Hello!
I know there are a few threads on this already but can’t find any recent ones.
There’s a theory that your resting heart rate goes up before you can get a bfp so a sudden spike/increase could be indicative of an upcoming bfp.
I’ve been tracking mine for months and have noticed that both times I was pregnant (both unsuccessful) this was true re heart rate.

For reference, it seems that a lot of people have a dip before ovulation followed by a spike around ovulation then it drops a bit and starts to climb a little, dropping again when af arrives. If it keeps climbing, it’s usually a good sign.

I think I’m out this month as mine is dropping steadily but I’ve had a weird cycle and am
Not sure I ovulated because I got multiple
Positive opks spread out over two weeks and didn’t see a heart rate spike as usual. I apparently ovulated around 23-27 (big window due to confusing tests) and AF is due in 4 days so I would normally see my heart rate climbing at this point - who knows what’s going on!

Anyone else symptom spotting and got a Fitbit so can share their heart rate chart?

I'm going to follow this thread as I invested in an Ava fertility bracelet that does the same but adds temp overnight in too. Not cheap though! I'm crap at taking my temp as soon as I wake up and the Ava solves that one. They also have a good sell on value luckily!

I'm on cycle 2 with Ava (1.5yrs ttc) and i really love looking at my charts in the morning!

If anyone is wanting to buy one you can use my referral code at the checkout to get £20 off (I get £20 too I think).
Code is AVABFF18

Here's my chart from last month

That’s interesting @seven201 thanks for sharing!!! I’ve been reading about the Ava, do you like it?

This is my heart rate chart now I don’t really know what to make of it. Spiked for ovulation, little drop then went up and spiked again, started to come down and has since gone up again but stayed steady. AF due Tuesday so I am expecting it to drop today or tomorrow but we shall see... it’s higher than it normally is at this time of the month

That may well be a positive sign @Aberforthsgoat. You never really know until your period or bfp arrives! I do think also you can get the occasional anomaly ie rate showing randomly high or low for no reason.

It's still early days for the Ava for me. I've read it takes a few cycles to get to know you/your cycle. For example, I think I actually ovulated later than it showed on my chart. I did have a bug and very broken sleep (thanks dd) that month so that could have skewed things. I'm going to use opks this month to track everything possible. I do really like waking up and looking at my charts though. As I said I never could do the baby charting myself with a thermometer as I never remembered as I woke up as I love to press the snooze alarm! It's a lot of money but as I mentioned they have good sell on value, so actually not that expensive in the end.

Aberforthsgoat · 05/05/2019 14:12

I think if I have no luck for a few more cycles I might invest!

You’re right about anomalies - no two months are exactly the same for me but some tend to follow a loose pattern of peaks and troughs. There are outside factors as well - when I exercise regularly my rhr drops overall, when I have alcohol, rich food, coffee etc it will have an affect on that day’s rhr so it’s not an exact science but it’s interesting to track!

Yeah I think the Ava algorithm allows for cycles to change; it must track the little information I wouldn't necessarily take note of by myself and compare to last cycle etc.

I'm taking clomid for the first month this cycle so I expect my chart will be very different to last month's one!

mommato3 · 05/05/2019 18:29

Not sure what to make of mine... it's up slightly but not massively

where are you in your cycle momma?

ooh that's interesting seven good luck with the clomid! :)

@Aberforthsgoat I'm currently CD22. Unsure when O took place due to cycle being all over since mc in Feb. I'm thinking I've O'd just not sure when. Have apps saying af due between 12th and 17th...

Aberforthsgoat · 05/05/2019 20:41

I usually see a spike when I ovulate, so it looks like that's either JUST happened or happened during the previous spike.
if it's an ovulation spike, I would expect it to dip now....and then start creeping back up until AF and then drop...and if it doesn't drop but keeps climbing I would say that's a good sign!

If ovulation was the previous spike, I would say this constant climb is a very good sign

Do you have any previous months you can compare to, to see if you spot a pattern?

@Aberforthsgoat March and April attached. Back down to 66 resting today. Not expecting much this month tbh...

You can kind of see a pattern I think

Well mine dropped previously so I thought I was out but I don’t know what to make of this? AF due tomorrow and usually it would be about 64 now, and drop right down to 62 on day of af arrival but it’s stayed resolutely at 66 for the last few days.

My periods were 12/3 and 14/4. HR was lower during April af. Guess time will tell....

als2912 · 07/05/2019 14:58

I don't think things are looking too good for me 👎🏼had quite a high rise over the weekend but now it's starting to drop down again 🙁 AF is due next Monday

als2912 · 08/05/2019 10:52

Yep definitely out this month AF has arrived early 👎🏼at least I know this theory of rhr is working for me though as it has dropped over the last couple of days

Looks like the witch got me tonight. I'm out. Graph showing 30 day average

Hi everyone, sorry to hear that so many of us are out but thanks for sharing your charts, it's really fascinating isn't it?

Although I was pretty chill about testing my first time around, after the mc I seem to have become super obsessed with it and tested at cd24 and cd26, both with FRERs and no hint of a line on either. As I normally get af on cd28 or 29 (and got a strong line cd28 last time) I've assumed I'm out and even treated myself to a (sensible) glass of beer last night, but I think the charts are giving me a bit of false hope that I'm not 100% out yet. Just waiting for some sign of af- if it's a normal cycle for me I should be getting cramps either today or tomorrow. I am kind of wishing I hadn't been following my rhr to be honest as it's such little changes up and down that anything could throw it off!!

@Aberforthsgoat how have you gotten on?

coconutlatte44 · 12/05/2019 10:47

Can feel proper cramps starting up now so another good example of how this isn't perfect science 😅

als2912 · 13/05/2019 11:20

Hi everyone hope you're all doing ok!

I've just started a new cycle (CD6) so thought I'd attach a picture of my chart so you could see the full cycle; everything seemed to work with my rhr and what was going on at the time so now to keep fingers crossed for this month!

coconutlatte44 · 13/05/2019 13:28

Hi @als2912, fingers crossed for you!
My current chart is attached - I am on cd29 still waiting for period, with bfn on cd24 and cd26. I have intermittent cramps which are fairly mild. A bit unusual for me to have cramps off and on - they usually start suddenly and ramp up quickly. However since it's only my second cycle post mc I'm not sure if it that's why.

I convinced myself not to test again this morning as felt certain af would show up today but if it hasn't come by this evening I'll have to go for it. I'm really scared of getting my hopes up again as I had basically given up hope after the two bfns.

Ahh, it's a bfp! 😬😬😬 Cautiously optimistic at the moment.
Keep your fingers crossed for me please! I'll keep updating my charts.

als2912 · 13/05/2019 22:39

@coconutlatte44 oo how exciting congratulations! keeping my fingers crossed for you! x

Aberforthsgoat · 15/05/2019 12:45

Hiya, sorry for the delay in posting - I got a BFP too!!
Congrats @coconutlatte44 :D

I've been a little worried as mine shot up to 68, but has stayed pretty consistently at resting 68 since then and not climbed any further, despite my heart rate during the day being above 68. I haven't been wearing it at night so I don't know if that's what's skewed things, but I'm trying not too study it too much and read too much into it!

I guess there's definitely something to this fitbit malarkey!

Anyone had a flatline like mine is now?! Don’t even know if I’m ovulating......trying to make some sense of this heart rate info!
