, but would really appreciate any advice!

HUGE congratulations to all of you who have received BFP! This thread has been lovely to follow, although I know there's also been disappointments, so keeping everything crossed for all of you for the future.

What does everyone use for tracking cycle? I’ve bought some OPKs yet to have a positive result but I don’t have a regular cycle (came off the pill in May so still hoping it will even out soon if no BFP) and I’m not sure I 100% trust as only cheap of amazon!! I’ve got a few apps I’ve used clue for a while as a period tracker and I’ve started using the Ovia app but they’re both putting ovulation at different dates and ovia is saying I’m in the TWW currently but clue reckons I’ve got another week until ovulation! So who knows where I’m at! Going to continue DTD to cover all bases and maybe take a test in a week or so which coincides with my parents coming to live with us for a few months while they do renovations Not ideal but heigh ho!

@mojitoextrarum @goodnightsugarpop might be able to advise you on your questions?

I’ve signed up to the Ovia app but also got some boots OPKs. I thought I’d go all out as probably only give this a few months due to our age and age gap with number 2. I think I’m driving my OH a bit nuts with the scheduling we didn’t do this last time and got pregnant quickly but thinking it might not be so easy this time.

I presume once you get the positive OPK you don’t need to do it again the next day (another test)?

The Ovia app seems like you put your ovulation in the calendar but where do I put that? Day of positive OPK or the next day?? Anyone know?

@Harty89 I use an Ava bracelet and find it great and very easy. You sync your data to the app and get your predicted period and fertile window. The more cycles you use it the more accurate it gets. It is pricey though that's the only thing.

I got pregnant first time with donor sperm (just a few weeks ago, I'm 6 weeks today) but I found my donor on Pride Angel so I don't have any experience with clinics or buying sperm from cryos, sorry. There is a MN talk page called "donor conception/parenting" and there are women posting there regularly who are currently TTC, some with frozen sperm and some with donors by private arrangement.

I used pre-seed & I'd been taking pregnacare pre-conception tablets and also vitamin C and vegan omega-3 every day for 3 months, that's what my donor advised, he works in healthcare and is responsible for 3 other successful pregnancies so he knows his stuff! (omega 3 is good for fertility & pregnancy but the normal ones contain mercury from fish, which isn't good for a foetus)
