Anyone in the same boat? I'm 33 and from next week DH and I will be actively trying for #1. I'm excited, nervous, trying to be chill about it all but also imagining myself with a bump celebrating Xmas this year Grin

I started taking SS 'trying for a baby' supplements 4 weeks ago, not sure if it was their effects or not but this month my cycle was 20 days. Otherwise i'm 27 days always. Anyways, let's see what happens.

Hoping to find some pals in a similar place at the moment on here!

@Wearenotyourkind @Positivity2019 how are you two doing xx

Positivity2019 · 19/06/2020 13:06

Hiya @Missgoldilocks how are you doing? Did I read that right, you have to wait until Jan for a fertility appointment? Gosh that’s a long time. Where are you in your cycle just now?
I’m doing ok. I’ve an infection in one of my wounds so that’s slowing the healing. I’m feeling emotional all the time. However, we are so eager to start trying again as soon as possible. Waiting for one cycle and then we will evaluate if we can start trying after that.

Positivity2019 · 19/06/2020 13:06

Hope everyone else is doing fine ❤️

Missgoldilocks · 19/06/2020 13:59

@Positivity2019 yes, I have to wait till then. Absolutely mental isn't it. Anyway, I hope you heal soon and you can get some answers as to when you can start trying again ❤️. I'm 5dpo now, I don't feel much hope unfortunately, at about 1dpo I had a huge cry because it just feels like it'll never happen... But I'm okay now just getting on with it and wishing these 2 weeks away lol, I wake up in the morning trying to see if I feel different yet haha in hope. Xx

Wearenotyourkind · 22/06/2020 17:36

Hey @Missgoldilocks thanks for thinking of me. I've been really unwell with an infection in my uterus, but I'm coming out the other side of it now. I've stopped bleeding following the MC too and tomorrow is my date to take a pregnancy test to check it's negative. I think it's going to be the only time I'm hoping for a negative test! Where are you in your cycle now? You must be well into the TWW?

Sorry to hear you have an infection too @Positivity2019 can we please catch a fricking break?!?!?! Really hope you're on the mend now. What a difficult and emotional journey. Stay strong 💗

I tried all sorts to lengthen my LP @hwotsit. Nothing seemed to work. But once I've had my first AF post MC, I'll start taking Agnus Castus, night strength vitamin C and B6. I was also thinking of giving Soya Isoflavones a go as I ovulate quite late. I think I'll wait and see what my next few cycles are like first though.

Sending love to all 💕

Missgoldilocks · 22/06/2020 17:58

@Wearenotyourkind oh god! Sorry to hear that! Hoping you get the all clear soon! ❤️ Yes I'm 8dpo today but my af cramps have started right on time so not much hope for this cycle. I had weird pains yesterday like shooting pains in my ovaries going across my abdomen it kind of stopped me in my tracks but now I'm thinking it was nothing

Positivity2019 · 24/06/2020 19:08

Oh @Wearenotyourkind it feels like it’s all just coming at us. I hope your infection is getting better. It really does stall the healing process. I’m on a new round of antibiotics and an antibiotic cream and I think it’s looking much better now. I’m signed off work for four weeks so plenty time to recover and gather myself. I took a test this morning as I wanted to check if the hormone level had dropped and it was negative so I guess it’s either back to zero or near enough. It was a mixed feeling seeing that negative. Relieved that we will be able to try again soon and sad that it’s really gone even though I know it is.

@Missgoldilocks I’m keeping things crossed for you for this month. It’s so hard to keep getting knocked down every month. I have faith you’ll get your BFP❤️

Wearenotyourkind · 25/06/2020 14:39

@Positivity2019 was your surgery done laparoscopically? I had an explorative laparoscopy about 7 years ago and also got an infection in one of the wounds. I feel your pain. Are the second lot of antibiotics helping? I'm really glad you've been signed off work, so you have plenty of time to rest and recuperate. Please don't be afraid to request a further sick note if you don't feel 100% ready after the 4 weeks. I started back at work today. I spoke to my manager this morning and we agreed a phased return, so I'll just be working mornings for the rest of this week and next week. I took a pregnancy on Tuesday and was still positive, so agreed with the midwife to wait another week. She offered a scan straight away, but as I'm not bleeding and have no pain, I'm hoping it's nothing to worry about. She said it can just take a bit longer for some women.

So sorry to hear you've got cramps @Missgoldilocks. It's so fucking frustrating, isn't it ☹️ hang in there.

Hope everyone else is doing okay 💗

Positivity2019 · 26/06/2020 20:55

@Wearenotyourkind yes it was a laparoscopy. It is my umbilical wound that was infected. However, the second lot of meds are really doing the trick and it is cleared up I think. I’ll finished the course but it’s now healing really well and I’m no longer in pain from it. The right side wound feels so weird. I mean it’s healed fine but I can feel the way it goes all the way in and that’s obviously still healing.
How is your infection? Are you recovered on that front? I’m sorry your still getting a positive, that must be hard. Have you and your DP decided to start trying again soon?
I think that’s great your work is helping you return in a sympathetic way. I toyed with the thought that I could just go back but I’m so relieved to have the four weeks. My emotions are definitely all over the place that’s for sure, especially today. A friend of mine I used to work with announced a pregnancy today and is due in Jan which is when I was due. So that had me tearful most of the day. Take care of yourself ❤️

@Missgoldilocks how are you doing?

Missgoldilocks · 26/06/2020 21:50

@Positivity2019 glad to hear you're healing well. Not much to report here, I am pretty certain af will be here Sunday. I feel the most calm all year though, I had a massive cry to my partner on Tuesday I just let everything out all of the horrible things I was telling myself in my head and how unsupportive I feel he is. I mean, just that day I told him I'm about 98 percent sure af will be on time and he said "well life goes on" and you know it just really hurt me because this is very important to me. I know that he is the type of man that hides his emotions behind being gruff but in this situation it doesn't help.

Anyway, so I had a big cry and I just feel so much better I'm not even thinking about it because I've told myself it isn't happening this month. No obsessing, no google rabbit holes nothing just getting on with life and focusing on eating clean and getting loads of sunshine... It feels so much better!

We have also said that once af is here we will call up a private clinic and pay for a hycosy test to check my tubes, fingers crossed my tubes are open and the hycosy makes you more fertile for 3 months afterwards so bonus! I'm pretty scared though, people say it's quite painful so I'm wanting to put it off but I know I need to do it for peace of mind.
🙏❤️

Positivity2019 · 30/06/2020 10:39

@Missgoldilocks although it’s never nice to have it out with your partner I’m glad you’ve hashed things out and it has left you feeling better. Did AF come along? A Hycosy test sounds like a good idea. I hope it all goes well. I’d never heard of one but I’ve googled it now.

Missgoldilocks · 30/06/2020 11:35

@positivity2019 yes af came on Saturday, I'm just finishing off. Booking in the test for 9th July hopefully, just waiting to hear back from the clinic. Hope you're well x

jx0x0 · 30/06/2020 15:27

Hi everyone!

I hope you're all well. @Positivity2019 and @Wearenotyourkind I hope you are both healing ok now.

@Missgoldilocks - I had an HSG a few months ago. It's totally fine. A bit more uncomfortable than a smear but it's ok. They took a while to get the catheter in my cervix - mainly because I have some scar tissue there from a con biopsy I had to remove bad cells about 9 years ago. Even so it was totally fine. No need to worry or feel anxious.

I just got my static smiley on clear blue ovulation sticks so will be BDing today and next two days. We've done SMEP this month and I really like it actually. Nice to do one day on and off.

Any news from anyone else?

x

jx0x0 · 01/07/2020 11:41

ps. Also hello @hwotsit - sorry I didn't say hey earlier! I totally missed your post. I know how nerve wracking it is writing your first one. How are you getting along? I am also 34 and trying for number 1. X

@hwotsit Good luck today. I hope AF doesn't show! The three days in a row are the most important days so may be a winner! Let us know how you get on! I've stopped drinking for 3 months. Lockdown meant it was really easy to do without causing suspicion from friends / family who we haven't told. Not sure how I am going to navigate it now as I keep getting invited for picnics / bbqs and will be so obvious if I am not drinking. Can't work out if it's just better to be open with everyone? I hate to think of not having privacy but also it takes a lot of effort to avoid questions and not drinking subtly etc. I also don't like feeling like I am lying to people. Anyone got any thoughts?

@jx0x0 did you have a hycosy or hsg?? I know it's basically the same thing but they say they use oil for the hsg which is better than water because there's higher pregnancy rate after! But if you're still trying after it it's made me a bit meh about it lol I want it to make me more fertile! My friends mum couldn't get pregnant for years, git a HSG done and bam fell pregnant, apparently a couple of her friends too. I'll just be happy if both of my tubes are open so thanks for the advise x

jx0x0 · 02/07/2020 08:12

@hwotsit - Yes I do feel better no drinking. I feel like my body is at the healthiest it can be. I am eating lots of fruit and veg too. So much yummy fruit is now is season like peaches / nectarines and cherries etc so am digging in. If anything positive has happened from this long fertility journey it's that my general health is a lot better. Before I loved a drink and the occasional fag (when drinking.) Now my body is my temple for the first time ever! lol! How did you get on yesterday? Did AF stay away? I hope so. X

@Missgoldilocks - I went in for the oil HSG but because the 'cannulation of the cervix' was tricky they just used water based on. Honestly I think go for it. It's a bit uncomfy but totally fine. X

Hey 👋🏻

@Missgoldilocks sorry AF got you - my 1st AF after MC arrived at the weekend, so we are cycle buddies now. I'm glad you're able to progress with the procedure, even though you've had to go private. I really hope it brings good news for you.

How are you recovering now @Positivity2019?

Thanks for thinking of me @jx0x0. How's the SMEP going?

Belated happy birthday @hwotsit. I turn 35 in October and just admit I am really dreading it. I just know I'll be so upset if I'm not pregnant by then. Did AF arrive? Did you phone GP?

💗💗

Hey all hope you're all okay? I just got back from my hycosy test and my womb is fine and my tubes are clear :)

Wearenotyourkind · 09/07/2020 16:05

That's great need @Missgoldilocks! Hope it wasn't too painful? X
