Megan- happy to hear it!

Russkispy · 24/04/2019 21:23

@Megan2018 @Hobbes39 glad the scan went well! What a relief!
Got my next reassurance scan next Wednesday, I should be around 9w4d. And the Harmony test is a week after. Very anxious time ahead waiting for its results as my frozen embryo was PGS tested and has trisomy in 18. In the meantime I was talking to a few embryologists and IVF doctors, and they all reassured me that every single embryo is unique, and it doesn't mean that my transferred one is affected too. I can only hope and pray I'm low risk. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

littlemimosa · 24/04/2019 21:37

Great news Megan:)

Russ - we’re all rooting for your little one.

Russkispy · 24/04/2019 22:00

@littlemimosa thank you! I'll keep you posted! In the meantime we're going to Prague this weekend. Never been and quite excited! Taking our DD with us. My little traveler. Been dragging her on all our travels since she was 4 months and she's almost 2.

StrollinDownTheRoad · 24/04/2019 22:22

KitKat-
My AMH was 3.8 for DD and I got pregnant with IUI and Clomid. For DS, I was 42, clinic would not prescribe Clomid or try IVF but I kept cracking on with IUI and got pregnant on a natural cycle with IUI at 42 (after two MCs between babies), no medication, and my AMF was only 0.5. I just decided I’d keep doing IUI until I turned 43 and see if I got lucky, and I did. Not cheap, but a lot cheaper and easier than IVF.

StrollinDownTheRoad · 24/04/2019 22:24

Baby dust to you all and may you all be lucky 🤩

Chatbash72 · 24/04/2019 23:08

Ooh fabulous news @Megan2018 and @Hobbes39... 🥰
Sure it will all be fine @Russkispy
Sending positive baby dust to all xxx

Hobbes39 · 24/04/2019 23:18

Thanks all. @Megan2018 - great news your scan went well too 😊
@Russkispy - I know it's an anxious time, but that's great you have a trip away to distract you & your consultants are def right, your embryo on board is unique, so no greater chance of having issues than any other embryo x
@Kitkat369 - I did ivf : 3 fresh and 3 frozen cycles failed or ended in mc, then had one last ditch attempt and here we are! I'm just turned 42 - my Amh when we started ivf when I was 38 was 15.4. By the time we did our last cycle it was 9 or 8. Something- I can't actually remember... but while amh can give an indication of the quantity of eggs you might get, it doesn't say anything about quality.
Good luck with whatever you decide x

Russkispy - enjoy your trip, sounds lovely!

Strollin - interesting that you did IUI up to 43, I was told by my clinic that they won't do it past 36! They also won't prescribe clomid. My AMH is 2.9, so super low.

Kitkat369 · 25/04/2019 07:04

Strollin- that’s very positive on iui front but I’m thinking even though more expensive with ivf bit better chance as we cannot afford to keep with iui then to ivf. To be fair since feb we haven’t really been trying as I was down with kidney infection which knocked me for six then got job offer after being out of work due to redundancy (2018 was not kind) and so decided to halt on ttc till I started work and first cycle starts after which will be from next week then we will try couple times (though I’m not very hopeful and flummoxed my amh went from 14.7 to 6,4 since last jan). I think I still have endo, even after my lap last year two cycles later and still didn’t conceive. I did think maybe do another iui but that’s nearly £1500 when u include the tests too down drain.

Hobbs-that’s an incredible journey you’ve been on and I’m so happy you’ve been blessed with two miracles. I’m not sure if I could be as strong as you to go through many cycles. We are thinking going with CARE on the multicycle round where you get two fresh cycles and unlimited frozen in between until live birth. It’s not cheap (£7,800-not including drugs and tests and consult) and I’m 41 so pretty scared it won’t work as really is rolling a dice.

A part of me thinks do next two cycles normally then see with consult.

hmmm123 · 25/04/2019 08:13

Great news about the scans and v exciting @Hobbes39 that you are having one of each!

Afm I feel like AF is on her way. ☹️ Onwards and upwards for next cycle

hmmm123 · 25/04/2019 17:56

Yep I'm out AF is here 😫 good luck everyone else trying x

Russkispy · 25/04/2019 19:05

Thank you ladies! I'll keep you posted.
@hmmm123 sorry about AF. Stupid witch!

minime2017 · 26/04/2019 00:07

Feelings on low iron / anaemia and ttc? Suspect I've a deficiency, and having Dr Googled I can relate to some symptoms (tiredness, foggy thinking, palpatations etc, worse around Af...also peri-m symptoms too I believe) Wondering if lacking iron isnt helping my cause. Have bought Ferogloblin or something like that during a shopping trip today.

littlemimosa · 26/04/2019 07:31

Hmmm so sorry 😐

Negative on a frer today. So that’s a full three months now without a period. I think this is the end. Think I’ll see my gp but honestly think that’s it for me:(

Mini low iron can definitely affect cycles and fertility. Best to get it tested at your gp but those iron supplements are usually good.

Cleozeta · 26/04/2019 10:26

Minime - I think it does effect things, could you get testing at the gp? Good idea to try suppliments though

Mimosa - go and see the gp - they may be able to put your mind at rest, or even find another reason for the missing periods? I've heard the deficiencies in certain vitimins can cause probems like that, so might be worth testing.

littlemimosa · 26/04/2019 11:41

Cleo - just been to gp. I broke down. He’s ordered blood tests Wed and referred me for a scan. He offered me Provera to induce ovulation but said it’s best to check the scan first in case I have a cyst. So sad today.

Cleozeta · 26/04/2019 14:10

Mimosa - that's a step forward, they are doing something to investigate and are taking you seriously so thats great. What blood tests are they doing? Good that you are getting a scan too, that may give you some answers. I'm surprised they are inducing ovulation though and not a period?
Hopefully they will find something simple that they can treat and you can move on back to normal cycles again. It may be as simple as a deficiency or an infection.
Fingers crossed for you, let us know how it goes.
I understand your worries so can feel your pain with this. It's heartbreaking when you feel the end is so close, but it may not be.

littlemimosa · 26/04/2019 16:55

Thanks Cleo. It does help talking to someone who understands. I had no idea what Provera does but looked it up and it’s actually artificial progesterone which is used in the luteal phase for a week with a view to inducing a bleed to restore normal periods. Then I guess the next cycle you’re supposed to ovulate. No idea what bloods exactly but he did mention fsh. Thing is I’m now on day 92 so whether it will be accurate or not I don’t know. Thing is if I am in late peri then I guess it’ll be high regardless.
I’ve taken the plunge and bagged up a load of baby clothes. Not the special pieces but the cheaper vests, babygros etc. I couldn’t face clearing the entire lot but it’s a start.

Hope you’re ok and surviving the 2ww x

Cleozeta · 26/04/2019 17:24

I think fsh will give a picture, even during messed up cycle. When I had my first fsh done it was during a long anovulatory cycle and it came back as pretty accurate for then.

Provera sounds like exactly what you need to end the limbo. Hopefully it'll kick start things back up again.

My 2ww is going as it normally does - with absolutely zero expectation!

shinyblackdog · 27/04/2019 23:34

Evening all, thanks for the good wishes and sorry for the radio silence. Congrats on all the lovely scan news and Booseys and Hellen, so sorry to hear you've come to the end of your journeys.

Cleo, I'm surprised ovulation is not being monitored, at least on your first Clomid cycle. I had to have scans every other day until I ovulated to rule out hyperovulation (not the right name but I can't remember what it is), which can be a side effect of fertility drugs (as I recall Critter had it). Also, they can see if you're not ovulating and give you a trigger shot.

Kristie, you asked about SA upthread - which aspect in particular? Some of the percentages seem very high, e.g. 96% morphology (weird shaped sperm) sounds terrible but is actually completely normal.

Critter, wishing you a stress-free maternity leave - you have some cheeky ones in there! Russkispy, best of luck with your next scan.

Cleozeta · 28/04/2019 11:00

Shiny - I've not done clomid under the watch of a clinic, they refused to prescribe it, so I got hold of some and did it on my own. I know..... tut tut

shinyblackdog · 28/04/2019 12:04

No judgement here Cleo, we do what we can.

BooseysMom · 28/04/2019 16:42

Ok so I'm not supposed to be still here but I can't help checking up on everyone..so like my dear late Mother I am!!
So I wanted to say congratulations @Hobbes39..one of each..what a joy! I'm so so happy for you Smile
Also great news @Megan2018Smile

Can I stay hovering in the background without actively ttc or do I have to really leave? Hmm I'm in such a strange halfway house atm

Cleozeta · 28/04/2019 17:23

Course you don't have to leave boosey!
