Hi all,
New to this board ☺️
I’m 32 and myself and DH are trying for number 2 (we have an almost 3YO DD). We just had a chemical pregnancy - AF was due May 18th, already faint pregnancy test lines got fainter on May 19th and disappeared completely on 20th. Started bleeding May 20th and now on a very heavy AF.

We are emotionally ready to just got for it again, my question is have any of you positive experience of getting right after an early Chemical pregnancy and if so did you find you ovulated earlier/later.

For example, I ovulate exactly 14 days after my period starts. As my period was technically 3 days late, do I assume I will just ovulate 14 days after this bleed started? Or do I count 14 days after period was actually due?

Anyone who has just been through the same that wants to join me on this journey please do! X

Thank you @satsumasaturday @Larrydavid , that's reassuring @satsumasaturday, what's the age gap between you and your brother?

I haven't been able to read back all the way through, how far along are you @satsumasaturday? Sounds like your situation is similar to mine with the spotting. I've heard so many reassuring stories of people bleeding all through pregnancy but I just don't think I'm going to be one of them. Especially as a tiny bit of brown spotting was my only indication of something being wrong last time and I nearly didn't even go in for a scan as I'd been so reassured that it was common! I had a scan at about 6.5 weeks in the same pregnancy and they saw a heartbeat too. But it died at 9 weeks unfortunately.

Birchwoods · 17/07/2019 16:20

And what colour is your spotting @satsumasaturday? I'm having brown with occasional red it's such a worry.

satsumasaturday · 17/07/2019 18:38

I'm so sorry about your previous loss @Birchwoods that must have been such a terrible thing to go through.

The age gap between me and my brother is five years so we were never at the same stage growing up (schools etc) but I think that was nice too in a way because we were never in competition. He's far smarter than I am but then at each point that he was better than me at school I was at the next point (as in by the time he did gcses I was at uni by then so had forgotten gcses) so was just pleased he'd done well whereas I had friends who seemed to be always competing with their siblings.

My spotting is brown, and it has (tmi alert) little bits of something (not clots but not just fluid). I'm about 6.5 weeks. My last pregnancy ended around 4.5-5 weeks. That also began as brown spotting, turning to dark rusty red and then bright red. It was obvious to me when I'd lost it as i passed a big glob that I assumed was the sac. I'm trying to remain hopeful this as it hasn't turned red yet and seems to be not be getting heavier, but who knows what's going on in there. I've read lots of people who bleed and everything is fine, but equally lots where it goes the other way.

I've got my scan letter now so if my little bean can hold out until Monday I'll be getting scanned.

MummyMilla · 18/07/2019 09:13

Morning all!

@satsumasaturday I am so sorry to hear about the spotting. Do keep us posted and I hope that it eases off.

@Larrydavid damn that af! If mine turns up we can keep each other company again next month!

@Birchwoods hello! Good (but obvs not ideal for you) to have another person who gets this all. Hope that things work for you.

So AF didn't arrive yesterday. I've done another clearblue this am (just because it's there and I don't have any other tests) and it's another BFN. It seems to take aaaaaaaages to process, but not sure that's normal. Anyway, if AF doesn't appear today I'll buy some regular tests for tomorrow am.

I'm not feeling anything tbh - either impending af or pregnant. So no idea what's going on with my stupid body :-(

MummyMilla · 18/07/2019 14:39

Update: I think AF is here :-(

satsumasaturday · 19/07/2019 15:10

Sorry to hear af arrived @MummyMilla that sucks 😔

How are you doing @Birchwoods? Has your spotting stopped? Mine has become less yesterday and today but still there. I ordered some more tests on amazon yesterday just to check I'm still pregnant so they should be waiting for me when I get home.

@Abi58 how are you feeling? Hope you're feeling a bit better than earlier in the week

Larrydavid · 19/07/2019 15:48

@satsumasaturday holidays have been lovely this week! We have some friends staying this weekend then I have a crazy week of work next week! How are you doing?

@MummyMilla I'm sorry AF came. Roll on the next cycle. We're doing SMEP again this month. Have you tried it?

Birchwoods · 19/07/2019 20:54

@satsumasaturday I had a blood test yesterday and results today came back that my HcG is only 17. I've got a repeat test on Monday but I called EPU and they confirmed what I already knew, that that level is nowhere near high enough so it's not happening for me this time unfortunately. I've started bleeding more now too. I just hope it's all over with quickly so I can get on with things.

I hope everything progresses well with everyone else. xx

MountAbora · 19/07/2019 22:16

Sorry to hear that @Birchwoods and sorry that AF arrived @MummyMilla.
@satsumasaturday how did you get on with testing? Hope all good with you!
@Larrydavid sounds like you are having a busy and fun time at the moment! Great! Hope your SMEP works this month.
Well after being 2 days late & finally getting my hopes up AF arrived today. Pretty down about it but cheered myself up a little by going to the cinema tonight & some red wine! Onto the next cycle.....

Larrydavid · 20/07/2019 00:36

@Birchwoods so sorry to read that. Hope you're ok.

@MountAbora 2days late is horrible - I had that last cycle and thought that maybe I had been lucky. Then AF comes! Fingers crossed for next cycle! What did you see at the cinema?

satsumasaturday · 20/07/2019 07:09

Sorry to hear that your hgc was low @Birchwoods. Look after yourself and take positivity from the thread- several of us have got BFPs the month after chemicals/early mc - they say you're more fertile in the few months following the loss. Fingers crossed this month will be your month x

Sorry af arrived @MountAbora two days late is just mean. And I am in admiration that you managed to resist testing!!

Sorry I never came back on here last night after my test - I was asleep by 8pm 🤣 what a wild Friday night! I did my cb and got 3+ weeks again which has put my mind at rest a bit. We're visiting my parents this weekend so wanted a bit more reassurance before we tell them (I can't not tell them as me and Mum my normally drink like fish when together!). Now just need to wait until my scan on Monday.

MountAbora · 21/07/2019 08:41

Thanks @satsumasaturday and @Larrydavid. The silver lining is that it’s good if my luteal phase is getting a bit longer so holding onto that!
Glad to hear that everything is looking good with your tests @satsumasaturday, must be such a relief and that you have had a good weekend telling your parents!
@larrydavid it was the lion king 🤣 emotional rollercoaster when I’m pms-ing but a good distraction! How are you doing? Where are you about in your cycle?

MummyMilla · 21/07/2019 15:57

I cannot decide whether I'm just clutching at straws but af has been short and quite light. It doesn't help that I've been with my sister in law who had 'a period' and then found out 3 weeks later she was pg with her bow 11 week old.

Who knows. Assuming it was, who's on board for next month's fun and games?! X

Larrydavid · 21/07/2019 18:03

@MountAbora I really want to see it! I'm on cycle day 11 - into our SMEP regime and hopefully will ovulate in the next few days!

@MummyMilla I'd assume it was AF and then anything else is a bonus! I'm kinda dreading the next tww 🙈

Litttlebird · 23/01/2021 00:02

@LittleRedSocks

I’ve been reading this thread following a recent chemical pregnancy. I feel I have been on a rollercoaster journey with you by reading all the posts but I’m so keen to know how things worked out for you ? Xx

TemporaryName123 · 23/01/2021 08:42

Hi there! I’m happy to report I fell pregnant after a few more chemical pregnancies (about 4 in a row, month after month) int the August, had a baby girl early April 2020 (the definition of a lockdown baby!!) and she’s now just over 9 months old! Keep the faith: our bodies are so weird and sensitive and at such a cellular level at the early days anything can trip things up. But for most of us, it happens when your body is ready. So sorry for your loss but keeping my fingers crossed for you - I know that feeling of longing and hoping. It’s hard, but it will happen xxxx

Litttlebird · 24/01/2021 00:51

@LittleRedSocks, so sorry to read all what you went through but I’m so so happy to learn of your lovely news and wishing you and your family all the very best for the future. Such a lovely ending to a rollercoaster thread. Take care x

SarahMarie8655 · 08/02/2021 16:18

Hey! I’m late to the thread but wanted to share my situation to this thread as it’s very similar and helpful to OPs original question.
Im 34 and have a 2 year old daughter. I had a chemical pregnancy on 1/19/21. Consistently Faint BFPs for days but some brown discharge right before the period was “due” but it was never red; just brown and lighter than a traditional period. However it led me to the doctors because that in combination with the faint positives I didn’t know what was happening and they did 3 HCG blood draws over a week span (each 3 days apart) and then a sono. The first draw was a 7 HCG (1/19), 2nd draw was a 5 (1/22) and on 2/26 it was

frols · 17/02/2021 15:35

Hey all, this thread has been great to read as im going through this right now. Started bleeding on saturday 13th feb with painful cramps (4 weeks 6 days pregnant). Epu said to take another test in a week but i couldn't wait that long so went for a private scan yesterday. My womb shows no sign of pregnancy so believe ive had a cp and body is primed for the next cycle. I do have an appointment tomorrow at gp to check bloods to confirm everything as im still getting faint bfp. But i feel ready to try again this cycle and will start testing ovulation from tomorrow cd6. Good luck everyone trying again and sorry for all the losses. Its hard to go through no matter how far along we are/ were.
