Here's the new thread. This is a lovely supportive thread for anyone who has suffered the loss of a much wanted baby. Affectionately known as the penguin huddle- this is the place to survive the ups and downs of this crazy journey.

Welcome to any new ladies and sorry for your loss.

Let's have a roll call ladies

Hi all,

Just adding to the aspirin debate. I took aspirin with my last two mc.
I am still waiting for my RMC results in early April however saw my local epau consultant last week.
My local consultant advised if there wasn't a clotting diagnosis then I shouldn't take the aspirin until there is a scan at 6-8 weeks with a heartbeat. He thought it would be beneficial once there because of my age (38) and risk later on in pregnancy (preeclampsia etc) He said before 6-8 weeks if no clotting issues were diagnosed the aspirin was likely to be more harmful than good. I'll see what RMC day but having had 2 mc on aspirin I think this is my plan for next bfp.

I have also now had a uterine biopsy to test for uNK cells at the Coventry clinic. Interested to see what that throws up. My acupuncturist thought it was a sensible move. Nothing ventured nothing gained.

Much love to all those with bfp and for all of those still trying. I am only dipping in and out whilst waiting for test results so struggle to stay up with the thread
X

@Yukka and @fnej01 thanks lovelies. My consultant at epu said the same as @fnej01. It didn't help with the last mc. And given that my period is heavy and like a blood bath I'm not sure it's a clotting issue. I'm now on a high dose folic acid and extra vitamin d so maybe that might help with a future pg. I don't think it's implantation problems as I've gotten to 9 weeks ( baby was 9 weeks scan was 12) I don't think if I had clotting issues it would have gotten that far) it must be bad eggs. That's all I can think ( all so on Q10 and vitamin B complex to help fix that). I think I'm just going to have to hope for the best. I'm going to keep trying before rmc appointment but I don't think I will get caught before then as it usually takes on average for me about 4 to 6 months.

@Lilimum6 I did persuade my local consultant to prescribe me some cyclogest - progesterone. Like all of this there isn't any evidence it helps, but they are confident it does no harm. Unfortunately it is a pessary (something else to look forward to), but if all other results are inconclusive I figure I will at least be doing something different. Could you ask your GP to prescribe?

Lilimum6 · 17/03/2019 10:32

@ fnej01 I've asked but because I have trouble letting go of no viable pregnancies already he said it would just make the problem worse.

@Lilimum6 yes sorry I forgot that does make sense x

Beaglemum93 · 17/03/2019 17:07

Thanks @LokiCat, @Yukka, @Lilimum6 and @Laney79.

@Yukka it's great your 20 week scan went well, you must be so relieved!

Laney79 · 17/03/2019 17:33

@Lilimum6 for me I've never got past six weeks so I suspect it's chromosomes really but then with my family history it could easily be a low level clot problem that they haven't even discovered yet! I trusted the "bad luck" bollocks last time and the only thing that changed was high dose folic acid, so for me i feel I need to do something and that dose of aspirin is so low in my mind I can't see what damage it could do. Many of the places I've looked into seem to use it as a "well it won't do harm" thing so I'm going to try. I may feel differently if I was in your position though as you have already been there and done that. It's really hard x

Yukka · 17/03/2019 17:50

@lilimum6 any clotting disorder impacts in different ways through pregnancy, my third loss was at 10 weeks, which is when the placenta starts to take over. With that one it’s most likely placenta was bad and poor blood supply prevented oxygen and nutrients getting through. Baby could have been perfectly healthy. And the risks now are changing the further I get but mostly the placenta failing, so late mc is an indicator too.

Perhaps wait till you’ve seen a specialist, they will have the latest research and can understand more about your specific circumstances than we can. There could be other indicators in your history that don’t seem relevant now but could help lead to a diagnosis xxx

@Lilimum6 as @Yukka says in your situation I'd probably wait until you see RMC, you've tried it a couple of times and it doesn't appear to have helped on its own xxx

Lilimum6 · 17/03/2019 19:51

@Laney79 and @Yukka think maybe that's a good idea to wait for rmc. I think there has to be something wrong after 6 mc's it can't be bad luck that many times

Well that was short lived. I did another couple of tests this morning and the lines are getting fainter :(

Pop1234 · 18/03/2019 07:44

@Beaglemum93 mine seem to be fainter today too. It sucks.

Beaglemum93 · 18/03/2019 08:05

Sorry @Pop1234 :(

Pop1234 · 18/03/2019 08:06

@Beaglemum93 did you use FRER? Now mine is dry it just looks the same as Saturdays but I used fmu today and I don't normally get great lines with that anyway. Saturdays was second mu. My AF isn't due till Friday. I really wish I didn't test so early.

Beaglemum93 · 18/03/2019 08:17

FRER was slightly fainter and clearblue is way fainter than 2 days ago @Pop1234

Catconfusion · 18/03/2019 08:18

Oh no @Pop1234 and @Beaglemum93

I have my fingered crossed all ok!

I started to to beat myself up for testing early then thought I had a very faint positive at 14 dpo. Very faint compared with earlier ones but if I'd waited I'd have had nothing to compare with. It would have been enough to make me test over the next week to check in case my dates were out etc. The pregnancy symptoms would have driven me crazy with wondering had I not tested early.

Anyway I really hope all is well and it's just inconsistency in the the tests which seems to be common. Xx

InDreamland · 18/03/2019 08:27

Hi ladies. Sorry I dropped off whilst on our break, I needed some time out after my birthday disaster. No sign of DH trying to make a birthday 2 yet. I hate all this, feel like I've lost all interest in anything generally. The break was good though, I needed to get away.

I'll try catch up properly tonight after work.

@boboelephant how are you doing? Hope all is still going well.

@Russkispy how are you after transfer? Fx this is your rainbow.

@Lilimum6 yay for your new and first proper cycle!

@Pop1234 and @Beaglemum93 keeping fx that AF stays away and the lines get darker. Maybe give it a couple of days for hcg to rise before doing another FRER?

Pop1234 · 18/03/2019 08:31

I hope you all don't mind but here's a pic.

Top is 10dpo second mu
Bottom is 12dpo fmu

What do you think? @Beaglemum93 @Catconfusion @InDreamland

@Beaglemum93 when is your AF due?

TTC after pregnancy loss - tread 28 - Bfp will be coming
InDreamland · 18/03/2019 08:34

@Pop1234 the lines are both clear as day. It may just be a slight variance between different sticks. Easier said than done but try not to worry. They are good lines for 10 and 12 dpo.

Beaglemum93 · 18/03/2019 08:44

@Pop1234 your tests both have good lines so fingers crossed 🤞when is your AF due?
AF is due on Wednesday but I'm 15dpo and the clearblues were showing decent lines on Saturday and Sunday but is a squinter now. Hopefully just bad luck and unrelated reason to last time as I didn't even get to 4 weeks this time and I got to 12+2 last time. I just hope it doesn't take as long to conceive again.

Catconfusion · 18/03/2019 08:46

@Pop1234 those look very good, almost like the ones I had 14dpo and 15dpo with my last pregnancy. It ended much later with mmc but was viable then. Good luck! Xx
